McCain Web site: The Kyl-Lieberman Amendment Designated Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps A Terrorist Organization - But Senator Obama Opposed It. McCain implies that Obama doesn't think Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a terrorist organization. That's wrong. Before the Kyl-Lieberman amendment was introduced, Obama cosponsored a bill that called for the IRGC to be designated as "a Foreign Terrorist Operation." Obama was one of 72 cosponsors of the Iran Counter-Proliferation Act, which states (in part): Iran Counter-Proliferation Act: The Secretary of State should designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a Foreign Terrorist Organization ... and the Secretary of the Treasury should place the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists under Executive Order 13224. The McCain campaign notes that the Iran Counter-Proliferation Act has yet to come to the floor for a vote. But that doesn't change the fact that Obama's sponsorship put him on record in favor of labeling the IRGC a terrorist organization, contrary to McCain's insinuation.

Let's see... last week, the Obama campaign said it would make the VP announcement THIS week, maybe by Weds., and for supporters to sign up, so that they would learn first, by text message. Then Weds. came and went, and the silly media covered it non-stop, "who will it be? blah blah" Thursday and Friday "it'll be anytime, soon..." And finally, on Friday night, "sources" leak it to the press that it is Biden, and the supporters who signed up will get their text message on Saturday a.m.? Doesn't the media ever get tired of this ridiculous manipulation for air-time over nothing? Will Obama supporters get tired of another broken promise? What will it take for the Kool-aid to wear off, and the people wake up? Tune in, tomorrow, for "As Obama's World Turns" My stomach turns. When will the press force the candidates to get back to serious policy issues instead of silly campaign stunts? I'm a lifelong Democrat, but this year, I'm voting for Nader.

Why Vote Against It? McCain suggested that he was merely voting against wasteful spending. He told the Louisiana reporter that he voted against "one of the bills" because it was riddled with pork. McCain: I also voted against one of the bills that came down that was loaded with pork barrel projects that had nothing to do with New Orleans too. It had billions for projects and programs that had nothing to do with the recovery of the city of New Orleans. The Clinton amendments, however, would have provided $3 million for the investigation but no funds for anything else. "Tired negative attacks" McCain's gaffe put his campaign on the defensive. A spokesman issued a statement accusing Sen. Barack Obama of "launching ... tired negative attacks." McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers: It doesn't bode well for Senator Obama's pledges to run a campaign of hope and change when on the first day of the general election he's launching the same tired negative attacks that the American people are so sick and tired of. That referred to an e-mail that the Obama campaign sent to reporters. It said: "Whether he simply wasn't aware of his voting record again or he was intentionally misleading the people of Louisiana, John McCain certainly isn't offering us 'leadership you can believe in.' " Other than that, the e-mail simply quoted McCain and gave the dates and Senate numbers of the votes.

Just another sign that Obama knows his base and blatantly shows his disregard for the group he reputedly needs. The group he is going after will not be as easily impressed by the "Obama" text message as the group that is so glad their "friend" texted them. At this point in this game of politics there is no one who could impress me and it's like watching a movie where you get to the point you just wish it was over and you can no longer empathize with the character.

Too bad that Obama did not have the sound judgment to make clear from the start when this silly text message of his would be going out – instead he opted for sophomoric games which plenty exploited making a laughing stock out of him by sending out false text messages to the press and some of his supporters – Not the style of leadership we need. I have been reading about his soon to be announced VP selection Biden – this guy is going to get torn to pieces over his ever shifting explanations for his vote to authorize the use of force in Iraq – Weakness all around with Obama! I wonder if any of his true supporters are at all irritated that he did not text them as he promised when his decision for a VP was made – this has been such an incredible JOKE!!!
