McCain camp says Obama's still 'The One'

The McCain camp released “The One: Road to Denver” Web video Friday.
The McCain camp released “The One: Road to Denver” Web video Friday.

(CNN) - The One has returned.

John McCain's campaign released a sequel to its Web video about presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama that used footage of Charlton Heston as Moses parting the Red Sea, images of light streaming from the heavens, and a gospel choir to paint Obama as an arrogant politician who bought into near-messianic hype over his candidacy.

They're all back "by popular demand," according to McCain spokesman Brian Rogers - along with new footage of Obama bodysurfing on his recent Hawaiian vacation - in the latest release.

On a day when coverage of the presumptive Republican nominee has been dominated by his inability to immediately recall how many homes he owns, his campaign is hoping that "The One" can save the news cycle.

Earlier: 'They will call him The One,' says McCain Web ad

In 'The One: Road to Denver,' House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is quoted calling Obama "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time," and a recording of Virginia Governor Tim Kaine - a top Democratic VP prospect - is played in which he expresses relief that Obama's call for a cease-fire in Georgia has been heeded.

"His hand guides the world," says the announcer.

"...In Denver, you will see the light," the announcer says later. "He may be 'The One,' but is he ready to lead? No."

Here we have McCain's idea of a clean, relevant campaign.

    Well.

    Isn't that special?

I think it's a very silly and childish ad coming from so-called adults. He's treating us like George Bush does; like children.

    I'm voting Obama!

Does McCain ever intend to discuss the issues or tell us how he plans to lead as POTUS? Better yet, is he EVER going to explain why we should believe he is such a man of honor who uses straight talk when he cheated on his first wife and even filed for a marriage license while still legally married to his first wife? He used the excuse "that was over 30 years ago" as if that makes it ok. I am so sick and tired of him getting a free ride in the press while Senator Obama is under a microscope constantly!. When will he be held accountable for his mistakes, lies and gaffs? CNN when will you cover both candidates FAIRLY?????

McWaynes adolescent antics got him shot down over Vietnam.

If elected this 72 year old adolescent will make us all POW's (Prisoners Of another 4 years of George "W").

When will McCain start discussing the issues instead of producing this negativity? I think the ad is absurd. I am undecided, but this type of ad has me leaning towards Obama.

The McCain campaign is utterly pathetic. Catering to the idiot population with lies and distortions is beneath his record of military and public service.

Does McShame really think this whole campaign is a joke? The distruction of America under Bush and we should just laugh off any solution?

Hey Straight Talk Express, if this keeps up, you'll have to go hire folks from Comedy Central to be on your staff.

How childish, you think a man of McCain's age could come up with something of substance.

Lets get a clip of McCain jetskiing in Gerogia.....

Grandpa McCain needs to stop his fascination with the messiah. The conservatives still don't trust him and he is starting to freak me out.

Senator McCain makes some of the dumbest commericals and I can't see why people would believe him. Senator McCain is making a huge mistake in his mocking Christianity. He will eventually see making commericals about the "One" will in the end be his downfall.

This is where the negative began. Obama would seem weak if he just sat and took it.

McCain is just fine with reinstating the draft. If you have kids you should be greatly concerned.

I too vote for Obama as "The One".

OMG did I just hear McCain's campaign say being a POW affected his memory? They said he can't recall the number of houses he has because he was a POW? We don't want damaged, wrinkled brains in the white house.

Obama IS the ONE! It's about time America reclaimed her position. (and not the bent over one McCain's proposing ....)

Look, if he's The One, we'd be fools to vote for McCain.

Frankly, I want The One running our Matrix, not Republican Agents who want to use us all as batteries for their diabolical purposes.

    I'm voting for The One!!!

    OBAMA 2008

It should be a disgrace to any politician for their campaign (supporters) to use any reference to Christianity or any other religion to attck another person's camapign for office. If this is the only way McCain and his campaign staff can win votes they better take a hard look at themselves. All persons of any religion should turn their back on this kind of smut. Enough is enough>

Can Obama spell jealous? He sounds like it and I hope he can spell it. If someone has worked very hard and aquired several houses, so what? You can do it also. Good for him. Obama is a jerk.

So even McBush sees Obama as the only one who can change things.

Perhaps the rest of the his cronies will see it too.
