Castellanos: What Michelle Obama needs to do

Michelle Obama has a tough task ahead of her.
Michelle Obama has a tough task ahead of her.

Michelle Obama is going to attempt to give us a more intimate view of her husband when she addresses the Democratic National Convention tonight.

That's sometimes difficult with political leaders like Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan whose strength is stature not intimacy.

It doesn't keep them from being president. But that stature keeps them emotionally distant from us. Obama has a bit of that emotional teflon that Reagan had too.

Let's see if Michelle Obama can penetrate it tonight.

Just be herself. I think the American people are tired of the PHONIES!!!! Just be real with the American people and let us decide!!! Why is this so difficult for so many politicians?????

What michelle and obama & their ads need to is to link McCain
to the Republican party, not Bush. Bush is out already...we need to
get the Republican party out. They should refer to Harry Truman's speech at the '48 Demo convention. GO AFTER THE REPUBLICANS...NOT BUSH.

The reason people don't like Michelle Obama is because they are afraid of a strong, independant woman, she is herself not portraying a 1960's stereotype of the helpless innocent southern bell like Hillary or the no brains rich brat Cindy McCain

She needs to avoid cameras at all costs.

She should take off some of that makeup and let her natural beauty shine through.

What Michelle Obama needs to do is be herself. What CNN needs to do is stop trying to compete with FoxNews for a non-issue controversy. They are the masters of that. Their audience depends on the pundits thinking for them. At one time CNN was a professional news outfit. It is now becoming The Jerry Springer News channel.

Michelle better watch it with the anti-American talk. This country isn't buying it, and it most certainly doesn't help her hubby's situation.

Michelle Obama is very stirring and inspiring. She speaks the way we speak, but more coherently and eloquently and without the nerves that would cause us to freeze up if we had to speak to groups as she does.

It is sad that some people will try to tear her or anyone down over things they know to be false, just to advance their own agenda. It is sad that people who try to do the right thing and try to help make the world better are stupidly, viciously, and falsely attacked because they haven't been turned into vacuous, scripted automatons.

Let your clear love of your husband come through this will distinguish you from past first ladies like Laura, Hillary & Nancy. Yes they loved but your relationship with Barack is different.

Privately, tell Brack to campaign in the parking lots of WalMart once a week and to wear some jeans and a sweater when he does it.

Why does CNN ask a GOP strategist what Michelle Obama needs to do? Isn't that a lot like asking Burger King what McDonald's needs to do to sale more hamburgers. I do appreciate that CNN has commentators from both political parties. But sometimes I think you present too much in opinion which hurts the credibility of the news.

"The reason people don't like Michelle Obama is because they are afraid of a strong, independant woman, she is herself not portraying a 1960's stereotype of the helpless innocent southern bell like Hillary or the no brains rich brat Cindy McCain"

Helpless and innocent are the last words I would use to describe Hillary. And being from Illinois, she's no southern belle either.

I am ceertaine that I am not th only one who objects to the peek at what Michelle Obama will say in her speech.

Give the speakers the curtesy of waiting for them to present their speech in person.

You may get your jollies from jumping the gun but you do diservice to your listeners as well as to the speaker.

It is as bad taste as revealing the end of a mystery story to those who are in the middle of reading the book.

Please show a little more respect for the audience.

I can't understand why many of my fellow Americans feel that they do not know the Obama 's. I think many of my fellow American simply are not ready to choose a sophisticated worldly man to become our next president. Many Americans would rather keep loosing jobs and homes, pay higher prices for groceries and so forth. I think it does not matter what Mrs. Obama says tonight, she will not be able to change the American minds who feel that stupid is better because they are idiots themselves. Vote for Obama or loose you home and job foolish Americans.
