Source: Obama calls Veep runner-ups

Obama has already made his decision, say sources.
Obama has already made his decision, say sources.

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama called some people on his short-list for the vice presidential slot Thursday night to tell them he had not selected them as running mate, a highly placed Democratic party source told CNN.

The source did not say which people got the call.

Obama has told some other potential running mates over the last few weeks that he would not be choosing them.

If Obama does not pick Hillary Clinton, he should probably kiss the White house good bye. If he picks Hillary he will have it locked up.
Reason being, that Hillary, no matter how much you don't like her has alot of support in the American people. You can't discount 18 million voters. If Obama doesn't do it, John McCain will by picking Sarah palin, She knows how to play in the boys club and has cleaned house more then once in goverment. She is unbelievable!! . So, if he really wants to be the ,President, he knows what he needs to do to get there. The question is will he do it? My estimation he probably won't. So say hello to President John McCain.

To anyone worried about the 5' wide strip of yard Obama bought from Tony Rezko, do me a favor. Look up Donald Diamond. Read about how McCain worked backroom deals to get Diamond acres and acres of land. This isn't even in the same ballpark of inpropriety let alone the same game. read about KEATING FIVE. let's talk about real criminals. McCain was the only senator in the Keating Five scandal DIRECTLY linked to land investments. The other senator had no direct ties to Keating. Only McCain, because he and his wife invested tons into land deals with Keating's Lincoln Savings & Loan (a company that cost US Taxpayers something like 2 Billion dollars to bail out). Donald Diamond. Keating Five. Vicki Iseman. The list goes on and on and on and on and on... McCain = Bush 3rd Term = More War = Economic Abyss

If it is not Hillary, it will be a sad day for us Democrats. Obama can not and will not win without her on the ticket. Getr ready for another 4 years of the Bush administration.

Come on Obama. Make your announcement! Do you have to make a grandstand performance on everything you do??? Here is one Democrat that is not impressed with your need of constant press attention.

I don't know Jo-Ann. I would rule out Hillary. I mean if Obama doesnt pick Hil, then he just might risk alienating all of Hillary's soul sisters who voted for her during the primaries, and if history is any precursor to the future, it is going to be the women's vote that decide this election.

Bill Clinton won in 96 thanks to the Soccer moms, and Bush in 04 with help from the Evangelical vote, but most importantly because of the Security Moms who were just uncomfortable with John Kerry and his Iraq stance.
    ____________________________________________________
Correction...Bill Clinton won thanks to the African American vote....BOTH times....the absence of that vote is in part, the reason why Hillary lost.
It's going to be the NEW voters and the independents that decide this election.

Better not HILLARY. She and her egotistical husband BILL will try to overshadow and elbow arm Obama. Unfortunately he may need her to win due to her fickle 18 million supporters who keep insisting they will write her name on to the ballot, but are unable to put their money where there mouth is. $1 each would retire her debt!! Talk about empty protesting.....

I believe the Demo Vp choice will be Jack Reed, with the inevitable Don Quixote/ Sancho Panza comparison..and I don't believe it will be announced today.

"Anyone with half a brain would be relieved to to be excluded from Obama's "Yes We Can (Spread Socialism)" world tour."

Social democracy works for Canada, the UK, Finland, Australia, and indeed the majority of our political and military allies in the world. The US is the only developed first world nation without a universal health care system.

Yes We Can (Finally catch up to the rest of the world in education and medical care)

......"Deal would have U.S. troops out of Iraq by 2012"......
    So lets see....
McWar wanted to go war with Iraq and went as far as saying "It'll be relatively easy and we'll be greeted as liberator” President Obama opposed it from the very beginning.
McWar and his republican cronny wanted to stay in Iraq for “100 years”, Obama has said that with the right strategy, we can be out of country and refocus our effort in hunting the real terrorists in 18 months from the time he takes office… now the whole world, including the Iraq government thinks that makes sense.

And I ask….who has the judgment to lead??? Wake up America it’s time to take our country back.

I was a Hillary supporter. She would galvanize the republican right wing. NOt a good pick but she would be great in an Obama cabinet as head of Health Dept. - she could finally get her health care program through that we sooooo badly need! Who ever Obama picks he needs to be a "pit bull" and really go after the lieing cheating McCains. After watching McCain Revealed I dislike the man more. AND I was a republican all my life. McCain has NOT made one positive judgement in his entire life!!!! Lets change Washington–Lets take a chance on CHANGE–its sooo much better than what we have now or will have with McCain. McCain will soooo much worse than Bush and my grandkids are NOT going into a McCain draft!!! I lived through the draft era and ONLY the rich got out–sound familiar? LIke Bush & Chenney! NO MORE WARS-Go Obama!

Obama is a loser. please please don't pick Hillary as the VP.

    – and now for the real news:I can't stand Harry Reid from Nevada," I flatly told my hometown paper, the Journal in comments Thursday.

I cannot now nor will never stand this back biting senator, Mr. Reid. The only one worse is Obama. Obama is risky and Reid doesn't understand heartland of the Mid West issues. He is stuck in a state of "legal prostitution, gambling and abortions." Yes that is what Harry Reid is all about in his state of Nevada or should we say sinstate.

Remember Reid is a do nothing senator, and 'bama is a risky choice;. Both should be defeated because they gamble with our values and our country's security.

I hope Jim Webb is the VP choice.

Off topic here, but, I'm sick and tired of John McCain playing the POW card...a noun a verb and POW.
    He's turning into Rudy Guiliana – a noun a verb and 911.

I had family members that got killed in Vietnam – at least John McCain came home in one piece, and benefited from his being a prisioner.
John McCain is crossing the line every time he uses POW to try and get elected.

It would be hard to imagine that he would choose Clinton, so much baggage goes along with her. Bill would become VP Jr., Hillary would endeavor to make sure all the media spotlight goes to her, All Hillary All the Time.

I am amazed that anyone would support her candidacy. She cares about nothing or no one but herself and would do or say anything to get what she wants.

2008 will go down as the year with the poorest choices we have ever had on either side of the fence.

If he doesn't have the intelligence and grace to pick the only person that can add enough to the ticket to ensure the win in November, then he isn't ready to be our president. He needs to be thinking about what is best for the country and uniting the party, not his own petty reasons for not picking Hillary Clinton, afterall there are 18 million resons to pick her, how many votes did Joe Biden get?

This is so exciting-Next I think I'll watch bread toast-
    Who cares-
He can't win even if they resurrected JFK–Which he's trying to do thru his daughter-
All this shows is that he can't do it on his own–
Everybody sees that and when its time to pull the lever even those who support won't be able to pull the lever-even if they swear they did–

Well, sources have disclosed that Mr. Santa Claus and Mr. Easter Bunny are definitely out along with Mr. Bigfoot who removed himself from consideration after it was revealed that he was just another empty suit. I hope that Mr. Obama has unlimited, anywhere minutes because this could take awhile.
