PAC touts Obama's faith in new ad

(CNN) - A political action committee organized by Christian voters who support Barack Obama will run an ad this weekend suggesting “the character and faith of each candidate” should be a major factor for religious voters making their presidential pick – and that the presumptive Democratic nominee may hold an edge on that front.

“Barack is a strong man of Christian faith,” Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell says in first ad from the Matthew 25 Network, airing Saturday during the Saddleback Forum on CNN. Adds Catholic theologian Lisa Cahill, “He understands the pressure that families are under and what it takes to help families thrive.”

The group is hoping the ad helps bolster public awareness of Obama’s Christianity. The presumptive Democratic nominee has repeatedly emphasized his faith throughout the campaign season, as he battled back against false rumors that he is a Muslim.

Obama is the only candidate the Matthew 25 Network has endorsed this election cycle, though organizers have said they hope to expand their reach to other contests in future campaign cycles.

Well have fun supporting destructive policies rather than Obama's, which by the way, mirror Clinton's platform in many ways. Clinton supporters really are an arrogant bunch... arrogant to the point of dangerous. Go ahead and vote in McCain, but remember that you have signed away your right to protest his awful policies.

Yet another group out there helping Obama fight the lies of the opposition. It should be obvious at this point the lies will not work this time. Maybe they Repugs should try running on the issues? OH THAT'S RIGHT, Their positions on the issues suck.
Give tax breaks to busisnesses. Shift the tax burden to the people. Institute economic policies that keep the rich RICH and the poor can just go to hell. And let us not forget the war that was started based on lies issued by the current administration.
These guys are going down and they know it. I believe if they started telling the truth for once instead spreading lies, fear and hate, they might actually do better. But, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
    Keep trying Repugs....keep tryin'

OBAMA '08 DEMOCRATS '08 AND FOREVER!

As a man who believes women shouldn’t hold high level government positions, I’d like to thank all the rabid Hillary supporters for proving my point.
Your conspiracy theories are irrational and so are you . Some democrats may love barack huseine obama, but people who have a sound mind know that he isn’t powerful enough to get thousands to conspire with him to steal the candidacy from your Hillary.
You hormone laden minds tell you that the rules don’t apply to you if it doesn’t go your way. Hell you don’t even take the time to learn the rules anyway. You didn’t see us republicans screaming about losing half the delegate votes from our states. Why because those are the rules, we follow them and don’t whine.
But here you are acting out of pure irrational emotions. Well ladies, we don’t need a democrat in office, let alone any out of control emotional woman. So I thank you for proving my point and helping us to elect someone who will use his mind to make decisions, not his emotions.

Caldwell, you are going to hammer McCain for a joke as being somehow un-Christian, but have no problem anointing the most pro-death, excuse me, pro-choice candidate EVER and the most current pro-choice politician in the country.
I beg you Obama folks to look at SB 1095 a bill that Obama SQUASHED himself that would have allowed for doctors to save the LIFE of an INNOCENT BABY that had the audacity to survive being aborted, he will not allow for the doctors to SAVE THE BABIES LIFE.
How about him saying that if his teenage daughters got pregnant he "would not want them being PUNISHED by having a baby".
Excuse me Mr. Caldwell, how CHRISTIAN IS THAT?
Maybe he like "others" likes him for ONE REASON ONLY?

i dont know any true christians who would support infantcide by voting against the bill to treat babies who live through abortion. by not allowing medical care for these children, the infant was left to die. how does obama sleep at night knowing his vote left innocent newborns to die in a dirty closet?

Yes it's really a time someone put a light on McCaine past. Also republicans boast christanity as their credentials, most of them have contradictory lifestyles. To me most of them look like oil thugs from the south.

One candidate is a family man who has always been married to the same woman and who has a happy and healthy family. Both the husband and the wife worked hard for their educations and for everything they've gotten in life.

One candidate divorced his first wife when she was disfigured by a car accident, and abandoned his children with her. He married the woman he was having an affair with, a multimillionaire beer heiress half his age. He got his military position because his dad was an Admiral, and he funded his political career with inherited beer money from his second wife.

One of those candidate is a Democrat. The other is a Republican. Guess which is which.

That beauty contest included topless, some bottomless, and simulated sex acts with bananas. Add that to adultry (while his wife was recovering and disfigured in a car accident), spousal physical abuse, and the women enjoying being raped by an ape joke- and this guy has a poor history of family values.

Richard in Delaware. Good try. If you are indeed a republican I can see where you would identify with Obama. Republican in Delaware would be as rare as a crack head welfare receiptent looking for work.

From what I've heard, Obama has the support of most Christians. McCain cheated on his first wife and perpetrates war – true Christians are not cool with that.

Obama is a Christian. He has been baptised. All of you Christians MUST know there is No Litmus test to believe and to be a child of God. . God loves all who believe. God is not a politician nor does he cast judgment on either side.

  20. Not even for dog catcher

Obama stated I would not want my teenage daughters punished by having a baby if they got pregnant.

Obama is AGAINST allowing for doctors to save the lives of INNOCENT BABIES that had the audacity to be born alive and breathing OUTSIDE THE WOMB post abortion.

That does not sound Christian to me.

You Obamabots can deny these facts and point to a new nuanced position disguised as BS, but he ALONG with 11 other Senators voted present and when this came up in Illinois HE ALONE SQUASHED it as the head of the Senate, HE ALONE.

No spin, NO lies, this is TRUE.

WHY IS CNN AND THE OTHER MSM NOT REPORTING ABOUT JOHN McSHAME FAMILY BUSINESS DEALS WITH ROGUE NATIONS AND HIS 2ND WIFE CINDY INVESTMENT IN GENOCIDE DARFUR, SUDAN?!!!!

THIS IS THE REAL JOHN McSHAME:
McCain's worth over $100 million... He owns 10 houses... He flies around on a $12.6 million corporate jet... He walks around in ITALIAN $520 loafers. If John McCain lost his Social Security, he'd get by just fine. Would you?"

More: "John McCain wants to gamble with our Social Security... John McCain started receiving Social Security when he turned 65. But now he has a risky scheme to privatize Social Security - threatening our benefits."
