(CNN) – Eager VP-watchers waiting for the text message announcement of Barack Obama’s choice of running mate have gotten their answer: It’s Hillary Clinton. And Tim Kaine. And Kathleen Sebelius.
Since declaring the Democratic vice presidential pick would first be announced over e-mail and text message, several hoax announcements of the Illinois senator's choice have circulated, purporting to be from the Obama campaign.
The latest came in e-mail Friday morning that hit the inboxes of many White House reporters, carrying the subject, "My Vice President."
The e-mail, from the address firstname.lastname@example.org, was purportedly from Barack Obama and read, "I said you would be the first to know, and you are - I have selected Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as my running mate!”
No word on when the real e-mail will be sent.
The Democratic Party NEEDS a MAJOR! OVERHAUL!. Forget about 2008 (Barack's gonna fell out short, i.e no 270 EV for him come Nov.) or 2012 (The electoral college's gonna change because of the 2010 Census). So start thinking about 2016. You got 8 yrs. You've! been! warned!.
It is so sad that there are so many evil people on the side lines that would just love to have something, anything to go wrong for Obama. Why is that? The only words I have for those people – Grow up! and Get a Life.
If he didn't want this happening, he should have not led us on for over a week and hinting at an announcement, and just MADE the announcement already!
i have this feeling that its hillery!!!!!!!!!!!!! for some reason
i really think its hillery!!!!!! oh well lets get mcbush.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rep 4 dem 08
this is very good, remind everyone that Obama is nothing but a big fake through and through
relax folks… as soon as Michelle tells Barack who she selected, then he will share it with us. So don't blame him for all the drama!!!
Quick, we should be able to figure out by elimination who Obama will not pick as VP.
Any one of the rich guys or gals that he has been condidering who is richer or owns more homes than Obama could not be his VP choice. Anyone like that would be a rich elitist and out of touch with America.
Go on Obama. Milk it. Milk it. Keep thinking that you're a start.... ugh... This isn't hollywood.
I love this....build the excitment...it is General Wesley Clark, Oh...McCain Choice is Libermann
CHANGE N 08! OBAMA BUBAYEAH
Bill in Florida – please read, and understand this post. Obama is not playing games. Somebody outside of his campaign appears to be doing this. I agree, it's annoying, but don't place blame where it doesn't belong (of course you're probably one of the 15% who believe Obama is of the Muslim faith – and that there is anything wrong with that.)
i love it! doesn't matter who the vp will be because he's going to be the best darn president this country has ever seen. And for all you talking experience...look at where experience has gotten us! High gas prices, foreclosed homes, food prices out of this world...need I go on! Don't know about the rest of you but I'm get my head above the water!
His VP....it is Michelle....
Spencer in California!!
Wow!! The right wing media playing tricks on the mainstream media.
You and your Messiah are Jokes. uh..
How do you keep an idiot in suspense?
Obama will tell us tomorrow.
Spencer in CA...I havent gotten one either.
What a joke.
A joke announcement.
A joke candidate.
Fridays are traditionally the time when people announce BAD news... such as when Edwards admitted his affair. That's so it'll get lost in the weekend when nobody's paying attention, and then be "old news" by Monday. So, I really don't think Obama will be announcing anything before sometime next week. Why should he? He's got the press and the nation intensely interested and thinking about nothing else. That's superb political gamesmanship, right there, and his campaign has been excellent about pacing things so far.
This whole VP process has been a joke. No one really cares who Obama or McCain pick, both are still going to advance remedial out of touch with reality domestic and foreign policies. At this point, you are choosing between the lesser of two evils. I'm voting for None of the Above. Politicans are like used car salesman, one goes away, another one pops up.
I think Obama will pick Caroline Kennedy as he needs someone on the ticket with more foreign policy experience than he has.
For the media, here's a question: when does the VP candidate get Secret Service protection? Wouldn't it be fairly simple to suss out who the candidate is because of Secret Service deployment/setup going on today?
An email from an AOL account representing the Obama campaign, yeah right! Everone knows they use Hotmail.
Vegas, speaking of tools ... YOU ought to know!
This is out of hand. I might be a Obama supporter but even i am slightly sick of the games. " I did not come to Washington to learn to play the game better I came to put an end to the game playing." (Obama) I support him but no more games!
This is rediculous. The real question we need to be asking, is why is the Obama campaign playing these kinds of games? They need to realize that most people in this country take the presidential race seriously. Maybe they should do the same. He is losing all of his credibility with each moment. God Help America...
I don't care who it is. McCain 2008.
It's time for Barry to stop this nonsense and just announce his running mate. He's like the high school snob thinking he's special because he has a secret.
