Of course the republicans are going to drag out that video of Biden criticizing Obama during the primaries. I would expect nothing less from them! He was right, at that point in time, to say what he said. But, now is now. Obama knows where his weaknesses lie and chose the absolutely best person to strengthen the ticket. Obama is not a fool. I'm very happy with Biden. If old McBush wants to get down and dirty and play the doesn''ts, he's picked the wrong guy to mess with. Biden wont back down from a fight, especially from McBush. I'm so looking forward to what's ahead now. We have a very balanced ticket now, so BRING IT ON JOHNNY!

Great Ad!!! It's why Obama will lose badly in Nov. He just doesnt have the experience to be President of the United....not even close. And nothing he can say or any v.p. he picks can change that. He was an incredibly poor candidate for the Dems to choose.

Listen To All The Jealous Haters;

Go Ahead Vote For A Man To Run The Country Who Doesn't Know Simple Facts Like What Kind Of Car Drives.

How Many Houses He Owns. Ask My Staff, No Ask Your Wife!

The Differrence Between Sunni vs. Shia

Forgets The Iran Border

And yet it's only August, 2008. Senator McCain hasn't even had to endure the stresses the office yet — the mental and physical rigors that go along with being the nation's chief executive.

Hey Sen. Richie Rich, What Color Is Your Car, Ask
Joe Lieberman.

Im just pleased it's not Hillary. Had it been the more qualified candidate to either be the Presidential nominee or VP nominee then I think McCain would have lost.

Thank you Obama for losing on purpose in November.

I am a Republican and have been for 30 years, I almost would have voted Democrat had Clinton win because I feel like she is the RIGHT "CHANGE" we need. I would have voted for her over McCain; However, I will not vote for this celevbrity.

To Hillary supporters,

Please, tell my how Obama 'stole' her nomination?
WE the people voted for obama and are choosing him as the democratic nominee. Also, do any of you people who want to vote for Mccain just to vote for Hillary in '12 have a brain? Hillary is NOT gauranteed to even run in that year if Mccain wins. Also, look at the last election. American idiots voted for Bush AGAIN? So if you want to have this economy fixed, the mortgage crisis erased, and the issues with gas prices resolved. Please DO NOT vote for Mccain.

There is a reason his nickname is Mcsame/Mcbush

A major sigh of relief from every decent American who isn't looking for free stuff off the backs of hard working Americans.

McCain wins, but most importaintly America wins.

Sorry Dems, maybe in 2012 you can run a person for president who does love this country, I don't like Hillary but there is no way to question her patriotism, good luck to her in 2012.

To : For Obama, please take just a second to read the posts on this page, are you sure it is only the Rupublicans who are mean spirited? Personally I like Obama but we are all better served by saying what he CAN do for the country instead of some of the name calling I saw on this page. This focus on the other guy is what kills Democrats every four years, we need to stay focused on the path Obama will take us on while at the same time being honest enough to say that dirty politics is not just a Republican tactic, did you see how fast the Obama camp put out an attack ad about the number of houses McCain owns?

Well, there was a time when John McCain was honorable... but this isn't it.

So I guess you're outta luck Mitt Romney. If that's what McCain's camp feels what former same party opponents say during the fight to be the party's nominee.

BTW, there appears to be plenty of Republican's saying good things about Obama, too. And these are present tense comments, not stuff dug up from the past... when you used to be honorable.

I find it funny that the republicans are accused of unfairly negative adds. Obama has been running a negative campaign vs McCain since the get-go with his "McCain is just a 3rd Bush term". Obama's entire platform is negative.

The level of hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

Can you say C O M P E T I T I O N? It's about winning....I think Obama is a better man for choosing someone who did make that comment during a competition for first place, rather than the standard attitude of "I don't care if he's the best one for the job, he said bad things about me".....shows great judgment IMHO

To those voting for McCain so Hillary can win in November.. you guys better pray Obama wins.. because if he doesn't.. there's no way Hillary will win when she runs.

Also, if Obama wins, there's a good chance that Hillary will get a cabinet position. If McCain wins, there's a good chance that Hillary's career will be stifled for 4 years... and probably much longer than that.

JUST WAIT UNTIL THEY RUN THE ADS OF BUSH AND ROMNEY ATTACKING MCCAIN. This will become moot. I personally think McWar did Obama a favor running this ad. Many will vote for Obama now knowing Biden will be there-not just as a VP but to speak his mind if he is against something Obama is doing it also shows Obama can take a punch and still do what's in the BEST interest of this country.

I am thrilled with the Biden choice! He is someone who has made a career saying what he thinks and fighting for what he thinks is right. Also, I think it IS really good that Obama chose a running mate who has the kind of experience Biden does. As much as I strongly, strongly support Obama, it does make me feel even better to know that he will have someone who has been around the block a number of times and who isn't a suck-up as his close advisor. I hope that McCain picks Romney. Those two absurd phoneys deserve each other.

Regarding experience, let's see, George Custer, Herbert Hoover, Richard Nixon all had lots of experience. Sure helped. There was, however, a fellow from Illinois whose national experience was limited to one term in the House and that was ten years before he was elected president. His name was Lincoln and, if memory serves, he didn't do so badly. For those, such as Shannon, Southern State, and McCain '08, who will vote for McCain because Hillary lost the nomination, you'll get what you deserve--someone who favors the old boy systerm, opposes equal rights and the woman's right to choose and who honors women by dumping wife number 1 when she's injured and picking up a rich trophy blonde.

All this seems pretty interesting as fresh news, but what about running the tape where WcCain speaks about reinstating the draft??

Or does 'Viet-Nam' sound any bells?

Obama had me tricked for alittle while at least. He talks about new politics and then brings on one of the oldest attack dogs in Washington as his VP. Obama has lost all credibility and looks more and more like a use car saleman by the minute.

Obama will say and do anything to close the deal! Where is his new America? It's all hype. You can't believe it. Not anymore.

The fact that the McCain campaign was so quick to bring this ad out just shows what kind of propaganda the GOP is famously for fabricating. The GOP criticizes the Biden pick as Barack admitting that he has a weakness with foreign policy. I think the adverb changes to Barack had a weakness. Selecting Biden, the Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee shows that Obama is smart enough to try and shore up if weaknesses instead of trying to wing it. When McCain picks Romney, will the GOP also say that McCain is trying to shore up his weakness on the economy. If this strategy continues we need to check and see if the GOP has a fork in their tongue.

And to you Hillary Clinton detractors and GOP trolls, Biden was the best pick for Hillary to continue her ambition to be president one day. I think the sentiment is that Obama will win and after 8 years Biden would not be interested in running because of his age. Picking the younger guys such as Warner, Bayh, Kaine, Chet Edwards would have helped their efforts to become president after Obama's time in the office.

This was Obama's decision to make and he made a good choice. And stop with the elitist crap already, McCain over 8 houses compared to Obama's 1 and McCain thinks that rich is having over $5 million dollars. If Obama is an elitist, McCain is a super-elitist!

McCain just shows his pure desperation putting an negative message out before Obama and his Vp pick even get together for the first time
With Baracks good judgement and Bidens foreign experience you cant go wrong with this team
better than McCains WAR theme and danger of bringing back the draft. How many americans have to be killed and maimed in the name of McCains so called *Victory* for an illegal war to begin with!!!!
its war that got the country into an economic mess with trillions being spent on war
Think long and hard before you vote for MCCain

Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden have obviously patched up their differences and are ready to work together for the benefit of our country and its citizens. These quips from the past primary when they were rivals are not important to anyone with a modicum of sense.

This Vet will vote for Obama, because I see no difference between McCain and Bush. He's even running his campaign like Bush, and that's his biggest "flip-flop" of all. He is no maverick he is just another George Bush clone trying to run on the sympathy of his POW experience. Enough already.

How many votes did Biden get in the primary...oh that's right he had to drop out becuase HE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH SUPPORT!

Rule number one do not pick a VP who dropped out early due to lack of support over a person who had more popular votes than you in the primary. This is how you split a party in two. Now those of us who supported Hillary feel we don't matter to Mr. Obama. So I guess it makes sense to either stay home in November, or vote for McCain, who by the way will pick a woman as his VP, or write in Hillary. HMMM...choices....choices.

let's not kid ourselves, the obama team has their clips in the ready once mccain announces his choice. as some here have noted, if romney is the mccain pick, the dems will run similar clips. and while politicians do make statements about their primary opponents, biden's comments centered around obama's inexperience and not being ready, which is far different from a comment like "voodoo economics".

Yeah and many times McCain spoke out publicly against Bush but we all know that was just politics and the two were and are still busom pals cut from the same cloth. And we also know that if John could have got Biden for his VP he would have taken him into the fold in a nanosecond! Dems win, Republican loss! Guess it's the luck of the draw!

OMFG the Hillary Supportes need to shut up. Obama helped donate to her campgian, he placed her name in the nomnation. WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE?

I supported Hillary from the begin to the end and made 1,000 phone calls and you know what I had Hillary Supporters saying they didn't like this Hillary anymore. She wanted it so bad she was so rude and mean and didn't give a crap.

I still have respect for what she has done but, no McCain is using everything she did. And trust me in '12 McCain will not be done with his first term because, he will not win.

I notice what was conveniently missing from that ad is that Presidents often don't get along with their VP's. Remember when George HW Bush picked Reagan to be his VP, even after referring to Reaganomics as "voodoo economics"
It happens all the time, candidates pick people who may not agree with them. Don't believe the Rethug hype - they are just shaking in their boots because they realise that Obama/Biden will flatten McElitist/whoever.

Unbelievable how stupid politicians are. Obama lost the election by dissing Hillary and now before the convention, we get Biden saying how unqualified Obama is to be President. This is why the Democrat elitists this year have lost the election, they are forcing their will on the voters. As a REAL Democrat, I cannot wait until the people finally get some REAL leadership in the DNC and every vote counts is a reality.

Anyone who votes for McCain solely because Hillary isn't the Democratic nominee is either (1) a racist, (2) a hpocrite, (3) a Republican or (4) all of the above.

We just lost the election because of Obama's poor judgement. That means another 4 years of republican hell and than hopefully Hillary if she still wants to run.

Look - everyone knows that during the primaries contenders will say whatever they need to in order to knock the perceived front-runner out of the race. Nobody cares what anyone says about McCain, Obama or anyone else during the campaign. Bush had a lot to say about McCain...and look at how tTHEY ended up...now McCain is running for a 3rd Bush term!

Oh, come on people. Both Republicans and Democrats run negative ads but do not just blame it on one party. Give me a break. Both parties play the same game and everyone is dirty in the field.

What's the fuss? Everyone knows everyone lies during a campaign, saying what's advantageous in the moment... in which case what's the point of dredging up old news clips?

Oh ... and I guess the Republicans will be after Obama for choosing a VP that balances his lack of experience in Foreign Affairs ...

Balancing the ticket ,,, ah, yes ... so obviously McCain will want to get his ticket balance right by choosing a VP who is very intelligent ...

Obama chose Biden to try and match mccain on his experience. I think he is looking at the gerneral election and where the reps can attack him. Obama has little foreign relations experience as well as little time in DC. Biden on the other hand has more experience than any other senator and balances the card. It is a very wise move that hopefully wont alienate too many hillary fans. Lets face it though.....do you really want another republican in office. I couldnt take another 4 years of facism!
