Of course the CNN poll isn't slanted. they have only been shamelessly in bed with BO since the beginning. Rasmussen, a more reputable poll has them within 2 point for over 9 days. 25% of dems are not falling in line behind BO. They are afraid his only real example of proven success is self-promotion.

JB, Boston August 13th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Hey Bob, you identified the "endless war" as being your concern.

What makes you thik Obama will end it? He originaly said he would, now he has come out and basically said his "timeline" will be subject to preconditions on the ground. That sounds very familiar. . . .ya, I know why. . . . .McCain has said this from day one.

____________________________________________________

I hate to burst your bubble but Obama has ALSO said this from day one, he just has been misquoted, if you go back and see what he actually said you would see that he stated that he would START WITHDRAWING THE TROOPS IMMEDIATELY (or tell the generals to devise a plan for immediate withdrawla) but that the rate of withdrawal depended on the conditions on the ground but that is should be accomplished in 16 months. idiot

Finally for those of you who tout experiance over judgement I simply point out that in the 1970s and 1980s IBM was the WORLD LEADER in computers, they were the undisputed industry standard. they ahd the experiance, the knowledge, the people, eeverything that should keep them on top and a couple of guys in a garage, with NO EXPERIANCE, NO DEGREES, NO MONEY nothing but an idea and good judgement were literally laughed at by IBM. Now me I wish I could have sent Microsoft some money and bought into them then... I am doing that now by buying into (with my donations to his campaign) my countries future and Mr. Obama's win. So go out and support Big Blue me I will take IBM (I could have used the same story and told about Ford or Chevy or Chrysler and compared them to Honda, Toyota, or Datsun (who has undergone a name change since the 1970s!) but I am sutre you will see the point the old, traditional, the failed, must give way to the new, the untried, the next generation of leaders

To what extent do you think that McCain's comments are a reflection of his chief foreign policy advisor, who was until recently a paid lobbyist for the country of Georgia ... and one of the neocon architects of the war in Iraq? This connection needs to be clearly and forcefully made by the media ... or do they like McCain too much to report unpleasant truths?

I find it rather funny to read the McCain fans postings. They state that if you back Obama you are stupid, he doesn't know anything and a number of other rumors which have been proven time and time again to be false. This just demonstrates the type of individual who will follow a man who states he has no clue as to how economics work, makes so many gaffes in his speeches he is second only to Bush, and sang the song "Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran"

I think the pollsters are not telling the truth about the results of their polling because I strongly believe that they are bias toward McCain.

Why aren't you telling the truth to the American public?

Let's see, McCain is a Rep. in a Democratic year, he admits to knowing little about the economy (America's #1 concern), and routinely misspeaks; yet Obama can't seem to move the dial at all in over 2 months. In fact, a month ago he led by 8. This should be a blowout. Could it be that many Americans see through to Obama celebrity dazzle and see there's no beef? Remember how Obama froze in the debates with Hillary, especially when George Steffanopolis asked some tough questions? One big mistake by Obama and he's toast. Democrats, be afraid, be very afraid. Can't wait for the PUMA demonstration at the convention.

I don't know why anyone who actually works and pays taxes would vote for Mr. Obama rather than Mr. McCain. On the other hand, if Mr. Obama wins, I'll have to consider quitting work and becoming a ward of the State. It will pay better with less stress!

The Poll of Polls is an average of polls across the country. The November electorial process is a state by state winner take all vote. Per one analysis, the 6% difference reported can be completely accounted for by Obama's lead in California, the land of fruits and nuts.

Got him all flustered....that's what he'll do to Obama. Hillary had to be restrained from saying certain things. McCain can do and say whatever he wants to.

Not all Americans are Americans, questioning the patriostism of others.

But all Americans are Geoargians. What a confused logic.

I want the DemocRATs to win, in 2008! and G.W. Bush, will be finally out of office.............then, they will have to "stand up" and "write their own history"...............and really be totally responsible, for something, other than "Just Words"!

What count is the electoral college. Sure Barack Obama is popular, but there is a quiet storm brewing, the disenfranchised Hillary supporters. I doubt that they will vote for Obama after his supporters mocking them.

I advise all republicans not to vote for the most UnGodly republican we might as well live with a dem president for another 4 yrs than live with the guilt of voting an UnGODLY man.

Polls reflect the popular vote. Our so called Democracy is not by popular vote for the Presidency, it is by electoral vote. Obama could win the popular vote and still lose, like sort of what happened to Gore (but Florida was stolen by Jebb Bush). Both of these candidates better concentrate on a specific few key states to win, because this is going to be another close election like in 2000.

If the media wasn't in the tank for McCain and suppressing stories that make him look bad, Obama would be up by 10 points (at least). Perseverance still.

A lot of people are committed to Obama no matter what. The real test is going to be the voters, those 60% who decide after the conventions. I think he got a lot from being the Dems nominee, it's their year, but many of the people supporting Obama really dislike the man. Like me. I keep looking for reasons not to support Obama, and I will find them. Come November, Obama will loose because of people like me.

Love the picture. It's almost as if McCain is thinking to himself... 'Hmmm, Obama has something in his ear' and Senator Obama is thinking 'Hmmm...Why is McCain staring into my ear, what's his deal...?'
All that's missing is Hillary bustin' into the room and being like 'Aiight, who's up for some drinkin'?!'.

Show me the polls after Labor Day

Really amazing how far apart this country is. It really seems like 2 countries at times. Interesting that the educated people in this country are heavily favoring OBAMA. The right keeps doping everyone else with fear and lies. The choice is easy . The future vs the past. Wake up America.

Hey Dylan in California, I wouldn't be nearly as happy about not seeing McCain stickers on North San Diego County bumpers as I would be concerned about all the Republicans, Independents and PUMAs who will just vote and not announce their preference with a bumper sticker. Continue your dream until November 4th. Then, like all the Obamatrons, you will have a rude awakening. Sleep tight!

I know that traditional wisdom says that Obama should be up my more, but I think this is good news. This is not a traditional campaign and Obama is not a traditional candidate. McCain is expending alot of energy right now while Obama is expending none, yet he continues to hold on to his lead. Until McCain can find the right negative campaign line of attack that actually puts him into the lead, I think the Obama camp wil just coast until Sep/Oct then go into high gear for a sprint to the finish.

Obama is trying to shorten the game. McCain can only change this if he can show that he can take a lead. So far his fierce attacks are having little impact over the last several weeks.

I think that what is being missed is that the Obama camp is never going to win by a landslide. I think they are perfectly comfortable winning by 1 or 2 percentage points. I don't see any panic in the Obama campaign apparatus. This is going to be interesting. McCain has to shake him up and it has not happened yet. McCain has to go more negative, but right now he is right on the crest of going so negative that it is going to hurt him, so he has to be careful.

I know that the Repugs try to reverse the argument that Obama has something to prove, but in fact, it is McCain that has to prove that with all his experience and referring to Obama as a young man (age card) that he can stop this upstart that supposedly should not be on the same stage as him.

I love the way that McCain always suggests that he can teach Obama something or that Obama needs to learn and understand. McCain needs to learn and understand how to beat Obama period. I have a feeling that McCain is going to learn the same lesson as Hillary. They both underestimated Obama and they are both going to pay the price or being so dismissive.

For the people who keep saying Rasmussen has Obama's lead lower please look at the polled population. The daily tracking poll is from likely voters, not the type that Obama's ground forces have been recruiting this year.

If you want to quote that poll then look at the others that poll registered voters. Obama's lead goes up to 6 points and doesn't drop below 3 for almost all.

Factor in the other candidates and its in low double figures or high single digits. Not a bad lead before the debates.

Does anyone really believe Obama is only 6 points ahead? When you add in the lead Obama has amongst cell-phone-only users (who are not polled) plus the bump he will receive after t eh convention and the debates (when people get to see McSame trying to string together intelligible thoughts w/o teleprompters for 90 minutes) the predcitions of LANDSLIDE will once more become prominent.

I heard McCain interviewed on NPR this morning. THis is a must hear interview. He is so arrogant! Talking down to interviewer, interrupting, at one point stretching and yawning while he talks. Unbelievable, and with no original and consistent idea in his brain.

I see that Cnn does not want too many bloggs saying something negative like pointing out that Cnn and Msnbc or the only polls that show Obama always in the lead. It is apparent how biased you have become. Maybe you people got that feeling like Chris Matthews of Msnbc did. You know you felt that thrill run clear up your leg. Heck if you only want Obama bloggers criticing McCain why don't you just come out and say it and I will not express my views even though I spent twenty years in the military to defend liberals like you who like to express yours but don't want to recognize anybodys that disagrees with your views.
