Romney heading to Denver

Romney will take McCain’s message to Denver next week during the Democratic convention.

(CNN) – Some Republican politicians are skipping their party’s convention this year - but top McCain surrogate and GOP vice presidential contender Mitt Romney is heading to both.

A Romney representative confirmed Wednesday that he plans to crash the Democrats’ party in Denver next week.

“Governor Romney will speak to the press to set the record straight on John McCain and make the case for his election,” said a spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor.

Details are still being worked out - but contrary to reports, he will not be addressing a Republican “counter-rally.” It is more likely that he will hold a press conference accompanied by several other Republicans.

Romney was McCain’s most critical opponent during the Republican race for the nomination, but has since become a stalwart supporter. He is believed to rank highly on McCain’s vice presidential shortlist.

The Arizona senator is expected to name his choice for VP at an event in Ohio next Friday, the day after the Democratic convention ends.

I fervently hope McCain picks Romney for his VP! Romney is such a craven, pandering, smug, arrogant, disingenuous politician who perfectly complements McCain's ignorance, rigid ideology and hypocritical slogans (like "victory in sight," "put America first," "drill, drill," "saved and forgiven").

When Franco died in 1975, millions of Spaniards showed up to see his body on display. A reporter asked, a Spaniard, Why did you come.
He said." I wanted to see with my own eyes if he was really dead."

Romney is in Denver to see with his own eyes and make sure that Obama is not the Messiah.

I also heard that mccain agrees the draft should be reinstated today. Go ahead repugs and christian right, sacrifice your children for this warmonger because you can't bring yourself to vote for the black guy even though you know in your heart he is the best choice and the best man. Mccain is a true patriot when it comes to sacrificing other peoples lives.

Even though I am against Romney and McCain, I think this is a strategically smart and bold move. I'm impressed.

Tom in TN wrote "YAY! Go Romney!… and I think Deniese was looking for the word "steal" not still. Still, if he can steal the spotlight and not even be on a ballet… what does that say for the dem. that are running?" ... Tom, you certainly meant "ballot". That doesn't surprise us, coming from a supporter of the wrinkly white-haired dude who doesn't recall that he knows nothing about the economy.

Because we are so gullible, we are decieved by the MSM to toe the GOP line. With their fake poll reports and exergerations of negative attacks.

But we deserve anything we get if we elect another Bush called Mccain.

It's nice to know so many of you hate Mormons out there. I guess you would also drag them into the gas chambers if St. Obama said to do so.

    Seek Obama! Seek Omama!

I don't see many Democrats sticking up for Mormons. They seem to be salivating for a good Mormon put-down just as much as some of the Evangelicals. Is there a party that would like to have the Mormons, and is willing to treat us with some human dignity? I guess we are not the partying type after all. Maybe we should be more independent.

Despite his war-mongering, fear-mongering, and hate-mongering, Romney failed to score in his war-mongering, fear-mongering, and hate-mongering party. He effectively "out-bushed" even McBush but still failed. He refuses to believe that despite being the "Biggest Bush" of them all, he was not selected because he was Mormon. The same religious bigotry he preaches! He reaps what he sows.

Fret not Obama supporters. He will win this election. Now we've hit the presidential election cycle. Game is on. The american people are smarter than re-electing Bush's pet project. We must UNITE and fight for this was never going to be easy. But it will be worthwhile on Nov 5. Mark my words..

He's only coming to get his face on TV. If none of the MSM shove a mike in his face will he show up? Ignore him and the other republicans until their own convention.

Boy the Obama supporters must really be worried. Look at all the posts on a Republican story. Nothing nice to say about their own, losing his lead, now with his weak wristed response to Georgia/Russia the rest of America sees through Obamamania.

Really if the Obamabots weren't worried why would they even post, seems to me if someone is of little consequence there wouldn't be any posts. Only someone who is a threat would justify this much attention for the Obamalites .

McCain/Romney all the way to the White House.

The GOP ia ruthless and we all know that. It's one thing to stick to the issues, but it's another to run on division and scare tacticts. Unfortunately the GOP base are weak minded individuals, or wealthy people, who could care less about the average Joe. Too bad the average Joe's are too mindless to involve themselves in the issues. More of them might actually change their minds. But then again you'd have to have on in order to use it. Soooooo sad!
