Obama's event Saturday is at Springfield’s Old State Capitol, where he launched his presidential campaign.

(CNN) – Barack Obama's campaign confirms that the Illinois senator will hold an event in his home state Saturday, kicking off the "roll into the convention" - but would not confirm or deny reports that he might be joined on stage by a running mate.

The event will be held in the Old State Capitol in Springfield - where Obama first launched his presidential bid a year and a half ago.

"Be the first to know." Hmmmmm ....... Ironic Hillary and Barack have coined the same quote in separate venues.

It's going to take the drive and experience of both to pull this great nation out of the sludgepot and redeem the values we once had within the global community.

All you sour pusses stop raining on the parade....if you are not going to be a positive influence and enjoy the moment go blog on McCain's articles. Life is too short (per Hillary Clinton) to not get on with this nomination and election. There are LOTS OF AMERICANS who desperately need you to VOTE for the USA ...not your selfish feelings ....We are all working together to make YOUR lives better...in spite of yourselves.

    All you PUMA's are idiots!

You would rather vote for someone against everything Hillary was for than vote vote a Black man is stood for almost everything that HIllary was for.

If you are a true Democrat then your choice is simple Barack Obama

If you choose McCain for no better reason than Hillary's loss then you are not only acting like a selfish little child, you are obviously ignorant too since McCain is the Anti-HIllary. Say bye bye to everything HIllary stood for if he wins and for what? Your sore loser baby pride?

Grow up and look at what is important – THE ISSUES not YOU. Obama is the next best thing to your Hillary. He won! Personally I liked him better in the first place. Hillary is NOT Bill.

Your precious HIllary lost fair & square by the rules she agreed on then tried to change in the middle of the game. Deal with it and move on for the love of this country....GROW UP!

No disrespect to the Hillary supporters but get over it!!! Voting is an option there is no law that says you have to vote so STAY HOME!!

Barack doesn't need Hillary to win but she needs him to help pay off her debt. I'm sure you contributed your $1.50 Joshua, Yolanda and Ann. If not SHAME ON YOU!!!!

I’m extremely disappointed in the response that a hand full of Clinton supporters have. All the major principles of being a member of the Democratic Party, shoved aside, because your candidate of choice is not going to lead the party in the Presidential election this year. Sad…. I would never dishonor my right to vote and our ability to reverse the a faulty government we’ve had the past few years. If you do not vote for the Democrats this year, you’re a traitor to the party. If you vote Republican, you’re a traitor to America!

    Shame on you all.

Thank God we have a American running for President, John McCain.
Thank God McCain will not raise our taxes.
Thank God McCain will keep us safe, just like President Bush did.
Thank God McCain is not a Muslin.
Thank God McCain has Americans as his interest.
Thank God McCain is not a ROCK STAR.
Thank God the Democrats will lose in 08.

Obama keeps giving these speeches because he needs to be adored. What do you bet that they will contain the same old boring platitudes and that the members of his cult won' t even notice what he's saying?

Joshua first learn how to spell independent. Then think about how stupid you sound voting against your interest for the sake of what "the so called dream ticket". It's not hard to see who has the American People's interest at heart and who has the Corporate Sell all of what we are interest at heart.

Why would Obama want a bagge like Hillary, who can't even responsibly run her campaign and who stands for status quo?

A VP is second in command. There is no way that I will ever vote for Obama/Hillary if he is dumb enough to pick her.

Anyway, why do we need to revive the Clinton dynasty?
    No more Clinton or Bush!

If you think that Barack Obama is you light and savior you are very wrong. A man with 4 years of political experience. Would you hire a clerk to run the biggest company in the world? I don't think so....wake up and see the green behind Obama's ears.
ps. Why is a half white man running as a black candidate???

I hope Obama stop in Wisconsin! That would be cool. Anyways, I hope Obama picks Biden, Richardson, or Feingold as his VP.

    To Clinton Supporters:

Seriously, If Obama doesnt want to have Hillary as he VP, get over it please, and if your not voting for Obama because Hillary is not the VP, seriously think about what your doing, Do you really want another four years of a Republican controlled Presidency?

    I dont.

maybe he'll announce how he will take our troops out of Iraq send some to Afghanistan that will leave us a bunch to go to Georgia to fight the Russians along with the billion dollars he's throwing in to start. funny how it's OK to spend money to help rebuild another country and free up troops from Iraq to put us in a position to have to send them to Georgia to be engaged in a fight with equal if not superior forces guarantying casualties if it's obama doing it
