If Gov. Pawlenty can help McCain, and you jokers at CNN consider Minnesota to be a toss up state, then why isn't McCain leading in the polls there? Let me answer that for you: You don't have a clue.

The comments from the Obama fans amaze me. You all need to check your facts, not to mention your spelling and grammar.

Alex in MA--the question in the forum was human rights, not human life. Perhaps the bigger question is when does life begin but that is not what was asked at the forum.

The underlying question was "are you pro-life or pro-choice." Obama couldn't answer. If he is absolutely pro-choice, he could have stated that as Kerry did in his debates. Kerry said he was pro-choice politically even though he, personally, did not believe in abortion.

As for the Supreme Court: Republicans do not necessarily appoint conservative judges. McCain voted against Alito. Actions speak louder than words. Problem is---Obama has no history of action.

Why doesn't the media show the polls that include the third-party candidates? Could it be that McCain and Obama are not so close if third parties are factored in?

When you all talk about the polls, why don't you state the number of people you polled, and who you polled. Because the people you are
polling must live in another country, and don't no what's going on here in the United States of America.

              Please vote for Obama.

how can you say mcsane is more decisive, more experience, heck this loser doesn't even know how many houses he has. And how in the world can you say that old geeser is not wishy washy, are you serious? What planet have you been living on? The only thing this loser has been consistant on is his favorite word "SURGE" and WAR.

Obama is not presidential, but professional , LOL and the old man is?
Obama is more presidential because he has a heart for people not like the war machine that will have us in wars the next 4 years, that is if he can keep up within 4 years.

Obama all the way

*sigh* Once again...it takes an act of Congress to reinstitute the draft, not a Presidential order. Stop with the fear mongering. And I believe the Democrats were the ones who introduced draft reinstatement into Congress, not the Republicans. Since we have a Democrat majority, we really only have to worry if some of the Dems vote for it, right? But that would never happen, right?

Of course, military draftees enjoy full military benefits (including dental and medical), so maybe they figure this counts as a national health care plan. *rimshot* Thanks folks, I'll be here all week.

August 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Obama needs to "reveal" who a possible future president might be NOW.

Why wait???? Yes, the media will vet this VP candidate. We the People should have far more time to vet this VP candidate than a few weeks. If this person were to become president and we don't vet him (won't be a "her"), we might be super sorry.

Meanwhile, there is still only one candidate for me. I am one of the 11 percent who is considered "undecided" and also a new Independent. I was a Democrat all my adult life until Obama decided to allow his followers to trash Hillary Clinton and until Obama tried desperately to keep Hillary from finishing the primary process.

I will be writing in Hillary in November.

Another grumpy old white woman for Obama August 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

The answer to the question posed is above everybody's pay grade.
To say otherwise is to speak for God. Obama was right. No human can speak for God. Is an egg fertilized 5 minutes ago a person with rights? Is the woman carrying that egg less a person than the egg?
Is her life less important? To say these people are pro-life is ridiculous. They are Anti-Choice. It is that simple. If they were pro-life, they would be pro All life. Not just potential life.
Vote for the born.
Vote for Obama

In regards to the housing issue, since it is closed:

First, Kerry went thru the exact same thing with houses and cars. Dems said it was a non-issue then. Is it an issue now, hypocrites?

And, Obama got a house at a $300,000 discount. I don't believe he should be reminding people of anyones house situation.

Come on people. A level playing field!!! We don't need no stinkin hypocrites!!

Obama won Minnesota by a landslide in an open caucus. He has that state, moving on…

Yeah, observer, everyone knows that middle America doesn't mean squat to the Democratic Party. As long as we can get our urban welfare wards and brie-swilling liberals to the polls, we will be just fine.

pro Mccain media are the news anchors making their
outlandish statements.
Voters, we evidently cannot expect fair reporting or
integrity from the media/ap.
But, they don't realize we are intelligent enough to
see through their bias, coverups and lies.
We must show them our strength by electing Obama
in November.

And for those who are commenting about Obama going negative. What exactly do you expect? For him to sit by and let McCain attack with falsities and not hit back in return? GROW UP!

No Tommy, I don't because I'm not dumb enough to have someone tell me that I need to fight for something that they don't physically take their butts to fight for. I'm a leader not a follower - that is why I am rich and own what I own. You can call me an elitist. Thank you.

Furthermore, I don't support Obama either because no government official will do anything to help you. You have to help yourself and adapt. That's why no matter the administration I will make money. Always have and always will.

And? When has Minnesota ever decided anything? Where else does he lead? Also, I like this "McCain cuts Obama's lead in half" business as if he ever led by much before. It is a 1% Obama advantage according to CNN and other polls have McCain ahead. CNN is determined to keep Obama the frontrunner to a level of obsurdity it is sickening.

Hey newspeople what about Mr McCain agreeing that returning to the draft would be ok with him? Could this be a Freudian slip that truly tells us what this man is up to? Time for the news reporters to stop with the kid gloves with McCain. What about some hard news on McCain past - 1st marriage problems - keating scandel - his constant flip flops just to get on news - and his being a POW while I am sorry for what he went thru I would suggest that the 58,000 of our comrades who gave there lives is more meaningful. Come on fellow voters we cannot elect this man he will shoot from the hip and slip from the mouth.

  "Obama and Whoever",,,,,,,

doesthat mean you would be happy with the obama and Bill Ayers the terrorist?

How about the obama and the Rev. Wright?

Possibly the obama and his friend Rezko, he could serve while in prison.

Maby you would consider the obama and o.j.simpson, or Lewis Fharrakhan, oprah winfrey, the mayor of Detroit, the list of whoever is endless and you need to get back on your meds and quit playing with it.

If Obama has to win he has to pick either one of the following 3:

1st choice : Hillary (ignore Bill)
2nd choice: Wesley Clark (will make McCain look small)
3rd choice: Biden

Bayh, Kaine or Sebelius does not do it for him

In regards to the housing issue, since it is closed:

First, Kerry went thru the exact same thing with houses and cars. Dems said it was a non-issue then. Is it an issue now, hypocrites?

And, Obama got a house at a $300,000 discount. I don't believe he should be reminding people of anyones house situation.

Come on people. A level playing field!!! We don't need no stinkin hypocrites!!

All the college kids are getting mileage out of the last few weeks of summer before hitting the books. They aren't answering polls. Wait till school starts, McStiff will go pee pee in his pants when he sees how far ahead the kids take Obama in the fall polls. I'm injoying a refreshing drink by the pool right now, and not a bit worried about polls. Enjoy it while it lasts McStiff, and it won't be long.....

It looks like a lot of states are red, but if you look at how many electoral votes they carry, it's like 3,4,5. Like that.

It's about our futures here people, and don't forget about the supreme court.

Obama is grasping at straws. Now he has to knock John Mccain having more than one home. Big deal. That is John Mccain's perrogative to have what he wants. What is the big deal? This is the USA and if we can afford to have what we want what business is it of anyone else.. Mind your own business Obama. No one made an issue when you took of to Hawaii.

Thanks "The Worldl Can Take More of Bush McCain War Mongering", for enlightening OBSERVING. Many people who do not attend church regularly and have no relationship with God, do not understand the phrase "above my pay grade". They simply see it as an unclear answer and arrogant. Nothing could be further from the truth. The fact of the matter is, those of us who attend church regularly and have a relationship with God, as Senator Obama obviously has, know that there are some things only God can answer with any specifiscity and absolute certainty. Thus, the statement "above my pay grade" is a most appropriate response, since God is above all things and the giver and creator of life and human rights. Only He would know when human rights begin.

Folks want Senator Obama to give a definitive response to a question that has been the great debate as long as women have been giving birth!!! Even the most educated and experienced scientists, theologians, debaters and the public cannot agree or give an absolute answer on this because the answer lies with God, who is ABOVE EVERYONE'S PAY GRADE!!!

Americans must love and repect liars. Look at the present administration. Their history of telling the truth is about one sentence long. Their history of lies will go on through eternity as 911 volumes of lies told by President G.W. Bush and Vice President Cheney, among many others. McCain will add on to these volumes because he has learned how to lie from the experts. It is the only way to win an election in America (not counting rigging the votes). McCain's snappy, and concise performance in the Evangelical Church last Saturday, can be credited to his knowledge of all the questions before his performance. He gained points on his carefully crafted answers, no doubt about that. The fact that his numbers immediately rose in the pols, indicates how much Americans love liars..

What an oxymoron nobody can help McCain he is a 72 year old remnant from the past who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he simply doesn't have it all together.

If Americans think 4,000 plus casualties in Iraq is bad just elect McCain and that total will likely be for a week. Good thing McCain is willing to institute the draft your going to need all the bodies you can find.

I hope you all are ready for you sons to be drafted when Senator McCain institutes the draft. I saw on the news at his town hall meeting yesterday in New Mexico that one elderly lady asked his about how he planned to fight the wars and she said institute the draft and he said that nothing was off the table. I think that is is way of telling you all that he will do it if he feels he needs to.

PUMAs will basically use any excuse to conceal the real issue for them... Hateful, prejudice, and insecure... They probably love Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, and Michael Tyson... a long a "they" are entertaining - its fine... But "they" have no place in leadership.

And, to be clear:

"They" = people of color (especially, those of African descent).
