I constantly hear from CNN about how Obama has some "challenge" or other, or the Democrats have a "challenge", or they're being "challenged" by a pundit.

McCain and the Republicans apparently don't have challenges. They have nothing they need to prove? They don't have anything they need to show to the American people?

What a joke.

I watched CNN's coverage of the convention from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm Tuesday night and I was frustrated because I felt that CNN was choosing what part of the convention we see, who we get to hear and for how long.
Much of the commentary was about how there was no meat, no spark to get people excited. Well, maybe you should have let us hear Nancy Pelosi - after all she is Speaker of the house. Instead of TELLING us what is good, bad, interesting, etc. Let us see for ourselves.
Tonight I have been watching on CSPAN and I feel that now I am seeing the actual convention - not through the filter of your coverage, but just as it is. Yes, some of the speakers are a little dull, but I am getting more of a feel for what is really going on, and frankly, they are no more dull than you guys are when you try to fill up airtime with the same questions and observations over and over again.
I actually feel you are doing a disservice to the voting public. Aren't we smart enough to watch it all and come to our own conclusions?

Mmmm. CNN appears to be paying absolutely no attention at all to what is going on at the convention.

This is just plain weird.

Jennifer Granholm is on the stage. Thanks for the info & not letting us hear her speech. Now let's hear our panel regurgitate the same crap over again for the tenth time.
We are so furious at the CNN coverage. Maybe if these talking heads would shut up and let us listen to the speakers there would be a message. The commentators keep saying that nothing is happening at the podium. Well, how about a new concept. Shut up & let the people hear what is being said. I have never watched a convention so poorly televised.

So all you pundits: SHUT UP !! AND BROADCAST THE CONVENTION!

PLEASE STOP the constant factoid trivia across the bottom of the CNN screen--It distracts, is boring, adds nothing and takes up a third of the screen!! What is wrong with you? Don't you know we are tuned in for the convention trivia, not YOUR version of TRIVIA!. PLEASE!

I am a loyal CNN watcher all the time and a Obama supporter. I have been watching all your coverage and I would like to see more of the convention and less of all of you talking. You keep saying the same thing over and over. I would have liked to have heard the Iowa Flood Victim as I was at the roundtable with Obama and her. I would like to see more speaker and LESS of your talk.
I know you repeat all the time normally but when there are speakers to listen to PLEASE let us hear them.

Thank you for your time R P

Terrible coverage by CNN. All we've been given are rows of talking heads complaining about the lack of message while speakers are on the podium delivering that message, but not being heard because the reporters are talking endlessly. Thank God for public TV and CSpan--without the other stations we would have a week of David Gergen and the others talking to themselves or the other reporters and leaving the American voter out of one of our own conventions. Worst coverage I've ever watched.

How would you know what was being said? You and the rest of the verbose, listen to me talked right through the speakers like the union reps and the Gov. of Arizona, complaining that no one was taking on McCain or presenting Obama's policies.

Guess what they showed ALL of the speeches, trusting the voters that they don't need your BS, and let us hear their criticsma and the policies they supported for ourselves.

Too much Clinton, too much map too much you and Carvelle.

PBS all the way!!

Why - for sake - are you complaining about the Democrats needing to get specific about things like their tax plans when you are talking all over the speeches that do, in fact, address exactly those specificities???

Your coverage is a little better than yesterday, but the questions I had then still stand:

Why are you complaining the convention needs to address this and that but then don't actually listen to what is said? Why is your only theme the wildly overblown Obama-Clinton competion when at the same time you are saying that the Democrats need to get their message out? Why are you all there in Denver when you could have your discussion rounds just as well in the usual places?

Is this a news coverage or a pundit coverage?

Wait, and please wait!

Is the Democratic party about the Clintons (i.e., Hillary) or the Democratic Party?

Why did the Clintons not dominate the Gore and Kerry nomination processes? Gore was Bill's VP for 8 years…

America has, and continues to take advantage of the Black Man!! Americans may be blind to this fact, but the WORLD that is watching America is NOT blind! A Black Man fought hard and won, plain and simple!!!!

As a long time CNN fan I have finally changed the channel. The coverage of the convention is shameful. This is not a Clinton coronation nor a place for McCain's attack dogs. Those that are tuned in are only tuned in to watch the democrats celebrate this election. I hope your bad judgment shows up soon on your ratings and then you'll have more to worry about than the polls in this election.

Why don't Americans read the subjects the candidates voted on. It is available on different web-sites and is public. You even can read what the political candidates are up to by looking in their background. Even if they seem to do good work look at the info of the company's they worked for
and make up your mind. It takes same time and work but I can tell you it is very important for America that every body take this serious.

I hope the supporters of Hillary Clinton realize that her and Barrack Obama have one major thing in common, that they both in agreement that the worst possible thing that could happen would be for John McBush I mean John McCain to win! I have a hard time believing that some supporters are thinking about voting for McCain because they feel Hillary was disrespected and are mad. The republicans are loving this and laughing at the same time.Come on people what is more important ! If Barrack Obama loses because Hillary supporters switch sides they will be mad too. I hope after her appearance tonight, and her speech supporting Barrack Obama you come to your senses.Do you really think Hillary Clinton would get the backing of the more than 18 million voters who supported Barrack Obama if she ran for president in 2012 ? The republicans win again, how depressing.

Whether McCain nominates a woman as veep will not change the Bush economics that shipped my job and healthcare to China, foreclosed my home and literally blocked credit options for ordinary Americans.

Come rain or shine, Romney or Hutchinson, my vote goes to Obama.

From my perspective what is lacking at the DNC convention has something to do with your the media. The Analysts, Commentators, and Strategists on stage. Shouldn't the media be there to set a tone?!? I think they are painting the wrong image! The question I pose to them is where is "their" enthusiasm, excitement, and support? Basically, all I'm hearing is a lot of negatism!!

Supporters as myself, don't want to hear all the reasons as to why he (Barack) has to work so hard, and hearing it's an uphill battle for him! True, there are Republican strategists there and this talk is to be expected from them.

Why aren't they getting out in the audience and interviewing some of the voters and campaign workers... the real people???

Proud Democrat,

How can the viewers "get excited", if all we see is the talking heads??? Let the viewers hear at least most of the speeches.....the public is not going to go online to hear it..they are watching YOU for that!! Show the convention and let the talking take place on your normal shows!!

Nothing changes. Was for Hillary. Now for McCain.

Hillary is qualified to be president.
McCain is qualified to be president.
Obama is NOT qualified to be president.

It's as simple as that.....and no one's pretty words these next few days, not even Hillary's, will change that.

Don't believe in God? Don't believe He is pro-active? Don't believe He cares about America?

Then someone please explain the selection of Biden for v.p. If Obama had given the Republicans permission to choose his v.p., they couldn't have done any better (or worse, depending on which party you favor).

That self-destructive move has God's name written all over it. Praise God and His infinite wisdom! Bless the children!!

I am a life-long democrat who will vote for McCain this year. To those who are waving the Roe/Wade banner, McCain will face a Congress with the Democrats in control. Anyone he nominates for the Supreme Court will be a Moderate or they will never get through Congressional approval. McCain in 2008/Hillary in 2012 and I hope she learned a lesson this time around on how to run a campaign.

I would appreciate if you would explain in more detail the civil war going on in the DNC. On the one hand we have the Clinton's who while obviously having no problem with corporate money maintained a populist attitude for the last 32 years. On the other hand you have Uncle Ted, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and Donna Brazile: rich evil scum, whom only seek to advance themselves. You need to explain to people that they are not really voting for Obama, they are only voting to put a new head on the DNC. Obama was in no position to let women share in America, because he would have had to go against his bosses. Their whole purpose in this election was to cut off the Clinton Head of the party. Check out Howard Dean's history. This is all personal to him. He hates Bill Clinton, because Clinton spent a lot of money against him. People need to stop deluding themselves that the Obamas are anything more than Howard Dean's mouthpiece. We hear that they are threatening us with Roe v. Wade. That just shows how out of touch they are. Fundamentalists have already ridded us of a right to choose with shooting doctors and terrorizing teenagers in great tracts of this country. You just have to ask yourself, who do you want making decisions in these troubling times, people who use the bottom line and polls to make decisions or patriots who will sacrifice something of themselves for their country. I would have liked to see Hillary in the White House. She would have brought Obama with her. But, since Pelosi and crew are pushing it this far, I will vote for McKinney. I know that puts a fascist in the white house. At least the trains will run on time, as they say. Better than organized crime and fundie wannabes anyday. They'll be burning people at the stake. Think about it. Bush is running at 20% approval. This election was a slam dunk. To even come this close to losing to the Republicans, just so Pelosi and Brazile and Dean can advance in personal power and corporate draw. That is traitorous. Pure and simple. Add to that they have set suffrage back 100 years. I can't stomach this. It is just to evil. How exactly is Hillary supposed to make that go down smooth? Not happening.

With all due respect to David Gergen and the rest of the best political team on television - its extremely frustrating as a viewer to hear comments like "the convention isn't giving a clear message, isn't fast paced enough, isn't engaging enough..." etc. when you all are talking all over the speakers. I have been watching CNN's coverage for hours and have barely seen any of the actual convention. I just keep seeing James Carville and other talking heads... talking. Please - get off the TV and let us watch the convention. Actually cover the news. I want to see what the democrats have to say - not Wolf. Please. Otherwise, I got to switch to CSPAN - they are actually covering the convention.

How about McCain's health care "Plan"? Know what it consists of?

TAXING the 160 MILLION Americans who get health insurance at work. He would then force people who presently have group coverage into the single coverage market. His “subsidy” for these poor souls would not begin to cover the actual health care costs, and it would not keep up with inflation.

That’s McCain’s gift to the health care industry – already the most expensive and least effective “system” in the developed world.

Wrong-way McCain. That’s what we should call him.

And that's just for starters.

That has to be why you seem to be so misinformed.

If you think the Dems are pro-woman then why all the hatred for Hillary right now and her lack of support for Obama?

You all are the same folks who thought Kennedy's speech was so heartfelt and praised him like some sort of hero.

Ted Kennedy lost the primary to Jimmy Carter. But he didn't back down. He took his fight to the convention floor. He barely shook Jimmy's hand at the convention. And if I remember correctly, Jimmy lost that election. But no one seems to blame Kennedy today.

So that's okay? He's still a hero?

Clinton did back down and is being somewhat civil. She even called Michelle Obama after her speech.

So why is she different? Because she's a woman?

Think about it folks. There's a huge double standard here. Even some of the Obama supporters who are women don't even realize the sexism that's going on.

The Obama campaign made one major mistake. They should have hired David Gergen to run the strategy for the convention and as a major advisor from the time he won the nomination through the election. David get's it. The convention is very dull. Teddy and Michelle did a fantastic job last night, but we have a major challenge in the midwest due to Hillary not being on the ticket. I did not vote for her in our primary, but I do think that we would have the chance to win in a landslide with her. Biden is a fantastic guy, but Hillary would have made the job to get Barak to get elected alot easier. We really have our work cut out for us and the Republicans are so nasty. The McCain ads during the convention on CNN are in such bad taste! Obama Campaign, please hire David Gergen as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!We need him badly!!!!!!!!!

James Carville is so Hillary driven that he simply cannot speak positively about anything else.... he will knock every single thing about this convention except for Bill and Hillary speeches. He will glorify Bill and Hillary to the nth degree, and everything else will be negative.
Please CNN, get rid of him!
Put Jack Cafferty on the panel.... he's the best of the best!

Blend these messages? You gotta be kidding. The Democrats have not shown any signs of being able to blend anything. The Democratic Party is up to its oldest trick: nominating a candidate who cannot win a national election.

James Carville is the only person so far that has given interest of any kind to the convention so far. Yes Kennedy was moving, and Michelle was "sweet," but let's get to the point!!!! I hope Hillary pulls through.

When something doesnt go right with Obama everyone blames the Clinton's. Is he ever going to take responsibility for anything he does to himself? It's so sad that some Americans are so desperate to get a Democrat in the White House that they will take this guy with no experience or leadership just so the Republicans don't get a shot at the job again. After everything Obama has been doing to derail Hillary, can someone tell me again how the Republicans are worse than the Democrats??

To the "33and 1/3..." - Why should you to respond to a REPUBLICAN reaching out to you? Are you a Democrat or what? You must be one of the spoiled brats crying foul when your personal preferences are not honored by the rules. Obama won the DEMOCRATIC nomination and should expect any Democrat to vote the party. You would expect the same if Hillary won. If you want more of the same Bush policies for 4 more years, I would question your mental capacity; your emotional immaturity has already been displayed.
