Dems might counter-program GOP rally

DENVER, Colorado (CNN) - Call it the battle of rallies.

Barack Obama campaign sources told CNN's Gloria Borger and Jessica Yellin that Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, will have their first post-convention joint rally Friday, likely in Pennsylvania.

That's the day after Obama gives his presidential nomination acceptance speech, wrapping up the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

And it's also the same day that John McCain is expected to hold a rally in Dayton, Ohio. The conventional wisdom is that the Ohio event could be the first public appearance of McCain and his yet to-be-named running mate.

Obama sources say the joint appearance by Obama and Biden could be a good way to counter-program the Republicans.

They also said that one state Biden will be visiting frequently is Florida.

Sources also tell CNN that the presidential nomination roll call will take place on Wednesday from late afternoon into early evening.

Both Obama and Hillary Clinton's names will be on the roll call of delegates.

And CNN also hears that director Steven Spielberg is making a video that will air on Wednesday night at the convention hall at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

The video is about military veterans, and fits with the convention's theme of the night, which is a salute to veterans.

Biden/Obama – both arrogant, one stammers and one babbles!

The Obama ticket is the mean machine without credibility! Both guys have at least two stated views per issue. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! :)

But, the divisive, sexist, racist movement inspired by Obama that spawns hate and extreme anger is a huge problem for America!

    Obama never! :(

Don't waste your vote! Vote for McCain 08 and Hillary Clinton 2012! :)

Obama haters are the type of people who are secretly afraid their girlfriends or boyfriends are attracted to them anymore. They harbor jealousy and competition towards strangers and are fearful of people they perceive as inspiring and lucid.

GO ON AND TRY TO VOTE THE BEER SWILLING common man into office and see what happens!

we have not had a president on our intellectual and spiritual level recently except GW BUSH, and that went well, having Alfred E Newman run the country with Darth Cheney.

WAKE UP and get with the future.

It is amazing to me how so many otherwise smart people can be fooled by one such as Obama. He has lied, not to me, but to his own supporters how many times now. Let's see – Iraq, NAFTA, oil drilling, and the list goes on. His lies on these positions hurt the people that support him. It doesn't matter what he does, you people explain it away and keep on loving him. Wise up! The only change he wants is a change of address and he will say anything and do anything to get it!!

The Democrats will checkmate the GOP the day after their convention with a earth shaking announcement about the election.

Colin Powell to tell Mc Cain to stop trading on his name.

Now that Senator Obama has chosen Senator Biden as VP, I want to see both of them out there. I am excited, both for Obama and Biden. It has been a long time since I am excited about any political candidate, not to say the money that I have contributed to the campaign. Heck, I am hopeful that a politicican can bring about change this time around, provided he has the ground people working in their local community, and with Obama's strategy, it might just work this time around. Rather than just complaining when a politician can't bring change, play your part in history. Obama has the ground network to make this possible. And if there isn't one in your community, create one in your community, and you being the leader. You can be the voice for your local community. Obama wants to hear from you. Obama website has the tools for this. Play your part in history, and when you look back, you'll be happy to remember you've done all you can to turn this country around when it faces troubled times.

Before angry Hillary Democrats vote for McCain, please take the time to review his record. If you care about pro-choice, womens' and civil rights, Supreme Court justices, Iraq, Iran and the economy, and other important issues, you won't go near McCain. Be angry if you want, but be smart. Voting McCain so he can rub YOUR nose in it if HE wins gets YOU what??

Counter program!? Don't worry... Rage Against the Machine is playing across the river, and thousands of protesters are scheduled to be out in the twin cities' streets – it's going to be off the hook!

Republicans claim to hold the moral high ground on character and yet, they are the first to attack their opponent’s character with ruthless abandon at the very expense of their own. So all you Republican bloggers who try to be come off as Hillary supporters, you have really defined the supreme hypocrisy of your party and the depth of your sickness. Look at your own character before you attack someone else’s character.

Griff, I agree with you, could not have said it better.

Mom for Obama, do you really live in Florida???? Wake up girl!!! Open your eyes and ears, we had REPS that were voting for HRC and now there has been a complete 360 degrees turn around, the same REPS voting for Mc Cain + DEMS voting for McCain. Remember that NOBAMA was never a favorite in FL and will never be, so Biden stay home!

Kman, we are much smarter than what you credit us for, we can see that NOBAMA is NOGOOD for this country. He is egotistical, looks after his own interests, no judgement, no experience, arrogant, elitist......... If you think that his flip flopping is change, then good for you!!!!! But he doesn't fool us!!

I believe thats great. We needed an attack dog, visicous to any body that tries to attack obama. I like it alot. PUMA and GOPer BS will not influence my independant vote. The resume creds that biden brings is alot better than McCain or PUMA riff raff could ever propagate.

Independants for a better political landscape.

So much for "new politics". This plan to subvert Senator McCain's
moment is not only "old politics"; it is petty and ungentlemanly.
Senator Obama is not so different, just more ambiguous in his
positions, more ruthless in his politics and less prepared for the
    office he seeks.

I guess people forgot the picture of America, Joe Biden everyone knows is the man, McCain praised but as politics go thier going to bring up his past, can't wait til Biden throws the whole Keating this at McCain.
If you think that this is not the Dream Team, or the best thing to happen to America in decades then your either closed minded or coming out of a coma, or living under a rock, America needs this, it will put us on a new course and politician that are in school now will see a correct way to run a country

The only elitist is McCain. I should know. I live in AZ, and he has done nothing, NOTHING for this state. Let him go back to one of his many, many expensive homes, and retire. He is not going to win this election no matter whom he choses as a running mate!
