(CNN) – Barack Obama's campaign confirms that the Illinois senator will hold an event in his home state Saturday, kicking off the "roll into the convention" - but would not confirm or deny reports that he might be joined on stage by a running mate.
The event will be held in the Old State Capitol in Springfield - where Obama first launched his presidential bid a year and a half ago.

Biden is the best choice – smart, seasoned, foreign policy expert, takes no bull, and will help get things done. Hillary has done nothing but whine and according to the Atlantic article she couldn't even run her campaign or finances effectively – who owes money and who has plenty to spare – so why would anyone want her as part of the administration. She made poor choices and she has to live by her choices just like the rest of the world. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!

Just as Abraham Lincoln knew it was time for a change in the direction of this country. So does Barack Obama. And just like everyone said Lincoln was too inexperienced. Barack is going to lose his voice of change and the Presidential bid in November, because Biden, like many other Washington politicians, is paid and bought by foreign lobbyists that will dictate White House policies if Biden is in the White House. Biden is not much different from McCain, a hot headed and radical man! Many will stay at home in Illinois, Michigan and Iowa if you choose this man as you running mate!

You don't understand. Obama can't pick Hillary. Her negatives with the Independents are huge. With conservatives her negatives are even worse and would bring out every single conservative to vote in the Fall against her. Obama would immediately fall behind Mccain in the National Polls if he were to pick Hillary. The close races in Ohio and other States would be lost because those independents and the growing number of outraged republicans would be so great Obama would immediately fall behind in these key States.
On the other hand Obama can afford to lose a few die-hard blind followers of Hillary as you and still win the election. So why would anyone in their right mind pick Hillary.
