But Republicans are wasting their time trying to woo Hilary's supporters. A Democrat who'd vote for McCain over Obama simply on the Hillary issue is not a true Democrat at all. Democrats are not one issue people like some Republicans are. Any Dem with half a brain (which is half more than most Republicans) realizes that McCain is a 180 from Hillary.

I need to use this space (no other space has been provided) to register my deep disappointment with CNN's coverage last night. I'm not sure how a network can criticize the Democrats for not staging effective television or not providing a message in its speeches when it did not even show the speeches themselves and instead talked right through them. This coverage is even more confounding given CNN's recent patting itself on the back for showing extended clips of speeches so that voters could make up their own minds on the candidates. Put aside how insulting it is to suggest we voters need to be told by the media that we can decide for ourselves, the convention coverage then went right ahead and framed the night as a wasted opportunity for Democrats without actually giving us the chance to decide for ourselves. Someone will have to explain to me how this is an example of the "best political team on television."

Lets face it. Hillary was right. He is inexperienced.
And if Hillary had won the nomination… McCain would be using Obama's words and commercials to his gain.

Hillary's adds were on target then and still are. But remember, the current President was not necessarily the best man around to handle 9/11. Afterall, as we were under attack, he was frozen with indecision during an educaltional promo event for his "No child left behind" program. McCain or Al Gore would have been the better men to handle that situation as well but the Republicans chose the other guy for his evangelical roots rather than foreign affairs capability the year before. LIkewise, when it came time to address the terorist threat militarily, Bush chose to do a quick fix for Afganistan so he could get down to the business of invading Iraq. Now look where we are. The Taliban is regaining control, Al Quada is still around, Osama is still at large, and terrorists attack at will in Iraq…going on seven years now.

This ad raised a legitimate question. How would a president Obama react in a time of crisis? We saw how slowly he started to criticized Russia over Georgia. He initially wanted an aggressive diplomacy when the Russian tanks already rolling all over the country. I do not have confidence in Obama.

What makes people think McCain would be better at a 3am call. He has hot temper and would likely over react to any sitiuation. On top of that he has no understanding of foreign policy details. He doesn't know hte difference between Shiite and Sunni or that Iraq is run by Shiites and that Al Queda is a Sunni organization. These details are important for any response. He doesn't evn know what countries exist in Europe. I'm suprised he knew where Georgia was when Russia attacked, Oh and what happened there, we did nothing. McCain will almost certainly start WWIII. Two things:

1) Just because McCain is now using this ad, does not make it untrue

2) Hillary probably sold the ad to McCain to pay back some of her campaign debts.

Regardless of who you vote for, Hillary gave a littany of information to the GOP to use against Obama. Republicans, please, thank Hillary for all her support.

I think that this is a good move by McCain. Although I am not a fan of scare tactics, how better to prove that your candidate is not worthy of the presidency than putting forth the words of its own party members. It is unfortuante that Hillary ran the type of campaign she did because now it seems difficult that everyone is going to magically "unite". Biden is a great guy, don't get me wrong, but that is all he is. Growing up in the Philadelphia area I am very familiar with Mr. Biden. He seems to be a parrot character, regurgitating whtever he thinks the people want to hear regardless of his own point of view. As a man, Biden is great, as a politician he seems to flip flip more than Kerry….

We can choose to be a part of the problem or take it upon ourselves to be a stabilzing, intelligent force and be a part of new solutions.

McCain and the likes are like fish trapped in a tide pool. They need help getting out, and the only way I can see to help is to not cultivate like-minded energy and allow myself to be manipulated by distorted definitions of patriotism and new-found fears.

As much time as McCain takes off from work and the amount of sleep he needs every day there can only be a situation between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. But I am sure he will leave standing orders to shoot and wait until he wakes up or gets back from the weekend. The secret service won't even know where he is at because Cindy may take him to one of their homes he forgot about. Can one imagine how much it will cost the secret service to make each one of his 11 homes safe for a president. That alone will break our budget.

I am feeling a little disheartened by one aspect of this campaign, and it is the lack of imagination in responding to Republican attach ads. It brings back memories of the Kerry campaign.

1. I am increasingly convinced American elections are not about who offers the best and brightest policy decisions. The media plays a pivotal role in voters' decisions.

2. Case in point: the Republicans have just recycled Clinton's "3a.m." attack ad, and I was appalled by the Obama campaign's lack of imagination, and lack of response, then and now. It will have the effect of the "Swift Boat" attacks in 2004. Perhaps I'm naive but it seems obvious to me that the Obama campaign respond to that ad by having McCain pick up that 3a.m. call, and commit our troops to Iraq for the initial invasion. Then the ad reminds folks that that decision by McCain wasn't made in the dead of night but in the light of day. Just imagine how he'd respond to a call at 3am.

But the ad will go unanswered and as stupid as the ad might seem to us, it is an effective tool. And it will be one of many. It's one thing not to get down in the mud with the McCain campaign, but it's another to allow such ads to go unanswered.

How entertaining – every time I think about using this news service for information, I come across commentaries like these – reaffirming what I already know.

I'm tired of hearing about John McCain's Vietnam POW saga. That does not qualify him to be President of the United States. I have the utmost respect for people in the military, but when did that become the qualification for being President of the United States?

My concern is, what are you going to do for me? How will you make my life better and the lives of my grandchildren. We will always have wars. You just hope that when you vote, you are choosing the person you FEEL will protect you in a time of war, protect your livelihood and make you proud to be an AMERICAN. Just this morning on CNN, a high level McCain campaign representative was asked to name one way in which McCain's economic policy will differ from Bush's. That is exactly like a similar situation where one of his top campaign officials was asked basically the same question and he stared at the camera, deer-in-the-headlights and stammered, never providing ANY answer. He looked like McCain trying to explain his position on insurance companies paying for Viagra and not for birth control or answering a simple question about how many homes he and Barbie own.
