Ah yes, the CNN censor continues to cut anti-Obama posts…..

Alice Burns   August 25th, 2008 9:02 pm ET

I cannot believe that on this historic night of the Democratic Convention CNN would run a McCain advertisement. What a rude and disrespectful thing to so.
The bottom line AND the major problem with this world is all about money.
My husband and I are extremely disappointed in CNN's poor taste.

Fred T Potter   August 25th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

My comment is we have already missed Nancy Pelosi and now the goon squad is talking over Michelle Obama, Let's SHUT UP and let us hear the speakers not the jerks that think they know everything.

Jennifer   August 25th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

I waited for the opening speech of Speaker Nancy Pelosi only to hear the ongoing commentary of Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper speaking over her voice the entire length of the speech! Guys, she is the most powerful political female in the U.S. You're great commentators, but you could have let her be heard for at least a few moments…luckily the speech was aired in full on CNN en Espaňol.

Dianne Palmer   August 25th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

We tuned in to CNN this evening to watch the democratic convention and have been sorely disappointed. So far all we see is Wolf Blitzer and Carvell and Anderson Cooper, the usual nightly crew, talking over the speakers and overplaying the speakers with commercials.

Some "coverage" !! There are people who actually want to see the convention and hear the speakers, so could these camera hogs pls give us a break.

Jennifer   August 25th, 2008 8:28 pm ET

What a bunch of crybabies! So he didn't pick Hillary, Thank God! As a NYS resident, I can tell you now that if he had picked her, I would have lost all of my respect for him She hasn't done anything that she promised us NYers, so why would I want her blowing smoke up my butt in the White House????? But, I guess that handing over the white house to a man whose biggest accomplishment and only topic of conversation is that he got caught in Vietnam.

Tim   August 25th, 2008 8:25 pm ET

This is almost funny. CNN has a crawl at the bottom of the screen that says "Convention speeches unfiltered and uninterrupted, yet they have not yet stopped talking over House speaker Pelosi. What happened to the uninterrupted part?

Tony C   August 25th, 2008 8:24 pm ET

Hey
How come C-Span coverage of the convention is what I envisioned for CNN. Get away from the pundits and provide us with the meat which are the people who are at the podium. The Democratic party is about the people. Let them speak

Melissa   August 25th, 2008 8:24 pm ET

Given how much time and money you have all spent at CNN to promote the DNC do you even know it's started?! For days and days you have been spending every spare minute talking about it, and you sent every correspondent you could find off to Denver. Yet in the 3+ hours it's been on you've barely shown a single thing! All you seem to be doing is showing people rudely playing with silly maps and having irrelevant conversations while the action goes on behind you. Personally I've turned over to CSPAN at least there I can watch the actual DNC and right now am listening to an amazing speech by Speaker Pelosi - perhaps someone at CNN might want to turn over and watch it too.

@ NOBAMA 08:

WE ARE IN A RECESSION……. AND JUST WAIT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR NATION IF MCWAR GETS HIS WAY……

OUR NATIONAL DEBT HAS DOUBLED DURING THE LAST 8YEARS OF MCCAIN/BUSH/CHENEY…….. AND MCCAIN WANTS TO CONTINUE

"BOMB……..BOMB………..BOMB IRAN" WITH WHAT MONEY? OH YEAH, WE CAN BORROW SOME MORE FROM THE SAUDIS AND THE CHINESE!

LET'S GET INTO SO MUCH DEBT……. THAT OUR NATION IS BANKRUPT…….. AND WITH ……….$10 TRILLION (THANKS TO BUSH) OF DEBT…….. WE ARE NOT FAR FROM DISASTER!

BUT GO AHEAD AND VOTE FOR MORE OF THE SAME!

jeanette from Charlotte   August 25th, 2008 8:04 pm ET

I'll tell you what CNN needs to do… stop spending all the convention time talking about the Clintons!
This IS Obamas convention and we're not hearing anything about him at all!

adam   August 25th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

This is the time to come together Democrats and AMERICA. Its time to be adults, there much to be lost if we dont learn the lesson from the last 8 years this is not the time for games. This is the time to take the country back for the average hard working, taxpaying americans. America has been long too divided and our inability to do whats best for the country as so called patriots is hindered because of it, let stop talking about patriotism and be patriots for america. In case you dont know, there are republican, democrat, black, white, other, soldiers fighting abroad. There is NO reason to be divided as a people, trust that the world is watching. Lets learn our lessons after the last 8 years and lets move this country forward together as americans.

Bill A   August 25th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Thom….Same reason they'll do it at the republican convention. This country, unfortunatelly does not vote, intellectually. on issues but on personality……

guy   August 25th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Do we really have to watch that? and then the Republican?

lachina   August 25th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

Hi,
I keep hearing that Michelle Obama will tell us about Barack's values in the Democratic Convention. I certainly hope these values are not the same values Edward's wife was talking about when she spoke about her husband while John Edwards was impregnating his own values in his publicist which by the way materialized after nine months.

deborah derouen   August 25th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

Too much talk of the clinton's, And why does Michelle Obama need to explain how they are just like us. They are humans, they are Americans.

McDraft   August 25th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

LT for Obama-get a grip and see my other post- part of comment was cut off in responding to Ron/Democrat. I am on your side.

Thom - Netherlands   August 25th, 2008 7:37 pm ET

I wonder why CNN, for the last few hours, is not discussing the issues around the democratic convention.
It gives the impression that it's only looking for controversies with the Clintons.

It keeps the hype going on, instead of talking politics.

Tjaye in LA   August 25th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

I am watching online and I have to say…there has NEVER been better music at the convention than there is this year.

Peter (CA)   August 25th, 2008 7:23 pm ET

Get a grip folks. Dameun's finger slipped–he meant 30 million.
But this is the perfect example as to why this country is where it is. Instead of arguing the issues, we spend all this time on trivia.

MikeH   August 25th, 2008 7:15 pm ET

Nobama,

Name one Nobel Laureate or leading economist BY NAME, and list his article, that supports your gibberish.

Or go and find your true purpose, being a compost heap.

I have always voted Democratic and if Hilary had won the nomination would have supported her even though I voted for Obama in the primary. For those Hilary supporters that are planning to vote Republican rather than vote for Obama…Question…….Did you forget how the Republicans treated the Clintons in Bill Clinton's last term in office? Explain that to me…..

Cynthia   August 25th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Watching every bit of coverage.

Emma, San Jose, CA   August 25th, 2008 7:06 pm ET

The DNC did the right thing. Hillary would not have had enough delegates no matter how they could have sliced it.

No Hillary - not ever.

A sign of being insane is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Get it people. Vote for Obama/Biden and only for a Democrate this time will get us all out of this insanity.

I'm happy when you don't post my post because that mean's I am doing my part. Vote for Obama 08 and 2012.

Fran   August 25th, 2008 7:02 pm ET

There is too little coverage of speakers inside the convention hall. Too much coverage of the small smear type demonstrators.
Let's see more of what the convention is about…going forward into the future with hope,
Please, less of the pundits opinion and gossip which is not uplifing in the least…

BK   August 25th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Bush was a drunk and now they are trying to elect a drug user and someone who spent 20 years in a hate church and teaching his kids to be the next generation of haters. It could only happen in america.

Republican for Obama   August 25th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

They need to stop reading from the television prompter. It sounds very artificial and unemotional.

John Smith   August 25th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

CNN, please stop deleting my reality responses to people's concerns. If you can come up with something better, please POST it and I'd be glad to read it:
As I grow older, now in my 60's here are some things that I have learned:

1. The Democrats have low IQ levels when in comes to politics; the Republicans have very high IQ levels in the area of politics.

2. Democrats are emotional (kind of sissy-like); the Republicans are emotionally-stable, determined, and have a clear goal–TO WIN!!

3. The Democrats worship their candidates (the person), the Republicans are very faithful about the party, not the candidate (even when such a candidate is dumb or senile, he or she will get their support).

4. The Republicans are great at running campaigns, but terrible at running a large nation such as the U.S.

5. The Democrats love to lose (losers); the Republicans love to win at all cost, no matter the means!

6. The Independents are the true Genuises; only they can rescue the "wimpy" Democrats from the hungry-politically smart Republicans!

So, this is the last and best opportunity the Dems will ever have, for the next 20 years, to regain the White House. Let us watch them screw it up again because of their goddess!

To the gentleman who saaid there were 300 million African Americans in this country…….. aren't your figures a little high??? Too bad they didn't cast their vote in the primaries on issues rather than race. Also, don't forget he"s half white but usually doesn't mention that.

Dem in CA   August 25th, 2008 6:31 pm ET

Dameun Strange - The entire US population is barely over 300 million of which 12-13 percent is African American.

I hope every woman that supported Hillary, either monetarily, or physically like I did, DOES not support or vote for Obama. I think Obama picking Mr. Biden, one of the oldest thinking Washington politicans, over picking Hillary was a great slap in the face. If Obama wants a new Washington and that way thinking why would he pick Mr. Biden. I like hundreds of other women are really upset by that. I also
think it was a let down from Hillary, giving in to Obama. My vote is now going to Sen. McCain. I think he is the most honest politician I have heard yet.

Senator Obama is in another state campaigning and his wife is there. Just because you did not see her on the stage does not mean she is not there. As I watched the earlier preparations, I saw her there getting ready for her speech later.

Get a grip.

As for all you Hillary supporters, she is currently in Denver speaking unity, you should take a lesson from her and support the country and not personal feelings. GROW UP ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be nice for CNN to let us watch the convention. All I've seen, an hour into the convention, is a variety of CNN's commentators, a very brief occasional view of the floor. Come on! We can even understand, if you let us see it! The comments by your "reporters" is becoming more than redundant.

Oldschool23   August 25th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

The McCain campaign is running a TV ad attacking Obama with statements that are literally true but paint an incomplete picture.

It says he "voted against funding our troops." He did – exactly once. Obama cast at least 10 votes for war-funding bills before voting against one last year, after Bush vetoed a version that contained a date for withdrawal from Iraq.

It says he "hasn't been to Iraq for years." He was headed there at the time the ad was released, however, and had been there in 2006.

It says he "never held a single hearing on Afghanistan." It was the full Senate Foreign Relations Committee, not Obama's subcommittee, that had the hearings on this global hot spot, and Obama attended one of those. Over the same time period, McCain himself attended none of the Afghanistan hearings held by the Armed Services Committee on which he serves.

True Leadership!!!

HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT

Joseph, Los Angeles California   August 25th, 2008 6:12 pm ET

Good Luck Dems. You have my vote.

Republican here… Not voting for McCain. Eight years of suffering was long enough. I don't care about the infighting, the pundits, the 24 hr news bonanza… I'm going to do the right thing and give the Dems a chance to have back the White House.

Melissa   August 25th, 2008 6:07 pm ET

I can't believe these so-called "PUMA's". Hillary supporters need to wake up to the fact that this country is a democratic one, and that a majority rules. Obama won fair and square. I can't believe the ignorance of the Hillary supporters threatening to vote for McCain, or not at all for that matter. As a woman, I felt a difference with gender as it relates to the workforce for the first time this year. I was making 10% less than a male in the same position, hired after me, with less experience. McCain does not support equal pay for equal work. Obama does. Obama earned all of his money by being smart, McCain was born priviledged, and then married into a goldmine.
People need to take the time to learn the facts and pay attention to the issues. Get over the anger and make an EDUCATED decision!!! Who is Hillary supporting? OBAMA!

United democrats   August 25th, 2008 6:07 pm ET

Don't let McCorrupt and the republican party fool you-
Barack may not have been in Washington long enough to be corrupted, but he is a breath of fresh air that genuinely WANTS to help the American people. Sometimes fresh faces give fresh approaches to setting the budget and health care system straight. Have faith and give him a chance.

McCain will say anything to get elected, but he is controlled by big money. One thing we all know for sure: McCain will talk but will get NOTHING done. This will keep things the same and will hurt all of us.

Oh and btw…if McCain gets into office, ROE vs. WADE will be overturned.

Maybe the Democratic Congress could do more if there was not a record number of bills filibustered by the Repubs this session. The Democratic Congress has been in office since 2006, we've been in a deficit for years before that and at war for both Bush terms with nothing to show for it.

I was a HUGE Hillary supporter, and I always will be. And as much as I would have loved to have had a woman in the white house, it just wasn't her time.

To all of my other Hillary suporters: Let's celebrate what Hillary stands for and help stand up for what she believes in! Neither McCain nor Obama will ever be a true replacement for Hillary, but Obama at least shares her values, has Hillary's drive, and is not another old white man.

I pray for the day I can watch a woman become president as I watch the returns with my daughters, but until then, let's all vote for the next best this time around and vote Obama into office! Who's with me??

I am so tired of these "Clinton Democrats". Don't call yourself a democrat, if you are going to vote for McCain. Stay at home, then watch the United States fall deeper into debt, watch the wealthier get their tax cuts while the VAST majority that would receive tax breaks under the Obama plan receive none under the McCain plan. Oh, and also watch as McCain selects a conservative supreme court justice and women find themselves seeing health coverage for Viagara and nont for birth control and unable to choose things like abortion. These angry Clinton supporters aren't Democrats, they're Clinton worshippers… This is about more than Hillary Clinton. Get over yourselves.

archiesteel   August 25th, 2008 5:53 pm ET

JM, Orlando: yeah, you'll make a difference, a difference for the worst. You'll have accomplished nothing, you'll have destroyed Clinton's future chance at the presidency (and disregarded her wishes), given the country back to the neocons who have manipulated you, and acted on your emotions instead of your brains. Nice going.

That is, unless you're really an Operation Chaos agent. In that case, I really hope you rot in Hell for perverting democracy. You are going against everything this country stands for out of blind partisanship.

Dameun Strange   August 25th, 2008 5:45 pm ET

If the Dems do not fully support Obama in this race, they run the risk of alienating the black vote which they have taken for granted for decades. I can guarantee that like myself, many African Americans will refuse to vote for this party. There are plenty of parties that respect our contributions and will benefit from our strong candidates that we can provide. Look at the Green Party…You think that 2000 was something, wait until 2012 if The Clinton's and there church of falsehood cost us this election.
