Romney heading to Denver

Romney will take McCain’s message to Denver next week during the Democratic convention.
Romney will take McCain’s message to Denver next week during the Democratic convention.

(CNN) – Some Republican politicians are skipping their party’s convention this year - but top McCain surrogate and GOP vice presidential contender Mitt Romney is heading to both.

A Romney representative confirmed Wednesday that he plans to crash the Democrats’ party in Denver next week.

“Governor Romney will speak to the press to set the record straight on John McCain and make the case for his election,” said a spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor.

Details are still being worked out - but contrary to reports, he will not be addressing a Republican “counter-rally.” It is more likely that he will hold a press conference accompanied by several other Republicans.

Romney was McCain’s most critical opponent during the Republican race for the nomination, but has since become a stalwart supporter. He is believed to rank highly on McCain’s vice presidential shortlist.

The Arizona senator is expected to name his choice for VP at an event in Ohio next Friday, the day after the Democratic convention ends.

Mitt Romney is a carrying, sensitve Republican. He is no doubt going there to consul distraught Clinton supportes and letting them know the Republican party is there for them, we feel their pain and they are welcome to join us.
And I'm sure to point out to the press when Obama and the Dems giving speeches happen to mispeak on McCains positions on the issues. After all Obama is having a hard time keeping his own positions straight let alone those of Senator McCain.

The McCain Camp knows very well that the Democratic Convention will take all the news away from his campaign, and any statements, speeches, campaign stops... he attends. He also knows that even world crisis will come second to what is happening in Denver next week.

Romney is going to try to get the press's attention... but alas, it will probably barely be a foot note... just like the GOP holding fort on the House Floor this month.

With the Repubicans bailing from their own convention, distancing themselves from their own candidate and President Bush... they need any news spot... FREE News spot they can garner...

This is not a good year for anyone in the Grand OLD Party.

Obama is just what we don't need in our Country right now. We might as well have a newborn in the White House and the newborn probably would do just about the same as Obama.

Arrogant is right. It's not your show. And despite the piles of your own money spent, you lost (and to someone like McCain, that must be humiliating!). All just to get your face in the news because no one remembers you anymore...

The polls say McCain is now winning or that the race is close. All you need to do is see the comments on all these blogs and will see how lopsided things really are. Obama is going to win by so much it will leave McPhony spinning to the point his pasted comb over will detach and make a mess of things..

Yes, campaigning against Barack the annointed one just exudes arrogance doesn't it? How dare he?

He must be racist! Only racist people vote against Obama. And since he is campaigning against Obama he must be double racist!

  14. A house divided

CherryMcstrawberry... you are protesting too much. Your Bro and his Ho have made their hateful divisive bed... will take more than African Americans to get Obama elected.

It will take the activist white women who have been the backbone of the democratic party to ensure an Obama win.

Your unsophisticated desperate racially charged cherryantics are not helping persuade those voters.

Poor Mitt, with all his FLIP FLOPS, he has no idea who he is. He is not a real Republican nor is he a Democrat.

On some days he is Pro-Choice and other days he is Pro-Life. It really depends who he speaks too.

Save your breath Romney........No one wants to hear what you have to say.

I will find it strange if McCain picks you for VP you being a mormon.

Alot of christian groups feel that mormonism is a cult.

I personally feel you can believe what ever you want.......only you can answer for yourself when your time on earth is through.
