FLIP-FLOPPING AT ITS PEAK…….!!!

Obama has picked Biden who has been a Washington insider for almost…..40 YEARS!!!

Obama has picked Biden who voted "YES" for the war in Iraq……!!!

That is "Change we can believe in"

So at this point, NOTHING HAS LEFT FROM THE AGENT OF CHANGE…….

Stop the Hate   August 23rd, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Pakuna-
How can he be "deported" to Kenya when he was NOT born there??

Ovitshio Branco   August 23rd, 2008 2:01 pm ET

There is a diffrence between being "educated" vs. being "learned."
After reading 95% of the notes (blogs) on CNN, here are some conclusions:
1.McBushCain supporters may be learned, but they are not educated. That is, they show gross negligence in doing research to uncover the truth.
2. Majority of McBushCain supporters write using "uppercase" letters, suggesting that they are rude, bitter, and inconsiderate.
3. Like their candidate, most of Obama supporters are very humble and put this nation "first". Wealth and greed are seen as secondary or remote issuesAll of the lies and disinformaiton about Barack is going up in smoke as past political propaganda.
We are now witniessing history unfolding before our very eyes, as the nations' first Democratically elected black man gets voted into the highest position of authority in the country. I can honestly say that I am proud to be an American again. Thank you Barack, for being a true leader

Lisa   August 23rd, 2008 1:50 pm ET

I think Obama made the right choice....as usual.

Pakuna..

You are part of the ignorant propaganda machine designed to spew your regurgitated garbage. Did you give Sen Obama Kenya citizenship or are you just plain ignorant? i guess it is the later..

Perhaps we can deport Sen Mcsame back to Panama because he wasn't born on U.S soil (if you are "for HRC" a la McSame transplant).. It's called a free country, you have a constitutional right TO VOTE for whoever you choose to vote for.. you are not being FORCED to vote for Obama/Biden.. there is no GUN to your head forcing you to vote for Obama/Biden.

joshua   August 23rd, 2008 1:06 pm ET

OBAMA IS A JOKE, WHAT CHANGE??? 2 MORE WHITE MALES IN THE WHITE HOUSE REMEMBER OBAMA IS HALF WHITE!!! THE ONLY CHANGE OBAMA BRINGS IS WHATS IN HIS POCKET. WHAT A BUM! Democrats Rule   August 23rd, 2008 1:05 pm ET

Perfect pick! Perfect symmetry. Obama/Biden 08! Obama continues to show great judgment and character. pakuna – you are the reason that we can't move forward and unite. If an "illegal" paid into Social Security for 30 years you are fine with just stealing that money? You don't even believe that there is room for reasonable minds to disagree on how to handle second and third generations of people who have paid into the system for their whole lives? As for your lies about Senator Obama's citizenship I would recommend you take up reading. Kenya does not allow duel citizenship and therefore he is not a citizen of Kenya. However, don't let things like facts get in the way of your anger.

obama bend over and get an exam of your brain. Biden voted to provide Social Security to illegal immigrants he voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement NAFTA he voted in favor of the invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq. WERE not these issues the reason you slammed Hillary. You are a total disgrace to your country where you have citizenship and that is Kenya. Maybe we can deport you back there.

In the words of the Progressive Democrats of America, "Biden is one of the most liberal senators." Change? Looks like an extremely liberal, partisan ticket.

If you want change, vote for the man who has crossed the party line consistently, bucked the republican establishment, and has a senator who consistently votes democratic in the senate at his side on the campaign trail.

Change in which we can believe (see, you don't end a sentence w/a preposition) – John McCain.

NO MORE OBAMA MENSO   August 23rd, 2008 12:28 pm ET

To Kevin..exactly!!!! Barack calls US at 3 a.m. because he is PROACTIVE and on the ball!!! Hillary would answer the phone because she would be up wondering where Billy is at that late hour...again!
As a supporter of Obama/Biden we just won the lottery!! Two brilliant men beats the heck out of one bitter, disloyal, hurtful and dishonest woman anyday .. she has done more damage to the Dems than anyone.... she is a divider and not true or trustworthy. THank goodness Barack didn't give in to the Clinton's whining!

thank god obama picked biden being a republican i was terrified he would pick clinton which would guarantee a democratic victory now mccain will win by a few points, thank you barack

Rich   August 23rd, 2008 12:14 pm ET

With Biden as his VP, this ticket is so balanced and makes so much sense. Biden brings experience in foreign policy, etc. And Obama brings the CHANGE that America is wanting. With this ticket, everyone wins. America wins!

Mack   August 23rd, 2008 12:14 pm ET

The Obama/Biden ticket may be okay...but what is not okay is the treatment of the Obama Campaign of Hillary Clinton. She has came out strong to support him, but he and his campaign did little this week to ease the tension in the democratic party. Some Clinton supporters are angrier than ever over this campaigns lack of respect. Hillary has been more than gracious, and people should not blame her when her supporters get mad, and they are. Obama could have and should have done more to win over this critical part of the party. Biden's choice may be for nothing.

Latinos for Obama/Biden   August 23rd, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Panamanian McCain =

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (unresolved).

McCain is dangerous, very dangerous for America!

Only an Obama/Biden ticket can bring dignity back to the White House which will once again be "The People's House!"

Motov8n   August 23rd, 2008 12:07 pm ET

This excitement will last longer tthan they're predicting. The #UNO pick. Welcome V.P. Biden!!!!

Deep Gupta   August 23rd, 2008 12:05 pm ET

I am a Democrat. I used to like Biden in 70's. I am disappinted at the selection. I was hoping for a change. We were planning to vote for a change. Obama's pick does not signify change. It is backward. Biden's actions and comments have shown his frustration, his anger, his arrogance, and some times ' shows he is a "Wiseguy". The pick shows OBama is NOT confident in his own "Change" theory. Biden represents past not future.

Again, I like Biden, but disappointed in O'Bama's first decision. I have to think and make a good decision. At this point I am NOT convinced to support "O".

sandra-california   August 23rd, 2008 12:02 pm ET

Larry Buchas   August 23rd, 2008 12:01 pm ET

God Bless the Delaware public for their enthusiasm and support. Joe Biden is a true patroit and balances the ticket.

This is another golden moment for this historic campaign. We have an opportunity to reclaim America's greatness.

Kur25   August 23rd, 2008 12:00 pm ET

I am glad he chose Biden instead of Hillary. For those who will not be voting for O for not choosing HRC that is fine. However if she runs again in 2012 she have problems getting O's supporters and the AA vote. She will lose even worse in 2012 thanks to her supporters that cannot pay off her campaign debt.

Mrs. C   August 23rd, 2008 11:57 am ET

I am a gray haired old lady who was a Hillary supporter, and now an Obama Supporter.....now with Biden, all I can say is (like my granddaughter would say) Obama & Biden ROCK!

Cindy   August 23rd, 2008 11:57 am ET

So much for Change, huh? The inevitable has happened - Obama's message has always been hype, and has always had the depth of a bottle cap. Now that the message has to be fleshed out, we've gotta bring on someone who actually knows what he's doing. Obama's just a figure head and needs someone of substance to bring the knowledge and experience to the ticket. Not too different from Bush/Cheney in that way, is it?

Repubs in 08   August 23rd, 2008 11:54 am ET

Fellow republicans,

all we need do now is continue to attack Hillary and keep their base divided.

There are plenty of not-so-bright Obama supporters out there who will help us too with their anti-Hillary rhetoric., haha, can't believe they're so dumb but I guess they are

So let the anti-Hillary attacks commence. Split the Dems and keep the white house.. this will be fun :) )

Glory be to God   August 23rd, 2008 11:54 am ET

I know exactly why he chose biden. It is simply because he does not want to agree with his VP all the time he likes to be challenged on issues. It helps him make the best decision.

Ronda   August 23rd, 2008 11:53 am ET

Excellent choice!

I love the fact that Obama had the American people involved. He wanted us to know his decision before the media.
That's putting your country FIRST!

Obama runs a very disciplined campaign. He might not have much exerience, however, his judgment is on the money!

And as for Hillary, I think she is better for our health care issues. I think she can use her experience with that part of the Obama administration. That position is better suited for her.
Just my opinion.

TrueBlue   August 23rd, 2008 11:53 am ET

Biden is a foolish pick.

Biden is another SENATOR!! Biden is from New England, Obama has no problems in that region.
Biden fits only 2 criteria.....Older and VERY white.
Biden brings very little to the ticket.

All in all, a bad judgement and a poor pick.

3rd party 08 !!
Clinton 2012 !

Change or An Obvious Lack of Confidence?   August 23rd, 2008 11:41 am ET

Obama's decision once again confirms the hypocrisy of his campaign rhetoric. This decision to pick another good old boy from capital hill is politics as usual. This has always been my problem with Obama. He doesn't have a history of change yet has managed to manipulate millions of naive HOPEfuls into believing that HE will somehow be different.

This isn't change. This is about an man who simply isn't ready to run this country. So he masterfully taps into the American pysche and picks a powerful yet empty SLOGAN to draw attention away from the obvious. This is just one of many episodes we'll watch over the next few months. Say and Do whatever you need to get yourself elected – Change or politics as usual?

Erika, KS   August 23rd, 2008 11:40 am ET

Bad choice. Turns out, Obama went for no change at all in this selection. Guess he's been lying all along with this "change you can believe in" mantra. What a joke.

Howie   August 23rd, 2008 11:40 am ET

extremely disapointed, how could you select someone who couldn't get any delegates in the primary??????? BAD CHOICE

Frank from Peterborough   August 23rd, 2008 11:39 am ET

Still waiting for the McCain campaign to talk about their policies and programs not foolish plagurized stories like a cross in the dirt.

If the Republicans are going to rely solely on attacking Obama the electorate will slowly catch on and abandon them. Well not all there will still be the extremists who won't let go regardless of how detrimental the wrong choice will be for them and their country.

La Jolla, California   August 23rd, 2008 11:39 am ET

Its a shame, and i truly hope he makes it. I dont want another republican for 4 years. I think he lost about 5 million votes with this move.

Yawdie   August 23rd, 2008 11:33 am ET

I have always, up until now that is, have great respect for the American political process. I come from a country that there were soldiers and police and polling stations just so that some brave people could go cast their votes.

I have been reading the news stories and the blogs and I have been really disgusted at the childish comments of the bloggers on both sides of the fence and also at some of the reporting.

Truly, this is not the process that I looked so forward to be a part of. I guess all that glitters is not gold!

Thanks a lot, American Voters.

Mark   August 23rd, 2008 11:32 am ET

So much for change? Obama is the superficial puppet of the liberal Democrats – not much different than the superficial Georgy puppet of the conservatives. When will the politicians get it? It's not about power – it truly is about change – but Obama doesn't seem to really believe his own words – otherwise, he wouldn't selected a candidate who would have surprised all of us – Gov Sebelius, or Kaine, even Clinton would have been a much needed shot of surprising air.

In my mind, a Biden selection means Obama doesn't have the goods and needs an entrenched politician to shore up his weakness – it confirms we'll just have more of the same for the next 4 years.

I'm a Democrat but I think I might just sit out this election year... I'm not impressed with either candidate.

Marc PDX   August 23rd, 2008 11:30 am ET

I'm sure the whole world was waiting breathlessly for this news (fist bump). Hardly worth the build up. But at least Obama picked someone who knows which way is north in Washington. Obama hasn't spent enough time there to even figure out the beltway yet.

Tom in Delaware   August 23rd, 2008 11:30 am ET

You all realize that Joe Biden has had nothing but great things to say about John Mc____(fill in blank with your favorite childish put-down here), and nothing but criticism about Obama.

I'd say "Let the feeding frenzy begin!", but I'm already too late.

At this point George H.W. Bush could run against this pair and be a shoo-in.

I'm looking forward to hearing all of the Orwellian 'doublespeak' to come out of their mouths as they pretend that they've always loved each other forever..HaHa.

steve dumford, Scotts valley ca.   August 23rd, 2008 11:30 am ET

Picking Biden with a text message at 3 AM just sunk the arrogant fool. Nice way to unite the party. Just proves that this goofball, done nothing, knows nothing empty suit is all about show and no substance. I am a Hillary supporter and this puts it in the bag for me. I'm voting for McCain.

Willa-PA   August 23rd, 2008 11:28 am ET

Great choice-anyone voting for McCain and who-ever he picks as his running mate, get what they deserve and have no right to complain when they get the same of what we've had for the last 8 years…
This Obama/Biden ticked is a great balance no matter what the pundits and Republicans will be saying. Team work is what is needed to make what was once a great country, before Bush, great again.

Biden is the wrong choice, he is Old Washington and makes no mention of change that Obama has been preaching about. This ticket will be no different than Bush/Cheney. Younger president and older more experienced VP. Makes me wonder who will be pulling the strings.

Get a life, people..... standing out in front of Bidne's house waiting to catch a glimpse. Pretty lame.

California Voter   August 23rd, 2008 11:25 am ET

So when it comes down to it Obama picks experience over CHANGE and that's why many voters will choose McCain (experience) over Obama (change).

ginchinchili   August 23rd, 2008 11:25 am ET

Now Obama has to worry about being shown up. Biden is the most qualified of the candidates who ran in the primaries, Obama the least. Biden comes across so much more genuine and presidential than Obama, who is antipodal to those characteristics. But then again, Obama's got the Britney Spears factor going for him and that's all you need here in America.

thought Obama wanted 'change', so why didn't he pick Hillary. Doesn't look good for the democrats. I have respect for Biden, but he didn't make the presidential cut so what makes him think he can make the vp spot. Biden even told Obama that Obama doesn't have the experience to be president, so is Biden just another kiss***. How can you work with someone you know can't do the job. This just goes to show how unexperience Obama really is. Obama/Biden??change?
Hillary keep your superdelegates and beat the pants off both these guys.

Obamabots, Joe Biden voted for the war and thats why you didn't want to vote for Clinton. You wanted change and guess what, Biden has been in Washington longer than McCain. Obama made a fool out of all of you. He just wanted your vote. No change here, just the same old Washington politics. Ha Ha

I can not say (WRITE) this loud enough...THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!
The news Media is out of their ever shrinking mind. You want to know why some things are blown all out of proportion..LOOK AT THIS... Here we have a U.S. Senator of 35 years, VERY WELL KNOWN...He is no different a person than he was yesterday and the Media is sitting outside he house for what??? Probably ONE or TWO comments...
1) No Comment
2) I am honored to be selected
PEOPLE this is truly PATHETIC....
last night I heard about 58 different pundits critizing how the Obama campaign has handled this selection. I DON'T GET IT!! If I recall correctly, Senator Obama stated HE would decide when the person would be announced. Then he gave out the date and the place...HOW and WHY is it his fault that the IMMATURE KNUCKLEHEADS we have in the media became obsessed with guessing who it is??? If we want America to change..the Media needs to get it priorities in order...
As I said at the beginning..THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!

HOORAY! STUPID DOES AS STUPID IS. There goes the ballgame for the Democrats. I am so happy. Congratulations to you OBAMA for not picking my girl HILLARY. Now in 2012 people will be waiting with open arms for her to try and save a weak, and trembling America Depression, Suppression from our enemies, the general ignorance of the man is if he gains the Oval Office what he will put us into. BUT I REALLY SEE HE ONLY CONFIRMS WHAT McCAIN HAS SAID ALL ALONG THE MAN HAS NO IDEAL OF RUNNING A COUNTRY SUCH AS AMERICA. SO LONG OBAMA. YOU CAN SET ASIDE THE PICK AND SHOVEL YOU'VE GOT THE HOLE BIG ENOUGH SO YOU CAN'T CRAWL OUT OF IT. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

Kevin   August 23rd, 2008 11:15 am ET

I was rooted for McCain, now, I am going to vote for Obama. "Change + experience", you can't get better than this !

Sherylanne   August 23rd, 2008 11:15 am ET

Well, there goes the "change" platform. Stupid, stupid mistake for Obama and to pick someone who can't keep his thoughts from falling out of his mouth.

Well, this is one Democrat who will be voting for McCain. Obama's choice in VP was the deciding factor.

Paula   August 23rd, 2008 11:15 am ET

ANYONE IS BETTER THAN McCain!!!!!!!!!!!! Ladies-do your homework-check how McCain has voted on YOUR issues!!

Southern State   August 23rd, 2008 11:14 am ET

Biden is the ultimate Washington insider. This guy has made more backroom deals than you could ever imagine.

And you people think Biden is good on foreign policy? Biden was the only one pushing to have Iraq divided into 3 countries. That would have ended in disaster.

Remember the so called Iraq, "Civil War". Yeah, that fizzled out and turned out to be small bump the road.

BIDEN would have split up Iraq, against the wishes of almost all Iraqi's. Then you'd have a real Civil War. Biden is a slick talker, but he's not a careful decision maker.

ben   August 23rd, 2008 11:14 am ET

Go OBAMA/BIDEN for 08.

Sharpie   August 23rd, 2008 11:14 am ET

So much for washington outsider.

No Bull no bias? that's BULL!

Ted   August 23rd, 2008 11:13 am ET

Biden — the perfect foil for Palin!

mardi   August 23rd, 2008 11:13 am ET

Obama–Biden, YES!!!!

Any ticket opposing McCain, is a ticket opposing the screwed-up Bush tactics!

Kevin   August 23rd, 2008 11:12 am ET

It`s a real shame that Obama just gave the White House to Senator McCain. Senator Biden did not win any primaries , so what makes Obama think he (Biden)can help him win the election. I`ve been Democrat all my life but I will not be voting this year. He had it in the bag unil today.

KLM   August 23rd, 2008 11:12 am ET

Today will be a perfect chance for Biden to show is ability to say something completely stupid at just the wrong time.

RJ, CA   August 23rd, 2008 11:10 am ET

Well, well! So THIS is the CHANGE you've been waiting for, folks! Obama has now - with one fell swoop - thrown his ENTIRE philosophy "under the bus!" Nice going in order to have an "attack dog" do the dirty work for Obama. Doesn't surprise me a bit. Always knew Obama was nothing but empty rhetoric.

AsBee   August 23rd, 2008 11:09 am ET

Awesome choice!
YES WE WILL!!!!

Pat_Pinehurst NC   August 23rd, 2008 11:08 am ET

Biden is an awesome, balancing addition. Someone needs to tell John King to wipe the grin off his face; he should have let it play out instead of ruining the surprise and thus missing the irony of the 3:00am call.

Peggy   August 23rd, 2008 11:08 am ET

Waited all night for my email and watching CNN. My email came at 4.44.48. Very exciting! I hope that together they will crush McCain who is just not suited to a progressive world and humanity.

A President Hillary Clinton would take a phone call at 3am.
Leave it to a President Obama to call YOU at 3am!

Come on out Mr. Vice President

c-span junkie   August 23rd, 2008 11:04 am ET

I have no problem voting for Joe, but why does Obama need him, oh right Obama has no EXPERIENCE and needs someone tobe his backbone, and coach. This is a desperation move by Obama his numbers have hit a wall and and a white Irish Catholic has to rescue him, looks like to me. I'm still not convinced that I really want Obama. It all depends on whether McCain selects a monderate for VP, and I don't mean Lieberman either.

Trannon   August 23rd, 2008 11:04 am ET

Delaine Heliotis   August 23rd, 2008 11:03 am ET

I am so very pleased (and relieved) that Sen. Obama has
chosen Sen. Biden as his running mate. He will be a very
strong, well-spoken partner, with great foreign policy
experience.

And "good" old McCain has already attacked Sen. Biden....
naturally. McCain is so filled with venomous hate. Years ago
I admired McCain, but I think he has now been taken over by
Lord Voldemort !

Kris K in CA   August 23rd, 2008 11:03 am ET

Biden is a terrific choice and will do a great job for the party. His wife and family are just the best and he will provide a good reason to vote democratic this year. He is skilled, likeable and HONEST. A quality missing in the GOP gang this year.

Montana is Obama/Biden Country   August 23rd, 2008 11:02 am ET

Move On   August 23rd, 2008 11:00 am ET

Biden is a Catholic, and Catholics believe in the Right To Life for the unborn, so if Biden is a Catholic, he must be anti-abortion, right?

Or, is he a "pick-and-choose" Christian... not really a Catholic.

This sounds compatable with Obama, who is a "pick-and-choose" my position of the day.

Franky   August 23rd, 2008 10:59 am ET

First of all, I wanna thank Jesus for this historic moment. Without Jesus, the hood(Sprignfield, Illinois) wouldn't be where it is now. And second, I wanna thank Jesus for giving us the pride. And thridly, I wanna thank God because without God, I wouldn't have the magic.

So Thank you God and Jesus!!

Californian for Obama!   August 23rd, 2008 10:58 am ET

AHAHAHHA!!! THIS IS GREAT!!

We don't need the PUMAs!! Go ahead and vote for McCain, cause this ticket will win anyways!!

OBAMA 08!!

Charlotte   August 23rd, 2008 10:57 am ET

I agree, the country would be better off with McCain at the helm. The only one who would do a better job, isn't on a ticket. I guess Joes' trip to Georgia was a lobbing trip, at taxpayer expense. I guess Obama isn't so much for change after all. Joe has been in the Senate longer then McCain and is almost as old. Maybe we won't hear so much about Johns' age now. I guess Joe was bidding his time. LMAO

jeanette   August 23rd, 2008 10:55 am ET

Obama-Biden... Another GOLD MEDAL for the USA!!!

Susan   August 23rd, 2008 10:53 am ET

Obama has now lost our vote.
