Hillary and Chelsea Clinton toured the convention stage Tuesday (AP Photo)

DENVER (CNN) – Hillary Clinton toured the stage at the Pepsi Center in advance of her much anticipated speech later Tuesday evening, in which she faces the difficult task of convincing her most committed supporters to back Barack Obama's candidacy.

After some podium adjustments, Clinton gazed out across the venue saying, "you bet" when a reporter asked if she was excited about tonight.

Before Clinton took the stage, her daughter Chelsea came out holding a microphone and stood behind the podium quietly taking cues from production staff. "That podium won't be there," a staffer told her.

"Hello everyone! Good morning or good afternoon," Chelsea said, getting a feel for the stage. Clinton staffers have not officially confirmed Chelsea will introduce her mother tonight, but when the New York senator emerged, they shared a bear hug and practiced waving to the crowd.

The former Democratic presidential candidate also coached her daughter on her voice level as she expressed surprise at how her voice carried across the room. "Oh, that's sensitive ... Chelsea, the mic is sensitive," Clinton said.

Before departing, Clinton surveyed the mass of media assembled below her.

"See you all tonight," she said.

I thought the Obama's were not going to prostitute their children for the campaign? What happened? That was so pathetically contrived as to be nauseating.

I guess now McCain will have to have his sons Jimmy (in Iraq), Jack (at the US Naval Academy), and Doug (former US Navy Pilot) on the big screen at his convention...

BigDogg   August 26th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

PUMA's revolt tonight...
NO OBAMA...ever!!!

V   August 26th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Seriously CNN, is that the best picture you could find??

BJ   August 26th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

They going to relegate the Clinton delegates to their hotel rooms for the roll call votes!!!

WHAT does that tell you? Obama is scared that he will get outvoted by Clinton delegates!!!

What a farce!!!

Hillary or McCain '08

Frank   August 26th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I am hoping that she will do the right thing, but that the right thing is not pulling out and leaving all of her supporters stranded and forced to vote for this NOBAMA with no experience!!! If she is at all patrioric to her country, and if she puts her country before her party, which actually don't deserve to have her or her husband, she will announce her candidacy as an independent tonight! And NOBAMA can have all the delagates he wants; many will not vote for him anyways!!!

akaDoug   August 26th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I for one am proud that Democrats had two great candidates! Both are far superior to McCain. While I caucused for Hillary (in Washington) I am a proud supporter of Obama!

CNN will never post this...because they don't want us to see any sign of unity! But true Democrats and Independents are united to defeat a third Bush term! The PUMA fakes can go vote for McCain because that is what they'd be doing even if Hillary were the nominee!

PUMA=Rush Ditto Heads

Where's the drama in unity?!?!

sick of the tantrums   August 26th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

It is not clear to me exactly what the self-pitying PUMA people are angry about. I wonder if any of them could actually explain. Probably not, because Hillary Clinton lost a fair contest on her own lack of merit.

I'm a little surprised at all the publicity the whining wackos of PUMA have gotten. There aren't enough of them to rate all the attention.

Hey wasn't there supposed to be a huge PUMA protest, as reported in the Wall Street Journal on Aug. 12? Guess they realize that pouting and stomping your feet is not going to do anybody, especially Hillary, any good.

ChicagoJosh   August 26th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

I"m impressed with that picture. Hillary appears to be making normal physical contact for non political reasons. Maybe she does have a soul.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   August 26th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

So is Hillary still wearing one of those frumpy pants suits left over from the 70s? What a hag!

Hillary looks nice (don't you hate it when all one can say is how a woman looks?) anyway, she does.
Rally round.Sen C.

All this PUMA watching is just guaranteeing I will never vote for HRC no matter how many times she runs. You want to make threats and say how you will vote McCain...keep going.

Roxy, New York   August 26th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

I love seeing these mommies and their daughters on stage. Yesterday it was Michelle and the girls. Today it's Hillary and Chelsea. Looking lovely as usual. :-)

johnny   August 26th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

I agree with you Al – NYC. I wished it was Hillary – 08 but McCain – 08 and Hillary – 2012 is fine too

JF   August 26th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

I can't believe that that Obma man has so many people fooled... WAKE UP !! You are following a parked car... With all this attention, that guy is in Wonderland right now!!!! He would wonder around the White House in a dream while the country goes to hell in a hand basket.

YES we ALL want change, but the Democrats just wants to hand the most powerful country in the world over to some young guy with a DREAM !!!

The followers of the new Hollywood star (Obama) are FOOLS! !
As a regestered Democrat, I am voting for John McCain because he has the experience to step into the presidential shoes without ON THE JOB TRAINING. McCain has enough intellegence to know NOT to run the country like Bush did. He's NOT stupid! ! Believe it or not, he wants change too..

Another thing, I don't care what that wife of Obama was spouting last night. We are not voting for the (family)- but the best man who can step in and protect this country as well as work towards making the USA a better place to live.

GO McCAIN ! ! ! ! !

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE AGENTS FROM HELL   August 26th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

Alright Hillary you get out there tonight and do the right thing, get this mess settled once and for all! You need to let your supporters know just how this mess will affect you in the long run then maybe they will at least stop all of this whining about McSame and choose Obama, if not then at least STOP WHINING AND GO RIGHT AHEAD AND VOTE MCSAME, JUST STOP WHINING AND THREATENING TO DO SO!

LTofWA   August 26th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

I encourage everyone to watch C-SPAN instead of CNN and make up your own minds.

John Stewart was right – a bunch of talking heads spewing biased opinion is not news.

CNN, you've lost me.

richard   August 26th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

Do not be fooled Hillary supporters. Obama camp is telling people all over the net that it is fine if you want Hillary write her in. They are discouraging you from voting for McCain. If you want to send a message to Obama and the DNC voting for McCain is the only way. PUMA.

Shaun   August 26th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

You Clinton supporters have nothing better to do than bash Obama you are definitely the problem. I don't think that Obama supporters would be as disrespectable about the situation as some of you have been. This is why women can't be president you have to much pent up frustration & can't control your emotions. Just get with it or don't Obama will still win and for those who are complaining about the race card you are the same ones who use the sexist card. Black man running America really scares you all & thats another problem when you don't realize they have the same hopes & dreams as all of america get over yourselves & if you vote Republican then that shows how ignorant you are in the first place cause McCain white black blue or purple is not giving a sh@t about your best interest.

Jan Illinois   August 26th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

Good Luck Lady, You've been stepped on and over , lied to, and cheated by a lot of people you just knew you could trust. This has happened to a lot of us women. Congratulations lady and Thanks for opening up all the doors, for the daughters of the WOMEN who refused to vote for you. They will appreciate you in History.

Keep writing us off- the Obama supporters need us- and won't get us.
Hillary will do her part- but we won't.

Blame your guy for being such a divider. He had the chance to heal us. He chose not to.

janet   August 26th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Hillary don't let then count you out let all the votes be counted tonight we need you running our country not Obama,

brett   August 26th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

I'm wondering how many of you actually look at the issues.

How can ANY of you vote for McCain now that Clinton is not on the ballot? That's INSANITY.

Look at Clinton and Obama like comparing DNA. Clinton and Obama share like 98% DNA...

..while John McCain only shares like 35% of like-DNA.

Don't be stupid - If you were going to vote for Hillary , Vote for Obama.

David from Ohio   August 26th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

Hillary in 2016 maybe, but not in 2012. That's when Obama will be elected to his second term as President. As for the PUMA's, you do understand that if McCain wins, not only we he step all the things Democrats hold dear, but there is a real possiblity that he might not serve out a second term and Mitt Romney could become President. That's aside from the fact that Obama's supporters will hold Hillary and her supporters responsible for Obama's loss and not particularly care who wins the 2012 election. Great strategy to get Hillary in the White House. Maybe there will be a new set of PUMA's in 2012....

becca   August 26th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

Frustration in Florida   August 26th, 2008 4:03 pm ET

Hillary:
If you want unity you must work for real change within the DNC starting with removing Dr. Dean and changing primary rules: no caucuses, not punishing of states that have the right to vote whenever they want because we do not agree that some states should have a better opportunity to decide who should be the nominee.

For the party to reform that means the Democratic leadership does not impose his candidates using super delegates. WE want a real democratic party and Obama does not represent that. I am grossly disgusted with the "DEMOCRATIC PARTY" as it stands today and I hope we can stop this undemocratic shenanigans.

These and many other reasons is why I am voting republican this year and It has nothing to do with Hillary or Obama, the color of his skin or how inept he is.

What will Hillary say tonight to convince me to vote for an unknown,(BLACK) inexperienced, unqualified (BLACK) and unprincipled (BLACK) neophyte who sleazed off (BLACK) with a nomination that he did not earn (BLACK) and does not deserve?(BLACK)

WHAT??? WHAT??????????

So who are you people? Unprincipled neophyte? He sleazed off? Didn't earn or deserve it? DESERVE? (Wait, didn't he get hte most votes???)

How in the world do you justify such comments? To bad the clinically insane have the same right to vote as the rest of us! I call on all people with a high school education, those who have actually read a book with more than 50 pages to get out and vote...cause these nuts actually do vote!

White, female supporter of Obama   August 26th, 2008 4:03 pm ET

What gives you the right to grade Michelle Obama's speech? Sanchez's petty comments re Michelle's dress typifies the useless, distracting and disrespectful treatment CNN has chosen to give participants in this convention. No wonder the blogs are burning up about the pathetic coverage and pompous talking heads droning on for hours about nothing substantial and trying to raise their own self importance by criticizing others who are putting themselves out there to improve their country.

Let's be fair. Why not a chance for viewers to rate CNN's coverage of the convention thus far?

Cory, Nations Capitol   August 26th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

Hillary in 2012 is not going to happen with you guys/gals acting like this. I think you guys/gals need to at least act smarter. If you remove the new base of democrats along with minorities there is absolutely no possible way she could ever get re-elected. Please stop using your love of Hillary as a basis of hating obama for it was and never has been either candidates intention. if you have an issue with the supporters of a candidate, express that issue where it is just do. But negating either candidate or former candidate is simply stupid and childish.

I'm so sick of all this, it's digusting. How any democrat or anyone else for that matter could support McCain is so beyond me I can't believe it. Isn't this supposed to be about our country, our future, our place in the world. We've destroyed our relationships with every middle eastern country, our economy isn't waivering anymore, it's tanking, our beautiful earth is at it's tipping point and for all of this you would rather elect someone other than your parties nominee because you're angry your candidate didn't win. How sad, how petty, how utterly enlightening, this kind of selfishness is how we got to this point to begin with.

The Clinton News Network is still focusing on the loser in the primary. Ms. Obama gave an historical speech last night and the only stories you have on the ticker are ones that try to slight her husbands affections for her...

I Thank God that Hillary was able to achieve the 17 million or so votes that she did. She ran a made for TV race and there is no way that she did anything other than what was predicted of the when it comes to politics, which ironic is why they lost...the Obama camp planned and knew that by the time they realized that they were in a real fight it would be to late.

I'm begging CNN if for no other reason than simple respect give Michelle her just due. I know you are all Clintons all the time, but you must know that history was made last night. Michelle is the 21st century woman. And yes I live in Peoria...and she plays and has been playing here for a while...you guys just didn't figure it out. until it was shoved in your face.

Unlike the Clintons she and her husband are smart enough to know that you don't have to run it like its a Broadway show.

WHY CLINTON LOST OUT
Hillary Clinton blew it–and has no one to blame but herself. She started the Primary Campaign with a sense of entitlement, mismanaged her budget and campaign, used all the wrong people and words, and attacked Obama so viciously that in the end Obama could not feel he can trust her or work with her as a team player. Without those vicious attacks, she would have been tapped as a running mate! The Clintons' achilles heel is their big ego and selfishness. And they have bad operators like James Caville who today looks unhappy, acts unhappy and talks nothing positive! This man is an opportunist whose wife published a book intended to damage Obama. He did nothing about it! He has never criticised the book in question–a propaganda diatribe written by an extreme right wing hatemonger. The thing about Carville is that he sits on both sides of the fence: If Democrats win, he claims to be a part of them; if they lose, he benefits through his wife on the Republican side. In the meantime, while many former Clinton supporters are now clearly doing their best for Obama, Caville keeps whining on the sideline–spreading rumors about division, the dissatisfaction of the Clintons and how they should have been treated better. Terry Mcaulliffe, the former DNC Chairman and Clinton supporter, has been playing a more positive role and clearly affirmative in his support for Obama. The attitude of the Clintons and their supporters like Caville to Obama and Obamarites is simply this: we will re-write history on our own terms or create chaos at the Convention. They want to muscle their way into things and places that are Obama's to control, and nothing short of having their way will make them happy. This, to me smarks of racism by code–because they did not dare to do this when John Kerry and Al Gore were the Democratic Party’s nominees. This blackmail will go down in history as a discrafeful conduct by a loser who, in reality tried to destroy the Democratic Party itself during her Primary contest using all sorts of nefarious and dark tactics that Sen. McCain now uses with glee, deploying in fact Hillary Clinton’s playbook and words against Obama. Right to this moment, the Clintons have continued to make it about themselves and not Obama –and the big picture, for them, counts little in their selfish political strategy.

The only two parts of the convention I will watch and Hillary and Bill.

There is a problem within the party and if BO is the presumptive leader of the party with Pelosi and Reid, then it falls on THEM to unite everyone. Why does Hillary?

In the end, though, people will believe and feel what they want to, AND THAT's OKAY.

For me, I've never bought into Obama because I think he's the same old and to me, you can't say you're a change candidate and make that your big slogan and then be the same old piece of slice bread. Besides, there are things in his career that don't sit right with me. And, that's all that matters; he's not the person for me.

I encourage everyone who follows Hillary to vote your conscience. If you still think she's the better candidate, WRITE HER IN! Most states are allowing that. I think that's the best example to the DNC.

Casey - Missouri   August 26th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

THANK YOU SEN. CLINTON for standing up and saying "I'm Hillary Clinton and I do NOT endorse that message"

And thank you for all your efforts supporting Senator Obama and the Democratic Party. With your great efforts and all of us Americans standing together and calling for change, we can take back this country and restore the American Dream.

Here is the reality.

Weather your for Hillary or for Obama we do need to get together. This is not about either of the two, it's about AMERICA! McShame stands against everything Hillary or Obama believe in.

What has happened should be talked about BUT if you supported Hillary in the past and vote McShame you are spitting in her face. YOU are helping to destroy everything she has worked for.

We also have to look to the future.
EVERY TIME an Obama supporter rips down Hillary it divides us.
EVERY TIME a Hillary supporter rips down Obama it divides us.

Was there sexism? YES Was there racism? YES

We do need to talk about that, BUT not at the cost of electing MCSHAME!

If Obama needs Hillary supporters to win, then Hillary needs OBAMA supporters to win in the future. this is just a FACT!

Now do you think I as an Obama supporter would ever vote for Hillary if
McShame wins because of Hillary supporters???

We have a much grater issue to deal with and it's name is
John McCain!

Hillary supporters keep saying that if Hillary would have won. Isn't it obvious, she didn't! The nomination wasn't stolen from her, she just lost. I think that Hillary could be a powerful woman, but she tends to be negative. Either by her campaign or by her own initiative. I believe that she would have a tremendous impact in the Obama administration: Health Care Czar, Sec/State, etc... But because she is dead set of 2012, she can't see her victory for seeing her own ambitions.
As far as her "anger" supporters, don't they know that having McCain as president will keep us in the same ecomomic turmoil for 4 more years. Hillary will go back to her million dollar mansion, and we will endure the continued hardship that is gripping us right now. Don't count on 2012, another star could appear in the Democratic party. Then what!?

Greg MacKenzie   August 26th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

I'll comment here b/c the comment section has been closed for the "Clinton's to make a compelling case for Obama" article.

Listen now and listen for good – Clinton supports "For McCain" will go down in modern history as the most asinine group of idiots America has ever known. You can dislike Obama, that's fine. However, voting for McCain is a slap in the face to Hillary and all she stands for. With Obama, you have a President who will give Hillary his ear. Not to mention the fact that on the policy front, the differences are small.

Before you go and do something radicle like vote Replublican when you are a staunch Hillary supporter and democrat, think about this: Your children will look back at you as a petty moron who jeopordized America's future to "get back at those who supported Obama". Come on already, this is ridiculous. If you do this, you clearly should lose your constitutional right to vote. It is completely unethical to revenge vote, it simply is not the right thing to do. Your right to vote is the right to cast your voice in support of someone who will take the country in the direction you would like it to go. Clearly, McCain will take the country in the opposite direction that Hillary would have. So, how can you, as a Hillary supporter, vote McCain? By voting Obama, you atleast keep alive the chance for universal health care, an end to the war, etc. that Hillary vehemently campaigned for.

The notion is just ridiculous. Grow up, and take seriously the responsibility you have to the rest of the world. I'm Canadian, and this election means a lot to me, my country, and those around the word. I'd give anything to have the right to vote in this election. And if I could, I certainly would not piss it away against every fibre of logic in my being.

John in Ohio   August 26th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

I've got a good feeling about it. I've got a good feeling about the rest of this convention and about the elections in November. As somebody who has wanted Obama to be president since 2004 when I elected him as my Senator, I think the party is coming together now and we're on the right track. I think the much-hyped controversy and division in the Democrat Party is just that, hype. The real Democrats among Hillary supporters, those who aren't Republicans posing as "lifelong Democrats" (remember that talk is cheap on the internet and people can pose as anybody), are working together with the Obama supporters, and the Edwards supporters, and the Biden supporters, to get a Democrat back in the White House and to turn the country around.

We know that Clinton and Obama have the same political positions.

We know that Obama will work to achieve Hillary's goals, we know that the true Democrat Party will come out of this convention united and strong.

We know that the PUMA meeting in Denver called "The Audacity of Democracy" only had 60 attendees. When I was at the Obama primary campaign kickoff here in Columbus Ohio, we had 4 times that much, at least. "PUMA" is a myth.

We know that Republicans and Independents with a desire to see our country grow and improve, people who won't let themselves be manipulated by fear and divisive politics, are flocking to Obama.

We know that the Republican Party is fractured and divided, in ways plain and easy to see, even if the MSM won't report on it. There is a reason that McCain doesn't run any ads about him and about his plans, except to say "Noun Verb POW" or "Noun Verb Fear".

We know Obama is going to win in November.

2012 isn't here. It's 2008. Why somebody would burn 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 for no good reason is beyond me. Haven't we suffered enough from 2000-2008?

schooled   August 26th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

I do not normally submit comments on blogs. Today, I read a comment which suggested that Clinton supporters who do not come around to the Obama team may find that if Hillary runs for president in the future, she may find their absent votes.

I ask that everyone take a moment to realize these voters have a right to make their own decision on who they prefer to be the next President of the United States. It is not about "not supporting Obama". Clinton supporters in the Primary are indeed backing Mr. Obama. Yes, there may be a few that have had a hard time letting go. However, you must remember the 1990's were among the best years economic growth, our deficit was then a surplus, more opportunity for every American. The tax breaks that George Bush put in place were not on the table. These years were good. We must not treat the Clinton presidency as irrelevant. WE should remember our past so that we can move forward again with Obama. Please do not blame your fellow democrats with not getting on board. Mr. Obama has to bring the ones that have doubt. Hillary Clinton is not responsible for this. She has stated in speeches since the primary ended that she is giving her support for OUR candidate because she believes in our country and we cannot afford a McCain presidency.

My prayers are with Hillary, Bill and Chelsea this week!

Hillary will say what she has to say plus much that she wants to say, and you will be free to fill in between the lines!

It is too late for Hillary to help the arrogant novice who threw her under the bus!

Obama's arrogance and belief in his own infallibility have undermined his party and his future! Barack, the user, will lose!

Bill Clinton tried Obama's tax plan in his first few years, and it failed miserably. Then he got smart!

The democrats blew it big time this election!

And, this former democrat will vote for McCain 08! Country comes before party and John McCain is a moderate in touch with mainstream America!

Man, you are densely stupid now as the first time you started spewing this bullsh–. THIS IDIOT is part of the reason Hillary still has a debt. Instead of going to her site and donating to her debt and then kindly encouraging Obama supporters to help her, he comes in here and immediately starts up being a dam idiot and acting like a Republican. The only one that blows anything is you and the PUMA idiots that come in here to start up against Obama. You want Hillary to EVER get elected? You better wise the hell up and stop the brainless hating dumbfn-k!

Obamasupporters/Hillary Supporters – unite!!!

Anyone but another republican that will for sure bring down America as we know it . 8 years has been bad enough why must we fight eachother to get another 4 more.

Democrats unite- saved ex-republicans join us – independents depend on Barack!

NJ DEM   August 26th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

I've always loved the Clintons and will continue to do so. The Democrats need to take over the White House and we can only do that by unifying the Party. If you're a Democrat, then you should remain a Democrat and vote Democrat. If you're a flipflopper, then vote Republican...better yet, don't vote at all. You might confuse yourself at the voting booth......

I don't know about you but I can't deal with another 4 years of Republicans.

I look forward to Hillary's speech tonight and Bill's tomorrow. I'm confident they will echo the sentiments of Michelle and Ted Kennedy. The two of them were outstanding last night. Not a dry eye at the convention during and after their speeches.

Some of the Obamaites are just so naiive. During the primaries, Clinton and Obama were sorta close on some issues but since Obama really started the general election campaign – and with his NUMEROUS flip-flops – Clinton and Obama are not close on many issues..FISA – campaign financing, etc. Four years of McCain with a majority Senate and House will keep McCain policies at a dull roar. Then Clinton – who is should have been this time but for the cheating and reckless DNC – the popular vote winner..........can run and will win in 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama is behind in the polls for a very good reason – who he is, that his words cannot be trusted........who he is, pals with Trinity et al......who he is, which is not good for America! No one wants a bully!

No to Obama........Country first, Party second.........Vote McCain!

They were all competing for God's sake. If we didn't have that in the primaries, they would be no purpose for intent to WIN. no different

said months ago running against each other.

For all who are upset Hillary was not chosen for VP:

Please keep in mind that there are other positions in a administration than just vice president. I'm sure that one of the reasons that Obama did not choose her for VP is because he very likely has a cabinet position in mind for her. Now that John Edwards may be out of the running, my guess would be attorney general. Secretary of State would be another choice, although slightly off the beaten path.

Obama knows how to make good choices, and I'm sure she is in his thoughts as to who would be the cream of the crop in his administration. I don't like Hillary or her tactics, but even I have to admit that she is an intelligent woman with good credentials. Obama will not for one second let them go to waste.

So put your anger and bitterness aside, and let's get Obama/Biden elected so Hillary can move out of the Senate an on to much bigger, better things.....

Biden did nothing for the Democratic Ticket, in fact Polls show Obama is now 2 points behind McCain! I am a Democrat and I will Not Vote for Obama. I feel we need expereance in this Election with all the troubles’ in the World. I Voted for Clinton because I knew she has what it takes to take on the Tough Issues’. She has the Expereance to take the Office of President of The United States. I feel Sorry for at this time, she has been placed in a awkward position to push her Supporters into excepting Obama as the Nominee. It is not her fault that Obama has Failed in Proving to all Democrats that he has what it take to be President! Obama said he wasn’t ready in 2004, Biden said he wasn’t ready just a short time ago. It was after Ophra Show & Oprah’s SC Rally that Obama was taken serious. Obama Staff called it the “Oprah Bump”. And now he is behind and wants Clinton to beg her Supporters to Support him. It’s not going to happen! Not now, not Tonight after Hillary Speech. Clinton Supporters are Very Upset over Obamas actions and Conduct during this Election. Not Vetting her and Lying to Supporters by saying She was on his Short List! Obama Staff Poked Fun at Clinton for thinking She would have the Nomination back on Super Tuesday. Well Obama shouldn’t have counted his Chickens before they all Hatched. I for one like Millions of other Clinton Supporters will be going for McCain due to Expereance. Kevin, FL   August 26th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

It's funny how so many Clinton supporters chime in here about Obama supporters leaving negative comments. I bet if you add them up, the majority of the Pro-Obama people here (and across the internet) are being friendly toward Hillary, and are only critical of the PUMAs who would rather elect the polar opposite of Hillary (McCain), than someone with nearly identical views.

Hillary is being a leader in her attempt to rally the Democratic party together. She's no doubt ashamed of those of you that seek to destroy our chances of life out from under the Republican regime. You've completely lost perspective of what's important right now. You're left with nothing but bitterness and hate in your hearts. Please join her in looking to the future with hope, rather than anger.

Way to much anger among the Hillarites. I don't think either senator is/would do more than any other politician to promote real change (look at their current voting records). In a perfect world I would have rather seen Kucinich, but as we all know each time around we get to pick (and probably not choose) one of the two on the menu. McCain or Obama, I mean c'mon, unless you are very wealthy the choice should be clear. (These two Dems barely had anything but "character" to debate anyway). Get over the sex/race bologna.

ever speak. Really. And Bill, don't flub it up. WE MUST UNITE.
POLITICAL PUNS will be acceptable for tonight . Nor would any
play on sympathy to your voters. NONE. NOT TONIGHT. People
are watching with great intent.

If Obama looses, Hillary will NEVER be President

She'll get all the blame...GUARANTEED!

Wendy Contos   August 26th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I too plan to write Hillary in for president in November.

Mrs. McInostoch   August 26th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Thank you Senator Clinton for doing everything to unite your party. You have stated many times, "The country cannot have four more years of Bush's policies".

Obama/Biden All The Way '08   August 26th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Looking forward to the speech. Hillary realizes the state this country is in and how we can't afford 4 more years of failed policies. I know me and my family are hurting. Please vote on the issues. Vote with you head, not out of spite. Too much is riding on this election. Hillary and Obama had the same position on almost every issue. Anyone who could just "switch" obviously is letting emotion get the best of them.

Terry   August 26th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

I really really feel for Clinton. She has to convince people to vote for a candidate that is half as qualified as she is....and in front of the people that lynched her (DNC). Can I just say I know who will be getting the last laugh? How sweet it is.

Remember, Kerry had 89% of dems behind him. Barack has 80%. And we all know what happened to Kerry.

MCCAIN 08 HILLARY 12

Don't really care for Hillary anymore after her behavior during the primary, but I respect her. If Obama would have lost, she would have still gotten my vote in the general.

Cyrus K.   August 26th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Senator Clinton, we sincerely thank you for your gracious support.

We, the Obama supporters, look forward to your continued support and hope that you would play a key role if Sen. Obama is elected.

With you, we would also like to welcome your supporters. We say to them that regardless of our differences, we are all democrats and we need to elect a democratic President and a Democratic Congress. So, we are waiting for you to join us in this movement. Together we can show this country that our democratic principles, the visions of Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton, can take this country to a new direction.

Theresa - Minneapolis   August 26th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I have supported Obama since January. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

Hillary looks amazing!

I hope she has a great speech tonight and thta she does the RIGHT thing. She can make a tremendous impact on the direction her followers go.

McCain is NOWHERE near what your preferred leader is. He's not anywhere near the same league and Hillary. And if you all remember it was the fact that the platforms were so similar that caused the primary season to be about stupid stuff.

John in Ohio   August 26th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

"Hateful comments by the Obama camp about Clinton starting in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…"

Not getting any from me. I know Clinton wants Obama to win, and Clinton's true supporters want Obama to win, no matter what the PUMA and Operation Chaos Republicans say.

thank you Hillary for being a true democrat ! We love you !

democrat 08 !

John in Ohio   August 26th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

John McCain 08   August 26th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

Go Hillary 2012 & 2016!

Go Chelsea 2020 & 2024!

joey   August 26th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

I hope Hillary gives Barack the praise he rightfully deserves. The democrats need to be in the white house and Hillary needs to get her supporters behind Barack. The nation needs Barack and in order to get Barack in the white house, we must unite as a party! We must realize that we have the same goals and hopes and common ground and that the candidate itself is not what is important, but the party behind it.

OBAMA 08/12

That would be wonderful, just 4 more years of republican rule, then 16 years of Clinton. The last Clinton did wonders for America in 8 years, imagine what 16 years would do!

Hillary, Bill, Barack and Michelle, fighting for change   August 26th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

I think Hillary will do a great job- Chelsea will have a tough act to follow though after Sasha captivated the crowd last night!

aware   August 26th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

My prayers are with Hillary, Bill and Chelsea this week!

Hillary will say what she has to say plus much that she wants to say, and you will be free to fill in between the lines! :)

The democrats blew it big time this election! :(

And, this former democrat will vote for McCain 08! :) Country comes before party and John McCain is a moderate in touch with mainstream America! :)

Abby   August 26th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Al – NYC , if Hill doesn’t help pull it through for the Obama thereby getting the forgiveness of the base, there is no way she will win in the future. I’m rooting for her. I’m rooting for our county. 16 years and beyond of peace and prosperity.

Democrats need to grow up.

John McCain will win not one, but TWO terms if the Democrats don't get their act together.

Obama is looking more and more like a lightweight. It is now Hillary's job to unite the party. Seems like that should be Obama's job. He talks a good game but never seems to do anything himself. It's always someone else who's supposed to be doing something for him. And it's someone else's fault when things go south for him. When is Barack going to actually do something besides talk? When will he say "that is my responsibility" instead of sitting back and expecting Hillary to deliver 18 million votes to him. I'd like to see Obama do something besides look pretty for a change. That would be a Change I Could Believe In. But I'm starting to think I won't be seeing that.

baby mama   August 26th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

ladies and gentleman....our 2012 nominee........Hillary

mijnos   August 26th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Why does everyone refer to Barack as African-American. He is not African-American! He hasn't been through what one would call a typical "African-American" struggle.

Barack is the son of a white woman and a non-resident Kenyan student which makes him either Bi-Racial or Kenyan-American.

Will I vote for Obama   August 26th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

NEVER!

Worst...Ticket...Ever....   August 26th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Hillary, get up there and tell them you should have won. You were the true choice for the Democrats. (But, I'm still voting for McCain) :)

Alice in Florida   August 26th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Gallup just reported that McCain is ahead two points, and they call cell phones! Parties typically get a "bump" during their conventions, but Obama can't deliver!

I love you Hillary, but I can never vote for the race-card player! He disenfranchised me when it would have counted, and I will get even in November!

Gallup also reported that Hillary has an 80% approval rating among Democrats, and Obama's approval rating is 10% less among Democrats than McCain's is among Republicans!

Guess there aren't as many of you Obamabots as you think there are :)

Peter E   August 26th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

You know, Obama would be more appealing to many if his own supporters actually listened to his own call for unity, instead of engaging in the repulsive hatefest they've been throwing around their own party. Far too many Obama supporters undermine his positive message by spending far more time throwing mud at Clinton than they do attacking McCain.

NORA, FLORIDA   August 26th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

THis is Hillary's chance to really show America what she is made of. This very night could make or sink her further into debt. I don't think the 5 watt PUMA thinkers realize that they are doing more to hurt HIllary chances in any political forum; including the senate race next year.

She was not the only one with a huge amount of supporters. As a woman I like the history that she has made but it is time to move on and let the DEMS get the goons out of the White House!!!

Kaye- Jacksonville FL   August 26th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Come on now Hillary – bring 'em home! This is the biggest challenge you've faced....you can do it....speak from your heart, convince "them" that John McCain is not in their best interest, or the best for our country.

Democrats are waiting .... please don't disappoint us.
