Is Obama scaird she might win? Last I checked the US was a democracy and the Convention is the place where the delegates cast their vote.

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe some of the delegates have changed their mind and Obama might be at risk of losing the nomination. This is DEMOCRACY at it's best.

Most of the comments I have seen on here make everyone look like shameful, silly, tantrum-throwing children. Lets be real here– Obama still had more states, more delegates, more PERIOD. If she elects to put her name in as a nominee, she will be committing political suicide. After supporting Obama, she would be the butt of every joke if she in fact decided to continue her campaign– the ultimate flip-flopper as many of which you HRC diehards have grown so used to accusing Obama. I am sure even many of her own followers, at least the ethical ones, would be turned off. Stop hating and be loyal to your party or get out of it.

Frankly, all the HRC supporters should be glad she doesn't have to go through the general election BS that's going on this year. McCain is running a smear-filled campaign... do you really think she would have been exempt from the mudslinging? If Hillary had been involved in the general campaigning, McCain would have dragged her name through the dirt to hell and back, with just as many lies and slanders as he's throwing at Obama.

Count your blessings, and maybe in four or eight years we can have a respectable election where the best candidate wins on merit, not on the ability to lie with a straight face.

Every time an article comes out that says someone will do this or someone said that, everyone starts jumping on Hillary as if she is the one who is doing it. She has made her position clear and I respect her. So please stop trashing her every time the media needs to spin a story. How about giving her credit when it was revealed that she would not go after Obama's background during the primary. Our 2-party system continues to serve us nothing but more of the same on a toilet-seat platter. Until WE ALL stop whining and vote in a third, fourth, heck, even a fifth-party candidate, we will be dining on crap forever. Peel back the curtains, it's time to clean the smear off of the windows. What purpose does putting her name in nomination serve – even for her supporters? All I can say to the Hillary supporters is that the rights that HIllary and others fought for were not about one woman – they were about helping millions of women and families in this country to have a fair chance at being full participating citizens.

Hillary quit and supports Obama. She quit because she fell short and she knew in order to make certain that the policies she supported would go forward, it was time to support the nominee.

It's time to park the campaign as Hillary did back in June and campaign now for the policies and values that both Hillary and Barack share. Allow the convention the full use of the precious TV time to explain to all Americans what Democrats believe and why we cannot go forward with a Bush 3rd term.

The race was for delegates. Obama won the majority of pledged delegates. The superdelegates did nothing but rubberstamp the primary results.

You guys need to accept that if there were ZERO super delegates then Obama would still be the leader, even fully counting Florida and Michigan. This is a bogus argument.

Hillary accomplished a lot and I have no problem with a roll call but after that is done the rancor must be over. Any one still holding a grudge is a REPUBLICAN. If you cannot accept the decision of the party and the platform that your support of Senator Clinton would indicate then you are not a Democrat.

The Hillary supporters do realize that 72% of the people that originally voted for her (myself included) have moved on to support Obama and have no interest in her EVER winning the presidency. Frankly, even if she somehow shanghaied the convention and miraculously walked away as the official candidate for fall, I will likely still not vote for her. I have always respected Hillary and thought of her as a role model.... until now. Frankly, these days she and her adamant 'supporters' just seem tacky and sad. Rationale For Super-Delegates
Super-delegates are designed to act as a check on ideologically extreme or inexperienced candidates. The super-delegate system has been called a safety-value.
It has been 30 years since the Democratic Party had a cliffhanger going into the Convention. If there is no clear winner after state primaries and caucuses, then the super-delegates - who are bound only by their consciences - will decide the nominee.
Based on DNC convention history, it is a tradition to put the names of candidates on the ballot so their supporters could vote. Example: Howard Dean himself! Gee what a surprise.
In this case neither Obama or Hillary won the primary election. As a result Hillary’s name SHOULD/MUST on the ballot. Only then can super delegates perform their proper role and vote their conscience. If this is not done then Obama will not be the official nominee
