I am so sick of spending my time posting "my comments" on CNN
Political Ticker (as if I thought CNN credits their audience as being
important) Personally, I think my comments are important too. But
you know, I am tired of typing away just to have it not posted or type
and before I am finished, COMMENTS FOR THIS HAVE BEEN CLOSED.

BY THE WAY, C-SPAN LET US LISTEN TO ALL THE SPEECHES NOT
JUST YOUR SELECTIONS.

John King, now I will tune in for him, but for the rest of you, I am
going to MSNBC. I love Keith Obernuefferman.

JR   August 28th, 2008 12:10 am ET

Jason Manley: Go back to CNN, they love you there.

Good work to the McCain camp, keep it up…

After all this hype in the end Obama will go back to Chicago with his tail between legs…back to his church…he'll write another book and go back on Oprah, maybe run for mayor of Chicago or Berkeley, CA..I personally hope he vanishes off the face of the earth…

Democratic National "Convention" what a joke…everyone in the crowd is like a bunch of drugged out Pagan Cult followers chanting change and hope…

Anyone remember the movie "Dragnet" with Dan Akroyd?
If you're going to the Democratic National Convention- "DON'T FORGET YER GOAT LEGGINGS!"
McCain 08
You Obama types need to get a sense of humor…idiots.

Gloria   August 28th, 2008 12:10 am ET

Why did you have to reveal this before Barack came and spoil the surprise? That was so childish of you. You couldn't wait for us to untie the ribbon and open the gift to savor the moment.

How about Obama making a cameo appearance at the end?!

We can't have anyone else getting TOO much attention tonight, not when The One hasn't gotten his face on TV in a whole 24 hours.

Tomorrow night will be mind-numbing. I plan to watch the test pattern on TV for a little stimulation.

With any luck, Biden will talk, talk, talk Obama right out of the presidency. By the first week in October, he'll be wearing a muzzle!!

Much to the naysayers dismay—this is a WINNING TICKET- NOT a WHINNING ticket.
The pumA's have been put in their place, the speeches have pointed how we are UNITED and that the feear & smear tactics always used by the gop won't work – NOT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!

CNN, could you please sponsor a poll with the question "Who is more likely to bring another war upon the American people, Obama or McCain?"

Marilyn   August 27th, 2008 11:45 pm ET

Joe, you were fantastic, just what Obama needs. You said it as it was and your connection with Obama previews how the two of you will work together in the future which will be absolutely powerful. You are an amazing father and politician. The values you inherited from your parents are the core values that will ensure a positive future. We are fortunate to have you as the next Vice President of The "United" States of America.

YES, YES, YES!! LOVED THE SPEECHES FROM MICHELLE, HILLARY, BILL AND HOPEFULLY OUR NEXT VP, JOE BIDEN. I AM 61 YRS OF AGE AND HAVE SEEN MANY CONVENTIONS IN THE PAST. I THINK THIS WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS ONE OF THE BEST BECAUSE OF THESE GREAT SPEECHES AND THE ISSUES! SOME OF THE BEST SPEACHES I HAVE EVER HEARD AND BELIEVE ME I HAVE HEARD MANY, FROM BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS. LOOK FORWARD TO MR. OBAMA'S SPEECH AND I PRAY TO GOD THAT HE WILL BE SITTING IN THAT WHITE HOUSE NEXT YEAR AS OUR NEW LEADER!!! GO GO GO DEMOCRATS!!!!!!!

Joe Biden had a lot of good material in his speech; however he did not organize his material well for his presentation. His subject matter wandered and hopefully, if his position of VP makes it to the Whitehouse, he won't have to do to much public speaking.

WA   August 27th, 2008 11:33 pm ET

What a Night! There is no doubt this is the winning ticket, winning party and the Change America needs. Not only Unity but Love for Nation, Respect among party members, and a new day for Americans!
Hillary Clinton was the beacon of light last night, tonight Bill Clinton laid it out and re-sealed the deal, Sen. Kerry was great! , Sen. Byne inspired, Joe Biden's Son brought tears of warmth, Joe Biden's family confirmed the American values and ideals they strive to achieve and hold dear, the navy General, Army General gave great insight to the needs of our military and how they've gone unmet under the Bush Administraton. Congratulations All !

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE AGENTS FROM HELL   August 27th, 2008 11:27 pm ET

THAT WAS AN ADDED TREAT, IT'S ALWAYS REFRESHING TO SEE HIM! OH HE LOOKS SO YOUNG, HEALTHY AND PRESIDENTIAL!

I LOVED THE FACT THAT HE DARED TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHILE AT THE SAME TIME HE DID NOT TAKE AWAY FROM BIDEN'S MOMENT, ALWAYS VERY GRACIOUS! AND HARDLY WAIT TO SEE AND HEAR HIM TOMORROW!

NOW WON'T IT BE A DELIGHT TO SEE HIM DELIVERING THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEECHES AS OPPOSE TO THOSE TWO TWIN MORONES BUSH AND MCBUSH?

Adrienne   August 27th, 2008 11:25 pm ET

On a side note.
I think the fact that 80,000 Americans care about their country and understand the historic nature of tomorrow is beautiful. I think it is very dangerous territory to make light of tomorrow's crowd. Tomorrow is far bigger than Obama alone. It is a celebration of a HUGE American milestone. It is a moment for all American's. Left or Right to celebrate. It transcends politics. To mock tomorrow night and all the american's who are able to watch the historic day.. is to mock America in one of it's best hours in history. McCain and his crew better be careful with snears about the American crowd tomorrow. Tomorrow is no normal night for America. Obama will pay tribute to men of legend tomorrow. We all will.

jaison Biagini   August 27th, 2008 11:25 pm ET

MichaelRayThompson   August 27th, 2008 11:17 pm ET

Whom are the Democrats kidding. Barak Obama needed a home run to even have a chance to beat John McCain in November. He's struck out. Joe Biden epitamizes everything that is wrong with the Democratic Party. He's an old-style liberal. Congradulations, President McCain!

I am a republican and I think the Democrats did a great job. I thought both Clinton and Biden spoke with respect about McCain and his relationship with them. They were sincere. I am excited to see how the RNC fights back and hope they give equal respect.

Debby   August 27th, 2008 11:10 pm ET

Biden ZZZZZZZ almost made a big Gaffe and called Pres. Clinton Bush. hahaha This guy is awful when he gets excited. I forgot how awful Kerry is in speech's no wonder he lost. The highlight was Bill Clinton he was masterful.

How come people who always got something negative to say are always scared to say their name on the blogs?…lol its also even more funny that " ITS A RIDDLE" thought the speeches were boring… The republicans wish they could be so electric. When is the last time McCain had a crowd of 10,000 people do anything? Its not Obamas and the DNC fault that they are more intresting…McCains only got the old man syndrome and ya'll know it. Get posative for a change old dud…

OK,
I'm just waiting for FOX News, and the rest of the GOP to spin tonight as a "Negative" for Democrats.

The reality is that Republicans are very scared right now. Hence, they are grasping at straws trying to tear down Obama in anyway possible.

Softy Democrats/wimps   August 27th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

No one is slamming McCain at this convention-

they only talk about how he will be the same as Bush, but I think that's a weak argument- especially since McCain is going to be talking about how different he is from Bush at his convention.

You'd better believe that the GOP will demonize Barack to the point that the public will think he is an absolute criminal, not capable, and not trustworthy. And that is effective. They will hit Barack on character, but Dems won't do the same to McCain.
Is McCain that powerful in Washington that people are afraid to dog him?

Fred   August 27th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

Hey CNN if you are trying to prove you that you are more balanced than FOX- leaning hard to the right isn't the answer. Lets have more reporting and less Republican commentary.

Jessy, FL   August 27th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

Sandy, I thought CNN [according to some wierd folks] was being to liberal and not conservative enough. I really wouldn't blame CNN anyways. I mean, how many people over there are switching over to being Democratic now that the right-wing nut jobs have screwed this country during the past decade?

No Way, No How, No George McCain!   August 27th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

Don, Eddie….they're called opinions, and thank God you and I have the right to express them. See how far any of this freedom would get in say….Russia, with Vladimir Putin, or in China, or Iran, or North Korea, or Syria, or…get it?!?

I disagree with many of the comments I read here but I served my country for six years during the apex of the Cold War to insure those freedoms remain intact, because in the end, I know that it is those freedoms that are our greatest strength.

My support of McCain is based primarily on what I consider to be our gravest threat, and that is Islamo-Fascisism, and a resurgent (and Fascist) Russia.

Taking the war to the Middle East and finally changing the politcal landscape there after almost 1,000 years of intransigence is REAL change.

Change that Barack Obama won't even acknowledge is happening, let alone why it's happening.

That's why I don't believe in him.

Ed,Ellenville,New York   August 27th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

Seriously, Biden is a good enough guy despite his ego, but he's not enough to energize this ticket, to make up for Obama's obvious weaknesses as a candidate, or to help us win back the White House this year.

The leadership of the Democratic Party has failed us all.
