Simple answer is that Obama did not/could not choose Hil for the fact that she would not/could not stay on message, and Bill as the 3rd wheel, the Republicans would save a ton of money rolling out the scandals and just watching it unfold on it's own.

Smart move.

That is not to say (yet again) that Hillary does not deserve a cabinet post or even a seat on the Supreme Court, which I think, she would cement her legacy as one of the Supreme Court Justices of our time.

So tired of all the 'Obama lacks experience' whiners. Bush and Reagan had fewer achievements--do you folks whine about them? For that matter Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Tom DeLay, Phil Gramm and numerous other neo-cons had tons of so-called 'experience'...and where did all that experience take our country over the last 8 years???

We all know bosses who are idiots, and elders who are fools...rather than wise with experience. What matters are the policies and the execution. Obama's campaign has shown more detailed policies and better campaign execution than McCains. McCain has beat Obama so far only in spending negative ad money and spreading dirt.

After all the years of villification and slanderous actions against the Clintons, at the hands of McCain and the Republicans. McCain must be an idiot to think that his strategy of dividing the Democratic Party will work. McLame may have Alzheimers but we Dems have not forgotten. On the issues of the Economy, Healthcare, Abortion, Iraq & foreign policy, Energy and personal freedoms, Barack & the Democratic party are light years ahead of McCain and his idealess divisive clan. In 4 months the Republicans will suffer the consequences for the mismanagement of America for the last 8 years.

I hardly think Guiliani should tell anyone what good political moves are. The whole, wait it out 'till Florida really did well for him..huh? Probably the biggest blunder in Presidential Politics. He spent more money per delegate than anyone in Presidential political history. I respect him, but he should keep the advice to himself.

The fact that Republican Mayor Giuliani thinks Senator Obama was wrong to pick Biden and that Clinton was a no-brainer proves that it was the right decision. The Republicans were looking forward to energizing their base with anti-Clinton ads. They are just disappointed they can not attack Bill and Hillary Clinton now.

Mark this post: Obama will lose the election because he picked Biden over Clinton. This showed many Democrat fence sitters that he could not put his pride and ego on the shelf and pick the VP candidate who would have helped him to win a landslide victory against McCain. Poor judgment re: his first most important decision. I cannot vote for that. For all of you Obama supporters who rant and rave that Clinton supporters should "get over it," keep in mind that Obama could not get over himself. IF HE LOSES (AND HE WILL), IT WILL NOT BECAUSE I FAILED TO FALL IN LINE AS A GOOD DEMOCRAT, IT WILL BE BECAUSE HE MADE A VERY STUPID DECISION THAT ALIENATED 50% OF DEMOCRATS. Biden looks like McCain. The decision stinks and Obama will now sink. You should also know that I voted for Obama in the primaries and wish I could take that vote back (even though my state went to Clinton). I liked him before I saw the ugly side of his character--egotism, pride and shunning Hillary as if he were spoiling his party. Nader '08 Clinton '12.

Oh please- so now democrats are supposed to listen to Giulliani, sean hannity and McCain's campaign say that Hillary Clinton was a 'no brainer" - I mean seriously I can't imagine that my fellow democrats can be this gullible. We might as well start listening to Karl Roves advise.

They say this because they know that if Obama picked Hillary -not only would that rile up the republican base , they would have a worldwind of HIllarys own attacks on barack as ammo, and not to mention Barack's first presidential decision would have been viewed as "weak".

If dems/Indep. can't figure that out .....then you need to move over to the other side!!!

It took the McCain campaign exactly 5 minutes to come up with a speech highlighting all of Hillary's criticisms of Obama. What kind of field day would they have if Hill was the VP? Biden said far fewer negative things, but his comments were still brought up by Republicans as a problem for Obama.

Gilianni is just stirring the pot. Here's a man whose presidential bid las fall ended after 2 months. who was reviled in the state of new york until his reputation was saved by 9/11 which he totally profiteered from.

this loser is in no position to talk about "experience" when his own presidential campaign never got off the ground

What do you expect to hear from Guilliani who spent over $50miilion for his GOP primary, but go less than 3 per cent of the primary votes? He could not even organize his political campaign and did not even win a single state! He is very good in marrying and divorcing!!!

It sends a message of divisiveness that Obama would pick Biden over Clinton. And it says a lot about him in the type of leader he would be. That basically he speaks one way about who he is and shows something else. Like how he won his Senate seat: http://attackmachine.com/blog/2008/08/20/how-did-obama-win-his-first-election/
An Obama/Hillary ticket would have been ost likely unbeatable landslide victory. I mean, isn't the goal to win the election?
Obama wants "change", the theme for the convention is "unity". Well which one is it really ? Wouldn't real change come from unity???
The most powerful statement of unity would have been an Obama/Clinton ticket.
Of Obama’s choice, McCain called it "wise". Wise, yes, but for Obama? McCain could only be smirking with joy.

It's laughable that Guiliani is calling Obama inexperienced. The ONLY reason he was even in the running was because of 9/11. Hell if I was the mayor of NYC back then I too would have been championed as a presidential candidate.

There are no "Democrats for McCain". These are merely Republican tools stirring a pot of soup they wish the media to keep eating from.

If you were truly for Hillary, you are now truly for Obama -- perhaps not because of him (I can understand even despising him personally), but because of the politics. Hillary made it 100% clear: "No way. No how. No McCain".

I've yet to hear an argument to the contrary from any alleged former Hillary supporter now flipping to McCain that belongs anywhere outside of a schoolyard sandbox.

Hillary supporters kill me. Which at the beggin I was one. I have heard ever lame reason why Hillary lost the race, but you want to know the one reason I havent heard because she lost the Dems primaries ? And that because of her ego yes I said it ego. It was Hillary and Hillary only who was so sure she was going to sweep thru super tuesday and win the Nomination. It was her lack of a plan for after super tuesday is why Obama was able to win the next 13 contest. Obama didnt force her not to have a plan that was on Hillary herself. At the end after she got her campain on track she won out the last contest but by then it was to late.

But everyone wants to blame everyone and everything esle. Obama was being sexiest, even tho the Clintons where the ones that made race a issue. Or at least Bill Clinton did. It was Hillary that ran the most Rep campain by a Dem that I ever seen. Obama didnt make Hillary tell that lie about snipper fire and yes that was a lie she didnt mispoke because she was tired. If she was confused about that time that must mean there was another time someone try to shoot at her and this was when ? Fact is she never been under snipper fire but it sure sounded on the campain tail didnt it ?

So when will the Hillary supporters finally be adults and admit your Hillary lost because of herself and no one esle. Voting for McCain because she didnt win isnt a good thing. It just shows more that Hillary supporters are just spoilded children who dont get there way they throw a rant.

Now Giuliani is an expert on what the Democrats should do to win elections? Remind me of how well he did in the Republican primaries.

I don't think Hillary would have been happy in the VP spot anyway. She would have been in another supporting role behind a charismatic male. Been there, done that. She can be more effective advocating for her agenda in the Senate.

If Hillary had dropped out of the race for president, she may have been selected as VP. It would be an insult to offer the VP spot to an individual who is still in the race. Until she release her delegates, she is official still running for president. Why are people being so stupid regarding that fact. The "no brainer," is to pick a running mate that will run with you, not against you.

McCain is older now than Reagan was when he was first elected. Think about that. Go back and look at pictures of presidents before and after their terms. There is no way McCain will survive if he is elected. Republicans better vote based on who the VP is.

Why is the opposition's fifth place finisher being asked for his opinion?

This man is not an expert. He was a complete failure in his bid to become president and treating him like an expert on presidential politics makes CNN look like a joke.

Rudy and the gang are frightened by the mere thought of going up against a man with his resume. They only wanted Hillary so they could tear her down just as in the ads! But Hillary stood strong against wrong! Way to go Hill!

Keep trying to stir the pot! Haven't you heard Slurry 911: We're united now!! Hillary's moved on and now you and your Friend will have to find a new way to win. It won't be the issues (McCain and the GOP have none to run on) and it won't be this idea of Democratic Party discord (see Hillary's speech tonight). After President Clinton and Senator Biden have their say tomorrow, the "inexperienced, unqualified candidate" line will lose its power.

What else you got, McCain??

Republicans hate Clintons!!!!

Republicans always Unite to fight against Clintons! They know their own party does NOT SUPPORT McCain!!!! They only wish Clinton was on the TIcket, so that Republicans would actually go out and vote for McCain. They wish CLinton supportors would vote for McCain, because the real Republicans won't vote for McCain!!!

Republican after Republican is crossing the line and voting for Obama, because they trust Obama more! They like Obama better on the issues!

As long as Democrats stay together as Hillary says, then Obama will win by a landslide in 2008 and 2012!!!

If that happens, if Hillary's Supportors vote for Obama now, then it will insure that Hillary will be President after Obama! Giving us 16 Years!!!! Now that's the TRUE DREAM!!!!

Obama and Hillary being Presidents in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020!!!

PUMA NEEDS TO THINK ABOUT THAT!!!!!
16 Years of Democrats is Better Than just 8!!!!!

An Obama Win Now, Will Insure A Hillary Win in 8 Years!!!!

Using that logic, McCain would have been Bush's best choice in 2000, Pat Buchanan Dole's best choice in 1996, and Jerry Brown as Clinton's pick in 1992. But that sort of "logic" is ridiculous.

I've heard enough of this contemptible man. The agenda of the GOP is transparent. They hope to win by tricking Hillary's supporters into actually believing that John McCain really cares about them, or about her. It is campaigning at its lowest. I guess when you have no credibility on REAL issues, the lowest, dirtiest tricks are all that's left. I hope that most Clinton supporters will not be taken in by this vile tactic. The GOP is using your candidate as a pawn, and against her wishes.

It's been reported that part of the HRC's vetting process for VP would have had to include looking into donations to the Bill Clinton presidential library. If so I would suspect that much of the reason she was not seriously considered was her and Bill's choosing..

Who cares what Giuliani thinks. It makes perfect sense the he would think Hillary should be on the ticket: the two of them have a lot in common. They both went into the primary season thinking that it was just going to be a victory lap for them and they both found out otherwise. McCain scored a first round knock-out against this clown. If Barack Obama wanted to know how to lose an election impressively, he should ask Giuliani. Otherwise, he'd be an idiot to take anything he says seriously.

Because Obama did not pick Hillary as VP, she will likley never have a chance at running on the Democratic ticket as President.

If Obama loses in 2008, many Democrats will blame here supporters and the party will shun her in 2012.
If Obama wins in 2008, he runs again in 2012. If he wins in 2012 his VP will be by far the most likley choice for President on the 2016 ticket.

If Obama loses she is shunned and as long as Obama wins she has no opportunity to run. He struck her down for good by not making her VP.
