Rapid response: McCain ad slams Obama ad

McCain's campaign is respond to Obama's ad.
McCain's campaign is respond to Obama's ad.

(CNN) - John McCain's campaign hit back hard Friday at a Barack Obama television ad suggesting the Arizona senator is partly responsible for looming job losses in the crucial battleground state of Ohio.

In the McCain campaigns new 30-second spot designed to specifically counter the Obama ad, an announcer states it is actually the Illinois senator's policies which will hurt Ohioans the most.

"It's Obama's taxes that will hurt Ohio families," the announcer states. "Higher taxes on your paycheck, your life savings, your electric bills."

The McCain ad echoes another commercial from the campaign released earlier Friday that claims Obama's tax policies will lead to an "economic disaster."

Update 7:25 pm: The Obama campaign released the following statement in response to the McCain campaign's new ad "Maybe": “John McCain would rather distort Sen. Obama’s record than own up to his role in the deal that has put 8,200 Ohio jobs in jeopardy. The people of Southwest Ohio are quickly learning they can expect anything but straight talk from Sen. McCain,” said Obama Ohio Communications Director Isaac Baker.

Frankly, these attacks about Obama's plan don't bother me one bit. This election, turnout and interest will be high enough to counter the "ignorant vote." The truth about the plan will be proven and once again McCain will be discredit. Only the truly uninformed will buy McCain's distortions. Those folks won't be enough for a win.

Can we drop the TV ads and show us some debates?

You won't do TV ads when our country is in crisis.
We want to see how you fare against your opponent in real time.

Both candidates are distorting the records of the other, it's just McCain has more of a record than Obama. Also, to the people who think Obama won't raise taxes except on those making $250,000 or more: Do you think that's going to pay for all the things he says he's going to do? He's going to have to lower that income level to get you the health care, renewable energy and everything else he promises.

    Red Blooded American:

You're funny. You're actually praising a guy for an out and out lie. What McCain is saying is the EXACT opposite of Barack's policy and position.

Maybe if I come out and say Red Blooded American... you're really a communist!... maybe I'll have people here cheering me on... even knowing that this would be a flat out lie.

I hope being a red blooded american isn't interprited as being a moron. With your comments.. I hope you change your name on here soon. :)

The repubs on this board will slam Obama no matter what his stance.. if his policies hurt the poor... he's an economic disaster waiting to happen. If his policies help the poor... he's a marxist or a socialist...

So... can one of you crazy repubs tell me which way you want it? Do you want to help people with lesser means or do you want to keep them down. You can't have it both ways!

it must be nice to be in obama's position, because he as accomplished diddley he can complain about those who have. McCain was a hero when the jobs were saved and others added now that the economy calls for cutbacks he's a bum. for the record sen. obama's most recognized accomplishment as a lawyer was to defend is buddy tony rezko he left that to become a community organizer accomplishments none then he left that to become a sen. accomplishments to date very little. obama reminds me of jack cafferty who daily degrades people who have accomplished so much in their life while he as done what. so McCain wears $500.00 loafers i wear $600.00 orthotics because i have spurs on my heels i don't tell people about it but if it was McCain i guess that would be news. obama ran out and bought a house he could barely afford as soon as he made a few bucks, the deal was so tight he needed rezko's help to complete it, so whose showing off trying to show their moving on up

Factcheck discredits Obamas ad as not true. Obama has no economic policy other than tax, tax, tax. There is no way to pay for all he promises without raising taxes on everyone. Obama has no record on voting for lower taxes in the US Senate or IL Senate.

Would someone please put out an Amber Alert?? The Democratic Party has been kidnapped by a cult of starry eyed people, with the maturity of teenagers, who are in love with The Obama. Call me when Democrats again have a "political" party. Meanwhile, I will vote Republican to keep these radicals from destroying our country.

Higher taxes on whose paychecks? On whose electric bills? On whose life savings? Here's how out of touch McCain is and how uninformed he thinks the general public is: My paycheck will most likely have lower taxes or no change.....My electric utility company has just been given the go ahead to raise my rates up to 30%, but since the rate increase will take place over the next several years, after Obama wins the election no doubt the republicans will say the dems are to blame.....I have no life savings left after having to beg, borrow and steal from every account available to me to put gas in my car. Why isn't McCain as rapid at responding to questions about matters that are important to voters.

At what point will McCain start talking about his platform and explaining his deplorable voting record and answering questions about his lack of moral fiber?

Let's start with McCain explaining why he demands that Congress get back to work in order to vote on the energy bill, which vote was on the floor only 5 days earlier and WHY was McCain again absent like he was absent for all 8 votes? One of those 8 votes he was in his office and refused to go to the floor to cast his vote.

I'm just tired of these mud slinging campaign tactics... Can't two politicians just talk about what THEIR plans are and not dig up their opponents past? Look what it did, as democrats our best hope for a peaceful and fruitful next four years was a partnership between Obama and Clinton but Obama didn't play fair and now there is no hope for democrats and pardon the language but the republicans are S.O.L. too.

Those people making more than 250K are mostly small businessmen who are investing, providing jobs, keeping growth in our economy. They are paying around 35% of their income to the government. Common sense please...
The Bush tax cuts is the reason why we are still in business, considering the economic growth in China anj India.
