Barack Obama is up by 6 points in the latest CNN poll of polls.
(CNN) – Barack Obama continues to hold a solid lead over John McCain with just over 80 days remaining until the presidential election, a new CNN poll of polls shows.
According to the average of several recent national polls, Obama registers 47 percent among registered voters nationwide with McCain at 41 percent.
That lead has basically held steady over the last two months: A CNN poll of polls on June 20 also had the race at 6 points, 46 percent to 40 percent.
The national general election poll of polls consists of four surveys: Pew (July 31-August 10), CBS (July 31-August 5), AP-IPSOS (July 31-August 4), and Gallup tracking (August 10-12). The poll of polls does not have a sampling error.
The solid leads shows Americans aren't falling for the usual slimy smears offered by the thugs.
McSame's foreign policy "experience" is showing up as very misguided and dangerous!
– > Look at the Georgian President calling McSame to send in the troops and wage war against Russia!
McSame saying "All Americans today are Georgians" translates as "this is our war, too!"
Uh, Hello....?, anyone home?, want to go to war with Russia?
Another Bush/McSame failure....
Vets for Obama!
EBC:
I saw that. I also heard that McCain says they got it wrong!
Yeah, right!
If McCain is elected it can only mean one thing and one thing only:
WW III.
With the repubs we have been drifting towards WW III steadily.
Everyone Still has to campaign hard for Obama ... We need the polls in double digits after the convention!!!!!!!!
Obama ... landslide in 2008.
Great News!!! No more McBush!!!!
Obama 08 all the way......
Barack Obama's greatest challenge is going to come from Nader, not Mccain. Mccain is out of the question.
Obama should stay on vacation.
Americans are the most apathetic, whiny, lazy, uneducated people on the planet.
Would rather sit mindless in front of reality t.v. then get off their backsides to try and effect any kind of change. If McCain, "McBush", "McWar" wins in November this country deserves exactly what it gets.
God Bless America...the Land of the Free and the ome of the Insane!
The only poll that counts is November!
The media, desperate to portray this as a competetive horserace, is going to spin this as a bad thing for Obama.
It doesn't make sense to me how a six-point lead for Obama means that Obama is losing.
A lot of what anti-Obama people say doesn't really make sense. They are so bitter and desperate, they'll say anything.
He's been up all along. Americans are more sure than ever that we want a President who is honorable, intelligent and will bring change! With McCain we will be headed for disaster- with Obama we will be a nation of integrity!!!!
OBAMA- 2008
I do wish that the news media would find something to fill the air time other than endless speculation by "talking heads" about what the latest polls mean.... If polls were an acurate indication of what was going to happen Dewey would have been elected president in 1948. Evidently the media hasn't learned a thing in the 60 years since......
Toad from TX, stick to what you know and it's not politics. McCain has no clue what's going on anywhere; nevermind Iraq.
Obama = Socialism. Why work hard to improve your situation when your country will just give it to you for free?
Obama is up by 6 with 9% Undecided. The Country already know who McCain is, which means Obama has some work to do to attract the undecided.
Obama/Hagel '08
This is what I am talking about.
The country is tired of the lying and dishonest Republicans who try to bend everyone to their way,
Obama '08
Funny how the US Today poll shows McCain 4 points ahead of Obama. Guess it's all about whom you ask and where you do the polls at. Wait for the big surprise for Obama in Sept..
McCain '08
cnn censors!
biased cnn wont post comments!
It's nice to see a US politician mobbed by wellwishers in other countries again – other than Bush in Albania. I think McCain should also give a speech at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and see what happens. Bet he won't. (Military Man - I like Rasmussen, too and find them very accurate. I just checked and Obama is up by 2 on that site.)
Obama's lead is clearly larger than this. Most of his supporters are minorities, and we dont answer the phone if we dont know who it is, and young folks that dont even use landlines. Id say Obama is actually leading by 20 or more.
Putin will eat Nobama for lunch folks. It's a no brainer.
It will clearly be a close election.
Frankly– a whole bunch of independants will be deciding this sqweaker. And most of those people when asked about political favorites from a pollster would say likely tell them where they could put their poll.
Thank God for those God clinging, gun clinging, NASCAR racing, beer drinking–regular folk.
If this maintains through October into November and this gap is the same nationally as it could be in many states, it looks like McCain would lose. We still have the conventions, debates and VP picks to hear about. It is too bad this isn't broken down by state.
