That time was bittersweet at retirement time when I was informed by my state that I would have to "buy" the eight years of teaching service (overseas) with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, if I wanted it to count monetarily. Thank you Michelle, for remembering the military families. The many sacrifices that are being made by these families continue to remain unknown or unvalued.
