RNC reports $26 million in June, nearly matching McCain

McCain and the RNC are well-positioned financially.

(CNN) - The Republican National Committee reported Friday it raised $26 million in July, a fundraising haul that nearly matches John McCain's campaign during the same timeframe, and had approximately $75 million cash on hand.

The RNC and the McCain campaign combined began the month of August with $96 million cash on hand, a total that may keep pace with Barack Obama and the relatively cash-strapped Democratic National Committee.

Earlier Friday, the McCain campaign announced it had raised $27 million in July, the presumptive Republican nominee’s largest one-month fundraising total to date. The campaign also said it had $21 million cash on hand, all of which must be spent before the party's convention in early September because of McCain's choice to accept federal campaign dollars. The Republican Party is free to spend its money through Election Day.

The RNC also announced Friday it had surpassed one million individual donors this election cycle, while the McCain campaign said 600,000 individuals had donated to the Arizona senator. Earlier this week, the Obama campaign announced it had passed the two million donor mark.

Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Committee have yet to announce their fundraising hauls for the month of July. For June, the Illinois senator's campaign reported raising $52 million with more than $72 million cash on hand. The DNC raised $22 million during that time period, all of which was available to spend.

Poor misguided child! Under McCain, we'll go from recession to depression.. and 8 years from now, you probably still won't be old enough to vote.

McCain still doesn't have a chance, especially after denouncing Russia for attacking Georgia.

"In the 21st century, countries don't invade each other."

Really, Johnny? What about that time you voted to invade Iraq?

Oh silly child, she doesn't realize the person on that sign she is holding is going to leave her with a earth that is severely destroyed, so much money in debt, going to put us in another Great Depression, and will probably make her go to Iraq when she gets to the age of 18.

McCain and the Repuglicans have set the tone alright... the tone for SLIMEYNESS!! The more you educate yourself with the facts... the more you will see right thru the shallowness and failed policies of Bush AND McBush.

Besides... after the whole 'tire gauge' incident', it’s OBVIOUS that the GOP prides themselves on being ignorant. Way to go, GOP!! 'Ignorant' is the new 'Cool'.

McCain's campaign staff is just LOADED with lobbyists, it's no wonder they're tied to Abramoff. The GOP party is ENTIRELY about the money... about scandal and dishonesty... why do you think we've been calling it a 'Culture of Corruption'? They are just rife with it... overflowing, to be exact. This isn't an opinion... just count all the scandals in the news over the past 8 years. Let the facts speak out!! Even McCain has the Keating 5 and his infidelity. Remember that??

McCain is just another Bob Dole... lacking in luster and electability, and empty suit that will do or say anything to get elected. He has no character or substantial policies of his own, so all he can do is attack, attack, attack. They may have been great Veterans, but they're both lousy politicians. WAKE UP, AMERICA!!

you know what I realized. People blame Bush for higher gas prices, yet every other European country has gas prices that rose faster than ours did. Now, can any of you democrats who blame Bush explain that one? I say let's drill for our own oil, so we don't have to just have the same oil prices as every other country. And this is why universal things are no good, such as universal health care. Think about it.

Hey CNN – doing your JOB as an independant reporter, not GOP talking points.

When a McCain attack ad comes out, help us understand what is truth and a lie.

Point out the quotes for the Wall Street Journal are from the OP-ED page!!!!

Point out that Obama plan is a tax cut for those earning$ 32K to $112K and the folks taking the hit are earning 2.9 MILLION plus!!!

Point out that McCain's plan gives those making 2.9 MILLION a $250K tax BREAK!!!!

As the media, your job is to report the TRUTH not propagate the lies of a McCain attack ad.

Who ever claimed the media had a love affair with Obama certainly are not reading the main stream media. I say it is a McCain love affair.
