Watch a body language expert examine Clinton's speech.

(CNN) — What did Hillary Clinton's body language give away at the Democratic National Convention?

Dan Hill, a body language expert and author of "Face Time," told CNN that even while the words Clinton delivered offered an unequivocal endorsement of Barack Obama, her body language was much less affirmative.

"When she spoke about Obama, she really did not emote very much," Hill said. "The only thing she showed was a very weak smile, the cheeks didn't tend to lift very much, it was really almost what I would call a 'crocodile smile' where even the slight corners of the lips sometimes raise into a little bit of a smirk."

"I don't think that helped move the 30 percent of her supporters who say they won't vote for Obama," Hill added. "What she did do was appeal to voters at large, that she did more emotionally."

Is this the same "body language expert' who schills for Bill O'Really?

I expect a phrenologist tomorrow.

After Barak Obama's speech, I expect you will be examining the entrails of a chicken.

Good luck with that.

RufusVonDufus   August 27th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

The beech still thinks she is the presumptive nominee and Obama only won through manipulation of the press. She lost and needs to get over it. Her and Billybob are a disgrace to the Democrat party. Go away Clintons, go away!

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Clinton Supporters voting for the Republicans !! How ridiculous and amazing!! The Clintons were more besieged and reviled by the Republicans than any other politicians in history. Obamas and Clintons policies are virtually identical and starkly different from McCains. In this context and with the health of the country and the world depending on the decision these jokers are voting for those same Republicans to support Hilary!! How dumb are these people…really!!!

Gary   August 27th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Why is it that if Obama loses Hillary can run again in 2012, why can't Obama win and Hillary can run again against him in 2012 for the top spot, is it because Obama might do a very good job and keep his presidency for eight years. Just food for thought.

ATLdem4Obama08!!!   August 27th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

I am an Obama supporter who supported Hillary until she changed my vote and opinion of her by her disrespect of Obama and air of entitlement. That said, I was SO proud of her for delivering a wonderful, powerful, and electrifying spech! I'm sorry to see that my preferred online news site has decided to take such a low road by posting this ridiculous body language article. No matter how many Hillary supporters wont and dont vote for Obama, he is still going to be the next POTUS! In my state alone he has registered over 400,000 new voters and that will more than make up for any PUMA's who are too racist to vote for Obama. Since he and Hill have the same views on every issue the only possible reason they could have to not vote Obama is his race. BARACK the VOTE! Obama/Biden 08 and 12!!!!

I hope Hillary's belittled supporters will consider voting for McCain.

If McCain wins, he will likely serve 1 term. So, HRC can run in 2012.
If Obama wins, he will likely run in 2012. So, HRC can run in 2016.

On October 26, Hillary will be 61.
In October 2012, she will be 65.
In October 2016, she will be 69.

Can you really wait 8 more years?

Cnn should also analyze a speach the same way when discussing something they know she believes. Can't base your conclusion with nothing to compare it to. In looking at all the blogs and comments this whole primary you all have really kept us reading these things. Clinton vs Obama has really made you all millions in ratings.

Shaun   August 27th, 2008 7:50 pm ET

Its rare to see americans at much of a consensus on anything, but it is nice to see that everyone pretty much agrees that cnn is getting out of hand trying to create drama from nothing.

What is the matter with CNN…you are the most VAPID news media! I know you want the Democrats to lose, but you have sunk to new levels! Maybe you should be consulting with palm readers and fortune tellers. By the way, your readers are smarter than your journalists!

Avid Reader.   August 27th, 2008 7:37 pm ET

Wow…. The only thing I can say about this "newsworthy" article, is that I will not be logging on to cnn.com anymore.

Linda from Indiana   August 27th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

This is really stupid. Hillary gave a speech that will go down in history. Who cares what her face reader thought? She was beautiful, charming, and gracious. Let's see a man be that gracious about losing!

TLH   August 27th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Wow, CNN amazes me everytime. Why is the media pushing so hard to show that there is no unity? Is there any unbiased reporting anymore?

Nick   August 27th, 2008 7:33 pm ET

Once again, CNN is a joke.

Scott   August 27th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

Talk about trying to find controversy in nothing. What do you want her to do? She is heart broken, no one denies that, but she DOES support Obama, certainly over McCain. Get off this high school crap, and grow up already.

jon   August 27th, 2008 7:30 pm ET

the biggest problem in this election is the media. i have long considered cnn my main outlet for news, but no longer. it is divisive and sensationalist. since when is cnn the national enquirer? this body language stuff is terrible. i have a phd in psychology, and study nonverbal behavior, and i can tell you that although dan hill is a great speaker, he is just saying what cnn wants to hear to make news.

Joan Vezina   August 27th, 2008 7:29 pm ET

Hilary's speech was amazing…whether her smiles were "real" or "crocodile", she's a bigger women than I. I was amused that in the early stages of her speech, she affirmed that she was a "proud mother", a "proud American", a "proud senator" etc., but what was conspicuously missing was a "proud wife"!! You Go Girl – and we all are "proud of YOU"!!!

Rodham Democrat   August 27th, 2008 7:24 pm ET

I LOVE Hillary and the Clintons… but I realized she wouldn't want me to vote for a Republican….

Republicans made her life miserable in the '90s by propping up Gennifer Flowers & Paula Jones, debacled her Universal Healthcare Plan, tried to diminish her HISTORIC Senate candidacy, and silently pushed their miserable talk radio friends Rush Limpdi** and Pee-On Hannity to belittle her during the Monica Lewinsky scandal when it wasn't even her fault….

Hillary despises Republicans more than anything…. she wouldn't want them to win and be happy when they are so down right now!

As long as most of the PUMAS vote for Cynthia, I dont care what her body language says. go GREEN!

I am ashamed of CNN –

What does her body language reveal?

Rapper drops F bomb.

Get real folks how about the news that people actually want to know about. For example

Violence in Pakistan, 71 migrants from Malta drown. I mean really folks, CNN is so ethnocentric and that is opposite of what the news is supposed to be, or at least that is what I thought.

At this point I am not even going to bother with CNN for some time.

Just pathetic!

#1 Hillary Suppoter   August 27th, 2008 7:21 pm ET

CNN give me a break!!!!!! You are reading people body language now? Hillary Clinton gave a wonderful speech last night! This women is amazing & everything she said last night was from the heart. You news stations make me sick! I am a Clinton supporter & I think that she should of got the nomination not OBAMA!!!!!! I don't think this man has enough experience to run the country. And you know whats even more sad is that for the 1st time this election has been all about race!!!! I am a black female who has had many conversations with my friends about who they are going to vote for . And because Obama is a black man some of them are voting for him. I think that Hillary should of been asked to be vice president because if obama is elected the next president he needs alot of help. We know nothing about him that should tell people that this might not be the way to go. I will not vote for OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!! PS Did you have that person read Michelle Obama body language last night? What was that ? it was jealousy, envy& hate! She will never be like Hillary!!

Unbelievable!! CNN used to be a respected journalistic force to be reckoned with. What happened?? The first 24 hour newscast that kept us informed of important events happening in our nation and around the world. I guess you have to resort to manufactoring the news now. You might as well sign off. -30-

Cathy   August 27th, 2008 7:16 pm ET

You mean the same smile she used all during the primaries? I think that she's been fake-smiling so long, all her life, that it IS her real smile now and there's no other way for her to do it. The lines are etched in her face.

I do not doubt this was very hard on her, and I respect her enormously for doing it.

Foxymary   August 27th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

I wasn't offended or impressed with Hillary. She did what is expected to retire her champaign debit and if the figure of 10 million is correct I would expect her performance to be top notich. I just want to remind everyone how she was willing to use race as an issue during her champaign. In her speech last night she quoted Tubbman and again I felt she was simply using a sterotype to justify her bad behavior. What African Americans need to remember is Harriett Tubbman was treated so badly by white Suffragists that she asked, "Am I not also a woman?" When people tell you who they are why not believe them? Hillary showed her true values … "winning all cost" during her champaign. Well, I want more from the leader of the free world. I want someone who has courage and is committed to doing the right thing. I am grateful America has an alternative to the Clintons. I pray that Obama and Biden will have the courage to redirect the country in a more positive direction.

Richard   August 27th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 7:13 pm ET

Dan Hill or CNN are wasting time and money analysing Hillary's body language, what a waste! Obviously they know very little about women HA! MEN CANN'T stand the idea that any woman can be smart, successful, admired and respected by 18 million people in America. Hillary was brilliant yesterday and she delivered her message very well, better than Hill or CNN.

I have to admit, I used to respect CNN.. But this election cycle has been a real eye opener. CNN is actually even worse than Fox lately. three days of coverage over how Edwards' affair will bring down the Democratic party, in spite of the fact that he isn't running for anything. Followed by the revelation that McSame has a history of cheating, to include his current possessed Cindy Brady doll, but it's apparently not an issue. Clinton comes out and supports Obama, in spite of the Republicons that switched parties as Agent Provocateurs, and they resort to collecting the "expert opinions" of her body language…. Wow. These are exactly the reasons that I support Obama more than ever. Anyone that scares the corporate-owned media this much has GOT to be my guy. No Way, How How, No McCain. Oh yeah – Lieberman…lol – let's see how THAT plays out…..

OBAMA '08 AND '12

Carol in VI   August 27th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

If Obama loses this race, it's this type of nonsense from the media, he can thank for it. The more the media digs at Hillary, the more her supporters will be turned off for what they see as unfair treatment.
Hillary has done her part with much grace. She ran a heck of a good race and got a lot farther than anyone in the media ever gave her credit to be able to do from the beginning.

Obama now needs to do his. He made his choice, he has to live with it, and so does everyone else. If the country had really wanted Biden, Biden would have been the last standing with Obama not Hillary. It is now up to Obama to prove to the country his choices were right and that he has real substance to go along with his hope speeches.

I liked both candidates and wished both would have been on the ticket together. That would have really showed change would have been for real. The entire democratic people showed by their votes divided between an African American and a woman that they really were serious about change. That is a first in America's history.

While both sides are arguing with each other, to the rest of us in the world, the totality of both sides choosing two people entirely out of the norm was monumental. It's a shame that the media and other influences find their way into what could have been the most significant moment in America's history as well as to the rest of us around the world watching.

Obama lost what could have been a very golden moment in history already not only for women in the US but around the world. We sat on the edges of our seat hoping he would see it and take it.

Obama, the media and the DNC screwed up the party. They are solely responsible for this whole mess! Obama WILL NOT get my vote.

This episode surrounding the die hard Clinton delegates is ridiculous to the point of insanity. For those who consider themselves part of this group, are you SERIOUSLY pondering either sitting out this election, or in the extreme, VOTING FOR Senator McCain? Let's place a very tacit point on the table:

During the Rick Warren discussions, Senator McCain, when asked who he would not have appointed to the Supreme Court among those Justices currently sitting, named everyone of the center-left leaning, socially moderate, objective constitutional interpreters. For those of you, and especially those of the female gender, who care about one's right to choose, and most importantly about issues concerning your personal well-being, a vote for Senator McCain or a non-vote essentially condemns all of you to yet more restrictions on your freedoms.

Is the disappointment you feel, which is understandable given its historical precedent, worth a near certain perpetuation, or worse, a further constraining of our Rights as American Citizens…as Humans?

Please GET OVER IT, GET REAL, and GET TO THE POLLS and vote for Senator Obama, if not for him personally, then for the change the refreshed Democratic message represents to this country.

Don   August 27th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Why haven't you commented on John McCains body language everytime he speaks? Oh, I know why, everybody knows his body language says he doesn't have a clue as to what's going on.

Sunny SoCA   August 27th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Get real CNN — this is a new low even for you!

What did you expect Hillary to do — kiss BO's ring?

Isn't it about time he took a little control and responsibility?

You thought Reagan was made of teflon — I bit BO has it all over him — nothing he does or has done — in the past 20 yrs. seems to stick. Maybe that is because he has the media behind him, DNC in his pocket, etc.

We can only hope for 2012 – and Hillary will be back.

My vote is mine and mine a lone — speak with your vote !

Ms. Smith   August 27th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

So many deserved insults to CNN — what more should I say.

But, I am curious. You close down sites for commentary, sometimes after 20. Why keep this going when it is about 98% negative toward CNN?

joni   August 27th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

oh come on…. her body language has always shown the true person she is!!! she needs to get over this.
The Bill-Hillary time is over, they need to move on, and let Obama be our next President. Bill already had his chance and we do not need another Clinton in the white house!!! that's for sure.

I'm sick of all the whining and anger from them both over this. They are poor losers!!!!

I am trying to see the humor here. What in the world does this have to do with Clinton's extremely solid and powerful delivery? It is history, it is unity, it is the strength of a person that I want my children to witness. Body language? If you read limited emoting it possibly could have been her pantsuit giving her discomfort. Get real and report something of substance – stop the noise.

Harut   August 27th, 2008 5:48 pm ET

arby1   August 27th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

I stopped watching CNN back during Desert Storm when Wolf was not censured. However, regarding this commentary…body language aside, what you heard from Hillary's tongue was a touchy-feely speech that offered nothing concrete – the same deficiency she shares with Obama's candidacy. 80% was centered squarely on 'Me/Myself & I' and 20% was "Oh yeah, and I support Obama, so too should you". As we all know, the devil of all political platforms is in the details. I'm thinking that perhaps she was handed the gilded puppet strings in exchange for the VP slot as she alluded that her previously unfulfilled visions (and rightly so) somehow matched Obama's goals–socialized health care, etc. Not once did I hear in that 20% of speech that she felt Obama owned solidly crafted goals with responsible paths to effect them, nor that he had what it takes to occupy the Oval Office.

Now, if you really want to talk body language, did you take a look at good ol' Billy when on camera(?)… blowing kisses, saying 'I love you' over and over, grinning like a Cheshire cat made me think he was going to wet himself. With the VP deal Hillary probably brokered his multitudes of on-camera shots…maybe that's what kept him in his seat so they didn't have to go searching for missing female staffers.

In today's politics, however, all the posturing about numbers of houses and buying adjacent property is meaningless as there hasn't been a 'clean' politician since the dawn of politics – it's the nature of the beast. Each one "bests" or "worsts" the next. We do need, however, to discern where the personality/character flaws impact our true future. I can't find a candidate who reflects my positions on issues dear to me. But in the end, I'd rather be guarded at 3:00 AM by a lion than a lamb.

Lisa   August 27th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

Was anyone paying attention to Michelle's face? This woman could not have looked more unhappy. She could have at least faked a smile while Hillary was sucking it up and endorsing Obama! Who cares if Hillary didn't blink as much as we wanted her too, or if he cheek bones were too high…she is out of the race! Focus on the people who are in it CNN.

–Hillary supporter, still deciding on Obama.

The ticker should read " What did Michelle Obama's body language reveal last evening?!!!!

Chris   August 27th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

After seeing her speech, the Democratic Party made a huge mistake in not making her the nominee

Marj   August 27th, 2008 5:45 pm ET

Too many "know it alls" in the media. The only thing not talked about is what the color of her undergarments meant on what she really wanted to say in her speech. Watch CSpan and think for yourself.

DJ Los Angeles   August 27th, 2008 5:45 pm ET

Wishful thinking by the big $ lobbyists and Republicans

JP2Feminist   August 27th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Hillary's body language???? PLEASE!!!! She is a Jennifer Granholm wanna-be!!! Compare the oratory skills of the governor of Michigan to those that Hillary morphed into, and you won't find much difference. Remember that Hillary took speech lessons during the primary race and finally found her hair style. JOKE IS ON US! Take a look at her on a "bad hair day." She's still the same ol' Hillary.

Shannon   August 27th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

More than what Clinton's body language said, we should look at the actions of the Obamas. They preach hope and change, they talk unity, but when Hillary Clinton called Michelle Obama after her speech, Mrs Obama wouldn't take the call. This is the same Mrs Obama, who was on the stage in her pretend voice trying to say we are all the same, and that the Obamas are all about uniting us. Who would vote for these phony people. Are NBC and CBS making the phone call situation up, I don't think so, did CNN make up the story about how Obama called all the VP choices on the short list personally, but left it to a staff member to call Hillary Clinton. One thing is certain with the Obamas, they will always say one thing and than do another. It's the only thing they won't flip flop on!

Russ   August 27th, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Good Lord, CNN! Quit letting the Republican pundits drive this event and let's move on! Enough already. Clinton did what she had to do and people will vote as they wish. They ALWAYS do that. This is a democracy. Get over it. Obama '08!

tito valentino   August 27th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Am an Obama supporter but hillary clinton won my heart yesterday. I no longer think the problem is from her or Barack Obama. THE MEDIA is the problem. They played her so as to lose and they are doing the same thing to Obama. God bless hillary clinton.

luketheduke   August 27th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

If the annointed one loses it is because someone convinced him to run without the necessary experience ……… she did all she could to help him.

Lisabeth   August 27th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

CNN is really losing its edge. I used to come here every day to read all of the articles. Now I am very disillusioned with the lack of objectivity in their reporting. They are constantly looking for headlines, anything to stir the pot, even if it doesn't exist. If they really want to be known as the best political team on television, they would not be so sensational. If you are tired of this, head to C-SPAN or PBS – you won't miss it.

Your coverage CNN has felt very disrespectful to the Democratic party and to Barack Obama and really to Hillary Clinton. Is the person who wrote this piece of trash a psychologist specializing in interpreting body language? It is a joke.

King George   August 27th, 2008 5:40 pm ET

I watched CSPAN the whole time and some time switched to CNN to see that CNN tended to show commentaries instead of the speeches.

MSNBC had better commentaries by Keith Oberman and Rachael Maddow. In the end, all these TV stations are businesses making business decisions to keep people watching.

The beauty of it is that you get to make your own decision about what to believe. I appreciate free speech and support non-profit orgs for that matter.

Enough with the obvious. Analyzing Hilliary's body language is too little too late now. What else do we expect her to say? I'm no expert but I sense that she has not fully recovered from the frustration and loss from the primaries. She's a person and not machine that can switch emotion on demand.

Cool – you're right – Bill is fun to watch when there's no microphone. His whole attitude shows in his face and his body. Ha ha ha

I like him, but he's in the past. Good advisor on some things, but one can never know when he will veer off course (so to speak).

Chris   August 27th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

This is why I have switched to C-SPAN and stopped watching the coverage on CNN! Hillary delivered a sincere and unifying address last night. Stop looking for a division where there isn't one.

M. Bryan   August 27th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

Experts? Sounds more like plain old criticism to me, and a crock at that. If this is the best CNN has to offer, I will just have to get my
news from C-Span.

VS   August 27th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

Why don't we just ask her if this is true? Does her body language really explain her true feelings?

REG in AZ   August 27th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

The election campaigning has really become ugly, mainly emanating from the supporters and the rank and file rather than from the candidates themselves. The emotions are running high and for some, honesty, integrity and personal quality are not things that they want to be handicapped with. I loved what Richard Dreyfus said in expressing that all he wanted to see was the truth and a return to the high integrity that has been missing for some time. I agree with him that the only way for that to happen is to elect Barack Obama as the Republicans, spoiled by too much for too long, have become corrupt, grossly dishonest, arrogantly self-indulgent and without conscience, really cocky and exceedingly bold. I’m sure some of them will quietly take that as a compliment. The truth is, as you can see in these blogs, as you see in the slander and false attacks and just in the garbage that is used to avoid dealing with the real issues and the candidates honest positions, the quality has been literally reduced to a gutter level. The trouble is that the media loves it and how it helps their ratings, so they feed it rather than exposing it for what it is. I would hope that the public could see through all of it and then view it with disgust and condemnation, giving their support to the candidate running the higher quality campaign. I don’t know if that is happening though, as consistent with one of Karl Rove’s philosophies, the offenders just keep saying it boldly, loudly and often, intending to sway some even though it isn’t the truth. The real trouble is that the Republican arrogant and unconscionable self-serving ways will only get worse should they win and we will not only have more of the same (Bush-Cheney policies) we experienced over the last eight years but they will be emboldened and the average American will loose even more ground. What needs to happen is that each voter looks inside of themselves and when they are exposed to the garbage and the attempts to manipulate their thinking, they recognize it, reject it and instead become disciplined to objectively and rationally make their own decisions based on the real issues. If that can’t happen, if the average American can’t intelligently discern what is actually garbage offered with the intent to deceive them, then we may be destined to a continuing Republican dominance and a progressively deteriorating status for the average American. And by the way, the average American category also includes most Republicans who are not of the select few but rather are those who are sold the idea that ‘conservative’ is good and represents benefits only for Special Interests and a select few, and that ‘liberalism’ is bad even when it benefits most Americans and in part is aimed at bringing up those who are down, enabling them to join and help in a productive economy benefiting everyone.

this is Fox New nonsense. what is with yout 24 hour newsies and these ridiculous "body language" stories. this is not news and all it serves it so add an element of opinion that doesn't need to be added to an already opinion-laden style of news reporting.

Stop with these stupid stories.

dodo   August 27th, 2008 5:32 pm ET

As the author of this nonsonse ,I think you're an idiot. Why do you keep creating nonexisting controversisies, you can't think of something more relevant to write about that is going to help voters decide? Or maybe you're just as dumb as some people and so it es easy for you to write tabloid news and dwell on stupid coverages rather than focusing on complex issues that really affect and will continue to affect people's lives when this election is over. Please stop the nonsense!!

Paula, CA   August 27th, 2008 5:32 pm ET

I am proud of Hillary Clinton, I think she pulled it off last night! I am glad that the Democrats are showing strong signs of unity. However, please let's not be naive, Hillary Clinton gave that speech for Hillary Clinton's political future as much as she did for Obama (if not more).

Also, the fact remains that Hillary ran a slimy campaign and she had to pick up after HER MESS. She did not do Obama any favors! Obama owes her nothing! In fact, she should have done more before now. HOWEVER, in reference to last night's speech, she did as much as she could in that speech and for that, the true Democrats thank her.

Obama/Biden '08

anonymous   August 27th, 2008 5:32 pm ET

I agree Hillary was up there for herself. At least Michelle Obama sends a sincere message. She will be a genuine first lady. At least Michelle Obama supports good family values and it shows. Her children are adorable.

Nancy   August 27th, 2008 5:32 pm ET

I switched from Fox News Network during the primary season to CNN. Fox is totally biased. So now I am finding CNN creating doubts in almost every story. Stop trying to create problems. The media is a powerful tool. Stirring up trouble with your what ifs and maybe's will not help America solve her problems. Be truthful and just report the news. Otherwise we might as well switch to MSNBC next.

A CANUCK   August 27th, 2008 5:31 pm ET

Botox will do that to your smile. All kidding aside, anyone who claims to have voted for Hillary during the primary based on her stances on the issues of the day and is now saying they will vote for McCain is a complete joke of an American… not to mention a liar. There, I said it. That would be like a Red Sox fan rooting for their team to beat the Angels in the playoffs, then rooting for the Yankees over the Angels once the Angels beat the Sox. Follow me? Doesn't make any sense. McCain is the Yankees in this scenario. If you hate what the Yankees stand for, you don't all of the sudden up and root for them because they're playing the team that beat your Red Sox! I don't get it people!

WHAT NEXT CNN ?? And why the hell should she emote for Obama? He is treating her like dirt and you expect her to fall at his feet ? Just because he is OBAMA THE GREAT !!!
Just for a second imagine if she got the nomination and had treated Obama the way he is treating her , would the reaction be the same??

I am hoping Bill Clinton wil lgive them a piece of his mind .

A suggestion for CNN – You should probably change into a Daytime soap opera channel cos there is no news happening from your end anymore.

Shanti   August 27th, 2008 5:29 pm ET

Why does the media feel compelled to write this kind of drivel? Does analyzing Hillary's body language and giving it a negative spin really help this electoral process? It only creates more divisiveness. Part of the change we need in this world is for the media to change, to become totally responsible for the power and influence your words hold. Let people decide for themselves in their own guts and hearts how they felt about her speech. Don't waste my TV and internet time with all of the projection and useless, endless, speculation that goes on. I don't need your opinions. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE for the unnecessary negativity you spin out into the world!

Cheri   August 27th, 2008 5:29 pm ET

All of you PUMA people need to get a grip. This country cannot afford 4 years of Bush's sidekick running the show.

MediumSizedRob   August 27th, 2008 5:28 pm ET

What a shock this would be his opinion. Hillary has never been known for being extremely emotive in the first place. We don't need a "body language expert" to tell us this kind of thing.

This does not sound to me like it is a party united. It smacks of something far more divisive!

JJ in NY   August 27th, 2008 5:27 pm ET

No big surprise….. everybody knows that billary is undermining Obama's chance of becoming president. The clintons are doing everything to scuttle Obama in the hopes of McCain winning in 2008 so she would have the chance to rerun in 2012… and to hell with the democratic party and to hell with America and all the American people …… for the clintons, the end justifies the means…. anything that gets them elected king & queen .

Francisco Cardenas   August 27th, 2008 5:27 pm ET

The body language expert is full of himself. She did a great job … far better than Obama deserved!

true democrat   August 27th, 2008 5:23 pm ET

Wow! "Crocodile smile"… are you kidding me? She gave an amazing speech that centered around supporting Obama and argued she had not spent her career trying to evoke social changes to hand the white house over to Republicans during times like these. Give the woman some credit. Let's see how long the MEDIA can keep the dems divided.

Matt   August 27th, 2008 5:22 pm ET

James Linney   August 27th, 2008 5:20 pm ET

Jeeze, how lame. It was a great speech, body and all. You need to get a real life (or a real job).

Ted Kennedy when he lost to Jimmy Carter wouldn't even shake his hand.
She did a great job last night so everyone stop the complaining.

ajhbeauty   August 27th, 2008 5:18 pm ET

I'm a Clinton supporter to the end and i deeply feel that she has done her part into unifying the democratic party again but I was never big into voting for Obama and has never thought about switching parties because of the way i felt about a candidate even if i felt that he wasn't prepared enough to take office but I think of it like this, for the last eight years our nation has been lacking in true leadership and has been turned upside down. I can't see myself voting for someone (McCain) whom basis his whole political ideology on the similar actions of Bush mainly for the fact that since he has been is office our country has became weakened and crippled. So I would rather vote for someone whom understands the fact that our nation is in need of real change and who wants to attempt to be a real leader to our country and that is why i am voting for Obama, i take it as a chance that we all need to take, if you are as tired as i am from the last eight years of chaos with Bush, its time to be out with the old, and in with new. It took a democrat(Clinton) to fix what the first Bush did and it's going to take another democrat(Obama) to fix what this Bush has ruined!
In regards to CNN, I believe that having someone analyze a person's body language is ridiculous that's makes CNN be as pathetic as most of these awful gossip magazines. To me it feels as a ploy to make the Hiliary Clinton, can't be a humble woman and do what it takes to unify her party.

YOLANDA   August 27th, 2008 5:18 pm ET

NEARLY A HALF OF DEMOCRATS ARE DEPRESSED AND SAD TODAY AFTER THE REAL PRESIDENT OF PEOPLE DROPPED OUT OF THE RACE YESTERDAY SHATTERING HOPES OF THE ONLY CHANCE TO SEE A WOMAN PRESIDENT IN THIS COUNTRY

CONGRATUALTION CNN AND THE REST OF THE MEDIA WHO FACILITATED THIS TO HAPPEN. WE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS JUST LIKE WE WILL NEVER FORGET 911

BUT JUST LIKE HILLARY SAID WE WILL KEEP GOING..NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL SHE WILL BE THE PRESIDENT IN 2012
AND I AM A BLAK WOMAN JUST LIKE THE ONE CNN INTERVIEWED YESTERDAY AFTER HIALLRY'S SPEECH

WE WILL STAND BEHIND YOU HIALLRY YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION

Muskratjim   August 27th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

Wow, what an emotional reaction by the clintaholics!

Analyzing body language is a recognized scientific endeavor. It requires no more subjectivity than listening to the tone of someone's voice. These are trained professionals making educated observations. The majority of what we comprehend is based upon body language and nonverbal communication, not the spoken word. Most of the major news networks have been looking at this for quite some time.

I'm really amazed that someone can even read Hillary at all as she has been so scripted and mechanized throughout the whole primary season. Obama is much less guarded in his physical expressions. He's actually kind of fun to watch. I'm really more concerned about where all the $ is going to come from to run these programs they are offering. Bottom line is I stopped looking for answers from Washington many years ago and would be pleasantly shocked if anything good comes out of the Beltway.

Peter Carrico   August 27th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

You have got to be kidding me! Reading her body language in her face, for God's sake, give me a break. You have no idea how she felt , she convinced me by her words and actions that she was sincere, she is no fool. Stop trying to read into everything and report the news as it is, this foolishness of talking heads dissecting and pontificating everything is disgusting, and that is why I don't watch any news anymore that is not live and or raw footage, too many phonies out there mostly on CNN and Fox!

Hillary all the way   August 27th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

Hillary did what she had to do, and she did it with grace and dignity. Unfortunately, the Obama supporters (and Hill must one of them) won't give her the credit she deserves. The reason so many of her supporters are having trouble going to "the other side" is because the Obamites have debased and demonized the Clintons and their supporters.

The Cat   August 27th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

I saw the body-language analyst on GMA. He had nothing but positive things to say about Michelle O, despite the pursed lips and angry frown. It was absurd, as she looked like Cruella. He even compared Michelle's style to Jackie-O's. What a COS! I am so relieved that there are others out there also thinking how trashy and useless our news sources have become.

knowing   August 27th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Dear Hillary supporters,

I'm netiher a Hillary or Barack supporter (still undecided) but I have a question. Can someone PLEASE outline exactly what experience Hillary has. I live in New York and don't know anyone who can recount one thing she has accomplished as our junior Senator. I can remember her coming down to Ground Zero after 9/11 to take pictures but that's about it.

Not being annoying, just trying to become more educated. Thanks!

Dierdre   August 27th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Who gives a crap what her body language had to say – she was only up there for her own applause – she just can't seem to get it through her head that she is NOT a candidate, that the people DID NOT VOTE for her – she just loves all the media attention just like her husband. Let's hope her daughter has her own sense of common sense and doesn't follow in her parent's footstesps.

Mere from Michigan   August 27th, 2008 5:12 pm ET

Look, she can't change the vote. If she didn't think she had more experience and would make a better president she would not have run. She did an outstanding job of presenting the case that we can vote for Obama or McCain neither one is particularly exciting. McCain is not an honorable person and Obama has no real track record to judge; so it comes down to party, do you want four more years of Republicans based on what they have done in the last eight years, or take a chance on Obama and the democrats who at least gave us eight years of prosperity before Bush.

McCain voted AGAINST aid to Children of Domestic Violence.

McCain voted AGAINST Emergency Funding for Victims of Hurricane Katrina.

McCain voted AGAINST funding law enforcement.

McCain wants to bring back the DRAFT.

McCain voted WITH Bush/Cheney 90% of the time.

McCain voted AGAINST the Webb'sGI Bill.

McCain voted AGAINST funding the VA for our Vets.

Overall, the Democratic Party is uniting – whether you like it or not!

Obama / Biden 2008!!!

Hillary's "body language" is was EXACTLY what it ALWAYS is— stiff, not emotional, and coming off as slightly insincere! That's the way her face is made, I guess.

Her fans have been telling us for months that she is really emotional and human DEEP DOWN– so that means her body language is no different now.

Did Hill mention that? No, he's another biased phony pundit.

NR MD   August 27th, 2008 5:04 pm ET

FCNN. What I mean False CNN. CNN, You can interpret whatever you want. You are the worst media, sometimes worse than FOX. All news media analysis of CNN should be banned. I used follow only CNN until this primary. Last two times Dems lost election because of CNN talking too much about gay issues and abortion issues. You have never talked about Education, internet, health care and economy etc. Now you do not know what to talk about other than concentrating and analyzing Clintons. Please concentrate on real issues American facing now. Not on individuals and parties.

Ok folks…….I am sick and tired of all of the pundit's comments, and picking Hillary and her speech apart, as if they were vultures, tearing flesh from a dead carcuss!!!! As far as Hill's comments on Hillary's "body language", what a CROCK of crap!!! Have you no decency? Have you no shame???!!! SHAME on YOU, for trying to keep up the negatives…..they have no place, in the democratic party…..it is because of people like you, who keep the fires stoked, that those of us who really believe that she is in fact the BEST candidate and hope for the democratic party this fall, continue to be skeptic of being able to take back the Whitehouse, in November!!!! It is time to unite, as one party, one voice, and for one candidate, and that candidate is now Obama. The people have spoken, Hillary has spoken, and thrown her full support behind Barack….what the hell more do you people want?!!! Keep it up, and we will get our guts full and just not vote, come November. I am sick of all of the negatives, and the comments of the comments of the analogies……get a life, and find someone else to pick apart, like say, maybe, John McCain!!! You should be ashamed of yourself, and I hope it comes back on you tenfold, sir!!!

Desmond Sequeira   August 27th, 2008 5:00 pm ET

With whatever respect is due to this body language "expert", her body language was obviously not "gushy" but it was no different to the body language she has had throughout the primaries. Except, this time she was electrifyingly positive!

Mike   August 27th, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Have we really reached an all time low where a Bill O'Reilly segment is now a topic on a "news" site. FOR SHAME

shamsa   August 27th, 2008 4:59 pm ET

I think some plastic surgery was done this summer, she looked extremely well rested and a little stiff around the mouth

John in Ohio   August 27th, 2008 4:59 pm ET

People who say "McCain 2008″ and claim to be Hillary supporters disrespect her and everything she stands for, everything she has fought for, and everything she believes in. People who say "McCain 2008 – Hillary 2012″ do not care about the families and the children who will need healthcare between 2008 and 2012. They do not care about the people who will die in McCain's wars, as people have died in Bush's wars. They do not care about the people who will lose their jobs and their homes in that four year period.

In other words, people who say "McCain 2008″ are Republicans. There is no place for shortsighted hatred and a thirst for vengeance in the Democratic Party, that is the drug that the Republicans peddle

SaraDallas   August 27th, 2008 4:59 pm ET

A 'body language' expert? Oh Please what a dumb article. Come on CNN! This is the kind of cheesy story I'd expect to see on Bill O'Reilly's dumb show.

how about:

What did Clintons hairdo reveal that could be interpreted against Obama?
Or what about her shoes – I believe they were suspicious!
And the color of her dress – the message is right there: she is not endorsing Obama.
Oh boy ..

Lesley   August 27th, 2008 4:58 pm ET

It's clear to me from the blogs that CNN and Fox will be the losers in this election. I've pretty much gone over to C-SPAN/PBS for convention coverage. I still watch some cable news though, but when I do, I see that it's business as usual. The talking heads give their opinions while the networks vie for the best spin on the story. The political teams should reign in these commentators and not agree or disagree but rather report. Fair and balanced seems to mean that they are unworthy to report news for either side, not just one. I suppose anything not worth doing is not worth doing well.

Independent   August 27th, 2008 4:58 pm ET

Oh, I forgot something….CNN you didn't break it first on saying that Biden had the nod….Andrea Mitchell told Brian Williams on the evening news that it was going to be Biden….

With all this junk CNN has been putting forth, I have gone to MSNBC for my Convention news….I just come over to state my case and tell you what I think….BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kamasri   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

Body language… well it is indicative of her staunch supporters as well. Watch the clip of Mellissa with Spike lee. Here is a jounalist dissing Spike lee with her face toeward him but body away from him…

Confused   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

When did CNN become a mouthpiece for the Republican party? This is such a stupid story…wonder how many "body experts" they had to go through to get one with a negative slant.

me   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

CNN hearts Obama forever

Somebody's got a Crush!!!

Michelle, PA   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

I keep saying CNN has turned into just another tabloid. Then I come back to see if there's any news today….and you prove me right. Here's news: I watch 100% of my convention coverage on C-Span. Nobody tells me what I should watch, what I should think about it, or tries to bombard me with endless commercails for the candidates and ED meds.

Sue   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

She said it right during the primaries: BO is not ready to be president.

Because of this awful lying politics, Hillary can never be president. The country would have respected her more if she had stuck to her guns. She knows just like most of the rest of the country that BO would foil this country badly at home and abroad. And the fact that she would say something else in the name of politics is not acceptable from any American statesman/stateswoman.

Thomas   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

When did CNN become FOX light?

Jbo915   August 27th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

Body language? I feel like I'm reading an article from the FOX network.

Get over it already.

Kim   August 27th, 2008 4:56 pm ET

Unbelievable…body lanuage as a news discussion? I am very disappointed with CNN. I have been trying very hard to convince my parents to switch to CNN for fair and balance news, but it seems as though you are just like FOX news. So they might as well continue to watch FOX which I consider sometimes to be unfair and unbalanced.

modog   August 27th, 2008 4:56 pm ET

Your all a bunch of delusional wrecks. Of course she doesn't fully endorse anyone but herself. Of course her body movements will tell you that. If you didnt know that already you are truly dreaming. DEMS=Looney. Got it.

Dave   August 27th, 2008 4:52 pm ET

Wow. That's some really hard hitting journalism there. CNN has finally become the TV news equivalent of the E Network.

Angel   August 27th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

CNN, what is wrong with you? This is a gossipy, blatant attempt to undermine Clinton, Obama and real sense and loyalty to the Democratic party. Maybe you should call yourself US Magazine instead?

Vickie   August 27th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

You have got to be kidding! What a crock! Just more of the same Hillary bashing the media has been engaged in since forever. This is considered newsworthy? I agree with other viewers – what's next, an astrologer?!?! Get a grip, CNN. And here I thought you were better than Fox…..

She supports Obama, I support Obama – we can't possibly survive another 4 more years of Republican fiscal recklessness, environmental destruction, health care denial and foreign policy blunders. Hillary was my first choice, but we CANNOT elect McCain.

Steve   August 27th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

Hill has suffered enough at your expense! SO have we,her supporters.

S Robinson   August 27th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Hill was right on target. I read Hillary's body language just as he did. she spoke words that might just as well not been spoken because she was not sincere.

Barbie   August 27th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

It is very serious that someone on the CNN News at the Convention is to report about Hillary's behavior. Do not be afraid to Speak UP !! There has to be honesty spoken out. I can see that the "women " behind her …are so blinded and deaf….not waking up what she is doing behind our backs !! She is a "agitator" who lies…to stir up trouble at the campaign. Dean and the committee had warned her to leave. She has stirred up so much trouble with her stubbornness being so defiant. Now she is asking for the Roll Call. Obama is already the candidate to run for President ! They should have made her leave !!! She did not have the money. Huckabee left without a complaint knowing that he had no more money !! The Republicans asked Mitt Romney to leave..he left very polite. The Campaign is to tell her right now with Dean to get off the platform. She may be destroying our Democratic Party already. The McCain women have voiced this last night and do notice this problem of hers.PLEASE DO REPORT THIS RIGHT NOW !!! Do not have the roll call tonight !! It has to be removed. She has lied saying she was for Obama last night !

MD in GA   August 27th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

I don't know much about body language but it's clear she doesn't like Senator Obama. Her speech last night was her way of trying to save her place in the Democratic party.

Here's the thing though. The majority of AA voters (that 90% no news stations ever bother to mention anymore) will never vote for her if Senator Obama loses this election. We are a different people than we were 40 to 50 years ago. We will no go along to get along. We will NOT allow anyone to help distroy the first viable AA candidates chances at the Presidency then vote for her 4 years later.

If she blows this, she will never, ever, get the Black vote and therefore NEVER get elected to the Presidency… How bout that…

Pat Clarke   August 27th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

This is why she lost, because she always appears phony. Her platform and Obama's are nearly identical, but she lost because never comes across as sincere.

JoseyJ   August 27th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

Hillary's speech was all about electing a Dem to the WH – and she was superb!
More superb than Obama deserves.

Looks like CNN is still using the Clintons to boost CNN ratings with this ridiculous article.

PUMA
Dems for McCain!

Ian   August 27th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

Im going to write for the dissent here when I say I think this is a valid and newsworthy story. There is very much a split in party unity, I see it on my own street here in suburban california! While pop psychology like this is probably over doing it, I think they have the right idea. Hillary probably does not have her heart in an Obama presidency. We must admire her, however, for putting her heart and focus on the issues she believes in, and fought for. He unselfishly is trying to unify the party behind her opponent whom she lost too, because she believes things have to change. Even for me, however, its not enough. Sorry Obama, I will be staying home on election day.

Max   August 27th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

That is a normal smile for her "croc" like.

JMarie   August 27th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

As a 50+ woman who has watched her closely, I was hoping that by now she had worked through her loss and was on-board. While I don't think it was intentional, her excitement over her campaign was clear, her commitment to Obama lukewarm. She is still grieving from the loss.

Chut Pata   August 27th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

As much as I would hate the Clintons, I think this time on she was as close to honesty as a Clinton can.

All her body language said was that she was swollowing a bitter pill. She did not like the taste, but she knew that was the right thing.

Phil   August 27th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

I pray that there is a coup and Hillary gets the nomination. I would love to see the dems squirm!

NORA, FLORIDA   August 27th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

CNN JUST LEAVE IT ALONE. HER BODY LANGUAGE WAS LIKE THAT OF A TIGER WHEN SOMEONE MESSES WITH THE CUBS. SHE WAS NOT HAVING ANY OF IT. GO HILLARY GO!!!! GO OBAMA GO!!!! GO DEMS GO!!!

Humberto   August 27th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

This is my body language: The DNC should scrap Obamas nomination now! before it's too late to win the whiteHouse. No one can change Obama's history and inexperience, no one will vote for him on that premise. Looks like Obama had much more to do with Ayer's (The Pentagon Bomber) then he led on, looks like he surrounds his self and is attracted to many unsavory characters.

Democrat for McCain if Clinton is not the nominee

Mark   August 27th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Anyone who voted for Hillary and is now saying they will vote for McCain, is either a racist, a sore loser, or a Republican. If you call yourself a Democrat and vote Republican out of spite because Hillary didn't win, you should just move to another country because America should not have it's decisions made by you. YOU are what is wrong with this country.

Tony   August 27th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

It was an analysis of the delivery and why is that not as important as an analysis of the "talking points", or simply the words used?

Catherine   August 27th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Of course her body language wasn't jumping for joy. The speech was in essence a concession speech

Delle Jacobs   August 27th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

You're right about what you saw, but I think you've mis-interpreted it. Hillary will carry a deep disappointment all her life at not winning the nomination, and on this occasion she had to get up before her entire party as well as her constituents and publicly acknowledge by her speech that her dream did not come true. What she did was an amazing feat, and very few of us could have wanted something as badly as she did, but acknowledge not getting it with as much grace as she did. And if she didn't show some disappointment in this, I would have concerns about her mental health. She's not made of wood. She was behaving in the way a normal, healthy but very disappointed person would behave.

Her disappointment, though, is not necessarily animosity against Obama. She has the intelligence to comprehend she had not entitlement to the nomination, and when a person runs for an office like this, the risk is very high that success won't come with it. Hillary is sorry it's him and not her, but that doesn't mean she hates him for it. He won it and she didn't. That hurts. So what if it shows in her face? That's a show of honesty and humanity on her part.

Charlotte   August 27th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

I just hope when you guys cover the repub convention, you do (and then put on this webpage) things like body language analysis of Romney when he speaks about John McCain, seeing that he sure did not speak well of him when they were running against each other. Does he REALLY mean he thinks John McCain is the best candidate? And what does McCain REALLY mean when he does that messed up grimace that he calls a smile?

Next, go out on the floor, find the craziest audience member (crying, usually) and ask them their opinion on world events, the political party, the convention itself. Now broadcast your footage of the crazy person AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN, as though that person is a political expert and you take his or her opinion seriously.

Now your coverage of the repub convention will begin to be similar to that of the democratic convention.

Ron from Bel Air   August 27th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I was counting the number of cricket cricks during Sen Hilton's speech. Nearly always, the higher the count, the more suggestive it is of the Administration taking some Constitutionally ambiguous action, and getting away with it. Moments after he talk began in Denver, the number of cricks went sky high, in obvious agreement were they with the whole animal and insect kingdom, that the Democrats have had it. I don't know what the Republicans had going on, but I know it wasn't good for Hillary or Obama.

Take that, body language-reading CNN.

andy   August 27th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

This article is not worth the ink that was used to write it. CNN=National Enquirer. You are starting to sound like a tabloid newspaper. Report the news and stories like it is and its up to the viewers to decide. Don't bring your biased view and shove it down our throat. The balance of a news story is to be reported on every story, not CNN=left and Fox News=right. Your reportes are too busy looking for substance in news and political speeches when they have no substance in their own writing.

Charles Lewis   August 27th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

Where was the body expert when Bush and Cheney were lying about WMDs, torture, and wiretapping?

Obama/Biden   August 27th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

No way, No How, No McCain. Obama has served and earned this nomination by compaigning against his opponent for 19 months. If you think that he stole it I am asking you where have you being during the primary season. Enough of this nonsense and if you are a true Democrat with value you cannot dare stay home or vote for McCain. After all this convention and the election the way you vote will hunt and hurt you for many years in your pockets and the future of this nation. We cannot afford having the US carying its white plate to China and beg them for money. This has never happen before in our history but under this republican government. Having McCain in for four more years we will be begging China for more money and we will face great deception from them.

Liz T, Tucson   August 27th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

This is no longer a news network! One can't even watch the convention, just the pundits. When I think about the beginnings of CNN during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, I am dismayed at what you have become. It's PBS and CSPAN for me from now on.

Tim Tate   August 27th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Hillary Clinton's speech is already directed toward 2012,
although she did pledge her support to the democratic
party and lastly to Obama since he is the democratic
nominee!

This woman's burning desire to reside in the whitehouse
again comes out in her every appearance and she will not
stop for anyone and/or anything to once again have that
address! ( Not even Willie)

Amber   August 27th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

her speech was so good that journalists have to resort to this (body language) to try and find something negative to say.

Ana   August 27th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Well CNN, i THANK you for this insightful commentary. I think its enormously relevant; i said the same to my boyfriend yesterday, while watching her speech; her words may have said "x," but every other communicative measure she has – including her body language, and also the giant Clinton Banner in the background – said otherwise.

She had to make that speech as a requirement. It was, in my opinion, aimed at her supporters (the PUMAs, the other die-hards) that will follow along sheepishly to whatever she instructs – and she instructed unity (not because she wanted to, but because she had to). She could've displayed a better game face for this speech.

For those of us that can see the forest from the trees, her message was loud and clear: I'm not happy, and I wanted this convention to be about me. A video tribute to Hillary for her historic run? Please. Last night could not have been more about the Clintons, Hillary in particular. at least you guys really emphasized that words are not the sole communicating factor. Again, thank you.

Babs   August 27th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

People get a life and leave Mrs. Clinton alone. Enough is enough.

Andrew   August 27th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

I cant believe this is even being reported. Body language isn't even a soft science. If you ask me its just a bunch of bull cooked up to try to milk this party disunity topic for all its worth.

Gross Story!!   August 27th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

I agree that it must be a slow news day for this to be used. Pathetic. excuse for reporting.

I saw her speech and I thought she gave an enthusiastic endorsement of Obama. Dissecting her smile? Geez, what more do you want the woman to do? All the tv analysts were saying before she came on that no one losing the nomination has ever before done as much as she already has done for Obama.

Anita from Arizona   August 27th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Who says you have to love the candidate to vote for them???? It's the policies he stands for. CNN is begging for four more years of the same Bush/McCain thats running this country into the ground. Way to find a story where there isn't one. I excepted better from you, CNN. If I wanted pyschic readings, I'll watch Dione Warwick and her pyschic friends.

edward Cistolo   August 27th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

I saw a media piece today re: Hillary's body language during her speech last evening. She was compared to Michelle Obama's body language during her speech the night before at the dem convention. The first thing I noticed in the comparison was the height of the podium during their respective speeches. You could not see Hillary below mid chest, Michelle on the other hand could be seen from waist high. You could see her arm and hand movements but you could see the same on Hillary.
Are we that shallow that we "have" to find something wrong before we can say something nice? Cut Hillary a break, she made nice nice, so let's move forward. The USA needs us to move forward.

Jon   August 27th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Bev   August 27th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

CNN…. give it up already. Why not dicuss the clothes she was wearing. Was the color right? Yawn……

Lou Anthony   August 27th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Leaders of the Democratic Party, including the Obama camp, must have been pulling out their hair after watching Hillary's amazing speech and the electrifying reception she received. Hillary rocks! As a Hillary supporter, I watched her speech with tears rolling from my eyes. Tears not only of appreciation of her speech but tears of deep regret for losing the opportunity to make her our next president. Through her speech, she showed friends and foes alike how a brilliant and capable president she would have become for this great nation. The injustice that the democratic party committed against Hillary and her supporters will never be forgotten. Hillary, I love you! For the first time in my life, I will be voting for a republican in November. Yes, McCain looks much better, capable, trustworthy, experienced, and honorable than Barack Obama. I will wait Hillary's run in 2012. McCain 2008. Hillary 2012/2016.

Wow! Let it go CNN! CNN couldn't find any major things to criticize Hillary Clinton on in her speech supporting Obama and calling for Democratic party unity. Therefore CNN is now trying to examine the body language of Hillary Clinton to discourage unity within the Democratic Party.

Sorry CNN, FOX News has you beat. Trying to compete against FOX News on similiar terms will only belittle your network even further.

Body language analysis? Let's try analyzing McCain's often wrongly-timed smile – now that's some scary expression.

lancecoardill   August 27th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Words, words, words, that's all we've heard from Democrats. Body language and demonstrating that this party can actually articulate, and stick to, an agenda is what will sway the American voters. Obama's an empty suit, Hillary should have been the nominee.

JC   August 27th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Do you need an aura reader on your CNN Journalism Staff??? Or are all of those positions filled?

Eric   August 27th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

Why does the media have to keep perpetuating this trumped up fued between Clinton and Obama? Clinton has said that she stands behind Obama. Black and white. Report it just like that. When you make up this stupid body language junk, you're looking too deeply into something that at this point should be a non-issue. Give it up. We don't care! Report on something that matters.

Mike from Carolina   August 27th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

Never in a hundred years would I have expected CNN to stoop to this level in its' quest to cast negative aspersions and suggestions. The idea of input from a "body language expert" doesn't make this story any more credible. It's mind reading and a long, long ways from real journalism. If it will help you, I'm a BS expert and in that area, this is top grade.
You should be ashamed of this.

Helene   August 27th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Oh PLEASE! Really??? I have been overcome by the tedious, relentless ANALysis pouring out of CNN. Anything to tear. Anything to subvert. Anything to annoy. Anything to avoid real reporting and real information! Sheesh!

I have been very very angry at Hillary since the primary, but practically all of that was washed away and respect restored when she asked, "Were you in it for me?"…That was exactly the question that I have been asking since she bowed out. She was CLEAR. You, CNN, are pathetic.

Craig   August 27th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

CNN…please just stop. We know you have such a love affair with Hillary that you can't stop but drone on and on about it.

You have got to be kidding me. Giving time to this instead of looking into the candidate's issues?

Come on.

Vlasta   August 27th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

Adam   August 27th, 2008 4:32 pm ET

This could quite possibly be one of the most ridiculous items I have ever seen on a media website. And we wonder why American politics have become what they are today.

Lynn Pembroke Pines   August 27th, 2008 4:32 pm ET

CNN this is ridiculous. Body language experts and research pertaining to body language has not been proven to be the same for all people.

I think CNN is a republician supporting news group. This is proof they just want to keep the democrats down.

Concerned Reader   August 27th, 2008 4:32 pm ET

this is a big joke. i can't believe they actually consulted a body language expert. Olbermann made big fun of this practice a couple months ago on Countdown. I thought Hillary was great and got her message across. She looked like she mormally does – she is not an overly emotional woman. pleae no more body language analyses. concentrate on real issues!!!

DJ Los Angeles   August 27th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

* gasp * wow you are really DESPERATE to try to create controversy or look for any needle in a haystack to promote drama that isn't there. The Democrats are united. Don't believe all the hype.

Jearlean McKenzie   August 27th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

It is not her place to get him votes.. I would vote for her in a minute but not him.. We do not know what he stands for. I am not against him because he is black because i would vote forColon Powell in a minute

elle   August 27th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

And what did the body language of the other Convention speakers reveal? HRC should then be compared to the other speaker's body language analysis. If not, then CNN is just being sexist. Especially if the person performing the body language analysis is a MAN.

BillShneiderDaMan   August 27th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

At first I was going to vote for Obama, but CNN's body expert really convince me that I should vote for McCain. This is why I trust and watch CNN. Thank you for your great investigative journalism.

Mary   August 27th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

I Will NEVER in MY LIFETIME vote for A OBAMA!

I do not care what kind of speech Hillary gave, and yes it was great but the way she and her campaign people and the 18 million voters have been treated and talked trash about.
NO WAY NO HOW
NO OBAMA

You can't expect her to support such an unqualified candidate and I will Not Support One NEITHER.

MCCAIN 08
HILLARY 2012

Peter   August 27th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

CNN is succeeding at least in part in what it is trying to do for the Republicans.

Very disappointing to see Hillary supporters mistakenly equate CNN's Republican spin (or any other journalists' spin) for the views of Obama's campaign.

Hillary lost my vote during the primaries because she got so wrapped up in finding a way to win that she lost sight of the harm she was doing to her party and what all Democrats stand for. But what she said last night was clearly a sincere call for her supporters to recognize that an Obama presidency will do a lot more to advance the causes she and her supporters stand for than would a McCain presidency. She did a fabulous job both of re-evaluating what is really important in the election and why and of explaining that in a way that should be understood by those who are still feeling the sting of her coming in second in a close primary run.

Don't fall into the CNN trap of trying to foster discord and controversy to prop up its ratings and inflated view of its own importance. Journalists as "wanna be" celebrities and ratings junkies are ruining the news business and providing the platform for the politics or hate.

Listen to what Hillary said and take it to heart. It represented the very best of her, and a genuine effort to do what is best for the country.

Michael   August 27th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

So what do you expect? Like anyone else who started the race (Democrat and Republican), she is disappointed. However, this does not mean that she has not fully backed the party's choice for candidate. I trust that the same nonsense issues will be raised during the GOP convention about their also rans? Of course not. McShame/McSame/McWhatsisname is the status quo and the media and big business always support the status quo. Notice how NBC evening news has chosen to run a series of "old age is glorious" during the DemCon? Not that subtle. We're not all stupid.

Carol   August 27th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

I,m a democrat and CNN is no longer my Home Page…

Laura   August 27th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

I'm confused. Do we have to love Obama to vote for him?

Richard   August 27th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Sounds like CNN's usual anti-Clinton attacks

bob in LA   August 27th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

LMAO!!!! CNN- your numbers up!
I hopwe you reads thesae postings!
Right on guys!!!

MD   August 27th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Let me make it clear: I am not a Hillary Clinton fan. In fact I don't like the Clintons. Period.

However, I think to disect Hillary to minute level is maniacal. There was nothing in her speech which lent itself to "smiles." She was basically telling the American people how much the Bush-McCain idea sucks.

I am sure if she had smiled while mentioning Obama's name, this idiot would have said that Hillary was making fun of him or was implying that Obama is a joke to smile at.

Give me a break CNN. Ever since Obama refued to fold under your pressure and let you break his VP nominee you have turned negative against the only hope we now have to salvage the honor of this country. McCane sure fooled you people with a coupel of steaks at his ranch.

Also, it is dispicable that you have agreed to run McCain's ads during the DNC Convention. You are no longer a news organization. You are a tabloid.

John From Illinois   August 27th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Of course her body language showed that. Look what the DNC is doing. Now they are staging a phony roll call vote with a scripted ending. Isn't the purpose of a roll call vote to have the delegates vote for who they think should be the candidate? No one should be telling the people how to vote; just have the vote and whoever wins is the candidate. You don't fix the vote and then setup some phony grandstanding stopping the vote and giving your delegates to the other candidate. What a crock and no one with half of a brain believes this garbage. The DNC knows the wrong candidate was chosen and they are afraid that Clinton would win a true role call vote. Totally unethical and fake.

Tony   August 27th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

She still lost.

Pat   August 27th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Good work, CNN. There was nothing in the text of the speech or in Hillary's delivery to give you something to create drama about, so you're going to bring in a "body language expert" to tell us that Hillary hates Obama. This is pretty terrible "reporting."

Trailsongs   August 27th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Guess you folks at CNN don't have enough to do.

D&D   August 27th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

CNN, what are you trying to prove here? Why go up to hire a body language expert? Why don't you just let it go?

I can't believe what you guys are doing…

Baze   August 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Her body language? Her BODY LANGUAGE? Ok, now I'm convinced that there's too much coverage of this race.

Tony   August 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

"The only thing she showed was a very weak smile, the cheeks didn't tend to lift very much, it was really almost what I would call a 'crocodile smile' where even the slight corners of the lips sometimes raise into a little bit of a smirk."

This is what her smile always looks like, so I guess she wasn't excited about her own candidacy either.

JAMEE K in ARK   August 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Please stop bashing the Clinton Supporters. I am on board for Obama because I am a Democrat first and then an Obama supporter. I was originally a Hillary supporter because I am an Arkansan and Bill is STILL a favorite son here and we will always support the Clinton's because they are great Americans and Arkansans. Not that I said that let me say this, Hillary said what is at stake is the future of our country and our children and she also said that she was in the race for the people who touched her that she felt she could help not for herself. If you are a Hillary Supporter and you want her agenda to move forward then we have to get over the hurt and move toward some middle ground. No way, No how, No McCain! How can we ignore our leader and her wishes to move to a more prosperous America. Obama supporters let us have our time and we will not "fall in line" but we will get over our anger and do what is truly best for America and that is VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN 08! Give us a chance to show we know what America needs but the more you agitate the more push back you will continue to get.

Missingrealnews   August 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Is there ever going to be any 'real' news available again? This is ridiculous and it's sad that you consider yourself reporters. You are really no different than the average paparazzi, with nothing valuable to say.

LewF   August 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Don't you have any shame at all about posting this kind of psychobabble?

only in your dreams   August 27th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Only in your dreams, I'm sorry to say, but without Hillary's full committment I think Obama is in trouble and I think Hillary is setting herself up for a run in 2012. Obama has no security experience, no leadership experience, no foreign policy experience and he picks Biden, another liberal tax monger, must control the people democrate. If Obama really wanted change instead on the regular washington status quo, he might of picked someone with a better background. I will now vote for McCain and more of the same, but its better that being taxed by a democrate

Chipster   August 27th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

OMG! This is really scraping the bottom of the STUPID Barrel! Body language – good grief! And what, please tell me, did reading her tea leaves and throwing bones tell you?

I watched and listened. Sen. Clinton was confident in her words, articulate in her phrasing, eloquent and forceful in her delivery, and adamant that McCain must not be allowed to extend the Bush damage to our nation.

'Nuff said!

Glenn, Cary, NC   August 27th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

I'm a body language expert myself. I know that a closed fist being extended rapidly toward my face expresses aggession. I know that an uplifted middle finger expresses contempt and I know that a big sloppy wet kiss on the lips expresses affection (or desire in some cases). I also know that writing a book about the supposed nuances of facial muscles and hand gestures as is they have profound meaning expresses self interest and insipidity.

CNN Ticker=pathetic   August 27th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

You guys need to get a grip.

RO   August 27th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Oh, come on! A body language expert..darn it… I am an excellent lip reader due to my deafness, and that makes me an expert in reading body language as well.. She did terrific! Agh! CNN, you disappoint me . I will really observe you next week at the Republican Convention and see if you find every tad little thing wrong there as well. I think I know the anwer to the question already, NO!

Jeff in Portland   August 27th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Give it up already CNN. The media is making A TON more of any Clinton/Obama gap than truly exists. Are you in the news business or the drama business?

Laura O'Malley   August 27th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

I am so sick of CNN'bias. I always went to CNN to see news. I will not watch CNN anymore 'cause they create their own news. So tired of the "taking heads", You went too far this time. I'm done with you.

D in Indiana   August 27th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

I'm sure this won't be posted,(like 4 other of my bipartisan comments)as I'm a Republican, but here goes anyway.
I won't be in shock when this happens next week with the Republican Convention.. as far as comments made, types of articles being posted, blogger comments, and yes, maybe even a body language expert trying to tell us what we missed, all aimed in the negative.
Last time I checked, this is Politics. I expect it to come, and I won't lose sleep or be nearly as stressed as some of you seem to be when something is said or happens that doesn't agree with your idea of who you think your candidate is. Seems like the same people always on here complaining and blaming are the same ones that make "nasty" comments about the other party. And that goes both ways! My point is this…I myself am tired of hearing the 4 or 7 (or how ever many it is today) houses of McCains comments, but I don't feel like attacking or wishing "bad things" for the entire Demo party over a few comments. I could also fire back and say something like…"well geez, Mr Obama didn't even know what city he was in the other night", but I choose to state my opinions in a more positive way and not let my anger mix in. Which was the point of my example. But what in the name of America does arguing and "put downs" back and forth accomplish?? Nothing but more stress on everyones sides.

Basically, if your tired of articles that you think are unfair on either side, don't even comment. Every time you comment on these blogs, you are upping the ratings and more similiar articles keep coming.

It would be nice tho, and I am talking to every side, if when we make comments, we would try to remember that we are talking to other Americans as well as other human beings. The disrespect on here is way outa hand. You can believe strongly in something and have an opinion without making crappy comments to others.
Thanks for this one posting CNN..if you even post it lol

Obama- Next Stop.. White House   August 27th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE AGENTS FROM HELL   August 27th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

Look women you all are about to really blow this for me, I need you all to understand you are going too far with all of this, come next time my name will be mud. Yes I am anger with Obama, but I can't afford for it to show or hinder my career. Yes I'm loving all this attention, but you all had better learn how this game is played.

If I can't have it neither will Obama!

wally   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Yes indeed! a crocodile smile.

Carol L in Rural Maine   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

CNN couldn't wait last night to have a full hour of Republican dissing and of course Larry King was ALL about the GOP critique.
Today, what is the important story… BODY LANGUAGE? OH wait,,, they forgot to mention Race.. .their other favorite theme.

CNN use to be balanced. They have lost their way.. They are now in line with FOX News ( who is nothing more than a GOP full time political ad campaign).

I was not a Hillary supporter. BUT last night made me wish she was on the #2 spot. Great job.

Efi, Hutschison MN   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

It's shameful to see this on CNN. I expect such stupidity from FOX not CNN. Shame on you CNN for trying to bring division among the democrats. This is the worse kind of journalism I have seen on CNN. It feels like CNN is in bed with the GOP.

Cathy   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Give it a rest CNN….stop trying to keep old wounds fresh!!!! Didn't you listen to a word of Clinton's speech…???

What a absolute disgrace and insult to your readers. Please, just report the facts as clearly and concisely as possible and allow us to provide our own analysis.

Julianna   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Elizabeth   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

PATHETIC! PATHETIC! PATHETIC! PATHETIC! PATHETIC! PATHETIC!

Is this the BEST you got??? Body Language analysis??

I heard all the media is going on about basically nothing. Creating news!!

Andrea Mitchelle trying to insist Bill Clinton just isnt on board with Obama, though he already has said he is!!

They have nothing to work with that is negative, so they create it.

Just like s-e-x cells, so does negative media commentating!

judy   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Aren"t we overdoing this just a bit… The media has way too much time to fill…or TO KILL. The major message from the media covering the DNC is the party split and Hilary making it right.

This is not what I SEE ;but what I HEAR from the best political team.

Let's move on. Media look at the red meat.

JF   August 27th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

What happened to you people at CNN ?

jd   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

why wasn't michelle smiling during Hillary's speech?????

Shaun B, Washington DC   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

So what? I don't care if she doesn't believe everything she said about him. What matters is that she did what she had to do to ensure that her party is stronger this November.
If we had these "lie detector" guys watch politicians all the time, they'd probably find a pretty high rate of people not saying what they think. Like it or not, doing that is an important part of the political profession, even for non-sleazy officials.
But at least talking to this guy allows lazy media outlets and out-for-blood citizens to more easily play "gotcha" — after all, the most important thing is trying to interest people with the lowest attention spans, in order to make money.

Yongester   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

As a Canadian watching Hillary's late speech (yawn), I'd say Michelle Obama's facial expression spoke volumes in itself!!

Used to be McCain   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

I used to support McCain, but I am sick and tired of his negative ads. Like Hillary Clinton wants to be in them!!! I'm now supporting Obama, like HIllary said, with pride.

Hey CNN,….I got an idea. Why don't you just hire Sylvia Browne too and get her to tell us what's going to happen to Obama and McCain in the future. Perhaps you might might consider bringing Jerry Springer on to do some moderating too. Might as well make the full transition to junk TV.

Mark Smalling   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

What a pile of junk that is……..of course look who it's coming from ,CNN.

You people need to grow up or go find a real job somewhere.

Joshua College Station Texas   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

I agree completely. Her ulterior motives were signaled by weak body language in support of Obama.

But it does not matter. People who want to vote for Obama will. For those on the line, I say, set aside concerns about race and experience and listen to how he measures issues–he is thoughtful, intelligent, chooses good advisors, and listens to good advice. He also does not accept bad advice. He will make a good president. And his wife will be a wonderful spouse! Please don't trust McCain. He is falling in line with the NeoConservative decision makers of his party and his policies are now evidently those of the Bush administration. McCain won't be exactly like Bush, but he is not going to be very much better, because he can't be–the Republican power players in the background won't let him.

Dee, North Carolina   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

Bologna!!!!!! You can get a so-called expert to say whatever you want. She did a wonderful job and I have renewed respect for her. Yes it was difficult but she did what was best for this country and the Democratic Party. Get over yourself….expert my foot. I hope you dissect the RNC the way you do the DNC.

UNDECIDED   August 27th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

This woman is amazing,,,
She should have bee the nominee for Pres or VP
She was terrific …

S. Shay   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

CNN is just dying to be totally eclipsed by MSNBC as more of us move there for a non-Obama bashing time. McCain has Fox and Obama has MSNBC and CNN is trying like hell to make itself more and more irrelevant. If it wasn’t for Anderson Cooper I’d probably never tune in and now it looks like I need to divorce Anderson and leave CNN alone.

Let's talk issues!   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

I totally agree with "Disgusted republican" who stated above "Let's talk about the many serious issues that are facing our country today, and how McCain and Obama views differ."

When are we going to just focus on the facts and what the candidates plan for our future! Then decide which future we want?
4-8 more Republican years?

Ex-mod-GOP for Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

A non-issue. I think she did marvelously in what had to have been difficult circumstances. She earned a lot of respect from me.

OhioMOM   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

Look, Hillary said she was very depressed throughout the summer after the primary loss. This speech had to be very difficult for her. I give her kudos for her efforts on behalf of all Obama supporters.

Time will heal all, and hopefully he will be smart enough to offer her a position in the Administration.

Steve   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

Hey I read this article already — only it was in US Weekly and it was about how Angelina really feels about Brad.

Matt   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

Wow CNN is just pushing things too far. Is this really something that needs drawn attention to? Why not just let people decide for themselves.

Aaron Gannon   August 27th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

This is absurd "analysis." CNN, you lost some respect from me for even considering this stuff relevant.

RM, Columbia, MD   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Actually, I'm pretty sure I detected that Hillary broke wind every time she mentioned Obama's name. Does CNN have a fart expert to explain that? Note to CNN: There are wars raging, world hunger, global warming, a new hurricane, and on and on. Can you spare a reporter to write about one of those trivial matters? Where's Walter Cronkite when you need him?

Sherry Curtis   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

If we could bring back all those who were lost in the war in Iraq; knowing what we know now, who do you think they would support the democrat's or republican's???

Stacy from Loudoun VA   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Come on guys. What's next? Astrologers? Witch doctors? Fortune tellers? No wonder I cannot find Lou Dobbs, he must be hiding in shame for this stuff. You guys have done a solid job for the most part, and you are now a broken vacuum that sucks and blows at the same time.

RT   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

CNN, Get a life. You are beating a dead horse to death. Stop trying to influence public opinion and keep making issues out of nothing. I couldn't stand Hillary during the primaries but I was very proud of her last night and have regained some respect for her. The party is uniting. Keep trying. Isn't McCain running an attack ad that you should be covering right now?

Ben   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

I have decided to boycott CNN. They used to be a respectable news network. Now it is all trash. More like FAUX everyday. MSNBC is where I will tune in from now on. Shame on you CNN. By the way, MSNBC is the fastest growing cable news network now.

anon   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Even if the "body language" expertise was solid, shouldn't that person do so without using prior knowledge of Hillary's attitudes, so as not to "read" her signals without bias? Hill's statements after affirming a supposed 'crocodile smile' reveal that hebrought his own preconceived ideas into his reading.

id&eye   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

You should see my body language as I read this article!

Are you kidding me . . .

TomInSanFrancisco   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

CNN, give me a flippin' break!! This is exactly the kind of substance-free story that 24-hour cable news gives us instead of meaningful news about candidates and issues.

Enough already.

Give Me A Break!   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

I guess we'll have to read his comments on Bill's tomorrow….Who cares!

steven schwab   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

i hope this guy does not make a living with his misinterpretations. Hillary only gains from the Democrats being in the White House.

Jon   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Whoever said this was her best speech ever doesn't have much confidence in her speaking ability. That was about as mechanical as a speech of this magnitude would allow. Hillary is clearly hoping Obama loses this election, so that she can make a run in '12.

Nick   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

I don't understand the anguish that everyone is showing. CNN REPORTS the news and doesn't make it. If you don't agree, switch to another channel and get a life. I tend to agree with CNN on that one.

Gary Glenn Combs   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

It is one thing to be upset that your candidate didn't win the nomination. But for some Hillary Clinton's supporters to say that they're not going to vote at all or even commit political suicide and vote for the other side sounds like a spoiled brat speaking. These people don't sound like they are concerned with the issues that should be making us together fighting mad and uniting us as Democrats more than ever. If the Democrat lose this November, it will be because of Hillary Clinton's supporters walking away in the heat of battle.

Val from MA   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

Precious… Bill Clinton is voting for McCain in November. Nice!

Go McCain!!!

Mauri   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

Enough already!!! I'm one of those who thinks Hillary need not have had a special speech in which to endorse Obama. What did he do for her? Oh yeah, I know. He did her a big favor by "letting" her speak in prime time so she could tell the world how wonderful he is, and getting trashed for it yet again. Excuse me, but if he wanted her
supporters' votes, why didn't he put himself out and win them over with his magnetic, celebrity personality. Instead, this woman did her duty to the Democratic party, and what does she get in return. I thought her speech was out of the ballpark. Body language? Doesn't bother me. Haven't you people ever seen jury specialists who can look at a person and tell how she or he will judge a criminal? Same thing. There are just some things you can't hide!

vote no to McBush & McWar   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

Rommney trying to cover up all his truthfull remarks about McBush McSame what a looser pathetic go back to Utah

Ricardo   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

Another "Fox Lite" attempt to undercut the Democrats. You'll be beating that dead horse until the election. Why not look at McSame's new ad which LIES about a statement Sen. Obama made about the danger posed by Iran? Time's Joe Klein, the Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan, and ABC's Jake Tapper have seen it, and have called it a LIE. "Fox Lite" apparently is OK with having a liar elected president. Wish I could show you my "body language" toward your network.

babs-toronto   August 27th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

CNN must have better things to analyze than HRC body language. CNN adverises the best political team(wolfe blitzer, john king, bill schneider, david gergen gloria borger etc.) well why not talk about the issues at hand. All I hear is will Hillary and Bill truly unite the party are they still upset and so on. CNNs' best political team needs to talk politics not junk it's an insult to their credentials. Who calls the shots and sets the agenda each night, I hope the best political team on tv isn't making news but reporting the news. This has been going on since Obama sealed the deal and won fair and square. If CNN keeps this up they will loose viewership in the long run. CNN wake up, you are supposed to give us an unbiased view of the 2008 elections not talk about Hillarys body language that would be news in the entertainment department not politics. It's an insult to THE BEST POLITICAL TEAM. Don't let me go to BBC and get my news!!

LAJimm   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Enough is enough. She endorsed him. Of course she wishes it was her. So do many of us but Obama will be the next president and she is behind him. Do you really think that her secret ambition is for McCain to win so she can run in 2012? There won't be a country left to run in 2012 if McCain is elected. We are barely holding on now – 4 more years of McBush will finish us.

jeff   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

US and Russian warships line up in dispute over Georgia, a possible hurricane about to enter the Gulf of Mexico and all
CNN can discuss is Hillary's body language! I've had it with the
democratic convention.

Jim Ma   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

hahahah body language expert, wow, pay me ill be one of these so called experts, these news people have an "expert" for every occasion, does America really need someone to tell them in general what to think or feel? because this is getting just plain dumb. Get off the tube people, pick up a real life book, no not a magazine….nobody is saying it because they are scared, but honestly, all this bs lately is making me really ashamed of some of my own people. Think for yourself and stop being led on by morons.

Burt   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Yet another example of CNN "making" news.
There isn't any drama, so you've got to create some.

Is there really nothing else to report on?

Mary   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Are you serious with this? Don't we have more important issues to discuss regarding the election then her body language? I think she gave the speech of her life. If her body language wasn't exuding exorbanent amounts of enthusiasm then maybe that's because she was vying for the same job. The women is still human the last time I checked. I am an Obama supporter and have been from the start but I gained additional respect for Senator Clinton as a person who can put aside her enormous loss and focus on what she believes is right. She made our country and the democratic party look good last night, next!

Anne   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

One really can over-analyze things, you know.. It was a good speech, she really tried, let her be! What's she supposed to do, kiss Obama's feet?

C. Aulwes   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

What a relief to finally see people openly responding to the total nonsense that CNN (as well as other "news" outlets) has portrayed as newsworthy. We are a very well-educated public, and we can see through the pathetic attempts to encite drama.
Stick to the hard news and quit trying to make every single thing that someone says or does into a "Gossip Girls" episode.
We have some serious issues facing the United States and diversions that fuel trivial topics are a waste of time.

Nia - AZ by way of MN   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

CNN and the rest of the media has stopped to an all time low… Hillaru gave her speech did what she was asked, which was present a speech on Unifying and McCain high negatives. Instead of focusing on the democratic Unity the want to digg for any sign of desent…even going to the levels of studying body language. What is next phycics, a crystal ball reading? The speech went over well leave it at tht…but then again if ther isn't a controversy…there go CNN ratings.

Berndt Seattle, WA   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

What a surprise (NOT!) that people still want to bash Hillary. Get over it. She did what she was asked to do by the pouty NObamas and you still want to give her grief?

Why is it her responsibility to go after the 'negative' ads from the GOP and reiterate the Pied Piper's qualifications? She isn't the nominee, so why isn't it Barry's job to go after those ads and take time to specifically state how he's gonna bring forth all that change and hope he continually rattles on about ? Oh, that's right, he says he runs a different kind of campaing – different in crying foul anytime anyone states a fact proving that he isn't worthy of the nomination, let alone the office of POTUS.

Hillary gave props to that entire sorry-arse camp and all Michelle could do is sit there looking angry and constipated. Why no go after her for body language?

sue   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

She's not going to forget or forgive. She's definitely NOt presidential material. I didn't watch her, as I just can't stand looking at her, but I could have told you that body language would not suggest she;s really supportive of Obama.

Huh? Are you joking   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Oh yes Hilary blinked only twice when she mentioned Obama therefore meaning… uh absoultely nothing

this is such junk why don't you report some real news

go to digg.com for real news

Mary from Sarasota FL   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

You know, my husband & I have watched CNN for years but in recent days I am beginning to get really fed up with the spin the hype and downright foolishness your producers are expecting you people to indulge in. Come On now, get over it !! I went to PBS last night to watch the convention… totally tired of all your yammering over every little thing …. It was so refreshing to actually WATCH the convention.
and btw, on Monday night I noticed you all walked all over the opening ceremony… Come on now… I agree with others commenting here.
Enough is enough… Mary from Sarasota, FL

Rick   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Enough with the analysis of every move made by Hillary Clinton. It just seems like the media wants there to be a controversy. She endorsed Obama and that's that.

Joseph   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

and what did she have for dinner?

Hillary Fan from NY   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

I could read one thing for sure from her body language:

"No Way, No How, No McShame"

Obama-Bidden 08/ Hillary Chief Justice 08

Jasper   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

I'm hooking Hillary up to a truthitude machine tonight. I just invented the device, which uses a monkey, three sticks and a wad of chewing gum. It's incredibly accurate.

Amazingly ridiculous story, CNN.

kelly landroche   August 27th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

A body language expert, give me a break!! It was a great speech.

Kurt M.   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

This story is such trash CNN.

What/who is this Dan Hill person? What credentials does he have?

What is a "body language expert"?

Why are you, a news organization constantly posting opinion after opinion! The purpose of the news to report facts, not opinions. This is basic journalism 101. And where is you second source?? Again, journalism 101.

I'm actually a "body language expert" and to me it looked like she was motioning to one of her aids to bring her some skittles.

And that cnn, is a fact.

spikeaus   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

Body language? Hillary's been stiff as a board all her life. How can you tell? This overanalysis is exhausting. Can't we just vote and get the whole thing overwith already? I won't have any energy left to watch the R's next week. People actually make money reporting this junk.

J-Syxx   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

This isn't news. This is a joke. Stop trying to stir the pot for ratings you corporate monsters.

objective perspective   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

This is NOT news worthy at all. I am disappointed in CNN as a network.

TN, Madison   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

I wonder if CNN actually looks at these posts — I'm sure this is really naive, but I really think CNN should post an apology on this. This piece was low, tacky, and totally wrong.

Slick   August 27th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

Wisen up people. Don't pay attention to the media garbage. If there wasn't discord between these two, what would they report?? issues??

Halloran in Hoboken   August 27th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

It must be hard to know you are the better candidate, yet have to endorse a man running on a dream.

Steve   August 27th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

Just imagine what it would be like now if you only had put this much effort and scrutiny into the push to go to war with Iraq over a trumped reason.

JB   August 27th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

Whether Hillary's body language said that she was sincere are not Hillary gave a great speech. It took a lot of courage to get up there and indorse your one time opponent. Now its up to Obama to do the rest.

Leetie   August 27th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

My magic 8-ball tells me that CNN is being laughed at.

Bryan   August 27th, 2008 3:53 pm ET

Thank you captain obvious. Of COURSE she had the crocodile smile. She doesn't like Obama at all, but admiting that now would be poltical suicide.
To those of you that thing all is well in the democratic party, it's time for a serious reality check.

less media more issues   August 27th, 2008 3:52 pm ET

Has anyone checked out the body language of the third row? : )

Let's get real. If this was a man, body langage would not be under discussion. I'd like to tell all you pundits to get a life.

No Bounce Biden   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

It's already sad to see some many unqualified people holding positions beyond they capacities in the ordinary world… Now we're about to put the least qualified candidate to run our country…!!

I've never feel so low as a democrat.

Becky   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

Oh my Goodness. CNN has become the same calibur as FOX NEWS. Did you decide to compete with O'Reilly on body experts. I am now officially leaving CNN online and TV for good. I left Fox after their foolishness and hatefulness of Senator Obama. I hope your ratings plummet to the bottom. I will watch MSNBc until they get as foolish as you. BYE- BYE

spacewriter   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

I second the motion to watch CSPAN for non- pre-digested coverage of the conventions. Are we Americans or are we drugged couch potatoes that need news "reporters" on CNN or FauxNews or MSNBC to digest our news for us?

I'd like to think that we have more brains than that.

tremlett   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

lemme tell you cnn and bodylanguage experts. democrats are not expecting hillary to come out emotionally and all out to the last fibre in her heart to say something for obama. we all know that she is human being and we all know she can be disappointed for not being the nominee. under that context put yourself in and see how you would have delivered the speech. going by that scenario hillary has done incredibly well. cnn should focus on some other crap news than this.

none of your business   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

When is CNN going to stop trying so hard to create news? Why can't you just report the news? This cable network is on a slipply slope going down hill into a big bucket and this has been going on for the last two years! Now all the actors have this stern face when talking into the camera – - – - I think all of you need to go to Club Met for a real party rather than trying to second guess all the national conventions – - – you have lost all creditable ability to report the issues without putting some phony spin on it!! I have followed CNN for over 20 years and think right now your doing the worst job ever – - – stop thinking the general public are a bunch of fools!!

Lori   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

Can't wait for Republican National Convention so I can post about how I'm a republican and "make up" how angry I am about McCain and how I'm "now" going to vote for Obama. Jeez, this lying stuff is fun….

Fatima   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

It is disgusting , really !!

Jose   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

This is nonsense that the media has to put up so that this "feud" can continue. The Hillary vs. Obama argument can be over with else there isn't a story.

How bout instead of analyzing body language, someone at CNN analyze the consequences of our current President's policies to the American people.

Alan   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

I hope someone from the site reads these comments and notices how overwhelmingly dismissive they are of spin-trash/republican-agenda-pushing articles like this. What's up, CNN? Not enough drama for you in the serious and consequential real news?

objective perspective   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

this is pointless really. this question is obviously motivated by people who would want to divide the democratic party. why would anyone try to read someone's body language when they've offered there words for communication. its not like body language is an easy form to communicate with.

let's cut to the chase…

republicans want to broaden the every-disappearing divide in the democratic party by misleding Clinton followers into believing she doesnt want Obama to represent her and her followers in November.

Here's a question…. if you have to cheat to win, then what have you really won?

Trey   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

This article is idiotic! Some "expert" shoots his mouth off and we are supposed to believe him. The so-called science of body language is wishy-washy at best.

And, as for the Hillary supporters who the media is saying won't support Obama – how stupid!!! You really think they'd rather put the wrinkley old white dude in?

ET   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

Ok CNN you explain Hillary's body language to us morons out here. I didn't watch the convention last night to check out her body language, I watched to hear her speech, and it was oustanding, the best one. Us morons will be waiting for you to explain the body language to us!!!!

MCCAIN SUPPORTER   August 27th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

Andy in Charlotte, NC   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

I'm sick of these "body language experts" and "political analysts" and "sources" in the news! Enough is enough!

Andrew Davis   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

Is CNN for real? A body language "expert" offering opinions on what Hillary REALLY meant. Why not just say she said it and now supports Obama. Let's get on with the real issues in the election instead of wasting time with nonsense?

drv   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

By Jebus…..seriously I know body language experts need jobs, too, but this is ridiculous! Wow, lets cover something less important, already. What do either of the candidates and their teams need to do to make you be happy? And then they wonder why the rest of the world thinks we are just a tad bit too self-absorbed.

Lisa   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

How about the ugliest face and body language that Michelle Obama put forward during Hillary Clinton's speech…Michelle really does think she is "all that" doesn't she…she makes me sick…just like her husband Obama. Hope he loses by a landslide so they can squirm their way back to Chicago where they belong.

Jason, J'ville Florida   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

This section is absolute lunacy!!!! TED TURNER!!! Can you please buy back CNN? They have lost their "marbels"!!! A body language expert!? It's one thing to run such an absurd piece, but to present as if it's somehow credible. Or better yet, as if any of us could give a "flying fig" about it. CNN has truly lost it's way. The country no longer belongs to the people. There are serious issues out there, life and death issues, and this is how CNN and the OTHER "Corporate Media" treats us. Like we are freaking idiots and the off spring of Jerry Springer Show contestants past. This is utterly ridiculous!!! Get back to reporting the news.

political junky   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

Give me a break! Are you that desperate for a story?

Matt: honestly   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

CNN I must say, this is pretty rediculous, and it just fuels the fire that the media is trying to create a division in the party because it is a good story. Rediculous.

Chris   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

CNN, this IS a joke, right?

Please tell us you ARE indeed a news agency with considerable clout and not the equivalent of a supermarket tabloid talking about tarot cards.

Honestly, this is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. You're reporting on a political convention for perhaps the most important election the U.S. has ever faced. That is, perhaps the most important election right now in the free world.

The country is in dire straits because of eight years of the Republican administration botching just about everything. And you're hiring a body language expert to create a story???

I'm appalled.

Bobby   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

I agree!!!! I saw the same thing!!!!! NO to empty words and the face telling the truth!!!!!

OBAMA/BIDEN 2008

Silence Dogood   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

She was great! She was supportive! Wonderful speech.

But there has to be strife and hate. What about her body language? Was that a strange color blue behind her? What about the temperature in the room? What phase was the moon in?

Maybe she is just a Great Person giving a Great Speech!

But if Obama loses, his followers and the media will look back and blame. She could have done more. Maybe she wasn't totally supportive. Get ready for it to be everyone's fault (especially a woman) except Obama.

Mike from CA.   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

Melanie   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

I was all ready to write that this pathetic, bottom-scraping attempt to spin drama out of the convention is the last straw for me with CNN, but I see that scores of other people have beat me to it.

Young journalists just starting out their careers at this pale similacrum of a news outlet, leave now and find a job somewhere where you would have some hope of maintaining your self-respect.

Democrat for McCain   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

HOW COME THAT PERFORMANCE NOT ANALIZED

MY BROTHER WHO IS AN BODY LANGUAGE EXPERT FOR FBI SAYS MICHELLE OBAMA WAS SO FAKE THAT EVERYTHING SHE DID WAS CAREFULLY CRAFTED ACTING NOTHING SINCERE ABOUT IT- GUESS THAT WAS A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE SHOULD HAVE WON AN OSCAR

sck   August 27th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

Seriously CNN? This is the best you can do? This is just a joke. You should be ashamed of yourselves and focus on some real news, like the fact that Hillary Clinton gave a rousing speech enthusiastically endorsing Sen. Obama and telling America why John McCain has no business being President.

Tony   August 27th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

….and a Republicant "so-called" EXPERT too I'll bet. :) :) :)

Humberto   August 27th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

The DNC should scrap Obamas nomination now! before it's too late to win the whiteHouse.

I agree with others — it's irrelevant, in no way hard journalism, and I cannot conceive of it as anything other than a blatant attempt to perpetuate divisiveness.

Worse, though, this piece misses the entire point. Clinton made clear that when people voted for her, they were supporting policies… and they should continue to vote for those BELIEFS:
"I want you to ask yourselves: were you in this campaign just for me? Or were you in it for that young marine and others like him? Were you in it for that mom struggling with cancer while raising her kids? Were you in it for that young boy and his mom surviving on the minimum wage? Were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?"

Michelle was trying to make up for her past mistakes about not feeling patriotic. Too little too late.

McCain will win this.
We don't need Biden in the WH to babysit Obama – this isn't a game folks. Obama has no experience.

Hillary in 2012

SL, PA   August 27th, 2008 3:49 pm ET

Do we really have to take this here? Why are you not speaking about what was Caroline Kennedy, Edward Kennedy and Michelle Obama body language saying? Because we all saw and felt the sincerity, hope and the linkage of the string that unite us all; regardless of race, color, gender o religious beliefs.

I just wonder how anyone would feel if they were a part of a team/group and applying for a position that (they wanted so desperately) and by winning it would make them the leader of that team/group and lost.

Would one just walk away pouting? Or still support the winner because they themselves are a winner; and a part of a team/group that helps make all of them complete.

DemInVA   August 27th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

I don't usually comment on these items – but this is such a joke that I had to say something.

What do people want Hillary Clinton to do? She can do no right in the eyes of the media – CNN is just about as bad as Fox News…

If any people were not moved by her speech – then the heck with them – they wouldn't have voted for Obama, Richardson, Biden, Dodd…they might say they are a DEM but they are not telling the truth…

Tom   August 27th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

"You can't hide those lyin' eyes……….." And who can blame her. She knows that the strongest candidate for prez is herself and the DNC summarily dismissed that opportunity and then she's supposed to salute the arrogant *** the DNC picked? She did the best she could and Obama and the DNC should be thrilled she did that much. She owes them nothing but contempt.

Please find something worthy to write about and stop wasting our time. Hillary gave a GREAT speech. OKAY???!!!

Nelson King   August 27th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

How fast Hillary changed from bashing to praising Obama. I believe she must be praticing her speech hundreds time to hide her real emotion. She is a good politician but not a good actor.

Seminole32 - Portland   August 27th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

This is incredible. I'll admit that I am no fan of Hillary for a number of reasons. That being said, she went above adn beyond the call of duty in her speech to help achieve party unity. No one, and I mean, no one could have asked her to do more. I praise the senator from NY and she has finally won my respect. CNN, get over it.

Unbelievable! CNN is becoming a place to get any junk news and analysis.

Why didn't CNN analyzed Michelle's body language?

Why CNN didn't analyzed Obama's body language when he turned his back on Hillary during the state of the Union?

Is CNN getting paid by by Obama 's campaign to put such a junk out?

Jan

Mila   August 27th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

OK, McCNN, enough already.

Moxie   August 27th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

How disappointing to watch CNN become just like all of the tabloids around the country. "The best political team on television" has become the "best political joke" of this campaign cycle. There's not enough real news for you to cover? I think you've all been around Jack for too long. His blind hatred of the Clintons is rubbing off on the rest of you. Whatever happened to journalistic integrity?

And while we are on the subject, if the news organizations had given fair and unbiased coverage of the primaries, I think Hillary might have had a fair chance at winning, but with all of the sexism and negative headlines directed at her, the voters were led down the path toward the destruction of her campaign.

The fact that every comment on this board is in her defense and pointing out your inadequacy, you should get a clue and bring us back to the good old days of CNN.

nelson   August 27th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

I know we need to do news and analyze a story, but please, can we move on. All of this over analysis is just going shove doubt into any voter that was convinced watching her speech the first time around. This is going to overload everyone can when it comes to election time the voter will be even more confused about Obama and or Mc Cain.

I hope our media doesn't do more harm than good for our country this fall.

Joe   August 27th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Is this the Onion? This is the least newsworthy news story I've seen in a long time.

Steve B   August 27th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

It may be true that Hillary is still disappointed she didn't get the nomination and she may be still be feeling the impact of that. She did what she said she would do – get behind Obama. Sure, maybe she hasn't finished dealing with the emotional piece of losing – let her have her time. Take her at her word and let's stop second guessing what she "really" means.

IowaChad   August 27th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Regardless of what Hillary says you will continue to look for something negative!!

Jason   August 27th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Is this CNN or Perez Hilton? Politicians are politicians, and if you ask me, they all look pretty stiff when they speak. Give us some real stories surrounding real issues. We wonder why American politics have become a joke…..

IL voter   August 27th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

REALLY, CNN? Why must you work so hard to keep the "fued" storyline alive? I'm very disappointed with you. What's next? Are you going to contrast Hillary and Obama's astrological charts?

OLD MAN MCCAIN   August 27th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Clinton speech = DEM unity = last nail in McSame's presidential coffin.

WAY TO GO HILLARY!!!

catatemyhw   August 27th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

What a low way CNN !

Cap   August 27th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON?!? She lost, please take her speech for what it was and go home. This is for the President of the United States, not dictator for life. For as much as I support Obama and his candidacy, I understand that best case scenario he can only be president for 8 years. What would these PUMAs do with themselves if she lost the general election? Bill Richardson was absolutely correct, the Clintons and their supporters live in this delusional state in which there is no existence beyond them and if you refute this postulation you are beyond salvation. I don't know what all these PUMAs and Clintonites are thinking but at this point I would not support ANYTHING in which the Clintons are involved because of the sheer lunacy and baggage that comes along with their presence. The DNC is supposed to be establishing a platform for Obama to galvanize support against McCain not be a tribute to the Clinton past. Obama was right not to pick her as his running mate. It would have been like marrying Dr. Frankenstein – totally brilliant but completely insane with mobs carrying torches and pitchforks everywhere you go.

Dee, Tx   August 27th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

Really…CNN…a body language expert….from the "most trusted news source" what next you'll consult a psyhic

Howie Bless   August 27th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

This is an all-time low for CNN. I used to respect CNN for their news reporting but that is no longer the case. Now you are trying to make up news rather than report real the news. How sad!!

Jayson   August 27th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

Body language? Oy vey. I thought this kind of stuff was relegated to daytime talk shows where people throw things at each other.

Give Me A Break!   August 27th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

CNN, cover something that matters!

anonymous   August 27th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

Hillary has always had a "crocodile smile." What is new? It is interesting that it meant so much more last night because she was talking about Obama.

kikirocks   August 27th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

It's unfortunate that CNN has lost the respect of so many. Stories like these just make the organization seem more and more like tabloid journalism. I used to be a big fan but not lately.

mike   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

What struck me was what she did say…she stated "that we must win" with about as much conviction and emotion as, well, I don't really know…it was not convincing.

Obama/Biden 08   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Why is CNN doing everything it can to help Senator McCain? I mean, I would expect this crap from FOX News, but from CNN? I thought you guys were better journalists.

So much for that… CNN, you are losing my respect daily.

Fatima   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

OMG !! To this extent ? A Body language expert ?? This is unbelievable !! What do u guys want ? Blow it up ? What do you want ? What is the goal here? Are u meaning to hit Hillary or hit the Democtares as a whole? Let the Unity work. U r spoiling any good news .

David   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Hurray for CNN!

Please be sure to cover the all-important color analysis of Clinton's clothes. That's what I'll be basing my vote on.

Used to be a decent news network….

Weary   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Tom Brokaw once said of CNN, "CNN used to be called the little network that could. It's no longer a little network."

I wonder what he and other decent journalists think of CNN nowadays.

Pathetic.

Lisa   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Last nights speech by Senator Clinton just reminded me as to why she should be the nominee for the Democratic Party. I really don't see Obama defeating McCain… Hilary would be a definite win against McCain… I just hope she sticks around and would run again for 2012.

juan bobo   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

I'm an expert on Hair Language, and her hair was saying something different.

Where do these crackpots come from, and why does anyone listen to them?

good2know   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

The republicans didn't want McCain 8 years ago, 4 years ago, and We don't want him NOW!

Veron   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

As neutral as I am with the whole political scene right now, even I thought Clinton's endorsement of Obama lack sincerity…body language , facial experession and all.

Tim   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

CNN has an obsession with the Clintons. They cannot let a story die. They have been pushing the Obama-Clinton storyline past what anyone would consider reasonable. Even if they don't like each other, they are publicly supporting each other. They don't have to like each other to support their party. This has happened before and will happen again between politicians. At this point, they are pretty much just making up stories and making news rather than reporting it. CNN is becoming another Fox News. I beg CNN to stop this terrible form of journalism.

Steve the Soothsayer   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Hillary delivered the requisite minimum for Barack and a substantial amount of praise for herself, her husband and her own followers. That said, it appears that the many who were brought to tears by Michelle's speech were prepared to buy anything offered to them. Hillary and Bill will both no doubt continue to go through the motions, but the bitterness they both feel as a result of their humiliating defeat will linger for years.

wesley   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

honestly i think it is enough, you guys should focus more on the candidates and the economy. how can someone detect somebody's body language. this needs to stop seriously, leave the woman alone. she has been through a lot. i am for obama, pls once again focus on the issues and how united states can build its status as the number one country in the world. also end the war in iraq.

Erika, KS   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I swear, the Obama fan club is insane! There's just not pleasing you people! Know this: this election is Obama's to win or lose! Period. He can take responsibility on his own and stop blaming Clinton for everything he doesn't like or get what he wants! Enough of this crap.

Darrell   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Is CNN owned and operated by the McCain family ??? There would be absolutley no other reason that this subject would be brought up.Your news coverage since the convention has been imature, destructive and irresponsible. All we seems to hear lately is how bad the convention is and pick the living crap out of anyones speech and now the lowest of low body language experts.Bye bye

zscott   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

you're kidding, right? you call this news? please, there are so many substantive topics to discuss… please stop trying to be like fox news.

Yolanda   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I want to send a shout out to all of you who've commented thus far…this is bloody entertaining! Why do a lot of you continute to trumpet the same trite comments over and over about how ridiculous CNN is for publishing Dan Hill's comments? "Disgusted Republican" is right on…let's focus on issues, and I say, help spread the word of our respective candidates, not continue to blog about CNN's ridiculousness.

Mikey   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I am also a body language expert and based on John McCain's body language, I conclude he is unintelligent, uninspiring, unethical, and lacks the judgment or temperament required for the presidency.

How about a story on McCain's voting record over the past few years? …or would that require effort and journalistic skills?

MW in California   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

This is really taking it too far CNN! Why can't we just give Mrs. Clinton her due ONCE AND FOR ALL! She was brilliant last night – the best speech yet at the convention in my opinion. She did not have to do what she did – can she get some credit for standing tall, being graceful in defeat, giving a simply amazing speech, and for inspiring countless women, like me, who see a strong woman speaking for all of us? Who needs a body language expert? Enough!!!!!

ET   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Whats this body language crap? If you noticed the expresion on Michelle Obama' face, looked as if she wanted to knock Hillary off the stage, or does she look that way all the time.

Virginia Voter   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Supported Hillary…. AND NOW SUPPORT OBAMA! Hill did her job, now it's time to elect OBAMA! Let's get this party started!

Preet   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

I can’t believe I read this article. CNN is a trademark and a household name for covering news items that inspires viewers to get the latest and greatest news but I am very disturbed by this article. CNN, don’t get distracted, please stick to covering the news.

ben   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

CNN- you're making far too much of this. What's next- having a wardrobe expert analyze what she was wearing and what that meant about her thoughts on Obama? Maybe we should start watching Fox News if CNN won't do real news stories.

jen   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Please watch the convention on C-Span rather than CNN or MSNBC. You'll get to see and hear all of the presentations, and you'll be able to decide for yourself how you feel about them. We need more thought in politics, and less of these shallow stories. Our media is falling apart.

Hollis   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??? Nothing at CNN is at face value anymore. You used to be the news network. Now you can only be called a Cabal of Nuance Nitpickers. I am sick to death of your talking heads and producers and editors who cannot abide allowing the viewers to watch a speech in its entirety, (witness countless interrupted speeches such as Leach, Pelosi, etc.) much less leave us to ponder without your overly critical analysis, including telling us what the speakers "had in their hearts" or "were really thinking and not saying" or now, what Hillary's body language really reveals. Then you have the audacity to criticize the Dem's convention because no one is delineating the differences between the Democrats and the GOP, when in fact, several of the speakers (we didn't get to hear if we listened to you) have done that very thing. I don't know if you have a staff that watches PBS or CSpan, but what we want, and what you USED to deliver, are the facts … NOT your constant "making of news" with your amateur psychologists (also known as your panelists, experts, news anchors) analyzing every vowel's inflection and every nervous tick.

Are you trying to throw this election by your constant analysis, 90% of which is pointing out that what we see or hear is not really what we see and hear, as explained by Gergen, Borger, Blitzer, et al? While you people at CNN were analyzing something meaningless to the future of this country, and making statements bordering on falsehood, PBS's Judy Woodruff was actually speaking with Michelle Obama about the role Hillary had played so far. It was eye opening information coming from Michelle's own mouth, although you'd never know it based on your team's droning analysis. Why not stick to reporting facts? As for me, I'll no longer depend on you. I never watched FOX for the very reasons I will now stop watching CNN.

Now4Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Enough already with the ratings seeking CNN. I honestly used to wouldn't stoop to this level. Democrats come together and elect a man with vision.

Obama 08

Joe Regis   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

She did the best she could given the circumstances.

Her legacy will live on. She united a party that was fragmented.

Obama/Biden 08/12.

Seriously?   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Hi my name is CNN… im a 24 hr tv show that dispite numerous issues around the world of more relevent importance to the american public i've decide to go the route of reading body language on a candidate who clearly supports Barack Obama.

I mean I "could" cover the conflict of the Georgian-Russian cease-fire where Russian troops are not withdrawing from the country.

I "could" try to do a side by side comparison of each candidates position on the issues.

I "could" try to help the consumer out with things such as advice to get out of crippling debt and savings plans. Ways to conserve energy and live a healthier cleaner life. Or even health tips to help one of the biggest problems in the country, obesity.

But no…. I'm going to push conflicts and drama anywhere i can in the hopes of filling an entire days worth of news.

HILLARY SUPPORTER   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

STOP IT ALL READY. NOW THEY ARE PICKING ON HER BODY LANGUAGE WHAT IF THIS WAS RADIO. THE ONLY ADDITIONAL THING SHE COULD POSABLY DO IS PICK UP HER SUPPORTER CARRY THEM TO THE POLLS AND WORK THE LEVER FOR THEM.I THINK THAT THE MEDIA DID ENOUGH TO CLINTON AND THAT'S WHY SHE HAD TO GIVE LAST NIGHTS SPEECH. LOOK FOR ANOTHER SCAPEGOAT. IF OBAMA LOSES THIS ELECTION AND HE WILL HE IS THE ONLY ONE TO BLAME.

Agnes   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

and what about Michelle, or it's not politically correct to analyze her?

give me a break!

where are the news about uniting the party, or the country…
bunch of bickering news while the rest of the country struggles

Joe Cheesehead, WI   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Enough CNN. You have killed the horse, bitten it to a pulp, revived it, and now it doesn’t look like a horse anymore. I think who ever breathed life back into it made it into a cat that now has nine lives.

Kelby from Houston, TX   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

CNN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! Somebody bought this load of crap. and that somebody is MT, Texas.
He swallowed this garbage. are you happy now. you influenced somebody with your so called news.

Scott Robinson-Woodinville   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Hey, hey! All this dumping on CNN is unfair!

It treats them way too nicely!

What the heck-ramsey is the matter with you, CNN?? I look to you to be the neutral medium between MSNBC and Fox News! But your pandering to the right and manufacturing controversies are sickening. You're going to have democratic responders lined up to rag on every republican presentation in their convention, RIGHT? You are going to air democratic attack ads during their convention, RIGHT? You are going to analyze whether Mitt Romney looked like a smarmy used car salesman or not, RIGHT?

God save us; this is the "info" the majority of Americans have to base votes on these days.

Nelson Colorado Springs Co   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I'm very surprise that CNN or America would pay any attention to what a Dan Hill a so call body language expert say. what about the face expert or the eye expert or the dress or hair expert ,boy talk about being out to lunch. CNN can find anybody to talk about anything much to do about nothing. I hope CNN didn't pay for this interview, it's drilling for oil in the wind And I can sell you some wind. Sen Clinton give a a outstanding unity speach at the Democratic National Convention. Dan Hill is trying to find something wrong with Sen Clinton speach. I didn't know or what college he got his degree from. Don't forget the Republican expert. GO OBAMA

karen-phoenix   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

PS: One of the best things you could have covered was the speech by the Governor of Montana!!! He was great and had the whole convention up and out of their seats. He's what America is!!

Beverly, NYC   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Please what's next, analyzing her pant suit color. She gave a good speech, it is what it is. Move on CNN, it's about Obama/Biden. Remember when Hillary went on vacation after the primary and you didn't have a daily post about her, those were the days.

Humberto   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

The DNC should scrap Obamas nomination now! before it's too late to win the whiteHouse. No one can change Obama's history and inexperience, no one will vote for him on that premise.

Democrat for McCain if Clinton is not the nominee

Richard Heinlein   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Her message was primarily one of multiple first person referrals, in much the same style of George W. Bush oratory. In selling herself and attacking McCain brilliantly, she is discouraging her advocates from supporting Obama and encouraging them to wait for the real deal. The speech will prove immensely beneficial for McCain, and it won't hurt her four years hence since she was able to con so many TV commentators into thinking she was being magnanimous. What a bunch of dummies!

mel from Ohio   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I thought her body language was positive and affirming along with her words. She did a great job and the "experts" who are picking it a part should get a life!!!

DisgustedByMedia   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

CNN has hit a new low. Trying to manufacture drama just to have something with which to fill a web page. I'm ready to vote Democratic just as a response to McCain's trivial TV campaign and the cable/web media's incessant noise (don't call it coverage!).
I used to have so much more respect for McCain before he turned over his principles to the Bush team in 2004 in order to get their support to run this year.

Hayden   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

"I don't think that helped move the 30 percent of her supporters who say they won't vote for Obama"

Right on, I'm never supporting Obama!

Karen   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I agree with Mike in NY, By gosh, Michele O looked like she had hate in her eyes. She looked like she has not care for Hillary at all. In fact, didn't she say at one time, if Hillary was the candidate, she would have to think really hard on voting for her?

Paul Dobro   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I am a psychic and I know exactly what Hillary was thinking during the speech. She was thinking it was a mistake to wear organge, I wish Bill would stop hitting on that woman next to him, and she thinks Barak is sexy and will be a great president.

Hey CNN, why not publish my valued insight on the speech just like the othre fine reporting you are doing!

Way to go CNN!

minh   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

LOVE YOU HILLARY CLINTON

W. Taylor   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

This has to be the craziest thing I have seen in this election cycle so far. CNN is now analyzing the body language of speakers? This is a prime example of how the media is "juicing" up the so-called drama between Hillary and Obama. This is just trifling. I can't believe CNN posted this.

fred   August 27th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

You have got to be kidding me. You people really must have nothing to do.

Can we not concentrate on what said in the speech instead of trying to determine what the woman MIGHT be thinking??????

To echo the previous comment, we have to expect this type of reporting from FOX noise, but not you guys. No wonder why everyone is moving to blogosphere and fast.

Joe   August 27th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

CNN: stop trying to spin this…. The Dems are unified. Jeesh!

Is this the kind of reporting we're going to have to endure because the McCain campaign accused y'all of being "in love" with Obama?

Sen. Clinton raised the roof last night and all you can do is analyze her body language?

Jim   August 27th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

geez. like picking fly crap out of a salt shaker….next we will hear how the color of her pants suit sent a subliminal message to vote for McCain.

nan   August 27th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

CNN IS LOSING IT!

I WONDER IF CNN IS REPUBLICAN OR INDEPENDENT AS THEY CLAIM TO BE. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!

I THINK THEY ARE REPUBLICANS!!!

sal   August 27th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Will the media please knock it off? You people are dumbing down the country with this junk. Journalism is officially extinct.

merlisa   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

The media needs this controversy to get people to tune in or read their otherwise useless coverage.

Let's wake up people. The Clintons and Obamas have more in common than you think. Both are couples with law degrees (although Bill was disbarred after the whole Lewinsky mess). They all went to Ivy league schools. Bill grew up with a step father, after real dad split. So did Obama. Life was not easy for either of them growing up.

Both Bill and Obama lost their moms.

Hillary is a strong, well educated woman who speaks her mind, so the Republicans paint her has evil. Threatening. Michelle is a strong, educated woman who speaks her mind, so she's the devil too.

Both Hillary and Michelle had to soften their imagine as not to scare the weak-minded women and men threatened by a strong independent woman.

They both raised daughter(s).

Michelle has become the new Hillary. The woman the right loves to take shots at because she has actually acheived something they haven't: balanced family and work life and remained beautiful.

LB   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

So tomorrow do we get a body language debate on Bill Clinton's speech. Please let it go. Hillary gave a great speech and is trying her hardest to get her supporters to back Obama. Isn't that enough.

Paul Riendeau   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

I heard Hilary Clinton say very forcefully that she is backing Obama and that she thought it is very important that all other Democrats should do the same. Are you telling me that is not what she actually meant because some 'Body Language Expert' says the signals he was getting were not completely positive. Cut me a break!
Maybe we should ask Hilary to take a Lie Detector Test. Or we could just think about what she was saying and realize it makes very good sense without any further analysis.

andrea   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

duh, it's because she has had botox like a million times

Janine   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

I think Hillary's speech was great. I think unfortunately people are trying to take away from the point she was trying to make.

Fred , NJ   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

Body langquage? So one person of the entilre viewing audiance picked up on Hillary's body language. Everyone else heard her speak. Lord knows, it's not easy to love your enemy.

Franky   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

(cough)…..(cough)…..O.K, what is this now, a therapy session? Hillary did her thang and move on!! There's nothing to see here…

Just let it be…

Eli   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

PEOPLE. Hillary Clinton is a VERY GOOD politician, she can fake anything, do you really think she would be so bad that this so called expert that CNN hired could say this. Eventhough I will not vote for Obama, not just over the DNC giving the election to Obama, but because I feel he is not the right person for the job. Just as we DEMOCRATS blasted the Republicans for voting GW BUSH back in office in 2004 when they knew he was not presidential material, I am following my own and the DEMOCRATS advice from then.

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

So if this had been a radio address, I'm sure CNN would be all about how supportive Clinton is of Obama, right?

Get your election/convention coverage from C-SPAN, PBS, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, or CBS. Leave CNN and FOX in the gutter.

What happened to you?

Sue Fugate   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Hillary gave a great speech last night, but she should have been our next President. Last night was the first time I had watched CNN since she droped out, CNN was so unfair to her. Thanks, Sue

Victoria   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

What did Hillary say when people start to throw rocks keep on going and don"nt look back! Other words we are going to have unity and come November we are going to the voting booth and vote Obama/Biden for our next President and VP President

Young Republican   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

I think we're all being PUNK'D by CNN!

MissKayM   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Kudos to Hillary!
She did a great job with speech, body language the whole thing.
Give the lady credit. She is knocking herself out supporting Obama.
All negative about the Clintons from CNN. Always…
I think the body language you all emit is jealousy for the
fact that Hillary is a woman and has such great intelligence.
This is the last straw…body analysis…What a load of ….
Report the real news please…that would be a change and do not
beat it to death all the time.

Oh if you could read my body language right now!

Ross- Ohio   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

What about body odor expert or better yet; a body heat emission expert- what did they say?

Jade   August 27th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Iv decided to vote for Obama..

It still hurts that hilary isnt our nominee, especially after that amazing presidential speach she gave last night! But she was right.. i addmit it..Obama for 4 years could never be worse then McCain!

Obama 08..Hilary 12!

Syndy   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

I am an Obama supporter. I also like Hillary. Instead of people bashing Michelle Obama, why don't you bash CNN and Fox News for creating malice where people seem to healing.

Chryssa   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

If Hillary's supporters aren't behind Barack now, they never will be. Let's stop wasting our time and energy on their whiny butts.

bernadette   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

unfortunately, this does not surprise me. She did not say Obama had the ability to lead, or counter the McCain campaign attacks against him – she talked issues only. And, her husband continues to make 'wink wink' remarks (like the candidates x and y comments) that send a clear message : don't vote Obama so Hillary can run in 2012. What they, and their ardent supporters, do not care about is what will happen to the American people in the next 4 years if McCain wins – all they care about is that Hillary be given a chance in 2012 and to hell with us till then. It is pure selfishness – pure ego- something the Clintons are known for and unfortunately their ardent supporters are the same. They all treat her as she was robbed of a crown she was entitled to. They don't act like Democrats at all, and if I were running the convention I would not give the Clintons the time of day. True Democrats care about the American people and what they are going through now, and don't want us to wait four more years for what we need and what this country needs. If Obama loses, my plea in 2012 will be "no more Clintons".

Jackson Redditch   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Who cares? What a waste of disk space.

Toby   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Once again, CNN goes for the side show and ignores the important news. Not only news of the election, but what's been happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are soldiers facing murder charges, allegations against our troops of bombings of civilians, general unrest. And Iran? For this news, you have to go to the foreign press on the internet. CNN goes for fluff and ignores the news that … wait! … There goes a runaway bride!!!!

Austin   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Just goes to show you that Hillary's once supporters now turned to McCain are racist and continue to plague our society. AND

If that is not the case I guess it is alright to discriminate against age.

That is what McCain is trying to capitalize on. Not fair that you would get shut down for playing the race card but it is perfectly Okay to play the age discrimination…..I thought that was Illegal?

Oh well I would rather have a bunch of more wars in the future and No economic back bone so my daughter will have the chance to get drafted and fight in a war which she doesn't agree with and in turn when she (if) gets back she won't be able to make it in life because our economy will be flushing down the toilet rapidly.

Thank you Hillary Supporters now my daughter will not have the opportunity to Excell in life like your all knowing women leader…..RACIST COUNTRY and that is why the rest of the world hates us!!!!! CNN you have contributed to this by reinforcing that this was fake and not a real support speach—WAY TO GO CNN

Sandy   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

CNN – get real. Report the news.

This was riduculous…guess that is why I have been turning to MSNBC more lately.

I want to hear more about the issues.

Mishra, Janardan   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

She should have said loudly and clearly urging those voters who supported her to cast the vote to Barak on behalf of herself.
She should have loudly spoken with a big and honest smile ' not crocodile smith' and tell " Dear voters, NOW there is no difference between me and Barak as we are in the same boat with the same destination and the same objective of solving or reducing the present pain in America. PLEASE VOTE TO BARAK FOR THE BRIGHT FUTURE AND I SPECIALLY URGE TO THOSE WHO VOTED ME TO GO TO THE POLL WITHOUT FAIL AND VOTE BARAK OBAMA and that will be real complement to me now.

Spencer from VA   August 27th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Her body language told me that she was 100% behind Sen. Obama. I didn't see any of those smurks that she usually makes.

So what? Even if she is unhappy to endorse Obama, can you blame her? She has the same number of votes if not more. She has as much right to be the nominee, if not more, as Obama. It's difficult for her and her supporters to abandon the campaign and give up all she had achieved. I think she had been brave and gracious. She deserves more credit than what people have given her.

Nick   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Boy, you guys will do anything to push a storyline tha'ts not there, won't you?

The irony that the very thing that could unite the party is a consesus to fight the media's consistent attempts to divide it.

Cory   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

MSNBC is too far left ( i think Chris Matthews would make out with Obama) FoxNews is well….Fox News and i dont even know what CNN has turned to but its complete crap. please dont make me watch CSPAN. it may bore me to tears but its better than the other options…..

Joyce in Florida   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Hillary Clinton was presidential in stature. I noticed that every time the camera was on Michelle Obama, I could see the daggers in her eyes. Of course, she had to put on a good front, but we all know that Michelle does not like Hillary. My husband said that Michelle needs to work on her facial expressions big time. Michelle's body language during Hillary's speech was unquestionably uncomfortable to say the least. If she is to be the first lady (sigh), then she better shape up real fast. She just looked mean and spoiled. I didn't see Michelle's speech on Monday, but I am sure that she did not receive the same intensity as Hillary's.

I didn't see anything that I haven't already seen. Senator Clinton may very well be an honest person who wishes nothing more than to be a public servant. However, to me she just never comes off that way. I'm sorry but you can't tell the entire country one thing and then a few months later say "forget that whole I'm better than him thing."

Jim   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Hey CNN, here's some body language for you: my middle finger as I switch the channel to MSNBC.

What a joke your network has become. How about actually reporting the news instead of making it up?

sky   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

absolutely ridiculous….why don't you get a clown to give us hints about her makeup or the trim of her eyebrows…..maybe a clothing expert from BRAVO TV to examin the cut of her pantsuit……

I dont even like Hillary and that was a brilliant speech. Why dont you guys try as hard as you can to take away ANY benefits that speech had so that your lovely newsprogram will have more angst to dwell on.

Pathetic…..the fact is…..with all of her heart…..she does not want a Republican to win and any imbecile can see that.

You guys never cease to amaze me

BigBear   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Hillary really does know Obama. And what she knows, she doesn't like. As a Senator for almost 4 times as long as Obama, she knows that he hasn't done anything, either for the country or for the state of Illinois. She knows that he is an empty suit, that the Party Leaders are stuck with and have to build up in any way that they can.
If his rhetoric is able to overcome the intelligence of the nation, and he wins, then next time the Democrats will run a High School Senior. They will believe less knowledge and accomplishment is a winning combination.

John McCain 08   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

What about Michelle Obama's body language?

She was giving Hillary dirty looks the whole time she was giving her speech. The only time Michelle smiled was when Hillary mentioned Obama….

Hillary 2012!

Marcelo   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Why not read some tea leaves or hire an astrologer? This is what you call journalism?

No wonder people are flocking to blogs.

This is awesome!!! That is what I've thought.

laurie   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

I think I feel like those supporters of Hillary. I personally have been a lifelong Republican and feel we need a change, but is Obama the change we need?!? I sorely feel like our country is being taken in by a snake charmer and we only hear the polish and shine the media wants us to and nothing of substance. I would have voted for Clinton definately not for Obama and that just leaves McCaine. This maybe an emotional reaction but I have no good feelings about Obama.

Maggie   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

This is really getting out of hand now. Will you please stop analyzing Clinton on her speech. She has done what she wanted to do and now you are trying to read her body language. Get real and leave the woman alone. I hope you will do the same thing when Joe Biden speaks tonight because he had alot of negatives said against Obama. So I hope you will get an expert to read his body language and also his face to see if he is genuine. Joe Biden is the one you have to worry about because he is the VP candidate not Hillary Clinton so please check him out thoroughly. If you can do that to Clinton and she is no longer a part of the campaign then you should be doing it to Biden because he is one of the inner circle now. Lets hope I will read a blog tomorrow with his body language being analyzed. CNN Please give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still behind Hillary 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

What a crock!

Could it possibly be that she just isn't a great speaker and was not comfortable? This was the best speech I've ever seen her give and she still looked stiff.

Quit trying to manufacture news and try reporting on the candidate's true positions on the issues. Take them apart on their plans not on how a smile looked like a smirk.

Chris   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

OK now that's just sad.

Who wold have thought that PBS would be the best politcal NEWS team to cover the convention.

knl   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

I think it has been over analyzed and anyway she did what she was told to do, so back off already.

Vegas Barbie for Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Of course she did not "emote"; she doesn't genuiinely support Senator Obama. Try as she might, talking loud while mostly talking about herself does not translate to endorsing Obama for President. A shame, too, because future POTUS will probably give this lackluster ingrate a Cabinet position. With a little luck she'll be too busy WORKING, which will keep her piehole more or less shut a good deal of the time.

Mike G   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

"The only thing she showed was a very weak smile, the cheeks didn't tend to lift very much, it was really almost what I would call a 'crocodile smile' where even the slight corners of the lips sometimes raise into a little bit of a smirk."

Ummm… you know this is Hillary, right?
Whenever she does a big smile it just looks fake and creepy.

CNN has officially lost it, and is trying to create news where there isn't any. Sorry the convention is boring guys, maybe you could focus on Georgia, the Tornado, or whatever Paris Hilton is wearing if you find this so boring. I want real news from CNN!

Sue in MI   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Here we go-more spin from CNN, which used to be reliable and a news network. No more.

I'm watching MSNBC, where you actually hear more of the speakers than of the the commentators-there's a concept for CNN! I also saw a cool shot of Bill Clinton applauding for his wife, and mouthing the words "I love you" several times. That was nice (and no comment necessary!)

Chi4Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

However, I would expect this from "FIX" (FOX) NEWS. But cmon CNN. You are beginning to lose credibility as a legit news organization very fast. Body language analysis…give me a break.

Dare you to post this   August 27th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

CNN is so pathetic in trying to analyze every breath and sneeze of the Democrats and so eager to create divisions between Democrats. Aren't there VITALLY important issues relevant to the nation to report than to waste time on discussing body language of Hillary in the "Political Ticker"? As a former CNN enthusiast, it is sad to see CNN slowly degrade to the level of supermarket tabloids.

CNN is owned by Time Warner, a BIG corporation, hence will try everything it can to divide the Democrats and get McCain elected.

Best alternative to CNN is CSPAN.

Are you kidding me?   August 27th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

C'mon, now. Let's get serious.

elizabeth   August 27th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Puleeze! Leave the woman alone! She did an incredible job. It may have been her finest moment.

I wonder what Dan Hill's body language might have looked like standing in front of that crowd?

Bobby Yarush / Baghdad,Iraq   August 27th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

I'd really like to know the need of the interpretation of "Body Language" this to me unless your detecting criminal activity is rediculous. If I do not determine in my own mind that body language has indicated anything else that that particular person nervous ticks…. then why in the world should I rely on the interpretation of some stranger as to what said ticks indicate?? This, to me, is a useless source of information. Lets just stick with the issues…. Hmmm… what a concept that is.

Frankly, i used to respect CNN as a news channel… But seriously u guys are pushing it a way too bit now – whats with u and the obsession with the Clinton/Obama issue… I strongly believe that this would not be as big an issue as it is today if you guys showed a bit more responsibility… Please, I beg u, as a citizen of this world – take pride in your job, and dont make a mockery of journalism.
Its high time u stopped giving importance to all these non-issues – the Clinton/Obama issue, the negative ads, Obamas cycling gear and McCains houses.
Focus on the issues… It would make a world of difference. Make this world a better place, by focusing your thoughts on how to improve the economy, how to stop the war and bring peace with all nations and religions, to heal gaia – mother earth and stop global warming.

MT, Texas   August 27th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

You could definitely see the body language, but it's no surprise that she is not genuine in her "support" for Obama. I mean, sho can blame her. She connected with voters and I'm not sure if her speech won't be more memorable than Barack's. I think she just reminded her voters why she got their vote, and why Barack wasn't their guy.

Of course, she ultimately delivered the right message, but did you see the tension on Michelle Obama's face? She looked angry and disgusted. Maybe it was because she was so upstaged, but most likely it was because she knew the real story behind the Obama / Clinton relationship.

I expect that Bill will be even less likely to hide his animosity toward Barack tonight.

Boy some will go to any length to stir the pot. Is this a Republican sponsored effort to stir up trouble or a CNN effort to keep the intensity of the story going? This is a new one and I think that tells us just how valuable this information is. What people won't do to try to corrupt others thinking and manipulate their vote.

Gina, Baltimore, Maryland   August 27th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

I give up! Hillary just can not win. Who cares what her supposed body language said. I thought her speech was amazing. She is so polished, intelligent and has great charisma. Too bad the media didn't play that up while she was debating. If they did, perhaps we would have a female president. I have much faith in her judgement, therefore, I will vote for Mr. Obama. The only bone I have to pick with him is, why did he pick Biden? He should have chosen Hillary. But he's no dummy. He knows she is the star.

mama4obama   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

I have had enough of the divisive reporting. I really think that all this drama has been created by the media….who apparently have something to gain if psycho PTSD McCain wins.

Moving on!!!!!!

Deb   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Unbelievable how there is a story to be spun here. She gave an amazing speech, a believable speech. This had to be a very tough night for her but she came through. I have always been an Obama supporter and as one I thank Hillary Clinton whom I have admired for a long time. She should be praised not analyzed.

Sad sad sad   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Seriously, cover some issues. Just CNN thinking of covering policy would be newsworthy in and of itself!

cmon   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

You all know she is telling the party's leaders and people one thing then backroom telling her supporters "think 2012." You don't need a body language expert to know that.

jmel   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

You MUST be joking. Honestly, she is likely the best public speaker I have ever scene, both within politics and the business realm. To suggest that she was smirking is confrontational. She was warm, engaging, articulate, open and best of all she CONNECTED with the electorate. Please dispense with these cynical and inflammatory puff pieces and lets address the real issues, like Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama are trying to do.

karol   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

That CNN has become so predictable and non news!!

It is Obama's time CNN and rightfully so!

JER   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

FOX NEWS is bullying CNN to the point that now they even copy O'Reilly's body language charades. I did not know CNN was so easily bullied, what shame. HRC was great, clear and connected. No matter what she said, the media would insist that somehow, she is an underhanded, terrible person and, by the way, so is Barack. That is why women and minorities cannot win in this nation — they are held to higher standards. McCain can lie about the color of the sky and we would never hear about it. Shameful and pathetic.

Vasilios Birlidis   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Very SAD CNN. are you really so at a loss for important news to report on that you had to create this sorry excuse to continue the drama surrounding the Obama Clinton relationship.

the poor woman can win for losing.

Larry   August 27th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

What HC said last night did not come from his inner mind, just for her own political aspiration. The real statements were those made during primary. She can not wait till 2016. She want BHO to loose, for her 2012 bid.

"Oh, by the way, I LIED when I said Obama is not ready to be president?" Or maybe, " Oh and I lied when I said Obama has a thin resume?" Now your nit picking her body language? How much lower would you like to go just to get headlines?

This is very silly, CNN. Move on to real issues.

Chris   August 27th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

OBAMA SUPPORTER IN IOWA   August 27th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Time to turn to CSPAN and let CNN slither back under a rock. When I changed to CSAN last night I got to see all of the speeches. Way more interesting than CNN commentators and their constant baiting.

Jim   August 27th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Get over it, why do we keep analyzing and analyzing the Clinton's every move. The media has caused more the divide than the Clinton's.

Shane H.   August 27th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Body language? The average voter isn't paying attention to a speaker's body language, unless it is something drastic. And I don't remember anything drastic from Clinton. No, the important part of a SPEECH is the SPEAKING.

PUMA moving on...   August 27th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

CNN, GIVE IT UP. There isn't anything more she can do and she's done plenty. I am on board with her message…you high ratings for this story line are going to become a little chilly.

Why?

As angry as I've been about the treatment of Hillary by Obama's supporters.
As angry as I've been about the DNC selecting our candidate for us.
As angry as I've been about the media's treatment of Hillary, I'll vote for Obama.

Hillary was absolutely right; it's not about us or them (or her or Obama), it's about America's future. We need to return to the good times of the Clinton Administration and I believe Obama (with some help) can get us there with Hillary at his side (I keep thinking about that woman with cancer who adopted two autistic kids).

I hope you haters really appreciate what Hillary has done here…completely self-less and for the people. I think some of you owe her and us an apology. I think Carville said it best: "Politics is kind of like a family. You fight and make up." I'm ready to make-up here folks..

Brigitte   August 27th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

What kind of news is CNN presenting here? Body language!? The CNN Team needs to analyze a bit deeper into the type of news presenting here: Body Language!

Hillary's speech was fantastic! All one needs to do is notice how you felt when she spoke. It was moving and she moved me.

So quit trying to speculate on what isn't there.

Go Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

This isn't news…just another diversion for McCain. CNN you are really turning off your viewers and bloggers.

I'm sure this body language expert has also watched John McCain and undoubtedly has determined he's unfit in more ways than one. Keeping them honest.

eric   August 27th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

This is the first time I have ever heard of a body language expert being on CNN. Fox loves to use them and they always seem to say what Fox would love to hear. Sadly, this is exactly what seems to be the case here. CNN is so afraid of being called liberal by the morons at Fox that they have no problem becoming just like Fox: conservative…the only four-letter word in politics.

CT- Nations Capitol   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Ok CNN , I am officially turned off.. this is ridiculous. I try to be understanding but Im tuning into PBS or C-SPAN. whomever has taken over your internet relations and broadcasts have truely lost the concept of good reporting as opposed to tabloid-type antics. I thought CNN was the foremost on issues.

I bet this will not be posted.

Dylan   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Are you kidding??

Give me a bleeping break CNN. Your pathetic attempt to manufacture a story out of nothing is getting downright disgusting.

EBC   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

LORD HAVE MERCY….. how many times can we spin, twist and over analyze nothing into something. WHY is this even being reported? Everyone's mannerism is different, if you asked t0 people, they would all interpret differently.

ENOUGH ALREADY….. your killing us with these stupid nonsense. NO one cares!!

Jesse, St. Louis Park, MN   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

CNN will shut down before it unequivocally states that Clinton IS IN FACT supporting Obama.

It used to be that you could learn something from the news. Now, new outlets, such as CNN, are responsible for the dumbing down of Americans.

Cathy   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

CNN is STILL trying to keep this "so-called" division in the democratic party going. I'm sick of CNN and will start watch C-SPAN for the Convention coverage!!!!

John   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

If Dan Hill's an expert on body language, he missed every sign she gave she was happy to endorse Obama, and without reservation.

Keep your day job, Dan.

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

I just talked to an executive at FOX News. He said he thought CNN's coverage was slanted too much to the right.

Aaron Pincus   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

I guess CNN decided to borrow a page from the Bill O'Rielly playbook. He has these kinds of unscientific analyses on his show every week. Very disappointing to see it from CNN.

larry wi   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Only a fool would believe that Hillary's committment to Nobama was sincere, you simply do not open up your arms to embrace an opponent/enemy who has succeded in defeating you, especially so when you believe you were cheated during the process. Lets see how embracing HillBillie is tonight.

Puffin   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

I just cannot believe what is happening! Instead of zooming on the message ‘change’ the future of America this Convention is turning into a huge promotion for the Clintons. It is actually quite depressing. They gave McCain a reason to celebrate.

nitro   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

She didnt say what the media and the republican world wanted her to say so now you take a look at her body language. You people are pathetic.

JT   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Why are there 18 entries on this blog about Obama and only ONE STORY about McCain?

Rewmie   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

This analysis is such a joke! I guess the media's job is to continue to print baseless inflamatory opinions!

Ohio.   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Why are we not talking about the divide in the Republican party? Romney said that McCain wouldn't stand a chance against Obama, those words actually came out of his mouth. Yet, he's on every morning show auditioning for vice president, and here we are… still talking about Clinton and Obama.

Cnn, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Truly.

IndependentThinker, NY   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Dear CNN,

There's no need to be a body language expert to realize that you're the worst political team on television. You're so fooled that you're giving those nasty GOP guys a talking point about Hillary supporters who might defect to McSenile…

If you think they are a great deal of people (Hillary supporters) who are willing to vote for McOld even though he thinks women don't deserve equal payment for equal job required equal qualifications or they want to end the war in Iraq or desperately want Health care knowing the Obama's plan is 95% similar to HRC's but 1% similar to McBush's
you're a fool.

More importantly they know she might have a shot in 8 years, she will only be 68 comparing to McBush who is 72 and yet look like he's 100 years old

Grow up and get back to the work you have been paid for !
which spread the news and not talking points to the GOP
let's see if you gonna post this one

Scott Robinson-Woodinville   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Hey, Disgusted republican! Let me tell you somethin'!!!

You are absolutely freaking right.

As a disgusted democrat, I absolutely can not believe we are trying to psychoanalyze Clinton's FREAKING BODY LANGUAGE! War; the economy; the Supreme Court; experience vs. understanding the world of the future; health care; energy; there are real issues that get precious little time discussed as it is. Focus on what matters, even if it hurts the ratings.

Oh Boy!!!???   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Are you married, Dan?

I would of loved to broadcast your body language as you said I do.

What's next, who has the least offensive cologne/perfume.

Get a real job, Dan. If you could see my body language now?…

John   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Body language "expert?" Give me a break. That's the way Hillary looks when she gives a speech. Her presentation was articulate and genuine. Any "sign" that she was pained in some way just might reflect the fact that a lifetime of commitment– leading to an historical run to be president– was derailed. I doubt that most people would be able, under the circumstances, to comport themselves as well as she has.

SONGBIRD MCCAIN   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

And what about the color of her pantsuit??! That obviously indicated that she thinks Obama is a Muslim. Good work, CNN.

Sad American   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

This a joke? CNN trying so hard to undo anything that is pro Obama. Clearly if your investigative reporters even tried, they can find an onslaught of negative McCain information.

Or does it sell more web advertising to attack and try to invent the bad in the good guy?

Just like 1 bad move negates 100 good moves in life, we perpetuate pathetic human tendencies almost in a escalating manner for individual gain.

Shame on you CNN and shame on you ignorant population that eats this up. If you are influenced by an analyst (aka opinion giver) then you dont deserve the right to vote. Go watch some reality TV and blinding be lead in to the future of United States of Idiocracy.

RR in AZ   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Give me a break! CNN your starting to get silly & STUPID!!

still4hill   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

and i guess noone's going to bother to analyze the tight smirk that michelle obama had on her face all night; like smoke was about to come out of her ears having to sit through listening to hrc. she did not crack a full smile the entire speech, no matter how much hrc praised her and her husband.

when obama loses in november, it will NOT be hrc's fault. she's done all that she could possibly do, but WE WILL REMEMBER!!!

Dave C - NJ   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

GOOD LORD!

This reeks of more of the same GOP slime river that's churning out such comments like "She didn't say he was ready to lead."

She said the "FATE OF THE COUNTRY AND OUR CHILDREN'S LIVES DEPEND ON GETTING OBAMA INTO OFFICE."

And if she is bitter and you want to uncover that by psychoanalyzing her or giving her a freakin polygraph, go ahead.

Obama is on the ticket…move forward people!

Jeanne   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

You guys crack me up…..What did you all think Hillary was suppose to do, jump up and down in support of Obama? Cut her a break, no other nominee has come out to support Obama. I think it was awfull that Hillary was made to even speak at the convention. Hillary was truely the only real democratic representative. They need to declair a new party for Obama, the socialist party. I hope when the election is over and Obama looses, the party regrets having dissed Hillary by not electing her as the party front runner or a least VP.

Mike Arlington   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

CNN coverage of this convention has been a disaster. Every blogger on the web is completely disgusted in your fascination of the Hillary issue. I understand you all are concerned with the all mighty $$$, but please, lets go back to reporting news and not creating your own. America deserves better.

marcelo   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

the analyst doesn't know what they are talking about. that was the most I have ever seen Hillary be animated and sincere.

CNN, report news and stop trying to start drama.

Brian   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Her body langauge? You've got to be kidding me. CNN should stop scandal-mongering.

Mike   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

It was a great speech, I can not believe that first of all, shes not our nominee, and that second of all, she was not even considered for the the Vice President slot. Very well spoken, unfortunatly I have a mind of my own, and unlike obama supporters, can make up my own mind instead of blindly following a candidate no matter how much we like them as a person, reguardless of their policies.

the puma movement lives, McCain '08

Fort Collins,Colorado   August 27th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

CNN ……What are you doing??!! Anything to tear at the possibilty of Obama being elected!! Do you want McCain? Probably because it is you guys who make more then $250,000.00 a year who are going to pay taxes on Obamas plan..which depends on how much over you are making. I am trying to stay with CNN news, but you people are getting on my last nerve. Bet if it was up to the employees of CNN McCain would be elected! I just keep wondering what is in it for your company? Do you not realize it effects all of us Americans? McCain is four more years of Bush (don't think anymore has to be said) I would rather take a chance on Obama because there is HOPE. With McCain we already know what we are going to get…Bush again maybe worse. Just report the news keep you opinions to yourself. I for one do not want to hear your biased thinking. But then MSMBC is the news I watch 75% of the time, will probably make it 100% by the time this convention is over!

Lune   August 27th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

you got it right

Ready for Change   August 27th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Well, she did what she needed to do, it is not after all, her job to get Obama elected. Most of Hillary's supporters, are people who have voted democratic before, sometimes their whole life, sometimes for Bill Clinton, sometimes for Reagan. Obama makes the claim to be the great uniter, so if he cannot get democrats who have voted for democrats their entire life to vote for him, is that really anybody's fault but his own?

MDH, Watertown CT   August 27th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

What – you mean she really doesn't want Obama to win in 2008, so she (supposedly) can run in 2012? What a surprise (NOT)!

Tammy - KCMO   August 27th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

It's time to unite behind Obama and send the Republicans home.

Ignore the posts from PUMAs and Republican's out to cause trouble and the slanted media articles being used to inflame the division to keep their ratings up.

Eric   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

This is a little ridiculous. Aren't we over analyzing a bit here?

Doris,Memphis, TN   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

To: The PUMAS
From: Black America

If Senator Obama does not win. Hillary will never be president!
2012 will be our turn.

David B   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

The silliness of CNN's political coverage is completely out of control. How much of this childish junk do you expect people to wade through before you'll cover ISSUES?!?!?!?

GOCUBS   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

You have got to be kidding !!! .An expert in ESP to tell us what she is thinking.

what the?   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Give me a break! Body language is going to determine if her voters back Obama! Put some real news up!

Shari, NY   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Who cares about body language? Whether she spoke from the heart or not many people have already decided who they are voting for come hell or high water.

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

I could swear I remember a time, way back when, that CNN was a news organization.

I might be wrong.

jazzyd   August 27th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Please stop grasping at straws and trying to create the story yourself. You WANT an Obama/Clinton conflict which is why you and the other networks are fanning the flames.

SONGBIRD MCCAIN   August 27th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

LOL…this might be the stupidest article you frauds have ever posted!

A body language expert…LOL…you have officially become the Onion.

A 10 on the unintentional comedy scale!

V   August 27th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Just let it go CNN. Why do you want to split the democratic party?

Susan from Scotts Valley, CA   August 27th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Lets talk about McCain's body language every time he gives a speech. He looks like an angry old man and the spitting image of the Sith Lord. Scary!

Joe   August 27th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

This is getting ridiculous. Where now examining her body language? Are you kidding me? What next? Give the woman a break. She delivered a tremendous speech!

Susan Sweet   August 27th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Is this in the same expertise asdental experts who have put men on death row who later were found to be innocent through DNA testing? As a psychologist myself… I despise pop psychology — and this is the best the republicans who decided to air this story could do?

Jim, IN   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

You hired a body language expert to analyze her? Come on CNN, lets keep our eye on the ball. This is extreme by any standards.

JP   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Wow, I can't believe that you published this article. Can we get an additional body language expert for a second opipion?

Jefferson   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

What a waste of report.. Honestly!

I think Hillary is doing more than what Obama deserves to help him. She did say she supports him. The rest is up to Obama to court these voters. Now, don't blame her if they are not impressed by him. He has to work really hard. Period.

Anonymous   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

This article is the stupidest thing I ever read. Can't you media types just move on and stop trying to stir controversy? It was a great speech by Hillary and a glowing endorsement of Obama.

NEVEROBAMA   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

The media needs to stop critisizing her!! They bash her for everything. She was exceptional yesterday!! She even moved me and I am not a Barack Obama supporter. She is a dynamic speaker and she will always be America's sweet heart!

In last night's ten minute speech she was more presidential than Obama has ever been in his 15 months of campaigning.

GO GIRL!!!

Unite   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

CNN come on, what the hell are you doing? do some real work, thanks.

Monica for Obama in Indiana   August 27th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Hillary actually did a lot better than what I thought she would do. I think for the moment and time, it was her best shot. Although, I can't figure out why she was proud to be everything but a 'wife'.
I was slightly disappointed that she did not set the lies and rumors that are out there on Obama straight. And a little disappointed that she did not talk more on women's voting rights. I also think that she should have just mentioned slightly Shirley Chisolm, who had run in the Democratic Primaries in the 70's ????

Mark Wagner   August 27th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Really CNN? Really? Her body language now? Does Clinton need to get a tattoo on her forehead saying that she supports Obama?

Please stop making up drama so you can keep your storyline going.

Mike, Syracuse NY   August 27th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

How about an analysis of Michelle Obama's body language during Hillary's speech. She looked downright onery.

Disgusted republican   August 27th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Is this a joke? Could we possibly overanalyze the Clinton/Obama relationship more? Enough is enough.

Here's an idea: Let's talk about the many serious issues that are facing our country today, and how McCain and Obama views differ.

Zion   August 27th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Republican News Channel..will you please stop trying to make Hillary a divisive figure. She is a true Democrat through and through. There are some who will not vote for Obama because he's a black man. It's their loss after all Obama is rich, and so is Clinton. She did a beautiful job with her speech last night. GET OVER IT…

JoelWhy   August 27th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

A 'body language' expert? Most of this type of analysis is just pseudo-science nonsense. It's only slightly more reliable than tarot card readings!

Pat D   August 27th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

And Mr Hill what did your face show as you made these judgements
about Hillary. Did your mouth smirk a little also. Give us all a break

Clinton Supporter   August 27th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

Give me a break. This woman did more than any other losing candidate has EVER done, and you're looking at her cheek muscles???

Do you think the audience-1/4 of mile away in that cavern they call a conference center could see her CHEEK MUSCLES-even on a giant and distant TV screen???

Do you think they were even looking at her cheek muscles??? I think they were listening to her, and they were electrified by her WORDS.

Just back off, or do you WANT to undo all her good work for Obama??

v.a.   August 27th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

seriously? now that i know this relevant information i better go back to being a PUMA!!!!!

omg CNN grow the heck up. this is ridiculous.

fa   August 27th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

That's right appealing to voters at large. This election is much than the PUMA. The voters at large: that matters

L for Legend   August 27th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Is the body language thing equivalent to a lie detector test? It looks like the media is injectingeverything at its disposal into this election. I wonder if McBush III will develop a twitch beforn the RNC.

huh?   August 27th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Why is this news?

Hillary was brilliant! Period!!!
We are making history! God Bless American and the Democratic Party!!
We will take our country back – we will end the war mongering – the fear mongering – the hate mongering – the race baiting – and the bitterness heaped on us from the past 8 years of the Bush/Cheney Republican administration.
For the best coverage go to MSNBC or c-span.

We are the United Democrats of America!!
Vote Smart – Obama-Biden '08!

You are OVER ANALYZING her speech. period.

Bruce   August 27th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Just what we need! More TALKING HEADs that go out of their way to TELL everone WHAT they want you to HEAR instead of letting everyone listen to what was really said. CNN you are too slanted. Hope McCain is paying you well for all the help.

I know this will not be posted, but worth a try

jb   August 27th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

who is this quack?

Bill in OHIO   August 27th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Nothing she can say can MAKE people cast their vote for OBAMA. I was a Hillary Supporter. I DO NOT LIKE OBAMA. I do not like him, the way he portrays himself, lifts himself up above ALL others. She could pay me 50.00 bucks, and I still wouldn't like the guy or vote for him. Has nothing to do with the fact I was a Hillary supporter…PERIOD.. Why can't some Obama supporters get it through their thick skulls……..OBAMA ISN"T FOR EVERYONE.

Terry from GA   August 27th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Can you please have Mr. Hill examine John McCain's body language when he was asked about Viagra and why women are not completely covered by health insurance companies for birth control.

Bitter Allen Hissein from Visalia   August 27th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

How long is CNN going to continue to beat this dead horse. Hillary supports Obama and the party is united. Quit trying to pick at the scabs of a few dead-end PUMA losers.

Matt in WI   August 27th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

This is ridiculous. CNN is the new Fox News. Just stirring up trouble for ratings. Pathetic. You've lost my hits on your website and lost my viewer ship on TV.

Sue   August 27th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Is this all CNN has to offer? You sound more likethe McCain campaign every day. I watch C-span at night where I get relief fom all the one-sided and dividing rehtoric of so called journalists!

beevee   August 27th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Are we making too much out of the body language crap.

anon   August 27th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

You guys seriously need to see a shrink for your fixation on the Cintons and your need to amplify psycho-drama in this convention.

I know it's a bit hard to do since it might affect your ratings, but is it POSSIBLE to move the focus from personalities and PUMAs and start to cover issues that the rest of us common folks can relate to?

Rocky   August 27th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

CNN it must be an ultra slow news day to run this as a story……

EJ   August 27th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Would you give me a break? I'm confident that no speech that Hillary could have given last night would've pleased the press; there'd be no story otherwise. But analyzing her body language? Has anyone ever analyze John McCain's body language? This is ridiculous.

Ian MN   August 27th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

WHAT??!?!?!? Why is CNN trying to stir up trouble. It's like they are deliberatly trying to divide this country. This article is pathetic cnn….please stop the propaganda

TheTruthHurts   August 27th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

This is RIDICULOUS!!!
I don't care if Hillary supports Barack for President. I don't care if her supporters support him. I want Americans to simply make a choice and live with the consequences and then SHUT UP!!

If you think McCain is better for the country, then vote for him and then shut up and watch what happens.

If you think Obama is better for the country, vote for him.

What is ridiculous is waiting for the Clinton stamp of approval. Look, they think Hillary is better. So what? They think any democrat is better than McCain. End of story. Move on!

Sean, atl, GA   August 27th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

wow….well, it's unanamous…the media has become mind readers, and they've now tapped into "expert body language readers" to confirm their hopes: Hillary doesn't really like Obama. The ratings hype machine to fabricate contraversy can continue! Yaay!

*changing to CSPAN*…

David Peter   August 27th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Like I keep saying, if Obama loses it'll be a double K.O. Hillary will go down too.

Zach   August 27th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

It would be interesting to have the same person do an analysis of one of her speeches talking about herself…

Xango 08 & 12   August 27th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

I agree, this is the hardest thing she ever had to do..

she does not endorse him fully,
she did not say he is ready to lead

the speech was all about her

and mccain
and becuase CNN and the commentators are just anyone, who go with the flow
they say anything, they made it all about her,

ohh please
i am so sick of the dynasty

what is up with that

i am sure millions of young people feel the same

her time has come and gone, she and bill are the past,
the dirty past

which americans (old ladies specially those who are so set in their ways and some men, like blitzer, and gerger, carville, ) wont let it go

time to move on man

jason, tx   August 27th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

what a pile

Bob Indianapolis, IN   August 27th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME CNN!!

David   August 27th, 2008 3:10 pm ET

Wow CNN is really trying its best to try to somehow show that there is no unity. This network has become a stupid rumor mill, and is starting to sound like Fox with conservative commentators who outnumber liberals 2-1.
