Most companies have forced retirement of the CEO at 65. Yet here we have a 71 year old man who barely has the energy for multiple campaign stops on a single day.

I'm pretty sure most dinner meetings don't serve the dinner at 4pm.

So, he was a professor, he was editor of the Harvard Law Review, he was born in the US.

Actually, Jack, Obama was a law professor at University of Chicago Law School for 12 years...teaching constitutional law.

Likewise, Terry, the VP is a member of the executive branch, as shown in Article II of the Constitution....yes, he is the president of the Senate, but only votes if there is a tie.

Regardless, this mindless frenzy over who Obama picks is meaningless...we'll find out when they are ready to announce, not before. My only hope is that it isn't Hillary, with her divisive political style and obvious ego-lust. He should go for someone who will help unite not jsut the party, but the nation around him....and I don't think any of the top contenders for the spot offer that.

The media has to talk about female candidates because Obama isn't taking them seriously. He is showing a level of Chauvinism which seems to be standard in Presidential politics. Women who make up 50% or more of the population don't seem to even make the final list.

Obama's message of change seems to be a fake. In a year when you have MANY qualified women to choose from, including one who got just as many votes as Obama, how can you snub women by picking another man. It seems the old boys club will be safe in Obama's hands.

If you "Democrats" vote McCain, then I would question (a) if you are a Democrat but, more importantly, (b) whether you care about where this country is going.

Plain and simple: the last 8 years have been a disaster. Although he is now trying to distance himself, McCain has said he will continue "95%" of Bush's policies, including foreign policy through intimidation, tax cuts for those who have made all the money the last 8 years, and a Supreme Court that will restrict our freedoms.

Anybody Obozo picks will have more experience than he does and be a much better-qualified candidate than he is, with the exception of Caroline Kennedy, whose only experience was living in the White House when she was a VERY small child. If Hillary had all of the support that the media says that she has she wouldn't have a problem retiring her debt.

Although it has been asked, there is never an answer to who is being polled and I firmly believe that therein lies the mystery. On another note, throughout the primaries and now in the general election I have never heard Senator Obama go negative with personal attacks against his opponents. He has always taken the high road despite the hits he has received on a daily basis and as a result has continued to rise above the divisiveness. The media with exception of a very few outlets have been biased against Obama and basically have him under a microscope yet McCain continues to get a positive free ride in the press. I like many other voters have my own suspicions as to why this continues to go on but still believe that despite these negative tactics Senator Obama will be known as the candidate who played fair despite how unfairly he was treated. This alone speaks volumes about his character.

Great; pick the weakest link and loose this one. Obama if you really want party unity pick Hillary as your running mate and you will win in November. I do not think that with a party in disarray we are going to win this one. The DNC made a fatal mistake by thinking that they will pick a candidate for us and then we will follow like cattle. WRONG… never take away the will of the people.

My vote was taken away then as a gesture of "goodwill" I got back 1/2 my vote but to the DNC please no favors we need to go by the "rules". Now I am an independent and will vote for McCain in November.
