From

DENVER (CNN) – These days, one question hovers over every potential first lady: Does she have a political agenda? And is it any different from her husband’s?

America will be blessed to finally have this decent family in the White House.Just what we so desperatley need now.
God bless Obama/Biden

CitizenS   August 26th, 2008 1:13 am ET

Cindy McCain, what's your answer????

angel   August 26th, 2008 12:52 am ET

Michelle Obama 2012!!!

Jean   August 26th, 2008 12:50 am ET

She is qualified and is entitled to do what she wishes, this is America.

Joan Nagy   August 26th, 2008 12:50 am ET

This campaign has been going on for 19 months. I have been listening and reading for 19 months. It amazes me how over and over and over again CNN pundits insist the American people don't know Michelle and Barack Obama. They've been out there. Where has CNN been? Commenting instead of reporting, perhaps?

April Garlow   August 26th, 2008 12:31 am ET

Her agenda is to become first lady and reep all the rewards.

Katrina   August 26th, 2008 12:00 am ET

You media idiots think the American people are stupid. You use your on air appearances to try and fool us into thinking that your polls are accurate and speak for all of America. First of all. Have you old geezers not realized that many people under the age of 40 use their cell phones as their primary lines of communication. I have been noticing something very interesting the closer the election gets to November. CNN, MSNBC, and FOX are all trying to convince us that Obama is slipping, so therefore we should all give up and vote for McCain. Everywhere I go I see diverse groups of people who want change. I'm wondering did a memo go out to all of you stating " If Obama becomes the next president we won't be able to slant the news to fit our agenda anymore", so we better all help elect McCain. Not this time. WE ARE INTELLIGENT EVEN IF YOU PUPPETS ARE NOT.

Lisa   August 25th, 2008 11:52 pm ET

Michele Obama appeared to be a wife doing and saying the expected to get her husband in the White House. Nothing I observed or heard makes me think she deserves to be a first lady. No way! No Obama family in the White House. They will not have my vote. They scare me with their facade.

Jonah   August 25th, 2008 11:50 pm ET

What does Carville know? He was Hillary's advisor and Kerry's advisor. They didn't exactly win anything. Pretty much what ever he says..... do the opposite thing if you want to win.

Marrissa in Burlington, NC   August 25th, 2008 11:47 pm ET

i agree with "...let's enjoy this moment...". PLEASE WAKE UP AMERICA. even if obama isn't your candidate of choice, at least don't further the anti-american sentiment that the rest of the world feels. we all look stupid when the very few majority of us decides to ignore the facts and choose to believe the insane lies and rumors the fear-mongers project. WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!!

ICan the News Media Let's enjoy this moment without the negatives   August 25th, 2008 11:41 pm ET

People in America don't listen very well. oVER AND OVER MICHELE
has stated that she will head up program to aid children all over aMERICAN. She said that she knows how hard it for her to manage her children with all the support she have around her. Much less someone who is not as well posistion as her. So she is going to work on programms for mothers to help the children and America.

America listen and learn.. These people are putting it all out there but you are not listening. That is your choice to play dumb. I am tired of hearing the Words: We do not know much about Obama", people around the World are laughing at your guys. We know who the are we have been listening to them... We have also read his books. Read, and learn America, you are not looking good to the World around you.

We Need A Change!   August 25th, 2008 11:40 pm ET

Why does Bill Schneider feel a need to write these little blips? Why does he care if there is an "agenda"? Did he care about HRC's agenda when her husband was in office?

Carlos   August 25th, 2008 11:38 pm ET

Absolutely not, unless you are a Clinton

beth bump   August 25th, 2008 11:37 pm ET

Farrell, Houston, Tx   August 25th, 2008 11:35 pm ET

Of course Michelle has an agenda, so do I, so do millions of Americans. We all want a better future for our children and grandchildren because right now it's bleak.

Miriam Hyde   August 25th, 2008 11:34 pm ET

If Michelle has her own political agenda, it will be one that America needs. If that includes her being a political leader in the future, even better.

And looking ahead, her daughters will have even better chances to continue to make America greater.

ALLAN USA   August 25th, 2008 11:32 pm ET

NO HRC-- NO OBAMA .Vote for McCain and HRC in 2012.

Sherry, Atlanta   August 25th, 2008 11:28 pm ET

AND THE ANSWER IS NO. . .MICHELLE HAS NO POLITICAL AGENDA. SHE'S THE MOTHER OF TWO, AND THE WIFE OF AMERICA'S NEXT PRESIDENT!

CASE CLOSE. . . .. . . . ..

OBAMA/BIDEN '08-'12

John   August 25th, 2008 11:23 pm ET

She's simply pandering to the hopeless state of the world. She knows that's what people want to hear, but where is the plan for fixing them. She's nothing more than another politician. Like Gorbachev said, every politician promises to build a bridge where no river exists.

Florida Daryl   August 25th, 2008 11:21 pm ET

Michelle did so well...really!

You can't help but agree with the vigor she has about America-– I remembered America tonight. America is coming back with a bigger, bolder vision.

Oh... you just don't know what it feels like to believe in the greatness of America again. We are great in heritage, but haven't been living up to our name.

Michelle's speech shows me why I love AMERICA!!!!!!!

Change is coming, change is coming!!!
We (people) are the world, and the only way this world WILL change is if we do. No man, no woman, nobody but everyone.

So America, DO NOT reject OUR CHANCE for change.... its really here!

Don't turn on America's values and future this time! I'm voting for Obama because we don't need another aggressive & war obsessed president.

Restore America to what it deserves to be.

Obama/Biden 08

Schellie   August 25th, 2008 11:19 pm ET

Are YOU kidding me!!!! Who cares? Get a sense of humor and focus on what is truly important for America's future.

Former Independent   August 25th, 2008 11:13 pm ET

Hope, hope hope hope hope hope.

Not a single mention of ANYTHING that BO will actually do.

USELESS.

LeEura   August 25th, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Did you listen to anything she said..? Yes she has an Agenda, An Agenda to give our children a chance in life, a chance to have better education that we don't have for the children of the United States of America.

john williams san diego, ca.   August 25th, 2008 11:05 pm ET

i now believe that both Obamas are the best speech readers ever...other than that they are are very elitist and over their pay grade.

Abt   August 25th, 2008 11:05 pm ET

Why I am no longer voting democratic....

MARILYN TORONTO   August 25th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

WHAT POLITICAL AGENDA? ONLY A DREAM THAT ANY MOTHER HAS FOR HER CHILDREN.

Sam   August 25th, 2008 11:02 pm ET

What is worng with CNN these days ... acting as FOX news Satelliate cable. Guys you too much now .... can you stop it. You are not making any sense now!

Cynthia   August 25th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

Anybody with doubts about Michelle Obama and what she stands for along with her husband got there answer tonight. She was open and honest and on point in everything she said.

Marcel - Atlanta, GA   August 25th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

It's interesting that these same questions were never asked of Barbara or Laura Bush.

gary   August 25th, 2008 10:56 pm ET

SHE HAS A SMOOTH SPEECH LIKE HER HUSBAND. THEY ONLY KNOW THE TALK ,NOT THE WALK. THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO MAKE THE WHITEHOUSE. THIS ELECTION IS A BIG JOKE. YOU WONT SEE MCCAINS CONVENTION SO BUILD UP BY THE MEDIA LIKE OBAMA'S. THIS IS BEEN A BIAS RACE FROM THE BEGINING. THATS WHY THE BEST CANIDATE GOT SWIFTBOATED OUT.(HRC). OBAMA IS JUST A BIG MEDIA CLOWN AND FLIP FLOPPER. ATLEAST MCCAIN IS STRAIGHT FOWARD. HE DOSN;T KEEP ALL BUSHES ISSUES EITHER. YOU O.B. SUPPORTERS JUST WANT TO THINK THAT. AMERICA DESERVES WHAT THEY ASK FOR.

J. Sinchi   August 25th, 2008 10:55 pm ET

Why is she pretending to cry... that was pretty fake. It seemed like she was trying to cry for the longest until it finally came out.

eileen   August 25th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

I do not understand the Dem's message. Michelle speaks about how great America is and how many opportunities we have in this great nation and then she turns around a sentence later and says that we need to change it. Which one does she believe? What is this about the "world as it should be?" I think it's pretty good. I hope Obama is never elected president of the US and I hope this ruins his name and political career!

rubie   August 25th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

I want to hear McCain's wife speak! If Michelle Obama has to present her family background for us to accept them as true Americans, it is only fair the Cindy McCain explain her background so that we may understand the reason for her drug addiction. If the drug addiction is explained, we can understand how that addiction could be overlooked in a first lady of the United States of America.

CNN loves McCain   August 25th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

Michelle Obama is graceful and intelligent...and would be an amazing first lady.

Cindy McCain is vacant and the epitome of what is wrong and unnatural about female imagery in the United States.

Tia   August 25th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

I feel like I'm at a wedding reception watching bride and groom speeches.......where is the political message?

Jim Warner   August 25th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

I can't stand Michelle Obama. Her speech was so contrived, so fake, so planned. If she is speaking from her heart, why the teleprompter?

Jack   August 25th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

Whats wrong with him shouting out a pool of potential voters? Thats just like shouting out you're home state. Thats where he lives, works, pays taxes, VOTES. As incredulous you may be, Beavers (at least the ones in Corvallis) vote too.

Lissa from Montreal   August 25th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

She seems to have a moral agenda, one that she shares with her husband; time will tell as to her political aspirations but she certainly has what it takes!

Evan Crum   August 25th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

Who cares if he said " Go Beavers"? Does it really matter? There baseketball team isn't that good anyway. She is making a great speech, and I agree with u Brooklyn wonder what Cindy will say besides " I love my husband".

Chris in Atlanta   August 25th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

I think Michelle is doing an AWESOME job. I would be proud to have her represent our country the next 4 (hopefully 8) years as the first lady.

Anthony   August 25th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

Seriously CNN?
This is the only spin you can put on a really positive convention?
Every speaker is pushing a positive message of progress and change, and this is the CNN take? Are you kidding me? I truly dont understand how not only the average American citizen, but the majority of its mainstream media outlets actually WANT to keep this nation on the decline. And for what? Ratings, bloated blog response counts?
So So SAD...

Bob   August 25th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

Looking at the previous posts...

Beavers are cool...

Better world for the children...She's drank the Kool-aid

Cindy McCain?......I don't think she needs help from John....she's doin more than OK

Dan J   August 25th, 2008 10:50 pm ET

Michelle Obama's two agendas: She is a patriot, and she wants the PUMAS.

Obama is coming off as trying to be emotional. Her voice has this sort-of "I'm trying to be soft and emotional" warble, and its not working for me. But I like her mother and brother.

BrooklynDodger   August 25th, 2008 10:49 pm ET

So the "go Beavers" is the new fist bump since there are no credible criticisms that can be made? Give me a break.

Janice Hough   August 25th, 2008 10:49 pm ET

She is a beautiful, smart woman loves her country and she loves her kids. It speaks well of Obama that he convinced her to marry him.

And nice timing on the props for Hillary Clinton!

CC, VA   August 25th, 2008 10:45 pm ET

I don't know about her political agenda, but how about the fact that her brother managed to give a "Go Beavers" shout-out from the podium of the DNC? Are you kidding me?

Linda31   August 25th, 2008 10:44 pm ET

An Agenda? Only to make a better world for her children and the children of this country.

BrooklynDodger   August 25th, 2008 10:44 pm ET

This question is most rightly leveled at Cindy McCain, whose family has stood to gain the most from her husband's ascendancy over the years. Wonder if the MSM will cover this.
