Kerry launches site to fight Obama rumors

Kerry’s PAC launched the site Wednesday.
Kerry’s PAC launched the site Wednesday.

(CNN) - Four years after finding himself the target of a scathing campaign-year book from a conservative author during his own campaign, former Democratic presidential contender John Kerry is launching a Web site to discredit the writer’s latest work, which takes aim at 2008 presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

The move comes amid news “Obama Nation,” the latest book by author Jerome Corsi, has secured a berth atop New York Times best-seller list. Corsi previously co-wrote “Unfit for Command,” a book highly critical of Kerry’s military record during the Vietnam War.

Kerry’s new Web site, “Truth Fights Back” – which will be funded by the Massachusetts senator’s political action committee - resembles the “Fight the Smears” site Obama’s campaign launched earlier this year, and uses similar methods: a list of responses to existing rumors about the presumptive Democratic nominee, a form to report new attacks, and a request for supporters to add their names to an e-mail listserv that will direct activists on rapid response to future attacks on Obama and other Democratic candidates.

“We want people to know that truth, and that doesn't just mean the truth about the candidate being smeared, but also the truth about the smear machine,” says a message on the site. “We don't just want to ‘debunk’ rumors and smears; we want to show people what these smears are all about so they can recognize smears in the future. We want to educate people on why these are used and by whom.”

Kerry has expressed regret over his own response to attacks from Corsi and other critics during his own White House bid, telling reporters that he did not think he had responded swiftly or strongly enough.

"You can't just play defense against smears, pointing out how they aren't true,” said Kerry in a message to supporters Wednesday. “You've got to play offense, too, exposing the whole cynical game for what it is: an attempt to keep us from talking about the real issues and ultimately changing our country for the better.”

Now watch the clowns who fell for the swiftboat campaign 4 years ago try and back up their decision and try and make it 'right' this time around with Bush's disciple McCain.

Come on red staters, lets hear about 18 million votes, the stolen election or just calling Obama names. You're accustomed to stretching the truth by now.

Jeez...I can make up stories too just like the Republickins.

John McCain – Fit to Bend Over

John McCain is queer. An unabashed Homosexual. He actually faked being shot down in North Vietnam so that he could spend five years being T-Bagged by young Vietnamese boys. He personally was buggered by Ho Cho-Min himself and was his pool boy for several months, wearing nothing but a giant Red-White-and Blue strap-on. His pet name was Yankee my Doodle Dandily.

After his release from the Homosexual bath houses. He decided to stay in the Navy with the other Queers. But after performing service after service for Admirals...he decided that a career in Politics would better suit him. That way he could bugger the entire nation at one time.

It was during this time that he met Larry Craig who showed him the fun ways of slurping strangers in public bathrooms. During these episodes he met a young George Bush and Dick Cheney. He liked Dick...but wasn't very fond of Bush. But together they all pranced sack in hand to Osama Bin Laden's Brother's house near-by George Bush's queer ranch in Crawford.

That's where during many night's of buggering, and coincidently coining the phrase "Drill Here, Drill Now" the decided that they would blow up the World Trade Center so that they could make billions of dollars.

After becoming rich...and having to have colon re constructive surgery...John decided to run for President...hoping that they could destroy another National Landmark and play like they had nothing to do with it but blame in on Iran. Wooo Hooo!

Way to go Kerry! 4 years late, but way to go! Thank god he didnt win the election.

So far as the books about B. Hussein Obama, dont we have free speech? One who writes a book is an author, regardless of political ties or public opinion and should be respected as such. Anyone out there write any books lately? Its not the easiest thing to do.

Now on to the whole "smear" thing.....I believe this race has gone negative, on both sides. However this is what I think is absolutely ridiculous.....ANY TIME ANYONE says something negative about B.Hussein Obama they are smearing him. When someone brings up his lack of political experience, they are smearing him. Whenever someone brings up his wife and her anit-american setiment, they're smearing him. If someone brings up his nieve ideals, its a smear. When he is called out on his dealings with Rev. Wright, or the slum lord he/his campaign was in bed with and took donations from, its a smear. If anyone so much as mentions his Muslim roots, its a smear. You see where this is going? Why is that the case? Arent we supposed to question a presidential candidates ideals, voting record and experience? Isnt this America , the land of free speach? Well it is, but if anything B.Hussein Obama doesnt want in the media (which is obviously on the Obama band wagon), its quickly described as "smear" and negative attacks. I know H. Obama plays the victim very well, but there has to be a line somewhere.

    Good Job Kerry.

By the way, for those that complain about FOX News leaning to the right, as a liberal Democrat I find myself watching FOX more often than any other news network. I like to evaluate all things critically, and you can't do that when you analyze viewpoints only from one side. I pay attention to what the right is saying, what the left is saying, then decide where I stand on each issue. Most of the time I find myself on the left, but sometimes I side with the right. For example, public school reform is important to me, and right wingers seem to want to attack this problem head on, whereas liberals figure more money is the only answer. I agree that more money is needed, but teachers need to be accountable for their behavior too. I think that both sides should come together on this issue, and Obama is the ONLY candidate I have seen in my 34 years of life that seems to be able to work with both sides.

McCain would just side with the right every time, like Bush.

    Jim,

Bush and Dick didn't even go to the jungle.

By their fruits you shall know them, we don't have to speculate about whether Bush was unfit for command, not at this point. You're probably proud that your party won in 2000 and 2004, quit an achievement since that is the only part of the game that matters. Reminds me of winning the war in Iraq, actually governance wasn't the goal there either, just bomb your way to victory and after that it just ain't that interestin to think about so why bother. Typical.

Kerry is a lover scorn. In my opinion, he brought this on himself. He was a veteran and this and that, but when the truth came out about the whole medal tossing deal, it was negative attacts and smearing......What a joke.

Its over John, you wont be the VP candidate so lay it down, kinda like you did with your medals.

I see the liberal webnuts are out in full force on CNN.

Instead of SMEARING Corsi vs any particular points he makes, you prove that you are typical leftists. Cry Victim while doing exactly what you are claiming being a victim of, SMEAR-BAITERS.

Probabaly won't make the cut as this is definitely pro bama site. To bad TRUTH means nothing to CNN, the democratic Senators nor the koolaid cult followers. Ask bo to tell the TRUTH for once and see what happens. Corsi stated FACTS. But of course moeration will only allow those blindly following the cult messiah to post. Ask bo to tell the truth about his drug use after college! Ask him to tell the truth about Larry Sinclair. The enquirer will have to do the job as they did with John Edwards as the MSM including CNN is up bo's butt so far they can't see the time of day!
And to think I supported John Kerry!!!!!! OMG!

    Good for Kerry.

The Republican campaign is simply to throw up as many lies as possible from any and every source campaign related or not. They will not disavow or condemn any lie, book, or article so long as it attacks Obama and attempts to position him negatively.

Someone needs to stand up for truth and fight these weasels.

    Good on Kerry.

I wish the media did more to point out the lies from McCain and his supporters. That ridiculous claim from McCain that Obama would raise taxes on families earning as low as $42,000 is just a blatant lie. It's been debunked publicly over and over. But McCain himself keeps saying it repeatedly. But the media hasn't been pushing back at McCain and calling him out for continuing to spread lies like this. So Obama does need all the help that he can get to fight back against all that's being thrown at him. I wasn't thrilled with Kerry as a candidate, but I'm glad to see him have the integrity to stand up to the baseless smearing that's going on.

I am so sick of the holier than thou right wing republicans spreading a bunch of lies again. Is that the only way they can win and try to remain in power? I only wish more people would research the facts and find the truth and stop believing all the lies and hate that the republicans and their hit men spew forth. They'll do and say anything to win. What happened to the Christian values the republican party claims to have?.

As for FoX Noise they're as about as unfair and unbalanced as you can get. I'm sick of their pundents spreading lies and hate.

I'm sure it was a good Christian Republican who just murdered the Ark. DNC chairman. He probably felt like he was doing a good thing by getting rid of a liberal, like the guy in Knoxville did at the Unitarian church when he murdered two innocent people and injured 6 others. Just goes to show you we need more guns. Ha!

Is Kerry hoping to get a good position if Obama is elected in November? Both Kerry and Obama are hypocrites and have no backbone so they deserve each other. Kerry is a real loser and I hope he does not get re-elected.

Anyway Obama will not tbe the next president so Kerry had better go back and bury his head in the sand.

John Kerry is really trying to get a job in an Obama Administration. Well I hope McCain wins making Hillary the most sought after endorsement in politics after the election! She will be by far the most influential Democrat and best pick for President in 2012. And loser Kerry can bet his bottom dollar she won't be helping him win relection in the Senate.
