(CNN) - One day after reports that a new book slamming presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama would debut in the top spot on the New York Times non-fiction best-seller list, his campaign called the author “a discredited, fringe bigot” and sent reporters a 41-page memo laying out alleged inaccuracies in his latest release, “Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.”
"Jerome Corsi is a discredited liar who is peddling another piece of garbage in order to continue the Bush-Cheney politics he helped perpetuate four years ago," said Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor.
"His is one of what will likely be many lie-filled books rushed to print this election cycle that are cobbled together from debunked internet sources to make money and advance a partisan agenda. We will forcefully respond to these smears with all means at our disposal."
Corsi co-wrote a 2004 work attacking then-nominee John Kerry’s military record titled “Unfit for Command”; the Obama team called its response “Unfit for Publication.” It plans to post the contents of the document in full on its “Fight the Smears” Web site.

Its funny how I always see comments and BOOKS that state that we shouldn’t votee for (gamble on)the Democrats/Obama …..its scary…..blah blah blah ….You know the fear card.
To those who say this. Can you please look at the past 16 years.?With a democratic President things looked pretty good. We were able to stabilize our deficit and there were no crisis such as job losses and war. On the other hand, with Bush we had war war and more war. Even when it wasn’t warranted they still wanted war….we had job losses…..and home mortgage crisis and Orange Alerts …….enormous deficit……..and oil/gas crisis …..record number of countries that hate America …..and so on.
So the truth is if you don’t want to gamble VOTE DEMOCRATIC!!!

It's sad that a well-researched book like "Prosecution of GWB for Murder" by Vincent Bugliosi does not get any media attention, and this crap does, enabling it to be sold to millions. This country really is full of racists, bigots, and just plain dumb people who still think Bush is doing a good job, and that McCain will be even better. That scares me more than the Taliban does.

A garbage of a book with straight out lies didn't we all condem James Frey from A Million Little Pieces for lying about his book and wanted our money back but if this guy does it AGAIN its ok Give Me A Break! He doesn't back up any of his claims with actual facts yet people will still go out and buy this book or wink wink conservative groups to put the book at #1.
Well, the guy came right out and said he basically made the book up because he didn't want Obama to be President.
I think that the Obama camp's outrage is justified, especially since the media has been giving such ridiculous coverage to a book which SHOULD be filed in the FICTION section.

I seen him on CNN last night he seems to be a pretty forthright guy to me, it was the crazed Obama supporter who came unglued and made himself and Obama look like an Idiot. I purchased this book, and most of the details I have already heard about and based on many of these facts I knew I have decided that I cannot in good faith cast a vote for Obama. Primarily his hate filled church membership of twenty years, that was enough for me….
