Obama ad in Ohio again blames McCain for looming job losses

Obama’s campaign released its another ad blaming McCain for the potential loss of Ohio jobs.
Obama’s campaign released its another ad blaming McCain for the potential loss of Ohio jobs.

(CNN) - One week after Barack Obama's campaign released a tough new Ohio radio ad that said Sen. John McCain and his campaign manager Rick Davis were partly responsible for the potential loss of thousands of jobs in the state, the presumptive Democratic nominee launched a TV spot Friday that makes the same charge.

Shipping company DHL is considering moves that would result in the loss of than 8,000 jobs in Wilmington, Ohio. McCain visited the town last Thursday, as workers continued to protest the proposed cuts.

"If DHL - if something happens - it's going to be like a ghost town," says local resident Chris Fisher in the 30-second spot. Morrow, Ohio resident Ed Rutherford tells viewers "I thought I was doing a good job providing for my family. And to have that taken away..." he says emotionally, adding later: "it's tough times. When it's a foreign entity, coming in and sucker punching us. That's how this felt."

"In Washington, John McCain helped pave the way for foreign-owned DHL to take over an American shipping company," says the announcer. "McCain's campaign manager was lead lobbyist for the deal. Now, thousands of Ohio jobs at risk."

The McCain camp quickly sent reporters excerpts of a report from FactCheck.Org criticizing the Obama claims. "FactCheck.org just released a report calling Obama’s recent ads accusing John McCain of costing Ohio jobs 'false,' 'misleading' and 'unsubstantiated,'" said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers. "It’s now clear that the Obama campaign’s attack on John McCain and the DHL issue - which Obama campaign manager David Plouffe called 'the most important development in the campaign' - is based on a lie."

Last Friday, the Obama radio ad timed to coincide with McCain's visit, and an AFL-CIO flier sent to 100,000 Ohio union households, made the same claims.

In response, the McCain team organized a conference call last week featuring an Ohio resident whose question to McCain at a July town hall was excerpted in the Obama radio spot.

The Obama campaign also ran a Pennsylvania radio ad last week that accused McCain of failing to protect U.S. motorcycle manufacturing jobs, as the Arizona senator visited the city of York, hometown of Harley-Davidson.

Troops Donate More Money to Obama Than McCain:

WASHINGTON — U.S. soldiers have donated more presidential campaign money to Democrat Barack Obama than to Republican John McCain, a reversal of previous campaigns in which military donations tended to favor GOP White House hopefuls, a nonpartisan group reported Thursday.

Here is another fact regarding veterans: I wonder why they gave McCain a D and Obama a B+, I guess they know more about McCain and how unfit he is than Many Americans…
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a grade of D for his record of voting against veterans (Obama got a B+), while the Disabled Veterans of America gave McCain a 20% vote rating. The Vietnam Veterans of America compiled a list of key votes, and found McCain voted against the group’s position 15 times and with the group eight times. (Obama, in contrast, voted with the VVA 12 times, and against it only once.)

Do the maths! What is McShame trying to hide?!!!!

Yes, Finally Obama has started to tell the truth about what a two faced liar John Mccain truly is. Even his real war record will start to come out and haunt him. This guy has no values will stoop to anything just to have his name in the history books right along side his huggy buddy Bush.

This is a start. McCain is using the Chicken Little strategy – "If Obama wins, the sky will fall." Of course, his ads keep spreading lies like big oil donations that were total BS and attacking tax policies that are pure figment of McCain's imagination.

There are two ads I would like to see. The first one showing all the outright lies the McCain camp has used in its commercials. The second showing how McCain has basically been AWOL in the Senate for the last two to three years. Just scroll down the screen all the important votes he has missed and highlight all the times he has failed to support our troops, energy policy improvements, environmental issues, and so on.

If you want to see McCain's voting record, visit votesmart.org. You will be horrified that we are as close as we are to electing someone who has completely shirked his Senatorial duties to the American people.

Reject Senator AWOL! Embrace a more positive future. Obama '08

Have all the Obamabots failed to notice that the economy was fine until the dems took the house and senate in 2006? I think the Obamabots need to realize that being angry is not the answer and thinkning for a minute is. Your venom is childish. Mccain is not Bush. You don't have to vote for him, but maybe you really need to do some soul searching and ask yourself why you are so angry (at Hillary at Mccain). Obama is a man, not a messiah, he might be a better candidate but he is not perfect simply because you want him to be. I am not for Obama, but I don't think our world will crumble if he are mccain get elected. We survided Carter, we'll survive the next president too. Stop being so angry and stop being sheep...all the politicians need to be held accountable, republican and democrat.

Obama told the American people that he was going to undo NAFTA while at the very SAME time telling the governments of Mexico and Canada to IGNORE what he was telling everyone else.

So, is Obama LYING to the American people or is Obama LYING to the governments of Mexica and Canada???

    Either way, he is LYING.

  15. Force will fail

Blaming others is what Obama does best.

But... what has OBAMA himself EVER done for his country?

I mean... besides complain, preach and run for the next higher office.

Obama forced himself on the democrats, he believed that he could win simply because all democrats and most other Americans would simply vote democratic in the end.

    Apparently not.

Force and threats generally do not encourage votes.

What a bunch of cry babies. McCain has been putting out so many negative ads about Obama not being patriotic enough, and he's a celebrity, and how he'll wreck the economy.

Then Obama puts out an ad that links someone from the campaign to DHL. A lobbyist and now you get McCain supporters crying..? Get real you sissy Americans. Obama isnt a tool like you think he is. He's not some sissy who lets you dog him 24/7 and not expect a reaction back.

Ohhh and Ive kept my mouth closed for too long. To all you Pumas..
What the heck is wrong with you? You're gonna vote for McCain?

    WHOCARES??????????

If you look at the polls, Obama is winning without you! Get lost, Go vote for GWB # 2 The real Democrats along with Hillary Clinton are moving forward without you. We dont need you. We never did. P.S. Obama won the nomination. His supporters worked hard the win. obviously celebrity status like clinton wasnt good enough for you rock fans.

Please dont cry to us about how unfair women have it in life either. voting for Mccain would make your life even worse. Ohh by the way... Obama wasnt sexist, it was the media...too bad you think Obama controls the media too. Get a brain.

McCain and republicans are an economic disaster waiting to "pile on" the already disasterous republican and Bush disaster of the past 8 years! When are people going to learn that republicans are only interested in helping their corporate chums and ONLY their corporate chums no matter how much the american public suffers?

Why is it that Bush is on vacation again? It seems that anytime there is a serious problem (remember Katrina?) Bush goes on vacation?Too bad he didn't leave town for good 8 years ago!McCain will be more of the same except he'll probably declare war on Iran,Pakistan,Afghanistan and Russia in his first 2 weeks in office!

Did any of you Obama robots even read the fact check article? I doubt it. I also doubt if Richard from DE is a real person. More likely a script bot used to post on boards so that Republicans feel that their entire party is jumping ship.

Here is a tidbit. The Obama-heads think their one million new voters will seal the dea. I got news for you. For every 100 new voter registrations, only three will actually vote. The reason most people fill out voter registrations at these drives is to get a free prize. I have seen packs of Marlboro being given away.

Anyone who is wary of Obama's socialist rhetoric, take heart to the fact that McCain still leads most poles of 'likely voters' which is all that counts. Most people who are going to vote for McCain hang up on pollsters when contacted. Most Obama fans... Oops supporters will gladly answer these calls.

I am not saying McCain is guaranteed victor... far from it., but Obama supporters seem to be already picking out furniture for the LIncoln bedroom. Big mistake.
