(CNN) - Interesting that McCain brought up the issue of his own personal failings, in light of the recent John Edwards scandal. He never quite acknowledges it, but he is the one who mentioned it.
What was the McCain scandal with his first wife? I didn't hear about it.

mccain did not talk of his own personal failings. what kind of hack reporter is this?
mccain briefly mentioned he failed in his first divorce, without citing any details what so ever. nor did he mention cheating.
he immediately changed the subject after acknowledging his divorce and began talking of the country again.
how about some real reporting.

What are you talking about, Bill? Maybe CNN could, I don't know, DO A STORY ABOUT IT?
We got two weeks worth of "Sweetie-Gate", but McCain leaves his disfigured first wife for a rich young blonde, and we get nada.

Mccain didn't go into detail on any of the questions. It was an ordinary stump speech or campaign. Mccain wasn't personal because he didn't go into detail on his first marriage or why it was a moral mistake, he didn't go into detail on his faith belief but he spoke for 10 minutes on Russia or Iraq. It was Obama who made refferences with his mom and grandmother that we havent heard before unlike Mccain with the same old story with a twist. Mccain doesn't want us to know who he is and why he stands for what he stands for. Why?

McCain never acknowledged his failings... he acknowledged his marraige as a failing.
McCain – committed adulty, left a wife and small kids ( that do not interact with him, today), and married his mistress. He devastated his children and more than likely left his wife feeling rejected and worhtless.
His short comings were never addressed.
All I got from McCain.... especially the comment about why he wanted to be president was
1.) If you can't get your own healthcare the heck with you
2.) If you can't educate your kids, then He has the perfect job for them... SOLDIER to fight in the wars that he will begin and die before they every end
And the right says BArack is the Antichrist... I think the right needs to check the man who rarely mentioned GOD, Christ or any of the precepts and foundations of the Faith he claims as his. All his answers were self edifying
Funny .... Barack who is humble and says he relys on God.... The evangelicals shun.
I am glad I am not an evangelical, but a Christian, a follower of Christ and not politics.

Tonight was a staged set-up for McCain. He said everything the conservatives wanted to hear. That crowd was for McCain. McCain is completely one sided and unreasonable. Obama is what this country needs, because these issues, they are gray areas. The whole country is not a country of just evangelicals, and McCain, as well as the evangelicals, NEED TO GET THAT THROUGH THEIR THICK SKULLS!

Yeah, he jsut doesn't want you to know the rest of the story.
That he turned his back on his wife after she was seriously injured in a car accident, committed adultery, and left the mother of his children when he found a younger, wealthier woman. (This is all public record, not induendo)
Hmmm...these are nice family values. Evangelicals should be very proud!
Worse, McCain didn¹t tell the truth about this in his own memoir. McCain insisted that he was separated from his first wife before he began dating his second wife. That¹s simply not true.
McCain also insisted he¹d been divorced for months before remarrying. That wasn¹t true, either. (In fact, the LAT reported, ³McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first
wife.²)

CNN Basis Analysis...
Why is his own pesonal failing not mention in this article. The failing he mentioned was his first marriage and why is this article buried in the articles about Barack Obama's comments.
CNN, I enjoyed the coverage of the forum, but I have to say that there are hints of CNN being basis in the analysis.

John McCain was on his game, he was irreconcilible on every issue, uncompromising, thuwart, conventional, alienistic, hard, symbol of the old guard, partisan, old politics, old washington, old way of thinking, nonfuturistic in thinking and nonintrusive as usual. But, he wants Americans to believe, he is diplomatic, a communicator, thinker, non-partisan, compromiser, thoughtful and caring. He is dangerous for America and the World! As a leader whose idol is Ronald Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt Whose big stick, cowboy policies helped to shape republican ideology, I am strongly concerned that if he is elected, their will be less diplomacy and numerous Wars and conflicts around he'll draw America into, to support their political platform. We have that already with George Bush, and our country is reeling due to supreme egotistical, arrogant, lone ranger mentality. The hundreds of hours of rehearsal paid off for McCain today, he did a George Bush on America again today! When will we wake up! Look like its back to the future again! Will we ever learn! Will this country ever begin to realize World War III will happen when we have leaders wh are ardent uncompromising agents their ideology who will forcefully succuumb every country in the world if possible to our countries detriment.. America Notice John McCain did not confess to Adultery or abandoning his invalid wife! Barack did confess to mral failure of drugs and alcohol! What a difference!

McCain has a life time of examples of his poor decision making....time after time he has hard luck stories to share....and he is a priviliged kind of guy...he has no understanding of the regular citizen and doesn't care to...he only has his own vision and does not relate to other points of view. He is very limited in his"world view" and that is scary of all of us normal people. For example, I am pro-life (for me) but feel all women should have a CHOICE.

He mentioned his "first marriage", but didn't say why it ended. He answered quickly and moved on, avoiding the real issue. And you're giving him credit for it. Why can't the media talk about it? Even in your post, you don't say it... ADULTERY. McCain cheated on his wife.
Is there some secret media pledge to not say it?? McCain CHEATED ON HIS WIFE. Why is it impossible to talk about in the mainstream media??

John McCain is going to have to mention it alot more in the future. He's going to have to explain what type of morales he has to leave a crippled wife behind for a wealthy young model. What kind of man is he. What kind of homewrecker did he take up with? How could she show her face in public and actually sneer down at others.

Okay, so he opened the door. I am waiting to see if someone actually walks in and asks him why the failure of his first marriage was a moral failure on his part. If marriages fail without someone having done something to cause that failure, it is just a tragedy. For it to be a personal moral failing is an admission that the person in question committed some sort of immoral act to cause the marriage to breakdown (like cheating on a disabled wife with a much younger, much richer woman). So friends in the media, are you going to pursue that one, or just let it drop?
