Examining body language: What did Clinton's say?

CNN

Watch a body language expert examine Clinton's speech.

(CNN) - What did Hillary Clinton's body language give away at the Democratic National Convention?

Dan Hill, a body language expert and author of "Face Time," told CNN that even while the words Clinton delivered offered an unequivocal endorsement of Barack Obama, her body language was much less affirmative.

"When she spoke about Obama, she really did not emote very much," Hill said. "The only thing she showed was a very weak smile, the cheeks didn't tend to lift very much, it was really almost what I would call a 'crocodile smile' where even the slight corners of the lips sometimes raise into a little bit of a smirk."

"I don't think that helped move the 30 percent of her supporters who say they won't vote for Obama," Hill added. "What she did do was appeal to voters at large, that she did more emotionally."

I think it's time for the media to stop focusing so much on Hillary and Bill and what they are doing or what their bodies are saying. Who Cares!!!! They are done now so let's just move on to the important issue of getting Obama and Biden elected..concentrate more on them and let the Hillbillery fans sit home and cry all alone...it's over for them. Put it to rest!

Hey FOX, I mean CNN, just report the news, not silly analysis and conjecture. Next you are going to tell us what her hair style says about the political landscape.

Good grief! CNN will not give this woman a break! Can she do nothing right by you Obama worshipping drones?

When he loses due to his inexperience and questionable character, I'm sure it will be Hillary's fault.

You CNN guys crack me up. A body language expert? How much does that job pay and where do you go to get a degree or certification in "Body Language Reading"? Give it a rest. Who cares what Hillary's body language says. Anything to stir up something towards Democrats. How about reporting on something meaningful like how CNN keeps reporting crap on their website?

Thank you CNN. Now I truly can save the time I used to devote to your website and channel. I think I'll use it to work for HRC.

FCNN. What I mean False CNN. CNN, You can interpret whatever you want. You are the worst media, sometimes worse than FOX. All news media analysis of CNN should be banned. I used follow only CNN until this primary. Last two times Dems lost election because of CNN talking too much about gay issues and abortion issues. You have never talked about Education, internet, health care and economy etc. Now you do not know what to talk about other than concentrating and analyzing Clintons. Please concentrate on real issues American facing now. Not on individuals and parties.

Hillary's "body language" is was EXACTLY what it ALWAYS is- stiff, not emotional, and coming off as slightly insincere! That's the way her face is made, I guess.

Her fans have been telling us for months that she is really emotional and human DEEP DOWN– so that means her body language is no different now.

Did Hill mention that? No, he's another biased phony pundit.

Of her 18 million primary voters, there will likely be a few who won't supporter.

And CNN will not rest until it finds these people and gets them on the air.

CNN, please stop!!!!! This is ridiculous – and pretty cheesy! Stop trying to stir up trouble in the Democratic Party! Your motives are so obvious! You are almost as bad as the Republican Party, using negativity and dirt to get votes (I mean ratings).

Overall, the Democratic Party is uniting – whether you like it or not!

    Obama / Biden 2008!!!

Look, she can't change the vote. If she didn't think she had more experience and would make a better president she would not have run. She did an outstanding job of presenting the case that we can vote for Obama or McCain neither one is particularly exciting. McCain is not an honorable person and Obama has no real track record to judge; so it comes down to party, do you want four more years of Republicans based on what they have done in the last eight years, or take a chance on Obama and the democrats who at least gave us eight years of prosperity before Bush.

Who gives a crap what her body language had to say – she was only up there for her own applause – she just can't seem to get it through her head that she is NOT a candidate, that the people DID NOT VOTE for her – she just loves all the media attention just like her husband. Let's hope her daughter has her own sense of common sense and doesn't follow in her parent's footstesps.

    Dear Hillary supporters,

I'm netiher a Hillary or Barack supporter (still undecided) but I have a question. Can someone PLEASE outline exactly what experience Hillary has. I live in New York and don't know anyone who can recount one thing she has accomplished as our junior Senator. I can remember her coming down to Ground Zero after 9/11 to take pictures but that's about it.

Not being annoying, just trying to become more educated. Thanks!

I saw the body-language analyst on GMA. He had nothing but positive things to say about Michelle O, despite the pursed lips and angry frown. It was absurd, as she looked like Cruella. He even compared Michelle's style to Jackie-O's. What a COS! I am so relieved that there are others out there also thinking how trashy and useless our news sources have become.

  22. Hillary all the way

Hillary did what she had to do, and she did it with grace and dignity. Unfortunately, the Obama supporters (and Hill must one of them) won't give her the credit she deserves. The reason so many of her supporters are having trouble going to "the other side" is because the Obamites have debased and demonized the Clintons and their supporters.

You have got to be kidding me! Reading her body language in her face, for God's sake, give me a break. You have no idea how she felt , she convinced me by her words and actions that she was sincere, she is no fool. Stop trying to read into everything and report the news as it is, this foolishness of talking heads dissecting and pontificating everything is disgusting, and that is why I don't watch any news anymore that is not live and or raw footage, too many phonies out there mostly on CNN and Fox!

Wow, what an emotional reaction by the clintaholics!

Analyzing body language is a recognized scientific endeavor. It requires no more subjectivity than listening to the tone of someone's voice. These are trained professionals making educated observations. The majority of what we comprehend is based upon body language and nonverbal communication, not the spoken word. Most of the major news networks have been looking at this for quite some time.

I'm really amazed that someone can even read Hillary at all as she has been so scripted and mechanized throughout the whole primary season. Obama is much less guarded in his physical expressions. He's actually kind of fun to watch. I'm really more concerned about where all the $ is going to come from to run these programs they are offering. Bottom line is I stopped looking for answers from Washington many years ago and would be pleasantly shocked if anything good comes out of the Beltway.
