The 'Yes We Can' YouTube video will be recreated.

DENVER (CNN) – The Emmy-winning “Yes We Can” video that spliced together clips of Barack Obama’s New Hampshire primary night speech and set it to music, will be re-created live on stage at Invesco Field in Denver Thursday night before the Illinois senator accepts the Democratic presidential nomination there.

The video, which appeared shortly before Super Tuesday, became an Internet sensation. It was adopted by the Obama campaign, and used often on the trail.

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am — who produced the celebrity-packed video — will perform Thursday evening, backed by singer John Legend and a full gospel choir.

Singers Sheryl Crow and Stevie Wonder will also take the stage for the final night of the Democratic convention.

UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson will perform the national anthem Thursday night at Obama's acceptance speech.

Obama/Biden, 08!

Big Willie Dynamite   August 27th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

I'm in awe at the level of blatant stupidity and ignorance of Clinton supporters. She lost, FAIR AND SQUARE, but they think she should still be POTUS? She LOST! Get the frack over it! And to say you're gonna vote for McInsane, you were not only never a Democrat to begin with, you've been living in a box for so long that the box now has round edges and you're now living in a ball of confusion.

Denise   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

This should be interesting

carol   August 27th, 2008 3:50 pm ET

Lets be honest here, Hillary did not and does not have 18 million voters, never did, period. If she did why wasnt her debt paid off by them? lousy dollar from each? Well because she doesnt have that many supporters.
2nd…. 25% of those that voted for her were repubs that crossed the line to try to help Obama loose, which of course, didnt work, because there were alot of dems, repugs and indipendants that believed in HIM, not her.
3rd.. If youre tired of the lies and spin from msm, watch c-span or pbs… If u repugs think ur stupid ads, ur nasty comments on our blog(obamas) is going to work, ur wrong You leave ur coments and go collect ur pay from Mccian. oh ya and then u let msm know they are there so they can report discontent between his supporters. AINT GONNA WORK, NOT NOW, NOT EVER. i CANT wait till next week, , u repugs arent going to be very happy when we get done with u
adios and good luck cause mccain, ur going to need it lolol

gooooooooo

"What a friend we have in Barack"?

The issue of who is stronger on National Security should be judged on whose policies will leave the rest of the world upset with us rather than who talks the toughest. We are attacked because of our policies, not because people just enjoy hating us.

good2know   August 27th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

The republicans didn't want McCain 8 years ago, 4 years ago, and We don't want him NOW!

JB   August 27th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

Most of Hillary Clinton supporters are still voting for McCain because Clinton supporters think that John McCain will be better on national sercurity in these dangerous times and is a more moderate candidate closer to Hillary's policies. Hillary did a great speech last night but McCain will be better for the job and will win in Nov.

Vegas Barbie for Obama   August 27th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

OBAMA is no where near as a big a celebrity as Ronald Regan was when he was elected in the 80s. Why was it ok for Regan to be a celebrity, but a bad thing for OBAMA to be popular and appeal to young voters??? Jeez, what a bunch of racist people on here. You don't like him because he's black. Just admit the truth! I'd have more respect for you- but you're just cowardly racist. Actually several people "just out of HARVARD" were HIRED to be CEOs! And He finished HARVARD 20 years ago. Just because McSAME was a POW does not make him qualified to be president. NO WAY! NOW HOW. NOOOOOOOOOO McSAME! OBAMA/BIDEN 2008

NYmike   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Like the starry eyed Obama supporter said "I don't care about the issues, Obama sends text messages and is technically savvy so he has my vote" The biggest political failure since McGovern is coming - print this one out and look at it on November 5th. If Obama had a brain he would have let Hillary have this next four years, she would have screwed things up so badly that he would be king in 2012 - instead he will take Howard Dean's spot in a year or two after he loses his Illinois seat - oh, there was tough election LOL

Jerry   August 27th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

I guess Senator NObama thinks that if he surrounds himself with idiotic celebrities that he is going to impress voters. How wrong! Some of us are already tired of his celebrity mongering.

But, what else can you expect from an individual that doesn't have much to offer. His celebrity status may impress our youth. However, even if they vote at all, they are not going to influence this election that much. Goes to show how misguided the Senator can be.

Senator NObama and his misguided, bleeding-heart supporters are holding the Democratic Party hostage. Any voter that disagrees with the Senator is immediately branded a racist or not a true Democrat. Well, I am a Senator Clinton supporter and I don't agree with the Senator's politics/policies and will not be supporting him.

Jerry Harrington, Deep South Texas   August 27th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

I've been a long time Republican for all my life. But for the past decade, all I have seen is my wages go down, which adversely affected my wife and 4 kids. I'm not even sure why I voted Republican for all of these years, but I suppose it has been a family tradition in believing that Republicans shared America's values. That is not the case now, I don't believe so. I'm not so trusting of John McCain, but i'm neither trusting of Barack Obama. I don't trust McCain because he comes from a time of economic slump and wartime, and he might just want to bring all that back here to Texas by deploying more troops and seeing more killed. I don't trust Barack Obama because… well to be honest, i'm not sure why? He hasn't done anything to make me distrusting of him. I guess it might be because he's not like a typical American - white and wholesome.

I am writing this because i would like to admit that i was a racist before, but for the betterment of this country, we need not go to our past and pick the candidate from the past. We instead NEED to elect Barack Obama, whether or not we have any qualms about trusting him. The time is now. I'm going to move to Canada if McCain is elected. Sorry my fellow Americans, but just like I voted for Bush the last two times, i'm not voting for McCain. The fact of the matter is, if you vote for McCain, don't complain for what he does to you and what he will do further to my family.

Gino   August 27th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

what Qualifies you to be a U. S president? experience? none of the people applying for the job has ever held the position or anything like it before. So i think we need a little more than that , judgement, Vision and Integrity, character, background and what you propose to do for the American people are way more important since you are not an incumbent candidate you don't have presidential experience to be literal. a president and a senator do extremely different thing and POTUS has way more power and does a whole lot more 27 years in the senate will not give you a clue in of a day in the life of a president.
Obama beats Mccain on all those other fronts only thing mccains been on the senate longer. to me that alone doesn't Qualify him to be POTUS, he lacks the Vision, character , and his platforms doesn't work for me. What he is proposing we have been doing for 71/2 years and quiet frankly we need change. Doing the same thing and expecting a difference is insanity. I am willing to let try something new and know that if we all come together we can make it work. This just my real opinion there's nothing stronger than the people not even money. 65-70 percent of americans don't want out this iraq war and about the same number names the economy as their number 1 concern and the average american household income is $35,000 so John Mccain is really not that aligned with the people .. Thats why i am voting for Barrack Obama not because i am some "Koolaid" drinking " Yes We Can" chanting obamabot or what ever u call people who believe in and support the Obama Campaign…In november we will see if people have the courage to vote their hearts think about your Family and your lives when you pull that leveler because this elections is very important , vote for what benefits them.

Susan from Scotts Valley, CA   August 27th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Desire - Michigan - Clinton wouldn't bring 18 million votes. I think she did an awesome job last night but a big chunk of those 18 million votes would never vote for Obama even if she were on the ticket and some of those (a lot of them) were Republicans.

If she REALLY had 18 million supporters, she wouldn't still be in debt.

His selfishness and arrogance gave the Clintons two nights at HIS convention.

truth101   August 27th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

You hear that sound? It's Obama steadily sinking in the polls and surrendering his lead to McCain in every category. McCain survived five years in a living hell called a POW camp. The milquetoast Obama would not have lasted 5 minutes in that camp. McCain overcame that challenge with courage and dignity. Obama's biggest challenge in his life to date: overcoming his student loans.

Obama: No experience, No accomplishments, No way!

Obama: It's like putting the batboy in charge of the baseball team.

Alisha(Independent voter) MN   August 27th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

The whole PUMA movement is just STUPID. Remember, you reap what you sew. The whole idea is to unite the party not to continue to cause division. As the saying goes, "United we stand, divided we fall." This is the exact reason why I remain independent because it is the issues that matter the most; what the candidate stands for, his/her platform and positions. True Hillary supporters would know that Senator Obama, and Senator Clinton agree on 95% of the issues. One thing that I can truly say about the Republican Party is that for the most part they are loyal to their nominee (because of platforms) not because their "guy/gal" lost fair and square in the primaries. If a dog was their nominee, they would rally behind the dog with bumper sticker and all– RinTinTin 2010! I have a sneaky suspicion that if Obama loses to Senator Mc Cain (GOD FORBID) in November that Hillary's chances in 2012 would not be great because the party will be more divided than ever! Be careful what you do…Doing things out of spite and malice only comes back to haunt you in the end.

It pleases me to the umpteenth degree to know that the people who are for change, the people who are for progress, the people who support Barack Obama and the Democratic party VASTLY outnumber the people who don't.
If you look at the whole thing you can tell that the people who are against Obama are fighting a losing battle. This is a battle that they CONNOT WIN! WILL NOT WIN. In November a change will come for the better. We are going to win because we have more people who believe. We are unified. WE ARE

If you guys think that he's showboating then wait till next week and watch your party's convention. They had to trim it down so too much time isn't taken up by accolades to the current president. Not that there is much to say.

Shaun-ga. You don't think the dropping of oil prices has anything to do with China taking over a million cars off the road for the Olympics do you? That might have eased up the demand for oil and dropped the price.

But of course everything is due to the republicans right? Even McCain said the drilling is for 'psychological effects only'. But if you believe that its doing something then you won't have to pay more right?

Its a convention people. Of course there is pageantry. It is a historic event. If you don't like it, don't watch. You have that choice.

For anyone who says that Hillary didn't say that Obama is not ready to president was clearly not listening. She said our only hope to survive the next 4 years is to vote Obama into office; I think that statement says it all. Barack is ready to lead. He has MORE experience than someone who spend 5 years as a POW, then came home, divorced his wife (who was still recovering from a near fatal car accident) and married a younger, richer women. McSame is bad news for this world. We need Obama because 4 more years of BUsh policies is likely to be the end of all of us. Look at them inciting a war in Georgia just so McSame can pull ahead in some pulls. Cheny's people were in Georgia 2 weeks before the fighting broke out, that doesn't sound weird to anyone? Iraq part 2 is already starting and Obama will stop it before our country perishes.

As that Hillary delegate said last night said on CNN….,would you hire someone just out of Havard with an MBA to run a Fortune 500 company? No, no, no! It's all about the experience peeps! I'm still a democrat and look forward to voting that way down ballot.

Wait - McCain Has Daddy Yankee in his camp - its looking bad for Obama celeb support now!

The right is still trying to make the case that being liked by the public is not good for the president. Is that why Bush ran the govt the way he did, so we wouldnt like him?

By the way, they sure licked the Gipper's butt because he was a Hollywood actor……….

velmeezee   August 27th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

I am so excited about this year's DNC. I've never really paid much attention to the previous ones because I was never encouraged to learn what they were really all about. To me elections have always been about technical things way over my head. I always voted, because I always want to be counted and I based my decisions on whatever I read in the newspaper or in news magazines. This year is entirely different. This year everyone can get involved because the effort has been made to explain the processes in layman terms, and the signifigance of each event has been highlighted throughout this election cycle.
I'm excited and happy to see pop musicians and such taking part and showing their support, however I'm a little apprehensive about how this is going to go over in terms of the seriousness of the democratic party.
Oh well, I guess I'll just enjoy it, and rejoice in the possibility that this is the start of a new improved USA

Unshrub   August 27th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

So far all those who oppose Obama can come up with is name calling. McCain, the RNC, and most of these morons who haven'tt had an original thought in their entire life. Why is that?

Mike from St. Louis   August 27th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

It is so terribly sad that people will vote for McCain and this old guy has not once stated what his plans are besides keeping the Bush tax cuts in effect, which have not worked at all, and drilling for more oil, which has failed to gain any ground in the last eight years. Oh and he did say how he would keep the troops in Iraq as long as needed even though the Iraqis and everyone else wants us out. Continue to spend all our US dollars in Iraq while they continue to build their surplus. Oh yeah and now it's Iran who is the problem…simply someone else to start something with to ensure more war!

Then everyone wonders where this McSame name comes from. Everything he wants is what Bush has already set forth and we are ALL suffering because of it. Where is the change you ask?? Change will come from ANYONE other than McCain. How can anyone justify voting for McCain? They all say well…Obama has no experience. if that's the case then it only means that he's not experienced at destroying something. What TRUE EXPERIENCE has McCain shown?? Copy someone else's ads and continue someone's work. He only renewing Bush's policies which has got us all down. The die hard republicans will set the ship on fire while poking holes in all the life boats to see everyone go down because they don't like the captain. How stupid and selfish to destroy everything around them for big money sake and not being willing to see a hint of possible change. How selfish. They want to save from the top down like usual abd have yet to see that their methods haven't worked. Their voting history shows it…they kept a loser in office and want to put another one there.

Diane Dagenais Turbide   August 27th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

comments like these are stupid how republicans get people to say anything and not think! : <I am so glad Hillary did not say in her speech that Obama is ready to be President. We all know he is not.

Barack Obama does not need someone to tell America he is ready to lead! Barack Obama has chosen to run for President because he knows that he is ready to lead…this is not a child running for President!

Republicans should start asking themselves why McCain has been a follower for 26 years. He is not ready to lead…he had followed Bush/Cheney and he had led us to these disastrous times. This race is historic because America had a woman and an african american running for president where McCain is running to save the face of the republican party! Barack does not have to save any faces! The democrats can face anything including cleaning up after the mess left by repulicans!

Again, this is historic because no other past president has ever inherit such a mess…and we do not need to give back the power to the party who created that mess..It would not be historic it would be suicidal. We have a leader who can bring people together at the White House to clean up the White House! We do not need a cleaner who is just ready to clean…We need a leader who can bring the Cleaning company ready to clean with him their House once and for all!

Erin from NY   August 27th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

I would consider myself a moderate (voted for Bush in '04). It is my hope that this country can get past it's racism and insecurities and vote for a man with character, family values, vision and the courage to make tough decisions. I will be watching on Thursday. Rock star? Not sure if that's it, but he has something this country desperately needs and with courage we will get it in '08. It is time to move forward America - OBAMA in '08 all the way.

Michael   August 27th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

The other day (I think yesterday) there was a title that said Hip-Hop Republicans. I'm not sure if anyone watched the iReport but it was pretty awful. Some republicans coined the buzz word "Hip-Hop Republican" into a term basically meaning minorities that are trying to bridge that gap within republicans and get the word out, etc. However it had nothing to do with Hip-Hop. I officially deem this 'Hip-Hop Democrats". I don't support a certain party, but I don't like approve of false buzz words.

Joe PA   August 27th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

Some of you people need to get a life. There is always entertainment at the convention. Just because they've brought in young hip entertainers and not the band from the Lawrence Welk show doesn't mean Obama isn't worthy. It is a new generation. Were you all complaining years ago when Bill Clinton was on MTV playing his sax. You people will look for anything to pick at. I never truly realized how silly the American public can be.

For the record I am a 50 year old white woman and I like John Legend, will.i.am and the black eyed peas - I have them all on my Ipod.

To the Republicans/ McCain supporters who say Obama is a celebrity driven politician, lets remember that everyone's favorite President, Ronald Reagan was an actor (he was also a Democrat until he hooked up with his 2nd wife, Nancy Davis). And what about the CA governator, Arnold??
Maybe the Republicans can have the singing Senators perform at their convention next month or maybe Cindy McCain can sing some patriotic songs to the audience.

Derrick Martin of Houston   August 27th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

Are the Repuglicans (they earned that label to me when they started attacking Obama's innocent children) trying so hard to make Obama out to be a celebrity because racist USAers will accept a black celbrity?????
To them it is okay for blacks to entertain them but not to lead them. Blacks could entertain at the Cotton Club in New York but they had to come in throught the back door and could not be part of the audience.

All show, no substance. Oh yes, there was that speech in the Illinois state senate in 2002. The Obama rocket is burning the last of its fuel and is on its way back down to Earth.

The Democrats blew it. Hillary would have stomped McCain. Obama … sending a boy to do a man's (or a woman's) job.

Its OK, just keep texting away. Pathetic! No wonder we are is such trouble. No one makes or does anything for real anymore, its all virtual. Go ahead and hide behind your computers. The blue collar worker who's been told he is a victim of the "rich" will be thrilled that will i am is there. He was so close to making it on his own, but his union rep reminded him he's nothing without the union and the government support of the union. How sad. All he needed was a little push from a culture that reminded him this is the USA, and you can accomplish what you want regardless of anything. So the liberals have taken all this away from him-from his educational upbringing to what he sees on TV. Now he's told YES WE CAN. Maybe if he learned YES I CAN in school rather than "you are a victim," he'd be ok.

Well, as usual, I know that you will not post this but here goes.

This goes to show that this is all Obama is about - show people, partying, bowing down and worshiping the self-proclaimed one - Obama.

Don't you people get sick of Obama being about Obama and what Hollywood people can do for him? IF, and I mean a BIG IF - he had any substance, he would win the election based on what he can do for America, not what America can do for him. You people really need to grow up and realize that we (real Americans) know that we have to protect ourselves from terrorists, threats and also insiders who would love to destroy the US. Come on, pleople, it's time to grow up and stop playing games - this is serious business and we need a leader who knows how to take things serious and make this country work. John McCain is that leader. Once he is elected, maybe some of these "Hollywood" stars can invite Obama out their and get him and his wife into acting for movies instead of in real life. CNN - you need to clean sweep your reporters and find some who want a real, serious job - one that provides real news coverage.

Senator Barack Obama will restore America to the great land of opportunity it was and still can be. As a young child, growing up in The Netherlands right ofter the WWII, I and envied my cousins and their parents when they emigrated to America; the land of dreams and opportunity. Tthat's the America Barack Obama will give back to us and to the world; a shining beacon of hope and liberty. I also remember, upon visiting merica, Lady Liberty in the harbour of New York City; one look and my heart swelled with pride, and again I envied my cousins and their parents for coming to America and becoming part of that dream that's called A M E R I C A . Celebrfate America with Barack Obama as President of the Unites States of America!

It's funny because I go to other major news sites and watch on TV and, although still talking about upset Hilary supporters, they find Hillary supporters with very touvhing stories who are now Obama supporters. In a need for drama and to boost their ratings, CNN has not done such thing. In fact they gave 10 uninterrepted minutes to a Hillary backer last night dissing Obama. I bet CNN almost blew their load over that. In fact I saw them play a portion again today. CNN is almost becoming a video version of the National Enquirer.

Obama is empy, or Obama just likes publicity or Obama will mess up America.

All im saying where is the evidence to support these claims, everyone likes to make judgements off of emotion with no evidence to support the claim. This type of thinking got us 8 years of Bush and what do we have to show for it, record debt, a useless war that just diverts the attention spans of simple minds.

Oh and my favorite is The republicans are strong on terror than the democrats and we are safer under republicans.

You are as bad as those you say you stand. I am not a Hillary fan by an strech, but are you saying that 18 million people don't count and that anyone who doesn't agree with Obama is racist?? If that is the case than I guess I'm one because I don't trust a man who votes for a program instituted by Dick Cheney (FISA).

Hillary/Warner 2012!

Only a Clinton can defeat an incumbent Republican president!
We'll need her to defeat McCain in four years.
Obama will not win.
He's unelectable.
Said so Since
Day one!

Too bad Barack Obama abandoned the original “Yes We Can”-hope-change premise of his presidential bid as best exemplified by his New Hampshire primary night speech in favor of the cynical politics of just winning.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Obama ignored the political “professionals” and stayed on message.

That message, while inspiring at the time, is long gone.

It is going to be wonderful. Look for the McCain supporters and the pundits to chime in with the negatives. As I see it those who can do and those who can't look for something negative to say about it. Let's see McCain do this.
