I am there, for the first time in my life I am supporting a Republican. Obama could have done something to salvage his presidential bid and once again he took the wrong path when he picked the weakest link and went with the "safe” VP. I wish him good luck. It's too bad he could not see the fact that he need it to Woo the base of the party that supported Hillary and Biden is not going to do it for him. Biden accentuates his weakness and he would have been the best secretary of State.

One thing that every Clinton supporter must realize is that when it is all said and done - Senator Clinton is a rich lady, Senator McCain is a very very rich man and Senator Obama has not done too bad (writing two best seller books) . Whether Senator McCain or Senator Obama wins they are going to be fine. If Senator McCain wins will you be fine financially - with him planning to keep the tax structure the same as President Bush or will you be better off under Senator Obama's plan that will give those of us making under 150,000 a tax break.

Are you people out of your minds or has the mentality of America regressed to the age of school children. Tit for tat behavior does not belong in adult decision making. I am sorry your candidate didn't win. But deal with it, get over yourselves and move on for the betterment of the country. And think of your children and the lessons you are teaching them with this behavior. Well if you don't win, get even. And by the way I am a life long Republican voting for a Democrat for the first time in my life and to the disgust of everyone in my life. I am being blamed for all the abortions in the world and etc. And if I can DEAL with it SO CAN YOU!!!!!!!

As a republican, I can honestly say I won't be voting for McCain. So I guess tit for tat.. too bad I am not a delegate.

I firmly believe Obama is the better candidate. No, he doesn't have the 'experience' that the elder McCain has but then again, at this stage in our countries demise, I am more than willing to give a younger, more energetic candidate the reigns of our country.

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it (as a white male), I feel that there are a lot of Hillary supporters who won't be voting for Obama strictly because of the 'color' factor. I feel that Hillary didn't have the popular vote, she had the 'color' vote and that will carry over to the presidential race.

As a New Yorker, I will not be voting for anything that has to do with Hillary Clinton.. that includes the Senate. Her empty promises to upstate New York about Jobs, income and education were just that.. empty and the typical rhetoric used by politicians to gain a seat - regardless of what lies and deceit that has to be used.

You promised upstate NY 200,000 new jobs Hillary! Where are they?

Sure McCain would get the 2-3 million Clinton crossovers, but a the same time loose at least 50% of the Republican base. I mean they HATE her...

this clinton supporter was waiting to see who Obama would choose. Hoping for Hillary. Well, for me, and many of my friends, this was the last insult from a guy who just doesn't understand the power we have as Clinton loyalists. I will be voting McCain for sure in November.

It is asinine to for *any* democrat to vote for someone who is idealogically opposed to everything that you as a democrat claim to believe in. McCain will appoint more conservative justices to the supreme court, overturn Roe v. Wade, and has a *horrible* record on womens health issues:

He voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control (3/22/03).

He voted against comprehensive, medically accurate sex education (7/25/06).

He voted against international family planning funding (3/14/96).

He voted against funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05).

He voted against public education for emergency contraception (3/17/05).

And he voted against restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low-income women (3/17/05).

NPR reported (2/2/08) that, “Many Republican voters seem to believe, incorrectly, that the current Republican front-runner, Arizona Senator John McCain, supports abortion rights.”

For any self respecting Democrat to vote for McCain simply because their candidate didn't win is not only an immature political neophyte, but alot can be said of the character of anyone who would cut off their own nose just to spite their face...

It is truly disappointing to see Hillary Clinton supporters switch their support to John McCain over the simple fact that he did not consult with either her or Bill over his VP nominee. Why should he consult with anyone other than his close advisers? Barack Obama has run an outstanding campaign, beating all odds by taking the spot over Hillary (she is still a great representative of the party, and she will remain that). However we need a united party in order to defeat the Republican Party that has destroyed this country during the past 8 years of President George Bush presidency.

Please stop this nonsense and pull together. Our country and our children deserve a better future!

Who cares......Are you voting for the person or the issues? Hillary and John McCain are worlds apart on the issues; so what is really the motive. I am a Barack Obama supporter; but had Hillary won the nomination I still wouldn't vote for John McCain. These people really need to get it together and take a long hard look at what is going on in this country and around the world. John McCain is not the answer to our problems we face.

If you are going to treat her this way I dont expect you to think about or treat an average american like me with any respect either. I sure hope you lose.

How much was this lady paid? She doesn't talk about a single issue she just demostrates her anger over losing. Anybody who votes for John McCain out of anger better be able to take responsiblity if he wins. They will have no right to complain the next 4 years when their children and grandchildren are drafted into the military and they see poor people getting poorer while the wealthy get wealthier.

If Barack loses the election because Hillary Clinton supporters vote for McCain why do you think she will win in 2012? His supporters will not vote for her either. I saying this because when it happens I'm not going to show up to vote in the next election and I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel the same.

In fact I don't believe these poles. barck has raised more money than any politician in American history. All of his supporters will vote and he will win by a landslide.

This just makes me sick. Obviously Hillary supportes are not supporting her due to what she believes in. Otherwise they wouldn't go against everything she believes in by voting for McCain. It's quite disgusting. As far as her not getting VP, why would they want Hillary in such a role as VP where she can't do nearly as much for the country as she can in the Senate?? I'll tell you why.... ego. It sounds better, and she's a woman, and that's all it is. Otherwise there is absoluetly no argument as to why Hillary supporters are so angry. How about the fact that she didn't even WANT to be VP?

You support Hillary so much, that now you don't even want to listen to her or even follow her beliefs. That makes ALOT of sense. And it makes even less sense for the women supporting Hillary. To go and support a candidate who is so anti-women's rights is just unbelievable. You get what you deserve in the end.

Seriously folks; you need to get over the fact Sen. Clinton lost, and get behind Sen. Obama. Voting your anger is only going to guarantee another four years of hell for America. John McCain is not a maverick; he is a follower of George Bush, and will continue to drive our country in to the ground.

Sen. Clinton will likely run again in four years, and if Sen. Obama hasn't done a good job in your eyes; by all means vote for her then. But if you cross party lines and vote for Sen. McCain; you will be handing her a tougher job than Sen. Obama faces now.

Please take a minute to think this through, and get a Democrat into the White House who will help Congress get this country back on track.

Thank you.

Obama & Biden '08

A lot of Republicans and Indys will vote for Obama, so it all balances out! See how well that works?

CNN, we're tired of you giving voice to a few delusional Clinton fans and right wing plants. These divide and conquer tactics may have worked in the past, but not this time

This woman makes no sense whatsoever. It is obvious that she just doesn't like Obama, and that's okay, but to vote for McCain and campaign for him shows that her personal preferences outweigh what the principles of the democratic party stand for because McCain is anti-Hillary on the issues from the economy to the war.

You can make Hillary stump for Obama, but you can make ANYBODY VOTE for him. You should have left well enough alone and let Hillary lose or win without such gross manipulation and crude bias-it's left so much bitterness and disaffection. Even I am suprised at how turned off I am to the whole election.

It is time for Howard Dean to resign. Barack is not capable of making a sound decision, He picked pciked Biden who has been 10 years too long in Congress. Is this CHANGE?
Now its ok for Florida and Michigan to have full voting rights

McCain should select a woman Vice President . Meg Whitman is perfect. She is accomplished--former CEO of Ebay. She helped to grow a small internet business into a global giant. She understands the needs of a small business owner. Remember , it is in small business where most new jobs are created.
Meg Whitman is not unfamiliar to Americans . Many people have interacted with Ebay by either buying or selling items.
Plus, by selecting a woman, McCain would show respect for all women--something Obama hasn't quite accomplished yet.
Meg Whitman would be change you can believe in.

We will not FORGET......but in the end Obama and Biden will win in a huge landslide!!!!! Nobody wants four more years of bush and that is what John Mc____(fill in the blank is)!!

This says it all. While the Democrats try to narrow their base by trashing Hillary and her supporters, by threatening Hillary with their thuggish tactics, the Republicans try to expand their base by trying to appeal to disaffected Democrats. This is how the Republicans have won through the years. And for all of their talk, Roe v Wade has survived Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. It will survive McCain.

This doesn't make any sense, people!!! Hillary and Obama shared a very similar stance on the major issues (Iraq, national health care, the economy, etc.), while McCain has an entirely different one altogether. How can you possibly go from supporting Hillary to supporting McCain?! Unless you don't care about the issues period and are making this major decision out of pure spite? Aren't we Americans better than that?

TYPICAL republican behavior - divide and conquer - the only problem is those that are so called "Clinton voters" were never democrats and were only voting for a women regardless of her positions on the issues, her inability to run an effective campaign and her lack of fundamental management skills to keep her staff from fighting amongst each other.
This is someone obviously NOT voting for the issues...obama and clinton were so alike on their stances that they couldnt really debate eachother on the issues because they agree....look at what the candidates stand for, not that they beat you top pick.....I have never met a more bitter group of people

It is shameful that these folks are allowing themselves to be exploited by the republicans. If this woman or any so-called Hillary clinton democrats truly believed in her and her vision, there is no way they could align themselves with the failed policies that McCain wants to continue. Simple truth is that these folks really have no beef with Obama in terms of policy because he and Clinton views are very similar. It all boils down to the fact that there are some people in this country who will just never vote for a qualified man who just happens to be black. You can hide behind whatever excuse you want to purport but it is a smoke-screen and you don't want to acknowledge or to confront your own racial bias. It is sad because true democrats who share the same vision and values would never vote for policies that are against everything that democrats stand for which is "the average american citizen". For those who say you will vote for McCain, go ahead! There is a new wave of voters who are democrats, republicans, independents, balck, white, red, yellow, brown who have caught the vision and see the hope and will vote for change this November.

PUMAs, explain one thing to me. I know that you will come out in droves on this article, saying "Thank you McCain for listening to us." Meanwhile, during the days leading up to Obama's VP selection, the idea of a Hillary VP was viewed as Pandering. How is this not Pandering?

Some of you just really seem determined to hate the guy.

Juvenile...that's all I can say. In 2000, I liked John McCain, today, I don't know who this person is...he has changed dramatically. A maverick no more.

Unity ticket? Hillary is as near to the Anti-Christ (read: Bill Clinton) as you can get for the Republican base. Imagine El Rushbo teetering over the edge of insanity.

Seriously though, if there are Clinton supporters who feel that Senator McCain best represents their interests and values, then they should by all means consider voting for him. However, others who are continually threatening to do so because of stubbornness, hurt feelings, perceived media bias against Senator Clinton, etc. do very little to make themselves appear as members of a conscientious or educated (I know) electorate. Especially if you feel that Clinton's primary platform was most in tune with your personal beliefs. The fact of the matter is that Senator Obama's platform is SO similar to that of Senator Clinton's. Honestly, the biggest differences that anyone was able to discern through the multitude of primary debates was their distinct personalities.

I signed up for McCain this weekend. What democrats are failing to recognize is that Obama made Hillary voters feel like they are the enemy. It's plain and simple, Obama and his supporters clearly do not want my vote and McCain does. While Biden is a good choice for VP, Hillary would have been a great choice. Axelrod and Obama supporters - LAY OFF - you and your candidate pushed us to the other side with maneuvers like Patti Solis Doyle.
