Obama is vacationing in Hawaii.
(CNN) - New polls out Wednesday show Barack Obama is leading in two Northeastern states - one of which will likely play a key role in deciding the next President of the United States.
A Franklin & Marshall poll out of Pennsylvania shows the Illinois senator leads McCain by eight points (44-36 percent) among registered voters, while a Quinnipiac poll of likely voters in New Jersey puts Obama up by 10 there. The Pennsylvania poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points, while the New Jersey poll's margin or error is plus or minus 2.6 points.
Pennsylvania is a perennial battleground state and will be heavily contested by both candidates this fall. In 2004, John Kerry carried it by less than 200,000 votes. New Jersey may be a safer bet for Obama - the state hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988.
Obama is up in Ohio as well!!!!
Go Obama! YES WE CAN! and YES WE WILL!
Obama/Clinton 2008
What's news here? Any Democrat should be winning these two states. The bigger story is that Obama is leading by only 10 in NJ. It should be 15+ at this point.
The disgruntled Northeast will have a lot to say about "same ol' same ol'". My family in Pennsylvania have all done a complete about face regarding McCain and his competency.
Johnny boy's ship is sinking fast.
No surprise here. McBush has had this week in the spotlight and he just puts his foot in his mouth trying to look presidential. Keep it up McBush, you're goin' down.
If Obama cannot win in New Jersey, he is toast. Frankly, I can't understand why he isn't up by at least 20 points in New Jersey. Democrat governor, two Democrat senators, legislature controlled by Democrats, Newark, Camden, Jersey City, etc.
Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Vote McCain or join the insane................
It's good to see this kind of news. But I urge all Obama supporters to NOT get complacent based on Poll numbers.
It is a hard cold fact that Obama is DEPENDING on his young voters to turn out in force come November. We have ended up with Republican presidents many times due to one undeniable factor: They tend to be more active come voting day then do the demographically younger Democratic party.
If Obama is to win, then the YOUNG must hit the polls in November. Do not take it for granted that we have this in the bag. Like it or not, there is a sizable older population that is simply racist and/or religious heretics that will not vote for Obama. That means YOU have to if you support him.
Great ! Let's beat that old fool McSame once and for all. Or send him to Georgia !
granpa must be real pleased by his bitter comments since he has been roaming PA lately. job welldone Mcbush.
Interesting!
hey will win them all
So let me get this right – he goes on vacation and McCain has a whole week to slander him, lie about his policies and flip/flop with immunity.
This proves two things: One, the studies that show Obama receives more press but it is mostly more negative press than positive press and without all the negative press people can actually objectively consider his positions; and
Two, McCain's negative attacks only invite people to take a closer look at Obama's policies to see if what McCain is saying is actually true, as a result Americans are finding out McCain is a liar and deceiver.
End result – Obama's ratings increase.
These polls are as accurate as those which had Hillary Clinton losing by 3 then 24 hours later she won the state after she gave the reasons why she was running along with a little emotion.
This is nothing more than CNN and the media outlets pushing their aspirations on the rest of us.
How will the mainstream media explain an Obama loss ? Will it be the "voters in the privacy of the booth" respond differently than when polled about their preferences ?
Dare you to print it.
I LOVE THE VOTERS OF NEW JERSEY AND PENNSYLVANNIA. THAT'S JUST TO SHOW THAT VOTERS IN BOTH STATES ARE READING AND FOLLOWING THE ISSUES BETWEEN BOTH CANDIDATES.
THANK YOU ALL. I CANNOT TAKE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF REPUBLICAN PRESIDENCY!!
DEMOCRATE ALL THE WAY!
And this is News How??? .. These States are Blue States ... CNN, Polls about Swing States would be more pertinent . . than this Blue & red States
Sounds good to me! Let's keep it that way!
Obamanation '08
YES WE CAN!
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! GO OBAMA.....
I will be cautiously optimistic. Sen. McCain's obsession with Sen. Obama must be paying off. Don’t be surprised if he is asked what he envisages for America’s future and his answer is: OBAMA!!!
Obama will win NJ. voter registration for democrats is up by 3% in NJ we all are working hard in NJ hosting many events every week to ensure an Obama victory.
Obama is the Future Mccain is the Past Choose your Future. I Guess all Them attack ads didn't work for Old Mccain Huh Obama 08
YES WE CAN PA !!!!!!! I live in pa and I will tell you now THIS IS OBAMAS STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep on wasting money in Pa and then going over to TAKE money in NJ while losing that stat also, you would think elmer would be spending some money in Fla, which at the present time, he doesnt think he has too. But wake up on Nov 5 and all the repugs will say..."what happened in FLA"? how could he have lost that state....its called ground game and GOTV which Obama team is light yrs ahead of the Mclame camp, Psst: Johhnie ole boy, er, if you lose Fla, you can plan the new pool and hot tub in your back yard!
This Is Great News! Im Glad To See Mccain Is Down! People Are Starting To See Mccain For The Clown He Is! . . . . . Landslide . . . Obama!
