(CNN) - Cindy McCain visited a Michigan hospital after a campaign event Wednesday, complaining of pain in her hand.

"At some point during the rope line an enthusiastic supporter shook Mrs. McCain’s hand and exacerbated an existing carpal tunnel condition,” said spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker. “Out of an abundance of caution, she decided to leave the event and visit the local hospital for x-rays where she was treated for a minor sprain."

UPDATE: The campaign reports that Cindy McCain will return to active campaigning on Thursday.

Cindy McCain, who has a brace on her right arm, told reporters she was "fine." Her husband said Wednesday afternoon that someone shook her hand "too vigorously."

Poor lady. I can only imagine how hard it must be to be a presidential candidate's wife. She'd make a great first lady though.

Oh boy! she can take some more pain pills.

By the way, did she ever get a 'Tramp Stamp' tattoo for her participation in the "Miss Cowchip" beauty contest?

    Uh-Oh!!!!
Is McCain gonna leave her now?

Thats ok....he can go back to his home country of Panama and find a new healthy wife when he fails to slander Obama enough to win the Presidency.

the mavericks hot wife is getting old. time for a younger wife john.

How comes i never here nobody mention that John McCain had four Navy aircraft destroyed before he was shot down.

i think he was not that good of a pilot since he only had about 25-30 hours of actual combat.

Since I could not post in the actual story about Russia.....

I am far from a republican, but McCain is doing what a leader needs to do during this time. Russia is in the wrong, and he is not afraid to say it. For those of you using this crisis to bash McCain, and some Hillary to show favor to Obama, I have to ask what is his solution. Obama is on vacation on his opinion on the matter smells of political pandering( and I still might vote for him). No one is warmongering, and Bill and Hillary will not be the blame if Obama can not stand up and take on what could be the next real world crisis. I say give McCain a break, he has been involved in this issue's for years while I am sure Obama has hardly given it a thought on the sunny beaches.

I love it how she looks just like Skeletor. Maybe now that she is injured, McCain will just get up and leave her, like he did his last wife.

Glad that Cindy McCain had a minor injury. So far Obama has not made an effort to have a Press Conference regarding Georgia – what is his problem?
