McCain ad highlights Rezko connection

McCain is out with a new ad.
McCain is out with a new ad.

(CNN) - On the heels of an aggressive effort by the Obama campaign to exploit John McCain's recent inability to recall how many houses he owns, the Arizona senator's campaign is launching a new television ad slamming Obama over his dealings with disgraced Chcago businessman Tony Rezko.

"Barack Obama knows a lot about housing problems," the 30-second ad's announcer states. "'One of his 'biggest fundraisers' helped him buy his million-dollar mansion. Purchasing part of the property he couldn't afford."

"From Obama, Rezko got 'political favors' including '14 million from taxpayers,'" the narrator also says. "Now, he's a convicted felon, facing jail."

The McCain campaign said the ad will air in "key states." Earlier Thursday, Obama's campaign released a housing ad of their own referencing his inability in a Politico interview to name the number of properties he and his wife own.

Does the McCain campaign really want to do this? With the things in McCain's closet to bring up so called "scandals" that Obama has been cleared of is rediculous. Take the Keating Five as a a perfect example.

  2. So Sad

It really is sad how the DNC threw this poor guy to the wolves.

And shunned the only candidate that could have fought them. She's been fighting (and may I add winning) them for 16 years.

And don't you love how the Obama fans quickly dispersed these past few days? I' read these every day and there are, in my opinion, half of the responses. And the other half are making fun of Sen Clinton's debt. Because that is hilarious.

McCain is now blaming Obama for his gaffes. He is an old scumbag that will do anything to win.

Every sleazy add only reinforces Obama's message, and how urgently we need change.

Another shady character Obama deals with. This one is a convicted felon. When McCain mistepped and Obama hit him on it, he might have opened a door that cannot be closed

Re. Rezko, there's very little there–see the Illinois papers that investigated this thoroughly rather than McCain's smears.

I'm hoping we get just as much detailed financial investigations about McCain's mysterious 4,6,7,8,9–whatever number–houses–especially about the acquisition deals they involve and the likely tax shelters they provide.

McCain deserves to have his 'Obama is Elitist' smear bounce back on himself as it rightly should since the McCains are far more elitist compared to regular Americans. The hypocrisy was too much to swallow.

    Cost to taxpayers:

    Rezko – $0

    McCain/Keating 5 – $150,000,000,000

Sooo, what's up with Charles Keating, Abramoff, cheating on first wife, leaving first three kids, lying about Mother Theresa, not knowing how many houses you own, your current Barbie wife's addiction to pain killers, and stealing the pain killers from organization????

Hey Obama supporters (and I'm certainly one)...we were soooooooo outnumbered.

I'm getting the feeling the gun is being held to our head. I.e. Take on all that HRC baggage or lose. HRC and Bill have some seriously bad baggage. Barack – not so much. McCain – a load of mess...but that's all that experience.

Hillary's "whip team" ....is that a team to bring about unity or does it have to do with something from the dark period in the US when African Americans were treated poorly(?) I'm just asking

I guess Obama has to dig deeper, being that mcsame has been in office for 26yrs and hasnt accomplished any thing except being invovled in corrpution....we have years too look at mcsame record. thats y i like obama, he hasnt been in washington long enough to get corrputed unlike mcsame, bush, clintion just to name a few....it seems the longer ur in washington, the more favors u owe to "special interests", lobbyists, and no favors for the american people...time for change people

Could not have said it better myself folks.

How about an Obama ad on the Keating scandal?
How about one on conflict of interest when dealing with lobbying from the alcohol industry?

Actually....and you are misrepresenting facts and just because you post obnoxiously doesn't make the story true....the house could only be bought by buying an adjacent property that cost 300K. Rezko's wife, not Rezko himself, bought the property which allowed Obama to buy the house alone, which he bought at market price. He then purchased 1/6th of the adjacent land from Mrs. Rezko at market price....there's some truth for you.

Unbelievable. This is lower than low. Those of you that condone this should be ashamed.

And vic from Nashville (of course) and others saying vote for Hillary or McCain....it's because of people like you that we have suffered with the likes of GW Bush. You are utterly clueless.

God...how I wish the west coast could secede. The "heartland" and the south have held this country back for my entire lifetime. Europe...here I come.

McCain must have some old people like him working on his campaign, because this is the way they did it in the 70's make personal attacks, and not stick to the issues.
Wow, I think this is a joke!

McCain has a very short memory of his own. Tony Rezco dosen't compare to Joe Bonanno, (yes that one), who retired in Arizona and became one of John McCain's closest friends and contributors

Why do Dems constantly say McCain supports the draft? He does not. Charles Rangel a DEMOCRAT proposed a bill to reinstate the draft back in 2006. Democrats really need to check their facts before blasting McCain. This includes you EDW.

All I can do is laugh on this one.

How many of you saw last night's special on CNN? Well, I sure did and NOTHING Sen. Obama did was illegal with the purchase of his house. On the other hand, McCain was cheating on his first wife before he met Cindy McCain.

McCain in my humble opinion cannot win based on facts, his senate record or anything else. This is why his camp started this negative ad crap. People wake up!

    Well gee... that was predictable.

The lying McCain still peddling the same old lies.

Of course, the ad won't talk about Jack Abramoff raising over a million dollars for this liar, LAST WEEK.

    Right? My friend?

I am just upset that McCain and the Republican are using God and is Word to debase Obama.
I guess McCain would rather gain the world and lose his soul. God is real and so are his words and to play with him is mean and spitefful and showns no respect for people space.
