WASHINGTON (CNN) – With vice presidential speculation reaching fever pitch, Barack Obama's campaign said Tuesday that the Democrat will campaign in central Virginia later this week alongside V.P. contender Gov. Tim Kaine.
Kaine and Obama will host an invitation-only town hall meeting on Thursday in Chesterfield County, a suburb of Richmond. Kaine's sturdy performance in the traditionally conservative Richmond suburbs helped vault him to the governorship in 2005.
Kaine, the former mayor of Richmond, is widely regarded as one of the three top candidates for a slot on the Democratic ticket, along with Delaware Senator Joseph Biden and Indiana Senator Evan Bayh.
Obama has scheduled a campaign event for Saturday at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois, where he kicked off his presidential bid - but the campaign would neither confirm or deny whether the candidate will appear with his running mate.
Obama will also stump in the commonwealth on Wednesday with Virginia’s other two Democratic stars, Senator Jim Webb and former Governor and current Senate candidate Mark Warner, who is scheduled to keynote the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Tim Kaine would be an excellent choice for Obama! Their policies are so much alike. Together they can expand government social programs and spending until our country is *cough* "great"!

The though of the VP being someone other than Biden
makes me physically sick. Bayh and Kaine are great but
Obama needs Joseph Biden JR. He even looks the part
with Obama. They remind me of the characters played by

John Grisham movie "A Time To Kill," They would be

that obama man sure does a lot of stumping on somebody else's coat-tails. one thing we can't accuse him of, is standing up for himself by himself.
Kaine just looks scary to me and what's more his resume is even thinner than Obama's. Not the ticket I would want to run this country. And as for Biden (he's about as arrogant as Obama), and Bayh seems like a good guy, but again light on experience (sorry but I think you've got to have experience to make good judgments).

Obama has to pick Kaine. He is the newly elected Governor of Virginia. Of all of the names mentioned he is the only one with less experience than Obama.

Guess they don't want to answer any hard questions just pre-screened ones. Guess after he fumble the other night you would expect this. Obama is a joke, he has no principles, he'll say anything to get people to vote for him. Maybe that's why more people are seeing through him now. He came down to Houston, TX to hang out with the wealthy Dems to raise money but wouldn't show his face anywhere else, wonder why?
