Clinton has been informed she will not be Obama's VP.

(CNN) – Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama has ruled out Senator Hillary Clinton as his vice presidential running mate, a senior Democratic official told CNN on Friday night.

Clinton — Obama's main rival during the primary season — has been informed by Obama's campaign that she is not his choice to be his vice presidential candidate, the source said.

"I'm sitting out?" Unbelievable!! People have fought and died for YOUR right to vote! Is any one politician worth betraying the thousands that have died and continue to die for democracy??? Really! Would your HILLARY want this as part of her legacy.

Dr. Phil is taking new clients.

Besides SEN. BIDEN DWARFS HILLARY. Don't be confused. Only BILL Clinton plays at Bidens level.

Besides, how good can she be if she lost the primary to a freshman senator???

What she learned and what McCain WILL learn is that we had one of the most EXPERIENCED administrations in resent history, and yet the have failed SUPREMELY in everyway possible.

A VAST AND NUANCED MIND TRUMPS THE EXPERIENCE OF THE MEDIOCRE ANY DAY!!

This democracy. Stop whining and get behind a Candidate that actually knows that Iraq and Afghanistan DON'T share a border.

For those thinking of going to McCain, I encourage you to see "4 months 3 weeks 2 days". this is what it's like where abortions are illegal. GROW UP!!

TN Lady in OK   August 23rd, 2008 4:24 am ET

I am very disappointed in the way Obama went about announcing his choice – does he think it was wise to act like some big superstar and drag it out for hours and hours? All it did for me was make me disgusted enough to NOT vote for him. All I can say is grow up and try again when you have. The position you are applying for is not for an inexperienced person. We need a strong leader in this day and time, not a game player.

mernoush   August 23rd, 2008 4:18 am ET

To all PUMA friends:
you don't want to vote for Obama who is a democrat like Hillary and whoes policy is very close to that of Hillary (more than 90%) , instead you prefer to vote for McSame who supported Bush 95% of the time. are you sure that you 've made a wise decision?
if you really support Hillary so listen to her and vote for Obama, and be sure once he elected as president there will be an effective position for her, but in Mcsame adminestration you can be sure that there would be no place for people like Hillary.

Craig Nazor   August 23rd, 2008 4:16 am ET

If there were enough PUMAs with enough guts to go out and work to change the election results, Hillary would have retired her debt by now. The enthusiasm shown by Obama's supporters is directly translated into financial support for his campaign. Positive thinking will always win out over a negative mindset, because it will change minds.

KNicholas53@verizon.net   August 23rd, 2008 4:16 am ET

This is GREAT news! As one of New Yorks Senators in Washington she has done absolutely nothing! Many of we Democrats throughout New York do not support Hillary for any political office. She's nothing but a Carpet-Bagger and has done absolutely nothing for New Yorkers, except visit The State Fair and stay in Skaneatles!!!
Joe Biden is a great and best choice!!!
Kev.

Carl   August 23rd, 2008 4:14 am ET

Can you imagine trying to work with Clinton? She is pushy, bullish, and only human when polls tell her she should be more human. "I found my voice"- tear…

Mark M   August 23rd, 2008 4:13 am ET

I encourage everyone to write Hillary in. That's much better than not voting.

One way Obama could've softened the blow to us Clinton supporters was to pick her as V.P. and double his strength, She's earned it and is the most qualified.

He shouldn't be favoring just his supporters now anyway. Looks like
the Dem's are going for the threepeat in losing the White House !!!

libconservative   August 23rd, 2008 4:07 am ET

Hey Clinton supporters come on over.
We need your vote.
Clinton's policies were not going to work anyway and neither will Obama's. This was all a show by the democratic party to get attention on Clinton and Obama. Well it didn't work.
After the show we are down to real issues and McCain's vision and plan is what this country needs. Both Hillary and Barack's plans were the same which means they were both crappy plans to start with.

Vote McCain!!

job   August 23rd, 2008 4:03 am ET

i did not vote the primary but now i will register to vote for obama, with all my friends.Surely nobody need clintons supporters vote,we obama supporters are enough to vote him to be the next prsesident of united states.remember very well clinton lost and we won without her suppoters and we will win without them.
OBAMA 08.

liz   August 23rd, 2008 4:03 am ET

Obama really doesn't have my support now. Didn't like him in the begining and now that it looks like he chose someone that is old politics I won't vote for him. Hillary is who i'm writing in.

ML - California   August 23rd, 2008 4:02 am ET

Clinton is better off not being affiliated with Obama. He has been rude and disrespectful to her. Whether she could run the White House or not is not the issue. The issue is she has been treated WRONG! Lots of luck Obama – you should have been nice to her!

I.B.B.   August 23rd, 2008 4:01 am ET

She was the reason I was going to vote Obama 08. But now it is McCain 08′.

Micheal   August 23rd, 2008 4:00 am ET

Thanks God that this guy didn't pick Hillary. Now I am feeling so good to vote for Mccain in November without any thought about Hillary. Thanks obama!

JohnC   August 23rd, 2008 4:00 am ET

When Bill Clinton refused full disclosure – who had contributed to his
library and which businesses he'd become involved with since leaving office – he killed Senator Clinton's chances of gaining a spot on the ticket.

Hillary had to know that a presidential candidate could not accept a running mate whose spouse couldn't be forthcoming.

If she'd really wanted the VP spot she would have forced Bill to volunteer the info.

So, draw the conclusion. Hillary never wanted the VP spot. It's that simple.

Nia Hussein - Phoenix, AZ   August 23rd, 2008 4:00 am ET

So What!! Two fingers to the sky Hill-Billy!! And the real story should be on Joe and Barack

What country do you want to live in for the next four years?   August 23rd, 2008 3:59 am ET

Hillary people….. don't let your anger clout your judgement.

What's at stake:
1. Supreme Court
2. The two Wars
3. The economy
4. Energy policie
5. Health Care
6. Social Security
7. Justice department that doesn't break the law.

Hillary and Obama weren't that far apart on the issues. There contest was more about personality. I'm sorry you still need more time to take in her loss but the election is 74 days away. If you Hillary supporters burn the bridge for Obama this time, you also burn it for Hillary in 2012. I just don't see how you expect people in 2012 to turn around and help you when you're acting like this. Let's pick a good future for the country folks.

samson   August 23rd, 2008 3:57 am ET

Obviously Clinton overplayed her hand, overestimated her importance to Obama and still even more thought she could bully and arm twist Obama into forcibly naming her to the ticket.

Could Obama have used her in a ticket.? Sure, but it would have been in very different circumstances. One where she showed restraint. One where she championed any democrat in favor of McCain. This she often failed to do. She ought to go the Liebermann way.

Obama will do fine. And all you petty, Clintonian sore losers, go vote for McCain. You think 2012 will be the year!. Payback is a ..!!

spruzzi   August 23rd, 2008 3:56 am ET

I cannot express in words my disappointment. I feel pretty convinced that the Democrats have lost the election come November. Good work, guys.

Jordan   August 23rd, 2008 3:55 am ET

Any Hillary fan that isn't going to vote for Obama is an absolute fool. You are greedy, selfish, and Hillary would be ashamed of you. I supported Hillary in the primaries, but I know that Obama is millions of times better than McSame will ever be. Somebody needs to knock some sense into fools who are bitter enough to ruin this election.

Marie   August 23rd, 2008 3:53 am ET

Why is drivel like discussions of combovers and plugs posted but remarks posted regarding women's rights to choose "await moderation" is this is forum for middle school students?

Emilio   August 23rd, 2008 3:51 am ET

I can now resume my contributions stream to the Obama campaign knowing that that right-wing slattern will not be on the ticket. After her wrecking-ball performances in the primaries, I can state for myself that its Anyone But Hillary!

Lucas, Nashville TN   August 23rd, 2008 3:51 am ET

Excellent.

I have liked Biden for a long time. The Hillary whining has, of course, commenced, because you just never can do enough to please them. But this has pleased me, and countless others.

tennisfan   August 23rd, 2008 3:51 am ET

Well it is clear that America is not ready to be lead by a woman, and I think that Obama moved very far from his charming image of a political newcomer by not acknowledging Clinton, at the very least. The silly "she rocks" comment right after she terminated her campaign has been a reflection of what the Obama campaign has been so far – just words. It is too bad that politics is a popularity contest above all. I do not find Hilary as appealing as some leaders, but I TRUST her power, will, and dedication to a cause. Obama is still too spineless and too commercial for me. He is getting ahead of himself and this hinders him. Even if he wins the election, I do not believe that he will abide by any of his promises and I think that he will not be able to withstand the callous international political world. Just like any politician who has been elevated by behind-the-scenes force rather than climb the mountain on his own, Obama is not ready to lead the country. Americans should have given Hilary a better chance and should have put more faith in her ability than in Obama's charm. In this sense, they are not ready to be led by a woman of Hilary's magnitude and character, either. So they will get what they deserve, but America will keep sliding economically, politically, and culturally, until a true and radical change of mindset occurs, and is manifested in a change of the political structure atop. Sorry for the pessimism, but all the intellectuals backing Obama are simply giving into trends and commercialism, and a need to prove to themselves they are forward thinkers by pushing for a representative of a different race. This does not count, sweeties: rather than dealing with your own complexes, you should have seen beyond your own taste and scruples and made a choice for America.

Thomas Kelley   August 23rd, 2008 3:50 am ET

Awesome. Now I 'll have no qualms not voting democrat this time.

one less   August 23rd, 2008 3:50 am ET

Obama could not pick HRC as VP because she represents "old school", and Biden does not. Does Obama think 18 mil people are all idiots? He lost my vote.

Laird in Austin, TX   August 23rd, 2008 3:49 am ET

It truly saddens me that so many Hillary supporters are harboring such animosity toward Obama. Early in the primaries, I was tossed up between Obama and Clinton (after my candidate Bill Richardson left the race) because they were so similar on the issues. Honestly, their differences on the issues were very subtle.

As the primaries unfolded, it started to become clear to me that the difference between them was character and integrity.

The Clintons were very hateful and divisive, and what bothered me most was the way Hillary padded her resume and diminished Obama's. Hillary does have slightly more experience than Obama, but truly saying that everything she has done in the 35 years since she left college has prepared her for the presidency is such a stretch. Obama may have been in the senate for only a short time, but the type of work he has done since he left college seems to be right on track with what the country needs right now. And then the sniper fire lie just made me think "wow, lying comes so naturally to her that she even embellishes something like this which doesn't even matter. How can I trust her to tell the truth about important issues?'

Listen, I enjoyed the Bill Clinton years, and I thought he was a good president. But Hillary is not bill, and the times are changing. Obama is what we need right now. And again, it is his integrity and character which impresses me above all else.

If you got all of your information from Hillary and that is the basis for what you believe about Obama, then it is seriously time for a fact check Why don't you look into him yourself?

I'll leave you with this thought: Mark Twain once said "Anger is an acid which does more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured". This country is at a critical juncture. Please put aside your hurt feelings and think this through. What would Hillary do? Oh, that's right, she's voting for Obama.

jimmy spencer   August 23rd, 2008 3:49 am ET

the selfish and self centered attitude of those who are throwing temper tantrums about Hillary Clinton demonstrate the calibur of people she attracts. The selfish apples dont fall far the selfish tree…

PUMA reaction tells me all I need to know about the quality of Hillary Clinton's character.

Anonymous   August 23rd, 2008 3:49 am ET

What an insult to 18 million voters of Hillary – go figure – how you gonna win with out her? You won't get my vote!

Luis   August 23rd, 2008 3:47 am ET

If Robert Rood wants to talk about McCain's comb-over, maybe I should talk about Biden's pathetically fake looking plugs. The top of his head reminds me of a doll's head.

Hong   August 23rd, 2008 3:47 am ET

I was a supporter of Hillary. She lost and I am willing to support Obama 100%. Why? I can't stand McCain's ideas of going to war whenever someone looks at us differently. In McCain's world, it is simply trying to look tough. America, we need to look at the issues that Hillary and Obama agrees on. Then you'll see that they share the same issues: Healthcare, stop the war in Iraq, energy independence, and growing our economy, etc. I would hate to see 4 more years of Bush policy. So please all, Hillary supporters. Dig deep and do the right thing for your country.

Howsyourtext   August 23rd, 2008 3:46 am ET

Obamalites, remember when he wanted you to sign up for exclusive news on his VP pick? He got your email addy and still could not keep this simple promise. Has your pager gone off yet? Remember, a write in vote for Hillary is a vote for Omama. McCain 08 instead of Shuck & Jive 08.

CNN you are catering to the Clintons by not uploading my earlier comment, don't think we haven't noticed. I am disappointed in your internet organization. The media favoritism is old and staugy.

Clinton lost this race on her own, period. (The GOP was holding their breath thinking maybe, just maybe he'll go with the former first lady, no such luck.)

Why arent you talking about how Bill has never endorsed Obama?
He never promised her anything….Go Biden! Obama ow has the white house.

I have been republican most of my life, and am a Evangelical Christian. I have grown more and more frustrated by the lack of concern for poverty and social justice issues with Republicans.

If Hillary was on the ticket, I dont think I could have voted for Obama. Clinton has always been , and always will be selfish, and unconcerned with anyone except her and Bill's fortune and legacy… makes my skin crawl.

I will now vote for Obama. He wlll win more of the middle Christian vote than people expect. Especially since he doesnt have "old politcs" hanging like an albatross around his neck

Obama for President… smart move!

Oklahoma BadBoy   August 23rd, 2008 3:43 am ET

Clinton supporters are so faithful, they are blinded by the bigger picture. You are viewing this like it's your favorite pick on a sports team or captain of the ship. Barak has the U.S. plans in line and ready to roll out, so we say he is weak in foreign policies, why got grab a V.P. that directly deals with that? Let Biden handle foreign, Obama handle the U.S. I agree, with H. Clinton at the Supreme Court position, she really can act as her own and make things happen…..Why would Obama pick H. Clinton, the race between the two became personal and degrading, now they should put on a "fake smile" so you will be happy? You acting like her, sore-losers. A true to the heart Democrat will acknowledge the winner and get on board for the big fight against republicans. Oh, or you'd rather vote McCain and allow him to win just to inflict consequences of personal sorrow, yes send the U.S. back to another republican while we ALL suffer, yea that will teach us!?!?

jim   August 23rd, 2008 3:42 am ET

listen to these hillary supporters….well listen up hillary people if you guys lose this election for obama all 18 million of us obama supporters will not vote for her in the future….and how immature of you guys…you didn't get your way so your going to vote against all your beliefs to bring another republican in? how logical is that?

ryan   August 23rd, 2008 3:42 am ET

I was on the fence – if he would have picked Hillary I would have probably voted Obama. But now, that door is definitely closed. I mean, I have no respect for Obama as a candidate, but with Hillary, I would have probably supported the ticket. But between Obama and McCain, McCain is the better President.

Democrats – always ready to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hillary Forever   August 23rd, 2008 3:39 am ET

I hate the democratic party because they didn't make Hillary their candidate. I love Hillary so much that now I want to see the democrats suffer. I hope John McCain becomes president and destroys life as the democrats know it. That'll show you democrat dummies what a mistake you made.

Becklan   August 23rd, 2008 3:36 am ET

For all of the comments from people saying "that's it, i'm not voting in this election, or I will vote for mcsame," because HRC has not been chosen as VP, all I want to say to you is, H i l l a r y LOST the DEM nomination all on her own accord. ENOUGH whining, tell Hillary the game is over and she can't control the complainers any longer. Oh and "NO" the wisest DEM nominee doesn't have to pick the one that lost, and lost BADLY I might add. Grow up and get over it, Hillary screwed herself and ultimately misjudged, misspoke and mismanaged her chance, her entire campaign. So if you choose to keep complaining about why she isn't on the DEM ticket, complain to HILLARY, now that is putting the energy in the right area.

I send you all LOVE and gratitude for being human beings on this planet.

Justin Smith   August 23rd, 2008 3:35 am ET

Johnson nailed it:

"if you can't unite behind a person who has about 95% of the same view as the person you support"

Hillary supporters that are refusing to vote for Obama should be ashamed of themselves. They are highly similar democratic candidates.

Dave   August 23rd, 2008 3:35 am ET

Well that does it. I'm voting McCain. Obama's immaturity continues to show through with how he treated Clinton. And then he picks another arrogant senator (like himself). Here's one Clinton donor going from undecided to McCain.

Javier   August 23rd, 2008 3:35 am ET

Give Obama an oppportunity to show how good to the US and the rest of the world could be his mandate. I think He can be the first of many humanitarian US presidents to lead the rest of the countries to a unified front

democrats = losers   August 23rd, 2008 3:31 am ET

I feel for you Hillary supporters and good luck.

I will not vote this fall. I'm very disappointed with Obama because He doesn't understand how strong the world will be for African-America and Women for President and Vice President. I have always hope for both. I can see the vision in both of them. I chose Hillary at first because I knew if Obama loses, She would take him as VP. I knew Hillary would do that. She could look like a tough person but in other side she does have the heart. O well, I wish the election the luck. Won't be voting.

Cheers

The goal is to return the democratic party to the White House! Will you really cut your nose off to spite your face for 4 more years of Bush?

This sounds like something right out of high school.

Since your girl friend was not chosen Homecoming Queen you're not going to the home coming dance by voting for McCain?
How petty…

Ed—if only everyone was as wise as you.

Go to the Fox News sites and cry in your beers, fake Hillary supporters.
Go get excited about McCain/Romney–two multimillionaire elitists who have no clue what the average American goes through. This election is a complete no brainer—unless you're a multimillionaire elitist who can't remember how many houses he owns or one whose kids are too good to fight for a war he wholeheartedly endorses.

Relative to Carol comment:

So are HRC supporters the only ones that deserve respect? So if a person vote for Richardson, Edwards or Dodd and they weren't picked as VP – all there supporters should now go to McCain now right?

I know that she got almost 18,000,000 votes, yet BO shouldn't had been blackmailed into picking her. If he picked her , some folks would had say that he was "weak" and picked her because he had to. Since he didn't pick her, folks say that HRC supporters have been disrespected???

MY GOODNESS HALF OF THE CONVENTION IS ALL ABOUT THE CLINTONS.

javone77   August 23rd, 2008 3:28 am ET

I teach elementary school and this is the kind of behaviour I expect from people under the age of 10! but from grown people who should KNOW better?!?!? Come on! I am not a HRC fan but if she were the nominee then I would vote for her because a democrat holds my concerns as important. Do what's best for your kids and your country and stop being mad because the person you liked didn't win. Emotional voting is just crazy. Remember the Bible said pride cometh before the fall. Voting based on your pride will cause you nothing but heartache.

All you of Hillary supporters who are anti-Obama weren't really true Democrats to begin with. It's over! GET OVER IT! HILLARY LOST!

I can't believe that many of you would allow a personal vendetta against Obama to allow you to either not vote, or vote for McBush.

You either get on board with the Democratic Party and it's nominee or continue pouting over the fact that it wasn't "in the cards" for Hillary to be in this position now.

YES WE CAN!

Obama/Biden 2008!

I support Obama.. and support Hillary .. I support Obama as our president elect and I support Hillary in a much more substantial role in our goverment. I think she wold be perfect in charge of heath care. And i believe she wold rather have that position then VP anyday…. Hillary isnt one to play 2nd fiddle.

Chris   August 23rd, 2008 3:24 am ET

Hillary supporters: Please don't do anything foolish and vote for McCain! Senator Clinton can do much more in a Cabinet position than she could have as a vice-president. Her health-care plan is a very important issue, and you know she will be at the center of things. Please please PLEASE look past the names on the ticket and think about the big picture. Don't give this country four more years of hard times by voting for McCain!

Marie   August 23rd, 2008 3:23 am ET

Becky apparently you are too old to worry about maintaining your right to choose to reproduce or don't have any women that you care about or have to worry about it either… by the way, did you notice that Hillary only made it as far as she did by being hitched onto her husband? How strong of a woman is that? How about if she had set an example for her daughter and made it on her own after he totally humilated them both?

QG   August 23rd, 2008 3:23 am ET

PUMAS, show your loyalty to Hillary by paying her debt off.

Johnson   August 23rd, 2008 3:21 am ET

I'm glad the fair-weathered hillary/democrat supports are finally leaving. we are tired of all this moaning and complaining. if you can't unite behind a person who has about 95% of the same view as the person you support then you can go vote for someone who will lead us down the wrong path and make things even worse for America. When we go into Iran and reinstate the draft remember the moment that you voted for John McCain.

Just think about it!!   August 23rd, 2008 3:20 am ET

If it were Hillary only, just pure Hillary, she would have been the (almost ) perfect VP (she has no diplomacy/defense experience either.)

But, if you were Obama. how dumb would you be to select a two-headed VP from pure OLD School politics…deliberately choose to be out-numbered in the White House?

Bill has been perfectly clear that he's willing to abandon the party 'cuz he didn't get his way. Grow up! Not vote? Vote for McCain?
What good does that do Hillary? Or you?
SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT! Cutting off your nose to spite America for not giving you the brand-name gift.
McCain can't possibly do a second term anyway. If Obama messes up so badly, you'll have it together to elect Hillary then. Four years…is that sooo looong?

BlueDog Dem   August 23rd, 2008 3:19 am ET

I have been active and voting since 1976. Obama is the first candidate I have supported in the primaries that actually won the Democratic Party nomination for president…

That means I have held my nose in the general election and voted for Carter (80) Mondale (84) Dukakis (88) Clinton (92)..A;though I was a Bill convert by '96….too bad he has put himself and his wife above the country in the past 18 months…Gore (2000) and Kerry (2004)…

My Point is PUMAS…you are not the only Democrats in history that have ever been disappointed..but we've stuck together as a party…it is your turn to do the right thing and support the party's nominee…or else get the hell out of the way…

Anonymous   August 23rd, 2008 3:18 am ET

Obamma Just threw the election away. Good going!!!

Becky   August 23rd, 2008 3:16 am ET

If Barack is afraid of a strong woman how can he hope to rule the free world? Al Gore was afraid of what he considered the "Clinton Baggage" and he failed in his bid for the presidency, even though he was the best choice. I fear that Barack has also lost his chance. As a democrat, I will probably vote for him, but as a woman, I will certainly not campaign for him…………I'll leave that up to Joe Biden supporters.

Shaking My Head at Hilary's Sore Supporters   August 23rd, 2008 3:16 am ET

Do you people relize that if you do not vote for Obama/Biden in the election and if for some reason he does lose and Hilary runs in '12 that she will not win because Obama/Biden supporters will remember and not vote for her? Something to think about but I doubt that it will get though your thick heads.

Sarah, Northern Colorado   August 23rd, 2008 3:16 am ET

Wow, so many whiners! "I didn't get what I want so I'm going to vote against all I've ever believed in, WHAAAAAAA!"

Hillary supporters, we can get that you're disappointed that she didn't get the nomination or the VP nod. However, it is what it is, and threats don't work. You want to make her happy? Go donate a few bucks to her campaign. She quite obviously needs it.

AJ   August 23rd, 2008 3:16 am ET

Well I'll also vote McCain….theres a possibility that if McCain gets in and messes up, then we will be done with Republicans for a while…..I already know Obama will mess it up for democrats, so i'd rather have 4 more years of a republican president than 4 years of a failing democrat and then a lifetime of republicans to follow. We all know if Obama ruins the country any further, it will make it impossible for another democrat to ever win another election.

Bush is not a bad guy   August 23rd, 2008 3:15 am ET

OH YEAH…….and it is very possible, that since Hilary is now out of the picture, Republicans like myself who don't really care for McCain, will lean more toward Obama in November. Even though I may not agree with Joe on all issues I do admire how Biden has nothing to hide and speaks his mind. It is refreshing to hear exactly how a politician feels and not how he thinks he should act to win votes.

Jim   August 23rd, 2008 3:14 am ET

As a conservative, this is both music to my ear and a disaster.

Music, because it really is a slap at the Hillary folks. All of whom should be rightly upset that their candidate wasn't even vetted. It shows Obama's arrogance, even to his own party-mates. He simply doesn't care what anyone thinks. It's his way or the highway. I am truly sorry that this opportunity to have a viable female candidate was missed so this empty suit can talk down to people and their God and guns.

But thinking of my country, I regret this decision. If Obama is elected, the last person on Earth I want to be the guy in his ear is Biden. I'd rather Obama throw darts at a dartboard than take any Biden advice when it comes to foriegn affairs.

This is a bad decision by Obama all around.

One only hopes it's a decision that will help stop him from making more costly ones in the future.

sullivan   August 23rd, 2008 3:14 am ET

You all need to be ashamed of yourselves opening your big mouth saying he lost cause of you idiots last time i checked America has a population of over 300million you idiots don't count so go get a nap or a bottle like babies do and stop whining.

Hopelessly Changing   August 23rd, 2008 3:12 am ET

Don't discount the PUMAs, they may be growing after tonight. AND they're VOTERS regardless of how crazy you thing they are. A leader should speak for all and not disregard those who aren't inspired by him/her. Any yes, Hillary spoke about governing from the MIDDLE. Which has made Obama a hypocrite these days. Boo on him. It would be better if you attempted to convince us to join the the Oprah/Obama camp (Ew) rather than insult us. it's now imperative!!

rexx   August 23rd, 2008 3:11 am ET

It did not matter who Obama picked McCain is going to win this thing. Obama went from flavor of the month to a guy who has no experience frankly doing anything in politics. One thing about Biden is he has a temper that is even worse then McCain's temper. Should be fun when we see the VP debate and Biden loses his cool lol

McCain=Bush & the return of the draft   August 23rd, 2008 3:09 am ET

Hillary talked a lot about health care for all Americans, I think it would be a good idea to put her in charge of health care for all. Kind of like a "Health Care Czar"

lou   August 23rd, 2008 3:08 am ET

Are you kidding me? You would rather have another four years of McBush and the corporate cronies than vote for B.O. It is a shame that you are so single minded that you would rather vote against your interests than vote for Obama. His and Hillary's Policies are so close that is why the primaries were so close. The shame of it is that I would have voted for Clinton if Obama had lost, because anything is better than what we have. It is a sad day when you will sell your grandchildren down the river because of sour grapes. I hope you take a look at the supreme court, social programs, health care, social security, and the constitution, just to name a few subjects that may come up in the next administration.

Grow Up People   August 23rd, 2008 3:07 am ET

The fact that some of you are now going to vote McCain, just shows you are too childish, self centered and immature to vote at all. Don't you even care where McCain stands in opposition to the Dems as it relates to health care, the war, foreign policy, immigration, the budget, national security, education??? If you people cared anything about the issues, you'd know McCain is bad for the country and has quite different views from Obama or Hillary. But because you are like childish 3 year olds you will vote him anyway. If you do that and McCain wins – I hope you and your kids are the first to go to the front lines in the middle east, you and your loved ones suffer because the economy, you can't afford gas and you lose your jobs over seas – it is what you want to vote for. Grow up.

lou   August 23rd, 2008 3:06 am ET

I understand Hillary's supporters are disappointed. But is this how you show respect for all she has worked for, by trying to make sure someone who goes against everything she stands for is elected? You understand the impact of a McCain presidency? You understand he wants Roe overturned and considers his SCOTUS ideals to be Scalia and his pupet Thomas? You understand he wants to allow corporations to run rough-shod over all the less-than-wealthy? You understand McCain wants to allow the likes of Exxon-Mobile to reap obscene profits while Americans continue to lose their jobs and homes? That he sees no problem with those who are responsible for the mortgage crisis getting huge bonuses while many Americans have to choose between heat and food for their families? Please, don't play silly, petty revenge politics with the lives of Americans hanging in the balance. For many it WILL mean life and death. Do you want to be responsible for more of Americas youth sent to Iraq and then Iran to die for his machismo fix? That is what you are insuring with this sort of rhetoric. This is way too serious for grudges, this is where we have to act like responsible adults.
Wake up! Hillary would have been great but to campaign against Obama Biden is just dumb.

J.L.   August 23rd, 2008 3:05 am ET

It's funny how Hillary supporters would rather want another Republican regime in place for the next 4 years rather than voting for the ideals that Hillary Clinton stood for. Funny… if it weren't so sad…

I'm sure it's just a small vocal minority of Hillary supporters that's making all the hoopla… but sad nonetheless…

And not to point something obvious out, but you realize John McCain isn't the youngest guy and if age catches up with him while he's in the White House, hope that he doesn't pander to the right-wing conservative nutjobs with his VP pick… else you may end up ruing the day that Obama didn't win in 2008. (Lets see how many Supreme Court Justices the next president gets to choose…)

Megan   August 23rd, 2008 3:05 am ET

Obama has the right to pick his running mate, but he would have had a lot more of my respect if he considered clinton. I will still vote for Obama because our country can't deal with Mccain for the next four years. Too bad I won't be able to cast my vote with the zeal I would have liked to. How did we end up in this situation? The race is too close, and it shoud have been a no brainer….

Shawn   August 23rd, 2008 3:04 am ET

I don't quite understand why people won't vote because HRC wasn't picked as the VP? With all respect I don't get it.

1) Some HRC supporters said that because she wasn't at the top of the ticket they won't vote?

2) Some HRC said because she wasn't the VP, they won't vote because she was disrespected?

3) Should Richardson, Edwards, Dodd, etc. supporters not vote because their canidate wasn't chosen? So HRC is considered disrespect and the other who ran on the Democratic ticket weren't?

ML   August 23rd, 2008 3:02 am ET

NewAgeRepub   August 23rd, 2008 3:01 am ET

Thank you for picking a guy who voted for the iraq war. Thank you for picking a guy. Thank you for picking a for sure liberal! thank you thank you thank you. The republican reign will never end!

Serge Tampa, FL   August 23rd, 2008 3:01 am ET

Nah nah nah, nah nah nah, hey hey hey, Goodbye. see ya in 2012 Hill-dawg when President Obama will have pulled our troops out of Iraq, find and kill Osama in Afghanistan, solve the mortgage crisis at home so we all can have a roof over our heads, and save planet Earth by being the first GREEN President who turned this great nation from being 80% dependent on oil to an alternative fuel nation like Venezuela figured out 30 years ago.

Sorry McLame we will NOT drill here and drill now. We will use solar, wind, and bio-diesel fuels instead to run our daily lives so my kids and their kids have a freakin' planet to live on 50 years from now. I know you don't care McCain cause by the way you look, you can drop dead at any minute in one of your 7 homes, and if the Earth dies of pollution no biggie. Plus all of your kids have trust funds waiting for them. Well my little girl does not have a trust fund, and her dad is busting his hump to save up for college for her in a job that might or might not be shipped overseas if you become President. I cannot let that happen buddy. Maybe next time. Besides your only in it for 4 years anyway and we need someone who wants to lead our great nation back on top of the world.

CK   August 23rd, 2008 3:00 am ET

An early commenter hit it square on the head….those of you who are still pinning for HRC, please remember this election is not just about winning the White House, or being a "first" in our history books.. It's also about the seats on the Supreme Court that will undoubtedly be emptying in the next 4-8 years. If you HRC persons want to help reverse Roe vs. Wade and watch more of your civil rights disappear, please jump on the McCain bandwagon and witness what your vote will accomplish. Please also remember your children and your grandchildren will find their lives much less economically stable as they try to find a way to pay their own bills and the leftover debt from the Republicans. This election is about our future as a country in a global economy we never imagined in our wildest dreams until the reality of neo-cons began carving out a methodical approach to worldly control. Please re-think before you not vote, or vote for more of the same.

Amazing! Democrats turning on each other and the convention hasn't even taken place.
I wish there was a candidate worthy of my vote this election.I have voted Republican in the past, when I like the candidate. At times I see Democrats that are worth my vote.I'm not wrapped up in partisan politics like just about everyone here. It really sucks that our country is at war right now, however the militants aren't going to just stop and go away.We can't just move troops and just wish this thing away.Iraq is just a partial mistake. It had to happen , however it's been handled badly. Here are all those post cold war peace dividends we invested in for around 5 decades.I blame both party's for this nonsense.
As for Hillery & Bill isn't anyone aware of all the people who died around them? Like a man who said to be a suicide with a gunshot wound to the back of hie head? And Whitewater?
Have any of you bothered to take an objective look at Obamas varnished past? Unions, mob connections payola and cheap property? He's dirty not as dirty as the Clintons, but still dirty. And McCain? jeez is he wishy washy. He doesn't seem to know what the hell he's for or against. I used to really like him now I think he's not playing with a full deck.
And to spend all those millions of dollars on a $200,000 a year job?
It's only about power at that level anymore. More pork, payola favors and the average American gets screwed again with recycled promises
yet again.
How about fixing the freaking tax code? No one person even understands it. More immigration laws? Why? we have enough on the books, we just haven't made a serious effort to enforce what we have.
All because of power and money. Look around you if you have those 2 things you can even buy justice.
Our Military is 2 small to handle todays problems.
Our National guard troops shouldn't be used for fires and other disasters for which they aren't trained. It's time for a national disaster force with aircraft heavy equipment, fire trucks, medics, firemen, Dr's that can respond to anyplace in the US. Use old Military bases to house them.

Oh and while we are at it can't we find at least one man or woman who is honest hard working to lead this great country? Someone who doesn't care about power and money?

God Bless America!

I pray everyday my fellow Americans will be able to look past media hype, bias and innuendo and save this great land for the generations that will(hopefully follow)

Ok my Rant is over now

No Hillary — No Vote

Gina in Chicago   August 23rd, 2008 2:53 am ET

I refuse to believe that the Clintons and Obama didn't sit down and talk out a strategy to give her an important position in his administration. It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't do something for her and her supporters. I can't see him denying her VP and sending her back to the Senate empty-handed. I'm positive they've worked something out.

It would not surprise me one bit if Hillary gets appointed to the Supreme Court. She's certainly smart enough, it would give her a perfect opportunity to protect women's rights in a very real and concrete way, and it would ensure that there is a strong woman still serving on the bench when Ruth Bader-Ginsberg finally retires.

While the thought of a President Hillary Clinton totally terrified me and the thought of her as VP made me worry for Obama's safety, I don't think she could object to a position that would make it possible for her to wage a real and meaningful war for women's rights in perpetuity. The woman is a hellcat. There would be no overturning of Roe v. Wade in our lifetimes.

A position on the Supreme Court would allow her to make her own path, rather than follow in the footsteps of her husband. She'd keep the boys in line too. Scalia would probably go toe to toe with her, but I'll bet you she'd keep everyone else in check, even Roberts.

Justice Hillary Rodham Clinton…I like it.

And why shouldn't he take care of his supporters? We SUPPORTED him. Or do you not think that Hillary would have done the same thing? Saying you'll vote for McCain is a bigger insult to Hillary and her party than anything Obama could every do…you're essentially saying that because your favorite didn't win, you'll betray everything she stood for by voting for the man that stands for everything she stood against. Well thought out, indeed.

Richard   August 23rd, 2008 2:51 am ET

Robert   August 23rd, 2008 2:50 am ET

I am tired of all the BS I am reading here and throughout the last two months… Why isn't anyone stating the obvious: you are not voting for Obama because he is black. Die hard Clinton supporters…aka diehard democrats plotting to sabotage the democratic party's chances of taking the white house. This is utter stupidity. Four more years of republican policies, if you can call them that, is insane. I for one will be a proud supporter of Obama 08… I hope the rest of you don't ruin it for all of us by abstaining or voting McCain.

Ken   August 23rd, 2008 2:50 am ET

How is that that people are willing to vote or not vote based on "allegiance" instead of looking at the policies and doing what's best for the country? Those of you Hillary Supporters that are being stubborn about this, you know what, I hope you vote for McCain and I also hope YOU suffer the consequences of your actions for 4 more years. Just don't ever complain about the state of our country and how we are lagging on so many fronts.

The stakes couldn't be any higher. I have no respect for you "throw away" stubborn voters. Vote because you think the candidate will do this country good! Don't throw away an election.

PS. I'm sure Hillary was considered but in the end of the day, Barack was never the one to take a course of action simply for the votes. It has to fit his ideology. That's fine. Go Dems!!

What is it about this women that she can't figure out when she is out of the race? She was out of the Primary by Feb. 2, 2008….Super Tuesday, but carried it out until June. Did she really think she was on the ticket for VP? She and Bill have made Obama's life miserable with their unending needs to be adored and noticed. Believe me, if Obama picked Hillary he would have lost because there are so many supporters of Obama who would never tolerate the Clintons on the ticket and she should have known this the minute he won the Primary.

People here are commenting that Hillary thinks she's entitled to it? What about Obama? He is such a pretender that it makes me sick. I may disagree with Hillary on lots of things, but she's actually done stuff. Somehow, all these Obama messianic nuts think that some community organizer is suddenly qualified to be president.

I don't think so.

He should at least have offered it to her.Obama is afraid of real challenges. He won't face McCain in a town hall, and he wouldn't face Hillary. He's afraid of the challengers, and he thinks he can stare down Ahmadinejad?

What if he loses his bullet points during that meeting?

shannonL   August 23rd, 2008 2:47 am ET

The lack of respect the Obama supporters have for the Clintons is disgusting. Our country had great prosperity and achievements during Bill Clintons term. I'll be voting for HIllary as a write-in this November. I won't be supporting a Democratic party that has become so contemptuous and ignorant.

JAZ   August 23rd, 2008 2:45 am ET

Obambi ripped Hillary to shreds for her vote to "Authorize Force in Iraq". He ridiculed her claim that she "trusted" Pres. Bush. He claimed that her decision disqualified her from being President. Yet now he picks the second biggest proponent of the Iraq War.

Can anyone say what Obambi stands for other that than his great big ego?

RF   August 23rd, 2008 2:45 am ET

jimmie brenner   August 23rd, 2008 2:45 am ET

Many of the above comments reflect the non-commital support of the Democratic party which the supporters of HRC declared during the primaries. Deciding not to vote or to vote Republican is truly pathetic. Look at your decision and I hope you understand that you've cut off your nose to spite your face. Did BO make the right choice with his pick for VP???????????? Only time will tell. Would he have made the wrong choice if he had picked HRC? No doubt about it, the answer is emphatically YES. It would have been "her way or the highway." Vote! Vote! Vote! Hillery, you are many things………a role model you are not.. Jimmie

Jake   August 23rd, 2008 2:45 am ET

Any of you who vote for McCain out of spite, anger, or otherwise frustration that Hillary didn't win the nomination/wasn't selected as Obama's running mates are complete and utter idiots. Not only are you not real democrats, but you have no care for the near future of this country, our soldiers in Iraq, or how we are viewed internationally. Don't bash Bush and then be idiotic and vote for McSame. This is sheer stupidity – the last thing this country needs right now is people who are sore losers.

Ed   August 23rd, 2008 2:44 am ET

Look, if Hilary was the right candiate, she would have won.

She isn't the best candidate and she didn't win.

John McSame McCain is just going to finish up what the Bush administration started. You people are acting like emotional foolish children. American kids are dying and being shredded over in Iraq and John McBush wants to keep them over there for 100 years, he said it himself. Obama-Biden is the way for true Democrats to vote. Look, a lot of you people here writing messages are suffering financially or is next in line to lose your job! One thing for certain Hillary Clinton is going to be all right she's rich and will only get richer the rest of her life. What about you? Therefore, please rise above your emotion into your right thinking. Democrats we can't let McBush get into the office. Our country can't take another four years of this Madness, and it is our duty as citizens to rescue our beautiful country for she has been good to us! Vote Obama-Biden 08!! It's our duty!!!

johnnyboy51   August 23rd, 2008 2:44 am ET

Don't count Hillary out just yet. She speaks then Bill Speaks. She still has the majority of Democrats like me who would not vote for that anti-American lying Obama under any circumstances. We have not forgotten how Hillary was screwed by the leaders of the Democratic party over Michigan and Florida. Let's pray for a Clinton take over at convention! Obama would be a disaster for America. The only way you could make the ticket worse would be to put Joe Biden on it which appears to be just what O. Hussein Barack Jr. did.

shannonL   August 23rd, 2008 2:43 am ET

He didn't even vet her…never asked for her opinion. How disrespectful could he possibly be?

The dems have been very disrespectful to Clinton. I never thought I would see them treat a woman so poorly.

Steve   August 23rd, 2008 2:43 am ET

Dear Karen and angry Hillary supporters:

I please explain your thought process to me. As a hint, I'm a guy who worked for the ERA in my youth, and was an early Hillary supporter before I switched to Barack. Hillary said over and over again, itโ€™s not about me, itโ€™s about the issues. But if what you say is true, and that you would rather see another 3 trillion wasted, thousands more young men die in a needless war, the nation and planet put at risk because of peak oil and global warming, and the constitution treated like toilet paper, rather than vote for that โ€œinadequate black manโ€, then it really wasn't about the issues, but just about getting a woman in the Whitehouse. Because otherwise, how you could believe so strongly in what she said during the campaign, but now ignore her now when sheโ€™s an Obama supporter. I just don't understand. And just so you know, I sent Hillaryโ€™s campaign $100 after she conceded to help pay off her debt even though I couldn't really afford it, because, for me, it really was about the issues and party unity.

as much as i love clinton and think she would have been the better choice for "PRESIDENT", i really hope that the US supporters of clinton still vote for Obama. have any of you in america paid attention to our Prime Minister here. hes a nut and McCain and him are so alike its sickening. we need to get Harper out and you need to keep McCain OUT…vote for your Dems. Hillary we be posted to a much better and rewarding seat than the VP. She's better off and we know that she will get a seat somewhere important. I have to believe that Obama knows she is more worthwhile in another position than that of VP. I have faith in Obama with world politics. Give him a chance to prove himself at least. DO NOT vote for mccain, that would be insane

Jan   August 23rd, 2008 2:43 am ET

Huge mistake not picking Hillary. Dems will now lose the election and we will get a right heavy Supreme court. Obama just lost the election. How arrogant can one be? He was barely ahead in the latest polls. Now he will be behind. Good thing everyone found out about his poor decision making before he ruined the country even more than good old George Bush.

Sandy   August 23rd, 2008 2:42 am ET

I can't believe he drew this our so long to end up with Biden….I think it makes it even worse for us Hillary supporters….I didn't expect him to pick her…but as time went on and this was being hyped so much…I thought this has to be big….and I started to get my hopes up it could be Hillary…not to mention I think she is the best choice and can really do him some good in every state!! So when it ended up being Biden I was and am really bummed… and although I would never vote for McCain….I really don't want to vote for Obama…I already feel let down by him….

Jack   August 23rd, 2008 2:41 am ET

I wanted obama first and Hilary as his vp but now its him and Biden he will most likely lose the election watch the cnn election poll and youll see obama drop fast and McCain take a good lead.

He wont win now he has to get very lucky if he does

To any of you who would be so shallow as to not support Sen. Obama because he didn't kiss the hand of the Clintons enough, WHATEVER…

Regardless of what happens in November (and Obama WILL win), you've shown yourselves to be the kind of citizens who would rather watch this country sink deeper in debt, grow more out of touch with the True American Dream and plunge into more NEEDLESS WARS JUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT!

But hey, it's a free country right? (For Now…)

Obama/Biden '08-'16

LOL@Politics   August 23rd, 2008 2:39 am ET

"I will be writing her name in!"

OH NOES!!!! You will beat the system at it's own game….How will the USA recover from your master plan to over throw its voting system that barely works anyway! I'm sure the vote counters will gladly toss your ballot in the garbage and you will have wasted all that time trying to prove a point that really makes no difference.

Listen kids…I know that you are upset and honestly i'm a little surprised as well(I don't get upset over matters that I can't control). Instead of voting for someone out of spite or just being completely worthless and writing in a name…..Stay at home!

You seem to need some time to grow up and realize that things don't always go the way you want them to. I am not here to bash anyone for who they felt was the right candidate, but to seriously vote for someone else because you are upset or even the dumb write in thing is really giving a nice slap in the face to the people that fought for you to even have that right to cast a fair and educated vote. I know that people will probably say "well, you have to fight for what you believe in." and I fully agree. However, being dumb while doing so really negates the positive there don't you think? Self Righteousness will get you nowhere!

I seriously don't care who you vote for, but do it for the right reasons and not because your feelings are hurt. This isn't a lottery ticket folks, so please don't treat it like one!

Slork   August 23rd, 2008 2:39 am ET

A vote for McCain is a vote for 4 more years of Bush. America, do the right thing and vote for Barack. You may be bitter that he won over HIllary, but do you seriously want another 4 years of the same lies, fear tactics, and tax cuts for the rich? You Clinton supporters are stupid to vote for McCain because Barack didn't pick her. User your common sense and vote for the interest of America and clearly McSame is not the answer.

Corey   August 23rd, 2008 2:39 am ET

I am going to vote McCain this November— I can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth— Obama has lost the election.

james Golembiewski   August 23rd, 2008 2:38 am ET

A third party, write in, whatever it takes, Hillary!

Rise America Rise   August 23rd, 2008 2:38 am ET

Well, the PUMAs are not much to worry about. They rallied around Hillary and got each of her 18 million supporters to send an average of $0.10 per person to help retire her debt. Wow, what a powerful political force they are, lol.

C   August 23rd, 2008 2:37 am ET

Now, for the first time in 20 years, I'm actually undecided. For someone who says he's about "change" and actually had a chance to truly make this election about real change by choosing a strong and intelligent woman (one who almost beat him), he chooses to go with the typical choice we all new he would. WOW – change??? Not so sure about that any longer. To not even have her on her short list as a courtesy is a clear demonstration of his continued arrogance and insecurity that a very qualified woman almost won. I hate to say, but he and only he will lose us this election. A very disappointed democrate…

Bravelion   August 23rd, 2008 2:37 am ET

Clinton would have been the first and the best choice to be President of the United States. Even if she had been chosen as VP the winning chances of the DNP would have been greater. We need to see how it goes now that the best choice is not in the race for President. God bless America!!

AR   August 23rd, 2008 2:36 am ET

Whine about Hillary's failure and vote for McCain, this male choice/life ambivalent independent won't care because its not my sex that will lose the right to have an abortion. And I thought women were the smarter sex.

If Obama loses, I'm moving to Australia, y'all turds can swirl deeper down the Conservative Toilet on your own.

Q   August 23rd, 2008 2:36 am ET

Mike – You sir are a Moron!!! I'm sorry, I've read many of the messages posted tonight and I cannot believe that people would rather fall for the same B.S. we've had to deal with for eight years just because someone they favor didn't win. Hillary had her shot, the American people spoke and Barack won the "right" to choose the VP. She wasn't entitled to the Presidency and she wasn't entitled to the VP slot either. Please grow up. Oh, and one other thing, no one and I mean no one who calls themselves a true Democrat would EVER vote for McCain. It's that simple.

Dave   August 23rd, 2008 2:35 am ET

Fascinating to hear that Hilary's supporters are willing to vote against their own self interests all in the name of revenging some perceived wrong.

We really are a tribal nation of "my team or no one" followers.

How sad.

Steve   August 23rd, 2008 2:35 am ET

Don't believe all these posts claiming to be from Hillary supporters that will either not vote or will cross over to McCain.

It's nonsense. Anyone who was seriously committed to HIllary and would either not vote for Obama or stay home is only being petulant…I was mad about Obama's stance on FISA but I got over it, and you should get over Hillary losing the nomination and not being selected as VP….just in case any of these posts are from actual Clinton supporters.

Hotdog   August 23rd, 2008 2:34 am ET

I'm really thinking there are democratic imposters here.

IF YOU ARE A HILLARY SUPPORTER BUT WILL VOTE FOR MCBUSH……WHAT WAS YOUR REASON FOR SUPPORTING HILLARY?

iS IT BEACASUE SHE'S A WOMAN OR WHITE?

BECAUSE HILLARY AND MCBUSH POLICIES AND VIEWS ARE SO DIFFERENT.

HER POLICIES AND VIEWS ARE MORE CLOSELY RELATED TO OBAMA.

IF YOU DECIDE TO VOTE FOR MCBUSH………..DO THE TRUE DEMOCRATS A FAVOR AND STAY WITH THE REPUBLICANS.

KEEP IN MIND IF OBAMA LOSES BECAUSE OF HILLARY SUPPORTERS AND SHE DECIDES TO RUN IN 2012 THE SHOE WILL BE ON THE OTHER FOOT. WE WILL NOT FORGET.

HILLARY CAN RUN AGAIN IN 2016. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IF HILLARY REALLY COME OUT BOXING FOR OBAMA AND HE WINS AND SHE DECIDE TO RUN IN 2016…..OBAMA SUPPORTERS WILL BACK HER. IF NOT HILLARY POLITICAL CAREER IS OVER.

AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS.

Peter   August 23rd, 2008 2:34 am ET

I'm a minority. I'm loyal to Clinton. Don't accuse me of being racist even though you don't know me. You are as adamant about your choice as I am. Unless of course you would prefer that I be put in prison like political dissident? Don't tell me who I should support and I have every right to say what I want just like you.

Republican Conservative   August 23rd, 2008 2:34 am ET

Christopher   August 23rd, 2008 2:34 am ET

I like Biden but I think Clinton would have been the smarter choice. I like Obama too but frankly think Hillary was the best overall candidate. Tisk!

Cat   August 23rd, 2008 2:33 am ET

I can't believe I'm reading the message board for Democrats–would Repugs be bitterly snapping at one another about their nominee? Back Obama '08 if you're a "true" Dem.

Lazarus   August 23rd, 2008 2:33 am ET

Hmmm.. hard to call this a mistake by Obama when viewing the situation it just wasn't possible for him to pick her politically. The problem was the DNC and it's refusal to honor the delegations of two very important states. Obama doesn't win the nomination if those votes are counted, and you can't fault him for trying to do what he thinks is best for the country, but this is less to do with Hillary and Obama than with a power struggle within the DNC. Too many people saw their chance to gain power in the Democratic party by attaching themselves to Obama, but Hillary was the smart choice for the ticket and while many people have been won over by Obama's charisma, too many Democrats feel like they were swindled. I stand back in awe.. I think this will be a close race, but I am stunned by the Democratic party's ineptitude over the last decade or so. This election should have been a blow out, not the nail biter it has become.

APS in Hawaii   August 23rd, 2008 2:33 am ET

Obama supporters, you just do not get it!!! Obama RAN the dirtiest smear campaign ever, not Hillary. Obama let his surrogates state lies, the race card, gender card, and everything under the sun. Then the news media and Democratic Party Eleitists jumped in and tried to end the race in February. I am a REAL Democrat, I am not a BOT, I am a person and just because I will not vote for Obama does not make me a bad Democrat or person. Obama lost my vote when he turned dirty and this is the change he wants for us? I will vote for McCain as a protest vote and to send a message to the DNC that they cannot trample on people to get their nominee elected. Obama lost the election now and the Democrats have snatched DEFEAT from the jaws of Victory. I cannot believe my party has changed for the worse. It is so sad.

weary   August 23rd, 2008 2:32 am ET

That was such a huge mistake!!!! He just threw away the election and the 18 million votes he needed. He's lagging in the polls now, which is mind boggling, considering this should be a slam dunk for the democrats, coming off of the worst 8 years in American recent history!!! Not a very smart political move to say the least, especially when Biden is on record saying that Obama just hasn't got the experience and the oval office is not a place for on the job training. I hope and pray if this country is a true democracy, that the superdelegates and the delegates will vote for her and knock him off the podium. Keep in mind neither of them (Barack or HIllary) had enough votes to reach the magic number without the superdelegates. I truly think and am now convinced that democracy no longer exists in the free world. Elections no longer has to do with the will of the people more so as it has to do with the most powerful entities contriving and manipulating their man into power. Shame on them and God help us all.

TOO BAD, SO SAD , IT SUCKS TO BE YOU   August 23rd, 2008 2:32 am ET

To all the NOBAMABOTS, its not about bowing gracefully, its not about spite, its about reality. A black man and a white woman compete…who is the "chosen" winner….the man. Where is the woman that is supposed to be on "anybody's" short list, where is the trailblazing support NOBAMA "gave" her? Where? Where? It's in the trash can, next to her 18 million voters. You seriously expect us PUMAS who would of voted for him had he chosen her to follow this LOSER? Come on get real, he said she is on "anybody's" short list, evidently, she was not on his…..HIS ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN HIS WORDS, that is why we resist him. I rather have a proven HERO, a proven PATRIOT, a proven STATESMAN for a presiden than a talking, walking , bag full of hot air. Welcome to the White House President McCain!

Obama, join Kerry and Kennedy in the losers cementary.

ehow   August 23rd, 2008 2:32 am ET

That was a really dumb move by Obama. He just pissed off all of Hillary's voters. No way that I see him winning now. Seriously. Early congrats to McCain.

Allyssa   August 23rd, 2008 2:32 am ET

Longtime democrat – have never voted outside of my party up until now. Please let me know WHY I SHOULD?!?

Barbara   August 23rd, 2008 2:31 am ET

Obama clearly likes Hillary. He defends her and she attacks him I am tired of the drama. No one can show anything Barack did to mistreat Hillary. I hope women will get on board but if they do not We will win the white house no matter what.

Caroline Mackay   August 23rd, 2008 2:31 am ET

Poor decision, Obama. I respect Joe Biden, but he's not going to bring more votes to Obama. Biden is "good" to listen to, but what does he bring to the ticket except overseas experience and knoweldge? I'm not disputing that. But he's a loose, wordy cannon in many people's minds. Hillary Clinton was the logical choice and would have ensured Obama's election as President. Again, this shows a lack of judgment on Obama's part.

Mr. Los Angeles   August 23rd, 2008 2:30 am ET

It's really sad to see these posts…We're in August now! Who cares about Hillary; let it go.

She had her chance, and the people have spoken. So, by all means, write her in or vote for McCain. stop talking about it and be about it!

Dina   August 23rd, 2008 2:30 am ET

A sigh of relief……Thank you Obama……that alone – knowing Hillary is no good for America – gets you my vote.

knottwoshabby   August 23rd, 2008 2:30 am ET

It's not about entitlement but listening to the voters, and essentially answering to them. Sen. Clinton has the most delegate and superdelegate votes after Sen. Obama. She should be the VP nominee. Real change for me is having a politician listen and respect the choices of the citizens. Sen. Biden came in fifth in Iowa, not receiving any delegates and dropping out of the race. Why should I be expected to give Sen. Obama my approval in November, if he doesn't appear to be listening to the voters?

Richard   August 23rd, 2008 2:29 am ET

If Hillary Clinton is not the vice president then I will never vote for Obama. He thinks he can ignore all the people that voted for Hillary then obviously he is not as smart as some people believe but he is certainly full of himself. I had such high hopes for Clinton/Obama ticket and 16 years of Democratic rule but because of his arrogance this dream is shattered! It will be the first time that my wife and I will not be voting for a democrat. When my party chooses to ignore all of Clinton 's supporters and all of her votes then it is time to find a new party.

Just Became A Republican For 2008   August 23rd, 2008 2:29 am ET

Obama didn't even have the decency to vet Hillary to make it appear he was at least considering her. Expext to see a lot of ads of Biden saying in 2007 Obama was too inexperienced to be President along with him saying he would never accept being someone's VP. Two flip floppers on the same ticket, at least with McSame I know what I am getting

Hillary in 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellen Logue   August 23rd, 2008 2:29 am ET

This may not be the best thing to do. Hillary Clinton should be on the ticket with Barack Obama. How can the Democratic Party be unified with this. I feel that some importatn votes will now be lost. Some people will not vot at all. It will take some real good talking on the part of Obama to explain this. How can he ignore the fact tht Hillary Clinton won by popular vote????? This will be as negative factor for the results in November. Obama may lose because of this. As for the job Biden would do. I have my doubts. Who the hell is he?

It is so sad to know how stupid Clinton's supporters are . They even are not able to grasp what election is about if they can mix Hillary and Mc Same. That is offense for her – she is not soooooooooo bad. They should not ever present them selfs as democrats. Party doesn't need freaks who do not know what is at stacke here. It just made me realize I am not part of that kind of crawed. Do not shame democrats !Do what ever you wont but do not talk about your stupidity!!!!

Gail   August 23rd, 2008 2:25 am ET

how many votes did we democrats give to biden during the primary elections????

let me remind you sir, he was at the very BOTTOM of OUR choice.

how far have we fallen, for in 2000 it was the rival party that stuck it to us.

Corey   August 23rd, 2008 2:25 am ET

Okay…so let me get this straight. (This is coming for someone who was a pro-Hillary supporter up until March '08). All of 'YOU PEOPLE' who say you're going to stay at home, vote mcshame, yada yada on election day. If you were running for the highest office in the free world, would you want your VP to be someone who could not manage their finances enough to make it past the primary race? Someone who went above and beyond negative attacks during the campaign? Obama supporters would of pulled behind Clinton had she won the nomination, but she did not, so everyone needs to grow the f^ck up and realize that the next Pres., will be in charge of selecting 4 more Supreme court justices, resolving our energy crisis, getting rid of our national debt and keeping jobs here in the U.S. from going overseas. So Hillary supporters get off of your F^cking high horse and realize that Obama won and if you guys stop making a fuss he may still put her in his cabinet or on the supreme court. So get over yourselves and realize that Nov. 8 is not about Hillary Supporter Pride..it's about the entire U.S. moving forward as one and dealing with our crappy economy. And Obama will be READY TO LEAD ON DAY ONE…and Biden will be th one handing Obama the phone at 3am!!

Former Hillary Supporter, now FULLY behind Obama/Biden '08,

Corey R. (NC)

Obamamanians, you can't tell another how to feel as you obviously think you can. And, Obama did lose Florida, you can bet your money
on that, want to wait until the votes come in? I have tried to like Obama
and see some reason why he should be elected, I truly have. I too have so many reservations about McCain, unfortunately, Obama packs his own baggage of such as well. I'll be writing in HRC, can't go
with Obama. Too bad, he felt too intimidated by her to hear all the people speak, for that he loses the big package. Be prepared to see
him lose ground by the day. Enjoy the bounce, it will be short lived.

DannyJ   August 23rd, 2008 2:23 am ET

Oh wow! Obama knew for a long time he wasn't picking Clinton, yet he strung along Clinton and her supportersโ€ฆ that's not going to go over well. Its going to raise questions about his loyalty and his promise of a "new" kind of politics.

It has nothing to do with Obama picking Clinton. It's about him saying he was seriously considering her, and then proving that was never the case.

So much for party unity. I wouldn't blame her if Clinton did nothing for Obama from now on. But she has so much integrity, I know she will be totally congenial and supportive. At least she's proven her loyalty. 2012 will likely be a good year for her.

Anonymous   August 23rd, 2008 2:23 am ET

The smartest thing the democratic party can do is choose to elect Hillay instead of Obama. He has no chance of winning the election and by choosing him to be the democratic party's candidate, they are giving the election to the republicans.

U.S. Soldier   August 23rd, 2008 2:23 am ET

Hillary supporters,
McCain has already stated on mutiple occasions he will bring us into more wars. He also stated on different occasions he is not against the draft (however his staff insists he is). My question to you is; Are you happy with the economy right now? The Iraq war along with McCain's friend/financial advisor (Grahm) are the main reasons the economy is in the condition it is in! How does McCain expect to wage more wars and fix the economy at the same time? It is impossible! We (active duty soldiers) can't even rotate duty stations near the end of the fiscal year due to being over budget. We don't have enough money for the wars we are already in! We don't have enough soldiers to fight more wars. We are already overstretched and doing mutiple tours. You make it out of one deployment alive and intact to find out you have to go through it all over again! We do not have enough soldiers for another single war. This means a draft would be necessary. We would need additional money for the soldiers, more weapons, more tanks, more helicopters, more aircraft, more ammunitions, more armor, more food, more uniforms etc…… Take a second to think about our economy after all this! Please don't do this to our country or us soldiers. We are the ones you are punishing not only Obama. I know a draft seems like a long shot to civilians, but it is obvious to us in the military. We can only do so much with the people we have especially if we are all wounded or dead!!!!! Please do not give up your vote or vote McCain because you are upset. Think about the consequences to everybody. There is a reason the military is donating 6:1 to Obama. We can see the end result of a McCain presidency. You would think military would vote for a retired military war hero, but we are not!! I think we are more afraid of McCain than Bin Laden

I have been a Democrat all my life ! This ia the first time I feel ashamed of my party the total lack of respect given Hillary and her 17 million voices they would have made an awesome team. I wont vote for McCain hes to much like Bush. Look where he got us and I think Obama is to Arrogant and already thinks he has the election in his pocket. I also will write in Hillary if my vote isnt going to get me any where , I will write Hillary in and at least she will know I took her serious!!! Carol Johnson

Independent jedi   August 23rd, 2008 2:22 am ET

I have been a Hillary supporter all along, even when she was First Lady. I wanted her to win all the way. She did not win the primary, and she is not being picked for the VP spot. Obama and HRC talked privately at one time – I think there are plans for her. I am willing to find out what they are. The most important thing is though is to get the DEMOCRAT into the White House.

Bill Clinton himself said: You can fall in love in the primaries – but after that you must fall in line.

It is time for all of us HRC supporters to fall in line and get the Republicans and conservatives and war mongers and elitist out of office and start voting for our own best interests.

mark   August 23rd, 2008 2:22 am ET

If Clinton's supporters were only going to vote for Obama if Hillary was on the ticket then they don't know much about politics…Obama is still the Presidential nominee no matter who is #2. He stands for generally the same policies as Hillary does. So to vote Republican is to sell your own beliefs for the most low and degrading of reasons…

Craig   August 23rd, 2008 2:22 am ET

Listen folks, Hillary did not run for the position of VP. What makes anyone think she wants it?

Obama chose a running mate who complements his vision for our countries future, and who has tremendous strength in areas where he himself has short comings. Namely, foreign policy and "experience" in terms of longevity in politics. He is sensible, charismatic, and a DEMOCRAT!!

Hillary needs to step up and squash this ridiculous nonsense of her supporters voting for Mc Cain to show solidarity in their support for her. She has stated time and again that this is exactly what she doesn't want. I for one have faith that she will do just that.

Not supporting Obama any longer   August 23rd, 2008 2:22 am ET

That's it! Another 4 votes from my family going to McCain this November.

mdrift   August 23rd, 2008 2:21 am ET

Jason out of LA needs to learn perception. This gives the Clinton delegates the green light to cast their votes proudly for Clinton as President and for the PUMA crowd to vote for McCain and prepare for 2012.

Samantha   August 23rd, 2008 2:21 am ET

It's funny how everyone feel that unless Clinton is on the ticket Obama can't win he won the nomination, and even though Clinton folks keep counting the votes during the primary with the Hillar y Math he still won. Obaman can win the election without Hillary eveyone that I have asked have not wanted her on the ticket anyway. If your so stupid that you would vote for Mccain/Bush then the economy is going to be evern worse in four years. if you care so little about your families future that you would vote for McCain, not vote or write Hillary in then be propared to be living on the street in 4 years because McCain as president will be the same as Having Bush Cheney he has voted with Bush over 98% of the time so what does that tell you.

All I know is

OBAMA 08 SEE YOU IN NOVEMBER

Bob   August 23rd, 2008 2:21 am ET

As a Canadian who just loves seeing the USA slide into the abyss, with a 3rd world public education system, an obese population without universal health care, a pathetic productivity rate, stagflation, and many other forms of total failure, I hope that all of you HILARY SUPPORTERS vote McCain. You will ensure your status as a nation where 3/4 of the people live as though they were in a developing country and the top 1/100 of the population becomes increasingly rich.

Man, you are somewhat pathetic if you are willing to do that. Barrack could bring your country back on par with the rest of the civilized world (maybe Hilary would as well, but she lost….after a huge lead and all of the advantages in the world….remember….she blew it, just like she blew universal health care). Vote Barrack and come join us in the good life.

Nikki   August 23rd, 2008 2:21 am ET

I wanted Hilary to get the Dem nom, the VP would have been nice but its all up to obama & like my mom said america might not be ready for the first black president and 1st women Vice president might be too much too soon. I still want Obama to win because we need a democrat in the white house we need a change, I dont think our ecomny can stand another 4 years with a republican president . I will be voting in nov for B. Obama.

Kati   August 23rd, 2008 2:21 am ET

Grow up and take responsibility for your country, PUMA-types. Don't vote selfishly and vindictively. Vote for your interests and those of your fellow Americans. Remember why you liked Hillary and remember that she's endorsed Obama and had almost the exact same stances. I'd be doing the same had it gone the other way. There's too much at stake.

Carol   August 23rd, 2008 2:20 am ET

It's really annoying all of the non Hillary supporters who seem to think the people who support her are rabid dogs. Yes I wanted Hillary to win the nomination, I felt she was the best candidate. I am willing to throw my support behind Barrack Obama now that he has won the nomination but I don't like to find out that he didn't even consider her as his running mate. He didn't respect the votes of 18,000,000 people, that's not unity. But, like most democrats, I'll bite my lip, stomp and scream and than when push comes to shove I'll vote for Barack anyway. Just doesn't seem like it should leave you with such a bad taste in your mouth.

jesse   August 23rd, 2008 2:20 am ET

o my god just get over it. she ran a nasty campaign and still lose just say what it is u hate to see a black man in the white house. if u vote for mccain just because hrc lost and did not get the vp nod is just dead wrong.

Kip   August 23rd, 2008 2:19 am ET

These guys don't even have a good argument. Their only motivation is Hillary didn't get picked. I thought only ADULTS had the right to vote. This argument sure sounds pretty childish to me.

Mike   August 23rd, 2008 2:17 am ET

That's the final straw, Ive had the McCain bumper sticker for weeks now and haven't had the guts to put it on my car, this did it. You lost a lot of votes today sir.

This must be a part of obama's energy plan. At least they'll save gas by not driving to the polls right? Might save more then air in the tires.

Supporter of the old, PROVEN, democratic party
Vote for McCain

Steve   August 23rd, 2008 2:16 am ET

he just lost my vote.

chris Eisenhauer   August 23rd, 2008 2:16 am ET

Hilary Clinton will never be president.

If people can get this through their heads we will all be better off. Yes, she ran a great campaign and it was a close race. But she lost and bowed out gracefully. Had she been the nominee, I would have voted for her because I know she would have done good things for the US. But let's not whine and cry because someone didn't get picked, whether its for president or vp or whatever. McCain is not the answer and anyone who votes for him out of spite is irresponsible and childish. This is America's future on the line and we must all remember what this is all about.
Obama 08!

Jayson   August 23rd, 2008 2:16 am ET

To anyone angry enough to switch from Obama to McCain due to VP choice:
VP's don't dictate presidential policy. From one voter to another, I would hope you vote in November, and I hope you vote for issues (whatever they may be) which you care about. Would you really be true to yourself/your beliefs if you switched your vote just because Clinton does or does not make it on the ballot as VP? A vote cast in spite is a wasted vote! Vote for the issues you care about, not out of spite.

Louise Kindle   August 23rd, 2008 2:15 am ET

Obama/Biden is a good ticket.

But, Obama/Clinton would be a landslide. Picking Clinton would have unified and excited the party. So many of you except Biden who has spent 3 decades in Washington, but,, was against Clinton saying she would'nt represent change. He is the Status Quo??? He said Obama is not experienced enough in the debates??? Yes, Sen. Clinton said things, so did Obama. Sen. Clinton was the best chance for Obama to win. Obama has disrepected Sen. Clinton by not considering her for the VP spot. If she was a male candidate with 18 mill votes, she would have been offered the VP position or atleast interviewed. The DNC would have promoted it. I am a democrat and will vote for Obama in Nov. But, I don't like how Obama continued to string many of Clintons supporters along. He should have made it clear that she was not in the final four earlier to allow it to sink in before the convention. I'm somewhat afraid he has split the party. I am so very disappointed at how the Democratic Party has treated the Clintons over the last year. I support Obama, but, I'm not happy how Sen. Clinton has been treated.
He has every right to pick Sen. Biden, but, respect to Clinton would have made it easier to take. Hope he won't have to pay for his decision not to seriouly consider her for VP, in Nov.

Fingers Crossed for Obama/Biden

Oh happy day!   August 23rd, 2008 2:15 am ET

So glad it wasn't Clinton. Carrottop would've been more acceptable, or even Richard Simmons. ABC = Anyone But Clinton! To "bright eyes", "ken k", "beth", and "blue", I am doing handstands and backflips counting the number 1000s of Republicans and Independents we will attract for each and every one of you, now that your negative energy and its source are gone.

Never been so happy! Just imagine all the Republican ads featuring Clinton saying nasty things and ending with voice over saying "even his Vice President thinks so" if this hadn't happened.

This day is right up there with the day my kids were born in terms of joy.

Ed   August 23rd, 2008 2:15 am ET

Hillary has been my #1 choice since day one,
Barrack #2.
I was numb when she lost the Primary.
I am saddened at the news of her not being picked
as #2, but will back Barrack.
I AM FIRST AND FOREMOST A DEMOCRAT,
and JUST LIKE HILLARY, I will do whatever I can to
to make sure we have a DEMOCRAT in the White House.

GO "O", GO JOE!!!!

rose   August 23rd, 2008 2:14 am ET

Amazing, what angst we women hold. If we really wanted change and are "true blue" democrats, then we vote for whomever is the dem' candidate.

Steve/Houston,TX   August 23rd, 2008 2:13 am ET

Congratulations! OBAMA on the way to the White House!!!

Let's turn this country around for the better.

Edward (from Detroit)   August 23rd, 2008 2:12 am ET

Here we go we're about to head into the 10's on the right track with President Obama and Vice President Biden. I am glad that he didn't pick Hillary Clinton because she was very nasty in the primaries and towards the end when she found out she wasn't going to win her and Bill comes out talking about she'll accept a number 2 spot, so that shows her selfishness.

OBAMA/ BIDEN '08

tammy   August 23rd, 2008 2:12 am ET

I am have a right to my vote. I choose to not to vote for Obama. Say what you will about me, I will speak in Nov. Obama supporters can whine when he loses in Nov.

Linda in Texas   August 23rd, 2008 2:12 am ET

If it is true, I am happy to vote for this team. Joe will balance the ticket very well and shut McCain out.

I still get e-mails from Hillary and can see a better future for her in helping the people from the Senate. She will always be in our hearts for the strides she made for women. She is a hero.

Obama-Biden in '08 will be good for our country. I will continue contributing and work locally to help wherever I can.

Wendy   August 23rd, 2008 2:12 am ET

I have to vote McCain now since Hillary did not get the spot. He has no shot of winning at this point.

Nija   August 23rd, 2008 2:11 am ET

All you Clinton supporters please remember one thing, Do not vote for Obama. Many of you reside in Tx and Pen. So it doesn't matter.

Jack   August 23rd, 2008 2:11 am ET

he made a huges mistake why did he picked the guy instead of her omg! dats sad lol hillary is better screw him

elaine   August 23rd, 2008 2:11 am ET

Americans! I beg of you to rescue my country. The world needs our leadership. Love America with the same patriotic commitment as Hillary does. She proved to me that she is a stateswoman of undeniably lasting homage by choosing to stand squarely behind the ONLY man we now have to save our nation – Obama. Can you imagine her depth of blessed love for our country!. He won, my choice lost. Follow your leader, PUMAS! She asked us to do that. Do you have ANY sense of our heritage, the men and women who died for your thoughtful votes, the need for all Americans to focus on our COUNTRY first? I beg of you to grow up fast and pledge your commitment to America.

Like Hillary did.

Laura Hessler   August 23rd, 2008 2:11 am ET

the clinton supporters, and I was one for a short time, shouldn't be waiting for Senator Clinton to tell them to back
Senator Obama. are they Democrats? then what's the question? i have lost all respect for her and her whining supporters. get real. this is so much more important than clinton. this is about changing the game, get with it people… what are you thinking?

Tim   August 23rd, 2008 2:11 am ET

Right On! Obama is talented enough at distorting the truth without any help from her.

Silent One   August 23rd, 2008 2:10 am ET

I don't understand the cult around Hillary.

What would have happened if the roles were reversed? If Hillary had won, would it be okay for Obama's supporters to be acting this way towards Hillary? To risk destroying the election for petty vengeance?

The immaturity of it is astounding.

WOW - Cedar Hill, TX   August 23rd, 2008 2:10 am ET

Can't you get it…Hillary didn't want the job… words from her own mouth….

stop your selfish whinning people……

Those of you that will not vote for Obama/Biden or vote at all…That is your lose………..

Arthur Champ   August 23rd, 2008 2:10 am ET

I think it is utterly stupid to make or leak your choice for vice president at one o clock in the morning. If this was an unexpected pick maybe but anybody with half a brain knew that the pick was Biden especially after the way he blew it on the Rick Warren fiacso. With HIllary he would have had at least a six point jump in the polls before the convention without Hillary he gets no bump.

Yupik1   August 23rd, 2008 2:10 am ET

Why make her VP, when she said that she's waiting for him to get whacked?

I have 1 home   August 23rd, 2008 2:09 am ET

I am an Obama supporter and curious to know how PUMA and the rest of the staunch Hellraisers think Senator Clinton will be elected in 2012?

I and many like me will remember this stance you are taking against Senator Obama and will NOT vote for her then or ever.

You are quick to say, Obama needs us. Well, who do you think Hillary will need in 2012? PUMA dose not have enough voters to win an election.

Senator Obama won the primary, what would you have him to do? Give the nomination to Hillary because you like her more… I believe if Senator Clinton had won the election the same way Senator Obama did, we would not be having this exchange.

Me thinks some of the PUMA fanatics are against Senator Obama for some underlying issues they don't care to uncover, because if you were really concerned w/ the direction of the country you would vote for Obama, as his views and wishes for this country are more consistent with your girl than McBush's!

Lastly, you are so stubborn that you are going against Hillary's wishes to support Barack.

At any rate, good luck with that!

Obama 08 B 4 it's 2 late!!!!!!

Peter   August 23rd, 2008 2:09 am ET

And how can you Obama supporters blame Clinton should he lose? It's his election to lose. He made all the decisions. She made the decision to go into debt and many of you have made it clear that it was all her fault. So be it. But to blame him for losing because some of us won't vote for Obama is ridiculous. I may be disappointed that he didn't choose Clinton for the VP spot but I cannot blame him because it was his choice to make. I am hopeful that Obama will win but I cannot go against my own feelings so I shall either write Clinton's name in or not vote at all. I will live with the consequences whatever the outcome. But to blame Clinton as if she can point the gun to our heads and force us to vote for someone we don't want to is insane. I wish Obama well. I really do. But right now, I will not vote for him. Nor will I vote for McCain. A choice between the lesser of two evils is not a choice I want to make. Blame me, blame her supporters but to blame Clinton for OUR choices is something unbecoming of the Obama supporters who purport to take the high road.

An American for America   August 23rd, 2008 2:08 am ET

Hillary supporters dont do this to America. Hillary lost fairly. Even she acknowledges it and she knows what McCain will do to this country. I know if Obama had lost the nomination I would be dissappointed, but there is no way I would vote for McCain or stay home. The price is too big. I would fully support Hillary.

Grandmomma   August 23rd, 2008 2:08 am ET

Obama has served 143 days in the senate and he "cut in line " adhead of Hillary . He should have "paid" his dues before putting his name in the pot . I hope Hillary supporters will vote for McCain . Obama doesn't have enough school of hard knocks under his belt to be a effective leader.

Dan   August 23rd, 2008 2:07 am ET

Good bye Clintons…it's about time you took a bow. Please go gracefully, but that would not be like you & Bill. You got the race card played to to full extent it can be played. Learn to live with it!!!

Bellevue Girl   August 23rd, 2008 2:07 am ET

I think that to not vote at all is the dumbest decision you could make. How could you all as DEMOCRATS not vote and have the chance that we would get in an idiot like McCain? Come on now, use your heads!

Haridaspal   August 23rd, 2008 2:07 am ET

Senator Barack Hussein Obama and Senator Neil Kinnock. I hope the Republicans rip them apart. Two die hard liberals on the ticket! Go McCain – Go PUMA!

Obama4President   August 23rd, 2008 2:03 am ET

GOOD KEN K AND BRIGHT EYES ON NOVEMBER 4TH YOU GUYS STAY IN FRONT OF YOUR COMPUTER AND KEEP COMPLAINING. WE DON'T NEED YOUR VOTES TO WIN OBAMA/BIDEN 08

Cindy   August 23rd, 2008 2:00 am ET

Thank you, Senator Obama!

While I can fully understand the disappointment by her supporters…. Just like when she refused to concede at the end of the primaries, she cannot hold Obama or the party hostage. It's not her place to do so.

As her supporters continue to burn the torch for her. And she continues to encourage their efforts….

If Obama loses in November… I blame her for it. And I will not forget.

caliguy   August 23rd, 2008 2:00 am ET

I'm inclined to believe that all these bratty clinton supporters are more racist than they are democrats. I'd never vote republican simply because my person didn't get nominated. I'm not surprised because the clintons have set this tone. If Biden is the one doesn't this benefit the WHOLE democratic party????

If Billary had 18million people WHY IS SHE STILL IN DEBT. If OBama does not get elected it's because of typical racism in america that's it that's all.

The End!

Ohio   August 23rd, 2008 1:48 am ET

No Hillary=No vote for Obama.
Ohio had it right!!!!!!!!

MCCAIN WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnson   August 23rd, 2008 1:45 am ET

Good, Now more Americans will vote for Obama. Whit Clinton and Obama togather would have been a power disaster to each other in the White house. I am sure that Obama saw it as a issue for him in the next 4 years also. More can get done with these two men in the White house.

Asad   August 23rd, 2008 1:44 am ET

Its sad. Obama has just denied a victory to democrats that they really deserved. Just because he is scared chosing Clinton will make him look like a small guy. Its over for me. Good luck Obama-Biden. Congrats McCain.

Gus   August 23rd, 2008 1:41 am ET

No Hillary, no vote!

Military Man   August 23rd, 2008 1:39 am ET

Obama just lost the election.

patrick   August 23rd, 2008 1:37 am ET

@ Edgar , Obama did NOTHING to Obama. you people are dilussional. if anything blame the DNC, however something HIlary supporters never came to realize, HIlary would NOT have won the primary election regardless of the outcome of Michigan and Florida. Besides that most of you are just predjudice and beat around the bush about everything . Furthermore, did you HIlary supporters ever think that after all the anger you have directed at Obama, that HIlary might not win without Obama supporters???

Marcus   August 23rd, 2008 1:37 am ET

Well, that clears the way for Hillary in 2012, because there is no way Obama will win without Hillary on the ticket. Joe Biden? YAWN!!!!!

The McCain camp must be delirious at the moment. They can stop trying to count houses and start counting electoral votes.

jimmy   August 23rd, 2008 1:36 am ET

Biden and Obama just lost the Indian vote…remember what Biden said about the Indians who run 7/11s

Juan   August 23rd, 2008 1:36 am ET

Dan Andonian   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

First time in 6 elections that I will be jumping ship…this Democrat is voting for McCain as a "I told you so" vote

CTP   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

Hey Hillary supporters…if Obama loses this election, your candidate will be blamed – and she will never be able to run for President again. Mark my words – we're 18 million strong too. If you support Obama now, great. If you don't, get on board or get overthrown.

bob in LA   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

Good. now she can run in 2012 as the party favorite again and this time have enough personal clout to have a fair primary season

Sammy   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

Its a simple question for any Hillary democrat: is a protest vote more important than making sure a neo-con hawk doesnt get elected? Just remember, if McCain gets us into a war with Iran its because the American people vote him in. That includes people who dont vote because they know McCain is open to the idea. Or I will tell you what… Hillary diehards just need to tell themselves that they are voting for Biden. He will have more influence on decision making than anyone else.

Personally I would rather Obama be influenced by someone with alot more experience than Hillary (his 30+ years as a senator vs. her 8 years). Keep in mind for example that the president of Georgia specifically asked for Biden to go there. I dont think he asked for Hillary.

Florida voter   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

Today is the day that will be remembered as : The Day Obama Lost Such an Easy Election To Win.

yeahklye   August 23rd, 2008 1:35 am ET

hillary fans, if you feel that voting for mccain to prove a point to obama would be productive to the country and the democratic party, then by all means do it. if your feelings originate from any other place, then look yourselves in the mirror long and hard before voting to mccain.

Peter Thickwood   August 23rd, 2008 1:32 am ET

Yeah, no kidding! That's not news! Let's win this erection in November Democrats! Woooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Obama – Bendin '08 &12

Erin   August 23rd, 2008 1:31 am ET

I second everything Karen said.!
Do you hear that sound? It's the sound of thousands of Hillary supporters walking away from Obama!
Good luck with that whole Hidin' Biden thing, Barry!

Brian   August 23rd, 2008 1:31 am ET

Couple of comments:
1. Biden I think is great fit, and is an excellent choice.
2. PUMA your pathetic. Really no other way to state it. Sabotage Obama and you actually think Hillay will win in 2012? Think of the anger towards Nader and multiply it by 10. She will be lucky to win her Senate seat again. Idiotic when you are willing to piss away Roe vs. Wade with Supreme Court Justices who are there for life. Yeah life… let your pettiness rule…
3. Rationale Hillary fans. Biden leaves the door open for Hillary in 2016. Biden will be over 73 and Hillary 69. Hillary has a shot here. If it was Bayh or Kaine then her chances would have been almost nil.

Ricardo   August 23rd, 2008 1:31 am ET

Since I want Hillary to win in 2012 I need Obama to lose so he won't be running as an incumbent president that year. Hillary will be a lock for the nomination in 2012 if McCain wins this time. The media support of Obama cost Hill the nomination this year, but not next time.
If Obama wins this time he's guaranteed to be the nominee in 2012 so he's gotta lose this time.

If you're a Hillary supporter like I am the only thing we can do this time is vote McCain and not allow Obama to win. It's tough, but it's politics!

sffrank   August 23rd, 2008 1:31 am ET

She wasn't even on the short list Obama totally disrespected Clinton and her supporters when HE LIED and said she was. I am sitting this election out.

Wise young elder   August 23rd, 2008 12:12 am ET

Well, I am a bit disappointed- very disappointed…but he is picking someone who he is comfortable with and I just can't dispute that. It's really too bad, but perhaps he had a difficult time reconciling bringing on someone that said a lot of damaging negatives about him- negatives that Hillary would have to dispute if she were the VP candidate.

For Hillary supporters, I am sorry that she isn't the choice- if you feel that it's best to not vote at all or write her in- I cannot blame you for it.
I have to, however, vote for Obama because I feel McCain would be a big mistake- and I am afraid for this country staying on the path its on.
Barack may not be the best choice, but I'm willing to give him a try.

best wishes

john   August 23rd, 2008 12:11 am ET

Did anyone ever consider that maybe, just maybe, Hillary never wanted the VP in the first place? She didn't respect Obama enough to budget her campaign past Super Tuesday, folks. I don't think she would ever consider being his underling.

But I see her lack of insight is reflected among her supporters.

Pam   August 23rd, 2008 12:10 am ET

You Hillary fanatics are pathetic. She lost, get over it. And if McCain wins because of your misguided efforts, we'd better not see any of you here a year from now complaining about how McCain has screwed up this country. And don't believe for a minute that if she and her husband undermine Obama in hopes that he loses, that she will win the nomination in 2012. She will be toast.

Sam   August 23rd, 2008 12:10 am ET

Hillary's got prime time spot at the convention; her supporters will get their roll call and their carthasis; Bill will get a high profile speaking role; Obama will go a very long way, again, praising Hillary during his speech…what more do the PUMA people want? Whether they like it or not, Obama is going to be the nominee, not Hillary. Can anyone name any losing candidate in the primary who has been given so much deference?

Clinton is unwilling or unable to explain all those huge speaking fees Bill has received since he left office and the list of contributors to the Clinton Library cannot be revealed…can you see anyone allowing these to be a topic for Repubs to exploit?

If Clinton supporters want to vote for a guy who will put Alito-Scalia-Thomas clone on the Supreme Court, fine. When the two imminent spots show up on the Supreme Court and Roe v. Wade is overruled, well we'll see how the PUMA folks feel then.

TJ   August 23rd, 2008 12:09 am ET

My candidate lost the primary so I am taking my ball and going home to cry to my mommy. Yeah that is great vote for McCain, what a great idea, that is what Hillary wants, she wants you to flush the country down the drain….you idiots.

I really like HRC but she lost the primary, and I would say for certain she will either be in the cabinet of a supreme court justice nominee. Do you want to throw that all away?

The neocons have done it, they have convinced you to vote against your beliefs and HRC's beliefs. Go ahead fall into the trap.

Brian M.   August 23rd, 2008 12:09 am ET

Cue the whining women…

Ambrose Smith, Borrego Springs, California   August 23rd, 2008 12:09 am ET

Biden has what it takes.

Looks like Obama is choosing the right person for the job.

Jesse, St. Louis Park, MN   August 23rd, 2008 12:08 am ET

Hey Hillary Supporters,

Do you not realize that she ran the most negative Democratic Primary campaign in history? Do you know that she could not even run her own campaign (record debt)?

And, for those of you saying you are behind her in 2012, good luck with that. You have been disparaging us Obama supporters the whole campaign. Will us "18 million" supporters of Obama ever support Hillary if her supporters end up being the downfall of the Democratic Party…..No!

Moby   August 23rd, 2008 12:05 am ET

If you dont vote for Obama hoping that Hillary will make a come back, just know that we wont forget too when 2012 comes, and yeah there are millions of us.

Shaking my head   August 23rd, 2008 12:05 am ET

I wouldn't vote for him no matter who his running mate is and I'm not the only one who feels that way, it doesn't matter who he picks.

You Hillary loyalists who care more about the gender of the Democratic candidate than winning the election make women appear remarkably undeserving of suffrage.

Joe Biden is a closet racist, as indicated by his earlier comments that Obama is "clean and articulate".

Obama may well don blackface and tap dance in a 30-second ad to try to win.

not mature enough? you supporters are the immature ones, willing to throw your vote away. The man is 47 years old, he is not that young, the way he is portrayed you would think he is about 25. The man has wisdom, intellect, and integrity. Vote Obama

Chuck   August 23rd, 2008 12:04 am ET

Wow, talk about sore losers (though I think the vast majority of these "Hillary supporters" are Republicans who love the "Democrats are divided storyline). Obama won fair and square, Hillary ran a great, historic campaign, but Obama won. Now is the time for all Democrats to get behind Obama…anyone who pays attention to issues and is a Democrat has to see that he is the clear, progressive choice. If you can't see that, you either aren't paying attention or you don't want to see the truth.

Joseph Adewole   August 23rd, 2008 12:04 am ET

No right thinking politician would have thought of that…only 'mouth and kitchen' American politicians would think of such; not real politicians worldwide………….Lets all get together behind Barack and reach our goal and people should stop putting fuel on burning 'coal'….Long live The Dems.

JoJo   August 23rd, 2008 12:03 am ET

Hello!!! Write-in votes! I won't be giving up my vote. I'm be exercising my right to choose when I write in my vote for Hillary. If she's not Obama's VP choice then she is my Presidential choice. He will only get my vote if she's on the ticket with him.

Edgar, Florida   August 23rd, 2008 12:03 am ET

Florida will vote for Mccain, thanks to Obama he ruined our chances for the Democrats to take control of the white house.

Obama has desrespected Hillary and her supporters. We will vote Mccain for President for 2008

Thanks to Obama our party is divided for not electing Hillary as VP. Obama better start praying at the Wright church because if he losses in Novermber the american people will know he is not ready to lead the country because he chose not elect a wonderful leader with experince and who we elected.

Obama and Michelle has not shown no respect for Hillary, how can he lead this country, if he can't even help his brother whose living in poverty for $1 a day. What a desgrace Obama and Michelle. I had to turn the television off when I heard the news.

Obama You can't even unite your own family and help your brother how can you lead a nation.

Jason   August 23rd, 2008 12:01 am ET

The way she has behaved, her attitude, she believes she's entitled to the Presidency. If I were Obama and do get elected as President, I'd make sure she doesn't get into the cabinet.

Hillary is a spoiled, overbearing, war monger just like McCain.. She voted for the war.

All you PUMAS who vote for McCain should just stay on the dark side and never return.

McCain = World War 3.. Hillary = Same!!

Robert Rood   August 22nd, 2008 11:59 pm ET

To "Beth" and "Karen": Go ahead and vote McCain if that soothes your souls but I'll tell you this: You don't realize how silly you sound voting for the polar opposite of Hillary (i.e., voting for McCain) merely to sabotage Obama. I can't say I'm all that gung-ho over Obama either but after eight years of the most moronic and reckless president in U.S. history, voting McCain is unthinkable; he's little more than Cheney with a lousy comb-over. Truth is, Hillary and her big-money campaign staffers blew it and one would think you would have come to terms with that by now. Instead, you're displaying little more than crybaby temper tantrums as if they will do you an ounce of good. If you "help" putting McCain into power, you'll have four years of buyer's remorse.

Grace - Las Vegas   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

Good luck winning without Hillary in November, Obama. But that's ok , this way, it will be easier for her to win in 2012. After Obama falls flat on his face. We love you Hillary.

Barbara - NC   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

18 million NOT for Clinton say NO 2012

Marc   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

Obama's next priority is to get himself elected. McCain is not an easy opponent and no one else brings as much to the table as Hillary does. He ought to pick her.

Obama's got a nice sense of drama. I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary is up his sleeve….

Karen   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

Sal,

It's my vote.

You do whatever you want with yours and I'll do whatever I want with mine.

And enough with the name calling. That's not exactly helping your guy win us all over. Maybe you're the idiot.

LISA M   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

I THINK HE IS FOOLISH TO NOT , BRING HER ON BOARD. BUT AS A TRUE DEMOCRAT. I WILL VOTE OBAMA / I DON'T THINK I CAN TAKE ANOTHER FOUR YEARS GOP CHATTER, THAT MAKES NO SENSE.

Bill   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

No Hillary = No win.
He can't win without her, its just that simple! We had our chance to take the office and now it will be lost.

ricardo williams   August 22nd, 2008 11:58 pm ET

I would have like to see Hilary on the ticket. But let's face it. She has a bad attitude and bad attitude does not make good leadership. Right move Obama. I respect the man. Good judgment.

Bill Charlotte, NC   August 22nd, 2008 11:57 pm ET

Speider   August 22nd, 2008 11:56 pm ET

Thanks for wanting to hand the election to four more years of republican rule because you didn't get your way, Clinton supporters. I doubt it will happen but I'm curious; if McCain is elected, will you proudly tout that you had a hand in it because you didn't get your way? It's doubtful you will garner any more admiration than you now deserve.

What spoiled brats! I am truly disheartened that Americans would so proudly boast of deliberately trying to sabotage what's best for this nation out of petty and self-centered behavior. Shame on you all!

Obama Fan   August 22nd, 2008 11:55 pm ET

That's absolutely fantastic!!!!!

Now Obama can go ahead and win this thing come November!!! I'm so excited!!!

HRC peeps should get in line, if you don't, then you'll have yourself to blame once McSame makes us stay in Iraq for the next 100 years and revises Roe vs Wade!

Us Clinton supporters have every reason to be pissed now. This is a real slap in the face. Someone just emailed and said that she was NEVER even considered for the position. IT is now MCCain or I just sit at home.. Obama has sealed his loss.

Sharon   August 22nd, 2008 11:55 pm ET

Only chance Obama had.

The Democratic Party is not more.

The new Democratic Socialist Party is upon you.

We knew this 2 weeks ago, when all Hillary voters, supporters and delegates were purged from the DNC Website over the past 2 weeks.

This has become a Reality Show. It has been the most interesting thing this weekend. I like that innovation and creativity that Obama brings to politics. I believe in his ability. Obama is going to bring America back. He will restore the America brand to its rightful place. Number One.

Obama just lost my vote. The more I learn about him, the less I like him. This is a slap in the face to 18 million people.

I'm voting for John McCain. Although I don't agree with him on some things, at least I know where he stands on the issues. Who knows what Obama stands for these days, because he's flipped on every issue since he clinched the nomination.

David Lee   August 22nd, 2008 11:54 pm ET

"I either won't vote or will write her in."
How capricious. How self-absorbed. How utterly foolish.
I'll bet when you didn't get picked to play, you took the ball and went home.
Get over it, support the nominee, and win the election.
If every group whose candidate didn't win and then didn't get the VP vote acted like this, nobody would win.

theresa mckay   August 22nd, 2008 11:50 pm ET

Read about Obama's background sometime in his own book. I don't think you'll be impressed. What he shows by not picking Hillary as his running mate shows he is not mature enough to be president. I will not vote for him without Hillary on the ticket. I do not care if he picks another woman, No Hillary, No Obama.

TMc in Washington State

dusteallen   August 22nd, 2008 11:50 pm ET

Wow. Seriously, Hillary supporters just make her look like a horrible person. Did you even think that VP is a very lame position? Unless something happens to the President, they really don't do much. Wouldn't you rather Clinton be in a position where she can actually make a difference? Geesh. We teach our kids to support all the winners, but the way you people talk, you'd rather sell your kids future just because (s)he lost the game.

Yes we can, nothing Obama and his supporters can do now.. without us clinton obama will loose big time and i love it..hehehe.. goooo puma..haha

francis   August 22nd, 2008 11:47 pm ET

Obama will win without Clinton for sure. He will win by over 700,000 votes against McCain but will eventually lose in the electoral college. He will need Hillary to be President.

Sal   August 22nd, 2008 11:47 pm ET

You petulant, childish people who are willing to sit out this election (or vote for McCain) because Clinton didn't win the nomination really don't get it, do you?

It's all about the Supreme Court, idiots! Do you really want another 4 years of Republican BS?

Anonymous   August 22nd, 2008 11:47 pm ET

Andrew   August 22nd, 2008 11:47 pm ET

McCain wins by default.

Hillary supports feel cheated, and rightfully so to be honest. It looks like it is going to be a Obama-Biden ticket, which is simply delicious to a conservitive like me.

I could stomach Hillary, but not Mr. Obama.

This could effect the house and senate too where democrats who would have voted Hillary simply will not show up.

Respectfully,

Mark from Naperville   August 22nd, 2008 11:31 pm ET

Seems like some/most of these PUMAs were just voting for Hillary because they want to see a woman in the White House, rather than actually believing in her policies. If they believed in her policies they would vote for Obama in a heartbeat since his are nearly identical to hers. Are they so easily switching to McCain's vastly different policies out of spite, or racism?

Douglas   August 22nd, 2008 11:31 pm ET

That is very good news…he is a man of integrity. The Clinton dynasty is over for now anyways. Please wake up people, she offers nothing but hollow votes. He offers a true direction for the country. Lets all be smart and vote Obama. America must break away from the institutionalized Washington politics…… Go Obama Go.

CJ   August 22nd, 2008 11:31 pm ET

You PUMA types are disgusting. Why is it more important to back a particular candidate instead of a general ideology?

You're selfish, childish, and stupid for threatening to support McCain or abstain in this election because your candidate wasn't even strong enough to beat a newbie.

By not supporting Obama, you tacitly endorse continuing this country on its slide toward despotism and the aristocracy of wealth.

PUMAs disgust me. Get over yourselves and grow the hell up.

Looks like the DNC convention will give Obama his first war as a Commander in Chief. He's going to get bloodied. It will be a chance to build his credentials on how he handles a crisis though.

War monger McCain will be green with envy. The Republican convention is going to just be a happy place. Well unless he names a pro-choice VP. Maybe he will just so he can do battle.

CNN is trash. It is deliberately using words to convey an impression that Obama is rude in dealing with several VP finalists. The fact is, Obama is just following the standard procedure of vetting possible candidates and notifying them of his decision in a polite way. But CNN has an agenda and this is how candidates are destroyed.

Obama will be making the worst mistake of his entire campaign if he fails to pick Hillary as his VP. She is the only way he can win in November. I always thought he is smart enough to know that. But if he has been swayed by power-drunk Washington democrats into choosing another person, he will end up a runners-up in November.

Trust me!

I had predicted seven months ago that if Obama wins the nomination, the president will be a republican.

If what is stated in this article is true, than my prediction becomes a reality. The only way for Obama to have a chance at winning this election was to pick Hillary as his running mate.

There goes the dream ticket….

texas DEM   August 22nd, 2008 11:11 pm ET

As a Clinton Supporter, I now cannot wait to vote for…

Republican Arizona Senator John S. McCain 2008!!!!!

No for Obama   August 22nd, 2008 11:11 pm ET

Well there goes my vote. Goodbye Mr. Obama.

Lisa   August 22nd, 2008 11:11 pm ET

Huge mistake Barack. You just lost me, my money and lots of other democrats expecting you to do the right thing to unify our democratic party.

Nana   August 22nd, 2008 11:11 pm ET

Thank God!!

Alex   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Final straw in the disrespect of Senator Clinton. She garnered just as many votes as Obama in the primary, 18 million to be exact. His refusal to put her on the ticket, let alone even sincerely help to retire her campaign debt is more than enough to show me he apparently does not need or want my support.

DAN   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

It's Biden

ABG   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

If Hillary is not the VP, this life-long Democrat will sit this election out. With 18,000,000 voters behind her, she deserved the position.
I am still waiting for the Obama magnet that was promised when I made one contribution.
I "hope" this is not an omen of things to come. Make promises and do not deliver!

Anonymous   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Well there goes my vote. Goodbye Obama.

Where did the REAL Democrat Party go?   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

WOW, there are gonna be SOOOOO many people who don't vote this November, and SOOOOO many people who will change Parties because of this…………..talk about "Disenfranchisement"……

Ann   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

If this is true, OBAMA, you are an IDIOT.

Trina   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Duh.

John   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Thank the lord

E   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Clinton for VP or Obama loses my vote.

bad decision   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

well too bad..I wanted obama to be president, but he cant do it without clinton…he needs those votes

gohillary   August 22nd, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Well, Well, Well. Who cares? Hillary is better off. In 4 years Hillary will be back. Oh yes! Hillary: 18 million voices minus 1? Who needs him? We love you Hillary. You play second to NO ONE. See you in 4 years.

Hillary   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

I am sad =(

Barbara - NC   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

I'm glad he's bringing this process into the 21st century – maybe training for other political big shots on high tech stuff will be next?

No more horse and buggy – No more "NAM"

We have to look forward, not backward. Would CNN succeed on RADIO?

Writing Hillary in   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

Or maybe just renting a movie that night.

So sick of this clown ignoring half of his own party.

Travis in OH   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

Thank God! I would have been rather disappointed if he chose her just to placate her stubborn supporters.

Obama/Biden 08/12

No Hillary = No Obama   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

This just ices it. Obama and his team are so over confident, so arrogant, so ungrateful – for me it will be a write in for Hillary on the November ballot or I might vote for McCain – a man of experience, who had his bones broken in service to this country. Obama – what has he served, but his own ambitions.

Kathy   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

Obama, good luck you will need it. Hillary 2012

James   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

Obama obviously doesn't need my vote. How will he reach across the aisle to get things done with Republicans if he can't reach across to the other side of his own party?

Oneof18Million   August 22nd, 2008 11:09 pm ET

If this is true, OBAMA lost my vote! GO MCCAIN!!!!!

Hillary2012!!!

Mike   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Hillary for a Cabinet spot until a Supreme Court Justice spot opens up.

Casey - Missouri   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

I'm hoping Wesley Clark. That would carry Arkansas and really give Obama an attack dog for McCain.

melvinowens   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

why would obama select someone as his running mate, who publically stated that john mccain was qualified to be president, whereas obama was not qualified. hillary should seek to become mccain's running mate

Shaw   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

What a fool he is Big mistake

Rusty   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Wonderful!!!!

mike   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Great.

I love it.

Debby   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Phew I am glad if she was on the ticket I would have to vote Obama. I am going to love watching Obama/Biden LOSE.

lucas   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Too bad. Obama has just lost the election

sam   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

clinton should come out of nowhere at the convention and pull a lincoln and win the nomination.

Franky   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Oh, I know, I know!! It's gotta be Natalie Wood! If not Natalie Wood, then who?? It just has to! Now that's different, LOL!!

Barbara - NC   August 22nd, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Don't worry – he has something bigger and better in mind for her. She can do so much more as one of his cabinet members, and can work full time on something HILLARY wants to do. I'm sure they've discussed it. Just have to see November 5.

Go Obama / whomever '08

Karen   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Well that's it. He ignored half of his own party.

Maybe if he's President, he'll ignore half of his own country too.

What an ego.

Mike Bulmer   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Does this mean we can we -finally- put an end to the Clinton VP speculation?

Obama the idiot   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

That OK Hillary. We love you and we will be behind you in 2012. I for one will not vote for Obama for any reason and will proudly cross over to Republican and vote MCCAIN!!!!

AP (ATL)   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Yeah! He's done enough for her already. Maybe he will offer her a position on the Supreme Court or something like that…It's time to move on. If true democratic Hillary voters don't get behind Obama for November, I can only think of one card left in the deck that these Hillary voters are playing…O/08

Jan Illinois   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Disappointed to say the least, Disappointed for the United States and the world.

RD   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

now comes the hard work keeping the party together hope she can do it obama 2008

A. Harrison, Atlanta Georgia   August 22nd, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Good Luck Obama Campaign. And you better not Pick Kathleen either, that's hurts us Clinton supporters. Hillary worked her heart out but. it's ok.

Clinton/McCain   August 22nd, 2008 11:06 pm ET

Down with Obama! PUMA PUMA PUMA!!!!!!!

beth   August 22nd, 2008 11:06 pm ET

Well thats it for me..I am abstaining from this election!!!

Barbara   August 22nd, 2008 11:06 pm ET

Good! Thanks goodness!!

Jason, Los Angeles   August 22nd, 2008 11:06 pm ET

Thank goodness. Now let's see if she is willing and able to rally her supporters behind the only pro-choice candidate on the ballot.

It's time for the PUMA crowd to accept the reality of the situation and vote for political power, not personal vendetta.

Jerry   August 22nd, 2008 11:05 pm ET

There goes the election. Pack it in – Obama can't win without Hillary on the ticket.

PUMA 4 HILL   August 22nd, 2008 11:05 pm ET

Surprise, surprise…
And I am so thankful she didn't want it.

Where's the beef Obama?
NO BEEF
NOBAMA!

McCain '08 for Clinton '12

Mark S. Geiger   August 22nd, 2008 11:05 pm ET

Good!

judy in PA   August 22nd, 2008 11:05 pm ET

Obama/Biden 08…………notified at 3am via text message………………I'm ready.

Karen   August 22nd, 2008 11:04 pm ET

Well, if that's true, the entire election is over for me. I either won't vote or will write her in.

One way Obama could've softened the blow to us Clinton supporters and gained some respect back from us was to send us the first message explaining why he didn't choose her.

He shouldn't be favoring just his supporters now anyway. That is the most divisive move he can make. It's really foolish of him.

MG   August 22nd, 2008 11:03 pm ET

MCCAIN '08

HILLARY '12
