Romney heading to Denver

Romney will take McCain’s message to Denver next week during the Democratic convention.

(CNN) – Some Republican politicians are skipping their party’s convention this year - but top McCain surrogate and GOP vice presidential contender Mitt Romney is heading to both.

A Romney representative confirmed Wednesday that he plans to crash the Democrats’ party in Denver next week.

“Governor Romney will speak to the press to set the record straight on John McCain and make the case for his election,” said a spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor.

Details are still being worked out - but contrary to reports, he will not be addressing a Republican “counter-rally.” It is more likely that he will hold a press conference accompanied by several other Republicans.

Romney was McCain’s most critical opponent during the Republican race for the nomination, but has since become a stalwart supporter. He is believed to rank highly on McCain’s vice presidential shortlist.

The Arizona senator is expected to name his choice for VP at an event in Ohio next Friday, the day after the Democratic convention ends.

Set the record straight on John McCain?

That's laughable, since not even McCain can do that one, after all "the candidate doesn't necessarily speak for the campaign"
He keeps lying and flip flopping so often he doesn't even know his positions anymore, how could Romney?

  5. McPlastic Face

Mr. McPlastic Face, who's sons were too busy with his campaign to go to a war that he endorsed, is sickening. This chicken hawk is bored at home counting his money, so he wants to go to the White House and help to send our money to Iraq.

    What losers.

Deception, misdirection, and propaganda that is the Republican way.
The conservative right wants Romney to be McCain's VP so he can select Jeb Bush as his VP if McCain decides to only do one term. Mark my words.

IS THIS THE SAME MITT ROMNEY THAT SAID JOHN MCCAIN DOESN'T KNOW ANY THING ABOUT THE ECONOMY. HE ONLY WANTS TO TALK ABOUT THE WAR. THE SAME MITT ROMNEY WHO HAS HAMMERED JOHN MCCAIN ON SO MANY ISSUES. CAN'T WAIT FOR JOHN MCCAIN TO NAME MITT VP. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE ADS WHERE MITT ROMNEY IS SAYING JOHN MCCAIN DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ECONOMICS.

Mitt Romney is a very strong surrogate. Obama on the other hand appears very weak in all of the debates and during the Georgia crisis. I think his supporters are able to ignore his weakness but the independent voters and undecideds will take notice.

Wow... Obamabots are constantly looking at and blogging polls show this and polls show that.

But all of a sudden polls don't matter when Obama is trailing... and they once again WILL matter when Obama is leading.

Maybe the polls showing Americans dislike Bush are not true either?

You frigging hypocrits just continue to insist that everyone and everything is wrong unless is supports your own bias.

Enough is enough. What other gimmick is the GOP going to try to do?
I think the DNC should send Bill Clinton to the GOP convention to
    counter attack.

Romney is so sleazy, he hates "Exxon John", but he will say anything to get on the ticket. Great ticket.... a 72 year old WARMONGER, and a 60 year old SUCK-UP.

Romney is the best choice for McCain tohave as his VP. Romney has the experience, talent and know how to be able to beat Obama in November.

That is unless Obama puts Hillary Clinton on the ticket as his VP.

I am one of those voters that unless Obama puts Hillary Clinton on the ticket as his VP, or better yet, the delegates decide to vote and make Hillary Clinton the nominee, I will be voting for McCain.

Need someone there to represent. The entire Dem Convention will be based on Bush bashing and trying to tie Bush and McCain as one in the same person. The Dems have been running from Barry's feeble to nothing record so they have to have something to talk about.

    HI
I'm Mitt Romney and I believe that our leader found a golden book that no one ever saw and used magic stones to translate the golden book into the book of Mormon! Yay for me!

Also as of the 1980's we officially don't believe black people are sub-human animals any more – yay for me!!!

I do however believe God lives on another planet called Kolob where I hope to visit him some day! Yay!

PS. I am not a witch and/or a worlock! Yay!

  24. REPUBLICAN FOR OBAMA

I would vote for Geoge Bush again before I would vote for McCain.

I can't imagine Christians voting for a Morman. Romney just changed from being Pro Choice to Pro Life. What does he really believe.

Romney is so arrogant. McCain and Romney act alike.

Now we have McCain who has had affairs while he was married and he is running for President just like John Edwards. How does Saddlebeck Church feel about that. Do I hear hands clapping????

Barack Obama has moral values, integrity and intelligence. He will turn this country around. We have got to have new leadership.

  25. Turn Florida blue in 2008

Mitt, your own party didn't want you. Can't you take a hint? You're the biggest panderer of all and you'll say anything to be in the spotlight. What's next? Are you going to realize that McCain's not going to win the election and suddenly start backing Obama? Then become pro choice again?

You bring new meaning to the term "douche-bag"
