(CNN) - On the heels of an aggressive effort by the Obama campaign to exploit John McCain's recent inability to recall how many houses he owns, the Arizona senator's campaign is launching a new television ad slamming Obama over his dealings with disgraced Chcago businessman Tony Rezko.
"Barack Obama knows a lot about housing problems," the 30-second ad's announcer states. "'One of his 'biggest fundraisers' helped him buy his million-dollar mansion. Purchasing part of the property he couldn't afford."
"From Obama, Rezko got 'political favors' including '14 million from taxpayers,'" the narrator also says. "Now, he's a convicted felon, facing jail."
The McCain campaign said the ad will air in "key states." Earlier Thursday, Obama's campaign released a housing ad of their own referencing his inability in a Politico interview to name the number of properties he and his wife own.

I totally agree with you. This whole prudish holier than though, bible belt, everything in the closet "heartland" mentality is what's keeping this country back. They call themselves real Americans. I call them the plight that holds America back.
But please... don't break away from the East Coast states either.. Places like NY, NJ, Maryland, FL, VA... those places are all moving forward too

Being 100% objective, its easy to understand why Obama's arguement is more effective than McCain's. Frankly, the Rezko issue is complex and it's been brought up before. On the other hand, McCain not knowing how many homes he owns is more relatable and simple. Americans facing foreclosure will find a republican forgetting how many homes he owns offensive, flat out.

So this ad proves that McCain is the filthy rich guy with so many houses that McCain does not know. This is Obama's only house and by McCain's words, Obama is just a regular guy who is paying his "struggling" to pay his bills.
By the way, this ad is more sleazy than Rezko.

If we are going to bring up old news in ads then Senator Obama can do one that asks if Senator McCain has admitted a mistake since writing in 2002 that attending the two April 1987 meetings with Edwin Gray of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and others senators, known as the Keating 5, was "the worst mistake of my life."
The negativity of McCain's campaign is a total flip-flop from his pledge for a positive campaign and deserves intense media scrutiny.
