Clinton speech a work-in-progress until the last minute

DENVER (CNN) -
Hillary Clinton's speech was a work-in-progress until the last minute, a Clinton aide tells CNN: speech-writers pulled an all-nighter and rushed it into the teleprompter. The video tribute to the New York senator was also a last-minute affair, and barely got done in time.

Tonight's speech was written by Lissa Muscatine, Jim Kennedy and chief speechwriter Jon Lovett, working closely with long-time Clinton advisors Maggie Williams and Cheryl Mills.

She talked a lot about herself.
Her talk of unity was scattered but still about her.
Her comments of Barack were few and far between.
She is still the same sad, sorry, sore loser of a Clinton.

  13. what more

what more can Hillary do to help this guy get elected. She cant pull the lever for everyone. He has to step up and do the rest himself.

She is not his spokeperson and he is so fortunate she spoke on his behalf.

She is the one who should have received the nomination anyway.

Now its hail Mary time for Obama cause Hillary has done all she can do for him.

  14. Clinton, no, wait, McCain Supporter

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is what you WON'T HAVE in the White House. That is the person the DNC rejected and manipulated out of her rightful place as the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States.

I will never vote for Obama. NEVER. A vote for Obama is a vote for Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and now Chicago-run DNC.

Tomorrow they'll have the fake vote – where they don't all the Hillary delegates vote because it would make The One look bad.

You can have them. I'll take McCain over that mugging any day.

I just watched tonight's Hillary's speech. She let the hammer down to convince her supporters to vote for Obama. But I must say her words bounced off me like rocks skipping across a small pond. I will never support the louse OBAMA not now or at anytime. But I will commend Hillary it took a very strong woman to do what she did tonight by praising OBAMA. She showed beyond any doubt she should be in the Oval Office and not some scumbag who won't be able to find the toilet.

Brilliant speech given by a brilliant person! This is one for the record books. Hillary made Obama look like a fool to be in national politics. He's not even in the same league.

That was a wonderful speech! I think Hillary did a terrific job. I also noticed the smug look on Michelle Obama and Biden....it was a disgrace. I also noticed that Michelle only clapped when Obama's name was mentioned. The Obamas expect Hillary to do so much for them and yet they can't even bear to give her some respect.

She said that she would vote for Obama, she said that Democrats should unite behind a candidate. I did not hear her use the words "You should vote for Obama" or an equivalent. Her delegates were not released, they were just told to unite. It was reluctant endorsement at best. Not nearly enough to sell her supporters on Obama. So disappointing.

Frankly, the speech did only what it was supposed to do, get everyone behind Barack Obama. I hear her saying she didn't get it, get over it and get behind the nominee Obama. If any Hillary supporter didn't hear that, listen again. If you still want to vote for McCain, you really are a Republican and there is little one can do about it since you have had your brain removed and replaced with the robotic ones they have.

She did good, but what I heard over and over. Get over it and get behind Barack Obama.

  25. Hillary supporter for Obama

Like Hillary said, did you care about all those people she met or did you just care about her? Like she said, think of your children and your grandchildren when you vote. You want another 4 years of the last 8? HIllary cares that the country's going down the tubes and so should you. McCain's going to give us 4 more years of Bush, Obama's not. It's that simple.
