DENVER, Colorado (Time.com) - Every convention has its rogue narrative: Would Lyndon Johnson reach out to Bobby Kennedy in 1964? Would Reagan offer Ford a co-presidency in 1980? Could George Herbert Walker Bush tame Pat Buchanan's rebel band in 1992? The more freeze-dried the official proceedings, the hungrier reporters get for raw meat, real conflict, which has Democratic veterans like former Party Chairman Don Fowler looking a little drawn. He was a diehard South Carolina Hillary champion — "but you win, you lose, you move on." A loyal cadre of Hillary Clinton bitter-enders, Fowler says, "introduces so much uncertainty into an event like this, when it’s all supposed to be Apple pie and American flags."

I hope a mature politician like Hillary Clinton will put her loss in the primaries beind her and wholeheartedly shows her support of Obama. It may be a bit hard to swallow a loss in a bitterly fought contest, in the interests of party unity she will do it. She may still be a presidential candidate in the future again.

California Gold   August 26th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Hillary doesn't easily show this side of her, but Bill Clinton definitely can't mask his anger and feelings on the subject. His speech and the performance he gives at the Democrat Convention will be a true barometer. And in doing so he will continue to hurt his image.

ALLAN USA   August 26th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

NO HRC -- NO obama.

Peter (CA)   August 26th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Hillary may not be the issue but her "supporters" or the Republicans pretending to be her supporters are. It's time to realize it is all about your country. Do you want your country to continue to fall apart around our ears or not?

All Hillary has to say is:
"The differences between myself and Sen. Obama are nothing when compared to the differences between myself and Sen. McCain. Sen. McCain and I do not agree with the direction this country needs to go in. He wants to keep the status quo; I think that is a huge mistake. It is time for a change and that is why I am asking all of my supporters to put aside your own disappointment and join me in putting Sen. Barrack Obama in the White House."

Marie in California   August 26th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

I voted for Hillary. I will vote for McCain. Both are qualified to be president. Obama is not.

I don't care about "party." Never have. Actually, during this primary season, I've decided the DNC is pretty sleazy anyhow.

Country first, party last!

McCain 2008!

ralph   August 26th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

The Truth Is

A real Democrat who cared about our country would never vote for McSame. I think we are hearing a lot of bitterness and the media keeps inflaming it and blowing it up. People are free to vote for whomever they want. republicans and fake Demo-Racists will vote McSame and Real Democrats who care about ending the war, and health care, and education, and fixing Bush's reward the rich tax scheme will vote for Obama. It's that simple.

Ellie   August 26th, 2008 1:46 pm ET

The ONLY person who can bring all this "nonsense" to REST is Hillary Clinton. She needs to STEP UP and SHUT DOWN John McCain's attempts to USE HER in such a disgraceful manner against Sen. Obama.

It does NOT matter whether YOU support Hillary Clinton or Sen. Obama, what DOES MATTER is supporting your party as a WHOLE and putting a democratic President in office. This is NOT about Hillary, nor is it about Barrack...

This is about your future, your kid's future, the FUTURE of this country. It's about ALL OF US. This election is bigger than any of us. STOP making it a "personal ego issue for YOU"!!!

We have been focusing on ALL the WRONG things. NO one gives any credit to the second place team, the second place runner, the second place golfer, etc. WHY are we so set on destroying Sen. Clinton's political future? The same supporters who CLAIM to "LOVE and SUPPORT" Sen. Clinton are the SAME supporters who are stabbing her in the back and destroying her political future.

MAKE NO MISTAKE, if Sen. Barrack Obama should LOSE this election, it will be on Sen. Clinton's hands , she will be HELD accountable for his lost. A race is a race, someone had to win, and someone had to lose. Bottom line. The reality is, Sen. Clinton's own supporters are destroying their own candidate's future with their HATE, BITTERNESS and BETRAYAL!!!

Sen. Hillary Clinton has it in her POWER to SHUT DOWN THE McCAIN CAMP DOWN by CLEARLY DENOUNCING HIS "SCAPEGOAT ADS" AND CALLING ALL HER SUPPORTERS TO THE FLOOR!! SHE HAS TO SINGLE OUT HER TRUE SUPPORTERS BY SAYING.....

"IF YOU VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN, YOU ARE NO SUPPORTER OF MINE. I DO NOT SUPPORT JOHN McCAIN'S FAILED POLICIES, NOR DO I SUPPORT HIS CAMPAIGN IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM. SO IF YOU CHOSE TO VOTE AND SUPPORT JOHN McCAIN, THEN YOU ARE CLEARLY NO SUPPORTER OF MINE!

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT SEN. CLINTON SHOULD DO....
BOTTOM LINE.

Woman for Obama   August 26th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

I love Hillary. I think she is great. But, don't run a campaign expecting to win and expecting everyone to love you and forever and ever.

We are tired of hearing about this because more important issues are at stake then a few people's wounded egos.

Thank you.

Sandy   August 26th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Since Teddy's there, maybe he can give a seminar on losing graciously. We all saw how well he took it when he lost. And look , now the Dems want to nominate him for sainthood.

LET IT GO   August 26th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

CNN who cares enough about this women, What is wrong with this network obession with Hillary. She Lost fair and Square so let please move on jezz.

Pick Me! Pick Me!   August 26th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Let those who supported Hillary to vote for McCain. We will remember them in 2012 if McCain wins and will return the favor.

Personally, I don't believe they were for Hillary in the first place, ESPECIALLY if they are going to vote for McCain. McCain is a person who does not respect women, and women that don't respect themselves will vote for McCain.

Post this if you dare.

NotFallingInLine.org   August 26th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

What will Hillary say tonight to convince me to vote for an unknown, inexperienced, unqualified and unprincipled neophyte who sleazed off with a nomination that he did not earn and does not deserve?

That's the question the MSM continues to ask.

Why should SHE have to convince me?

Isn't that Obama's job?

Besides, what can she say? Nothing.

brenda   August 26th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

wonder how many people actually did vote for obama? i got a feeling that not as many as we thought. there are many who would not have voted for him if they had known what they do now and these are the people that will not vote obama in novemeber. i predict that obama will win hawaii (hes their homeboy), kansas (his mom was their homegirl) and Ilionois (hes their homey). all other states will go to mccain.

Mike, Syracuse NY   August 26th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

It's amazing how Democrats savage fellow Democrats and then have the unrealistic expectation that a few days in Denver will magicall heal everything. If Obama can't get Hillary's supporters to sing kunbaya with him, he has no hope of healing the divisions in this country.

Ex-mod-GOP for Obama   August 26th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

You do Senator Clinton no honor by voting for a candidate who is completely antithetical to everything she stands for. I would happily vote for Senator Clinton if she had won the primary.

Obama-Biden 2008/Hillary for Attorney General?

gt   August 26th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

come to ark and see how much healing is going on here....none.. mcccain 08 hillary 12

Bulldog   August 26th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

Why doesn't anyone EVER talk about all the Republicans who voted for Hillary in the primary just to hijack it and cause problems. The media is giving these hijacker Republicans a gift. They are making a circus out of it and keep claiming all the votes for Hillary were genuine when a good chunk of them were not and they know it.

NoMcSame   August 26th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

She is ok because she said how stupid the PUMA people are and how hurt she was that her people are all mouth and when it came down to supporting her by giving her money they all turned their backs on her. She also said that she takes back everything that she said about Obama and how she wishes her husband loved her like Obama loves his wife. Billary has cleaned up everything and then she got her respect back and will be called Hillary again. Now we will all work together to beat down the republicans and kick George out of the White House so that Obama can move in for the next 16 yrs because after his 8 Mrs. Obama will have to do her 8. What a beautiful world.

When all is said and done, we the American people must choose our leaders who we think are competent to guide us today and protect the resources and lives of the next generation. That protection has to be something greater than just military strength, but economical and educational strength. What good is having a powerful army while your people starve and fall behind the rest of the world? All the other countries are striving to improve themselves. America is the only country striving to preserve itself. The main problem with this is that while everyone else moves forward, we stay behind. I will vote for what makes us stronger.

NORA, FLORIDA   August 26th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I don't know and don't care. We do not have time to baby sit candidates who egos are BLOWN. It is t ime to put those illiterates that are in the White House OUT!!!! and OUT NOW!!!

ShneiderDaMan   August 26th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I got so tired of hearing from the Obama supporters telling me to shut up and move on. Last time I check, in America, we are free to vote for whom ever we choose. The democratic party will hear my vote! I will vote for McCain!
