Watch Rudy Giuliani's interview with CNN.
(CNN)– Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined the choir of ardent Hillary Clinton supporters Tuesday night– asking why Barack Obama passed up the New York senator for his number two spot.
"I just think that they made a big mistake in the choice that they made," Giuliani told a CNN panel at the Democratic National Convention. "It's a no-brainer. [Hillary Clinton] got 18 million votes, Joe [Biden] got 9,000 votes...The normal political thing to do in terms of the best decision to make to win would have been to pick Hillary Clinton," Giuliani said urging the presumptive Democratic nominee to give an explanation to unhappy Democrats.
Giuliani has been an outspoken supporter of the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain since abandoning his own presidential bid - emphasizing the Arizona senator's talking points on various political broadcasts.
Last week, during his first conference call as a surrogate for McCain, the former New York mayor had a difficult time when the subject veered away from the intended foreign policy talk. Giuliani accused Daniel Kurtzer, an Obama adviser and former U.S. ambassador to Israel of engaging in a freelance “mission” to Syria - accusations at which the Obama campaign quickly fired back.
Asked Tuesday night if he would draw contrast between the two parties during his keynote address next week at the Republican National Convention, Giuliani said you can expect him to do exactly that.
"I'm sure there will be comparisons," Giuliani said. The choice is between "John McCain who has tremendous experience who has worked on both sides of the aisle, against a senator from Illinois [who is] one of the least-experienced candidates we ever had for president."
Giuliani is expected to be part of a news conference Wednesday, during the Democratic National Convention to discuss "why Barack Obama is wrong on national security," according to a media advisory.
Guiliani = republican boy toy
You are pathetic, Rudy.
When did he become an expert on no-brainers??!!! It was a no brainer that Rudy should not have run for office!!!!!!!!
Ah, Rudy's just jealous of Biden's 9,000 votes, but Rudy could speak knowledgeably about mistakes: was he still telecasting from Florida?
The only no brainer here is Rudy G himself. I don't know what relevance this political loser has to anything. He's a member of the party of the past and the party of 8 years of failures. Failure in foreign policy, failure in domestic policy, failure with the economy and hopefully when it's all said and done, the party of war criminals and law breakers who hopefully will do hard time. I look forward to the war crimes and corruption trials of bush, cheney, rummy, gonzo and condi.
Rudy's a joke. In 2000 when he was running against Clinton for Senator in my home state of NY he ran like a girl when he realized he was going to lose. The Republicans ended up with Rick Lazio (who?) who was easily trounced by her. He couldn't even win an election in his home state let alone on a national stage (remember when Florida was his "firewall"?). Why McCain tapped him is beyond me.
Didn't Giuliani spend 48 million for one delegate?
Sorry... Why would anyone care what he has to say concerning "decision making"?
Marie, I'm looking forward to another 8 years of great leadership too!!!
Let's talk about the BIG mistake Rudy made during 9/11.
Democrat UNITE don't fall for this.
Let's see if McSame chooses Rudy for his VP. Not!
Just make sure McCain don't blow the chance
to pick the best VP for his ticket.....
The mistake was made by the DNC who rigged the election so that it would have OBAMA as it's candidate. They did not want the Clintons in any more power. Thank you, Dean, Pelosi< Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson,. Byrd you are all scoundrels like the sorry scumbag you have put into candidacy who will not succeed. You have destroyed the Democrat party. We Hillary supporters regardless of her speech are not uniting for the Obama cause. That would be like helping the devil hand out apples.
Yeah this from a guy who's only qualification is that he was mayor of the city when 9 11 happened
Rudy wasn't seen THIS MUCH when he was campaigning on his own behalf...must be something in it for him...of course they wanted him to pick Clinton...it would have easier for them to attack...they don't care about her well being...or anyone else's for that matter...keep playing the "Hillary" card...maybe McCain should put her on his ticket since he is soooo concerned...
Rudy: " I think, 9/11, that Joe Biden, 9/11, is not a , 9/11, good choice, 9/11, for VP. I still, 9/11, think that I, 9/11, should have been, 9/11, the GOP's, 9/11, choice".
Rudy – stop being a whiner baby! Still stinging from the attempt to get the Republican nod that never really got off the ground?? Or still stinging from single-handedly ruining Wall street ? Remember Drexel Burnham and Michael Milken?? Go date another cousin of yours
Just like a dieheart Republican always stirring up mess, still seeking the weak minded or faint at heart!
I'd say he's taunting PUMAs.
The right wing is finally making the move of trying to gather as many of them up as possible before the democratic convention is over and most migrate back to sanity.
I am sure Sen. Clinton would have made Mr. Guilliani's wish list. She would have been an easy target for the most negative attacks in the goodie bag of the Republican Party.
Yeah Rudy – give advice on how to WIN an election. That's like getting parenting advice from Brittany.
Words of wisdom from the would-have-been candidate who chose to NOT show up for the campaign. Giuliani hasn't an ounce of brain power to make that observation about Biden.
and we do know how the reps like thier boy toy's
a noun, a verb and 9/11. Guiliani is the one without a brain
Of course Giuliani and the rest of the Republicans were rooting for Hillary. They were chomping at the bit to go against Hillary. They had their whole campaign prepared. When Obama won the Primary it sent them into a tail-spin. They're still trying to figure out how to let loose their dogs of war on him. They already knew how to do it against a Clinton.
That said, it was a hell of a speech Hillary gave! For our sakes, I hope she stays in the Senate and doesn't run for governor. Ted Kennedy may be handing over the torch of hope in the Presidency to Obama, but he should consider getting Hillary ready for his Senatorial Liberal Lion mantle. She'll be fantastic there and create a legacy as rich as Ted's.
Be Quiet Rudy Poot! You Dont Know Your Behind From A Hole In The Ground! Why Dont Comment On Something You Know About. . . Like How Lame Your Campaign Was You Loser!
If we're talking NO BRAINER than I guess Giuliani is an expert on the subject. Who in hell cares what Mr. 9/11 has to say about anything? He's a scumbag and a has been.
