The Real Sen. McCain, knowingly misleads and Lies Too Much To Be President.

TK, Dallas, TX   August 17th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

I saw the Obama and mccain forum last might and overall that it was good none of the gotcha moments but I have been reading over the Internet that mccains story about the "cross in the sand" might have been a lie. One of the articles I read states that it came from a Russian prisoner in the gulag named Alexander Solzhenitsyn and also in a detailed report given to US news and world report after mccain came back from Vietnam he did not mentioned that story even though his report was about 12, 000 words long.

pat C.   August 17th, 2008 9:15 pm ET

if macain was not in the building when the session with obama started then he could have received this information by cell phone from the church. we all know for a fact that he knew the guestions before hand or he could not have answered the question before it was asked. this was probably a plan all along to have him run late just for this reason. how low can this man sink to be elected. i am almost certain cindy mccain was sitting in the audiance earlier as the cameras were scoping out the crowd. i think this needs to be investigated because it goes to the integrity of both candidates.
this is appearing to be a sham.

churchill   August 17th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

I have heard some pundits praise Mccain's sharp and confrontational (hawkish) disposition to very complicated questions/ issues as strength of character.
I disagree. To me this shows how reckless this man will be as commander in chief. A leader should be very thoughtful and methodical in approach. Never brash.

Jeff, South Bend, IN   August 17th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Give me a break with the cast on the wrist, you pansy. Try working for a living like the rest of us – people who get busted up and crippled working blue-collar jobs, and can't buy top healthcare like you can, or to fly around on a private jet like you lot.

The McCains are complete elitists who have no idea what the real world is like.

I OWN MY BODY, THE CHOICE IS MINE, NOT THE REPUBLICANS!   August 17th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

McCain or should I say McCheat at the faith forum should be ashamed of stooping to such a low level to gain votes. It is obvious McCheat knew the questions before they were asked. Before Warren finished the question on Education, McCheat answered yes, yes, and kick the bad teachers out. How did he know that was a three part question. How could he possibly know about the supreme court topic. JOHN MCCAIN IS A LYING, CHEATING, PANDERING OLD MAN AND I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR HIM NOW.

Pepo   August 17th, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Looks like the McCains should stop shaking hands for fear of ending up paralyzed ...

aware   August 17th, 2008 8:13 pm ET

McCain 08! :)

Obama is losing it because he doesn't get it!

Sharon Antes   August 17th, 2008 8:10 pm ET

Why does Cindy McCain have such a huge bandage for a sprain????

Monica, Texas   August 17th, 2008 8:09 pm ET

So McCain did not violate "cone of silence" although he was 30 min. late to the forum; this is per Charlie Black hmmmmm you mean to say that in his motorcade he does not have satellite radio? While he may not had a TV all they would had to do would tune into CNN on XM...duh!!!!

NEVER OBAMA   August 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

What a fake. Have you noticed how HUMBLE he's trying to act. He's FAKIN' it til he makes it.

Steve - Wyoming   August 17th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

I sure hope Cindy is ok!

montana   August 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Obama looks much more relaxed and comfortable.

seektruth   August 17th, 2008 7:52 pm ET

he could be adviced by his advicers by cell phone, prepairing all the answers to same questiobs ahead of time the all the top advicers! “he was in the cone of a Secret Service motorcade”.it is very possibleit is very possible
this is how they estimate American people's intelligence ?. they insult millions American intelligences by comparing Obama to Hilton...they dismiss the power of people...a American people' leader (Brack Obama)of course popular than special interests ' leader(John McCain).

Frank   August 17th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

Is that a Starbuck's latte in Cindy McCain's good hand? What's going on? Will she be driving a Volvo (or, even worse, a Prius) next? Well, I'm sure John McCain prefers Dunkin Donuts coffee, so that must mean he'd be a good president. After all, a politician's dietary choices are so much more important than his intelligence, integrity, and judgment....

Paula in WI   August 17th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

I've had far more serious sprains than a handshake and never needed to sport a cast for attention. What a drama queen.

Chris in SC.   August 17th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

Awww!! The McCains deserve some sympathy. That must be a horrible, horrible injury.

Raymond Duke   August 17th, 2008 7:24 pm ET

I guess you thought you ought to do a few Photo Ops with some WHITEYS since it isually is blacks that are always hanging around him.

Brian   August 17th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

More plastic surgery for Cindy? Oh well she has 10 houses to heal in...... John the Man of the people, Can I borrow your private Jet?

Why not?   August 17th, 2008 7:02 pm ET

Cripes! Cindy McCains bandage gets bigger every day!!

Griff   August 17th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Candy Crowley???? Take 'The Smarty's', and Run...

Leah DiMarco, Texas   August 17th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Good photos!
Obama with the American people,
and Cindy McCain with her latte and purple phone!
And is that McCain holding his Iphone? The one he used to watch Paster Warren's questions and Obama's responses to the forum last night?

TJ Williams   August 17th, 2008 6:51 pm ET

"Pastor" Rick is a LIAR. McCain was not in a cone of silence. He didn't arrive until30 minutes later. He had complete access to the show before he came on stage. The whole thing was a lie set up to make McCain look good. America has been duped again by MSM.
CNN, MSNBC, FOX, all should be ashamed to promote this farce. At lease Obama is HONEST. I wouldn't trust McCain with my cat....

The Nightingale Sings in Berkley Square   August 17th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

If you like abortions, you will love Obama. He would even have his daughter have one, I've heard. Under his leadership, you probably could go to the five and dime and pick up one.

He is certainly risky and it would be a gamble for him to be in charge.

Obama also likes the taxes. The more the merrier. He will tax you and spend your money. Probably on a vacation to Hawaii where he can body surf.

McCain will protect your wallet, your values and your country. With Obama it would be a gamble. I don't want to gamble with my life and my country.

Megan   August 17th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

You can tell a lot by a picture. Now if you were to label one of these candidates 'elitist' and 'overprivileged', which one would you pick? The one with his sleeves rolled up extending a handshake to young supporters at a high school or the one with his wife whos wearing a full hand and wrist cast for a SPRAIN, carrying starbucks and each holding a cell phone?

DR. YES   August 17th, 2008 6:45 pm ET

obama looks like he's ready and rearing to go .the mccains look like they're ready for long term recovery.

Barbara   August 17th, 2008 6:26 pm ET

I've just lost all respect for Candy Crowley and Bill Schneider. The are in McCain's pocket – to say the very least.

Barbara   August 17th, 2008 6:24 pm ET

AHA – McCain WAS NOT in the cone of silence – he could have heard questions and answers long before he got to the church in So. CA.

He cheats and lies and people praise him – what a DORK !!!!!!!

Barbara   August 17th, 2008 6:18 pm ET

No flag pin again – wasn't he the one that made a big flap about the flag pin?

Of course, he flaps (and flips and flops) on everything –

No to war – No to McWarmonger

Obama '08

Cindy   August 17th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

Don't try to shake my hand you unemployed whiney ruffians.
