In layman's terms: If we are considering babies at that stage people, kids, etc., then we should really take a look at abortion period. If we are considering them people, then we are only accepting the child because he/she didn't die. So aborting that child would essentially be murder if that child had died. This could kill Roe v Wade

Personally, I don't agree with abortion. While I don't agree, I do understand where pro-abortion people are coming from. This seems like a reasonable response from somewhat of that nature (even though pro-abortion people supported the bill).

Furthermore Obama did support the federal bill.

But to vote based on abortion is ridiculous. Bush used that crap in both campaigns and has done what????? NOTHING!!!!!

Having said that McCain stands for the rich, pure and simple. We are seeing the benefits of deregulation, free trade pacts not being enforced and tax cuts for the rich. The residential housing market and economy is in shambles but the custom/high end housing market is roaring. McCain may or may not have taken money but the Republican's have. Time to oust the party of big business and get some sanity back in government.

It is Ok for Obama to have ties to Rezko. Many dem poo poo'd the whole thing (by the way, there is no argument that he got a ridiculous deal on real estate), and now it's not ok for McCain to have ties (removed ties that is) to a launderer.

Personally, I am more concerned by the fact that McCain has been almost totally AWOL in the Senate for the past two years, well over two times longer than he has been campaigning hard. Why has he:

Only voted on half of the important defense bills going back 3 years?
Only voted in favor of one of the last 7 military funding bills?
Skipped town instead of supporting the new GI Bill?
Did not support equal pay for women? (HR2831 – April 2008)
Skipped votes on the last 13 energy policy related bills going back over two years?
Skipped votes on 20 straight environmental bills going back almost 3 years?

These are only a few issues. McCain has been AWOL for 2 – 3 years in the Senate on almost every issue important to the American people. Why would we elect this DO NOTHING Senator as POTUS?

Think maybe this contributed to his being shot down?!

By the way, the 50% of us making less than the nation median income pay only 2.9% of the tax burden. There isn't much left to cut. Don't believe Obama's proposals will be a net cut in taxes. They'll go up and the so-called "rich", who have seen their share of the tax burden increase dramatically under Bush will find a way to turn higher marginal rates into lower overall tax payments. Unfortunately, this can't be explained in a 15-second sound bite, which is all the politicians and news media are capable of – to our ultimate detriment.

Note that the so-called rich threshold starts just above what Congress makes.

I'm sorry If I'm not brainwashed like you, but just because I don't support a candidate does not make me a racist. In fact, my ideal presidential candidate is Colin Powell, who happens to an African-American like Mr. Obama. I don't plan on taking a bus to work, either. My car works just fine when it's cold or raining, and when it's a nice sunny day, I bike to work. I also have very healthy job security in the aviation industry. While the rest of the country is complaining about the economy, we happen to be enjoying record numbers. My healthcare is also rather cheap, affordable, and will pay for everything up to, and including, major surgery. Just because I had the drive to get out of a low-income family, and push myself to get a degree and a good job doesn't mean that I am a racist. It just means that you are lazy, and don't want to take responsibility for your own future.
