Schneider: A tough speech from a tough woman

ALT TEXT

Convention delegates greeted Clinton with a standing ovation. (Photo credit: Getty Images)
DENVER (CNN) - "Four more years of the last eight years." That’s a strong effort to refocus this campaign as a referendum on the Bush record. And to make the case that McCain equals Bush. These delegates are thrilled. The election has been in danger of becoming a referendum on Obama instead of the Bush record.

Watch: Hillary Clinton says 'It's time to unite'

Hillary’s speech is what used to be called a spellbinder. Or a stem-winder. Whatever.

This woman is tough. She burnished that reputation in the campaign. She never stopped fighting and never gave up - and drew enormous admiration for it.

A lot of Democrats wonder if Obama is this tough.

I now remember why the Clintons were always our champions. My Thanks and gratitude goes out to Hillary.

Now we realize anyone promoting McCain is a Republican. Have some honor people and identify yourself as such.

Where was THIS Hillary during the campaign. Perhaps if this one showed up more frequently the Dream Ticket would have indeed been possible. What a waste. This is the Hillary I know and love. Oh well, Biden....

    Here is the reality.

Weather your for Hillary or for Obama we do need to get together. This is not about either of the two, it's about AMERICA! McShame stands against everything Hillary or Obama believe in.

What has happened should be talked about BUT if you supported Hillary in the past and vote McShame you are spitting in her face. YOU are helping to destroy everything she has worked for.

We also have to look to the future.
EVERY TIME an Obama supporter rips down Hillary it divides us.
EVERY TIME a Hillary supporter rips down Obama it divides us.

If Obama needs Hillary supporters to win, then Hillary needs OBAMA supporters to win in the future. this is just a FACT!

We have a much grater issue to deal with and it's name is
    John McCain!

I don't care what Sen. Clinton says, this former Democrat will not vote for Obama. As far as Pelosi saying that Obama is doing way better than the polls indicate... not among the people I speak to, Nancy.

  17. Enough!!!

Schneider, have you been sleeping on another planet. Only racist people trying to plant seeds of doubt in other people's minds about Senator Obama would ask if he is tough enough. Let's see, he won the primary against the tough Hillary Clinton. Any more questions

    August 26, 2008 11:18 pm at 11:18 pm |
  18. Clinton, no, wait, McCain Supporter

And she is NOT the vp choice?

You can have the Democratic Party. And Obama should kiss her feet.

    Schneider,
Stop bringing Obama down, will ya? Get your stuff together and get behind Obama, whether you like it or not, he will be the next president
    Thank you

  21. Republican for Obama

The convention has now began. Hillary has played her role on Dems party unity. She nailed it...on why many independents and Republicans will vote for Obama. THE ECONOMY!

My job & healthcare shipped to China and foreclosed home,

Obama's got my vote in VA, come rain or shine.

Well, you have to give it to her that she made a great speech. Just wondering though, do any of the candidates ever write their own speeches or are they always written by other people and, if so, how much input does the candidate have?
