Will.i.am to perform at Invesco

The 'Yes We Can' YouTube video will be recreated.

DENVER (CNN) – The Emmy-winning “Yes We Can” video that spliced together clips of Barack Obama’s New Hampshire primary night speech and set it to music, will be re-created live on stage at Invesco Field in Denver Thursday night before the Illinois senator accepts the Democratic presidential nomination there.

The video, which appeared shortly before Super Tuesday, became an Internet sensation. It was adopted by the Obama campaign, and used often on the trail.

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am — who produced the celebrity-packed video — will perform Thursday evening, backed by singer John Legend and a full gospel choir.

Singers Sheryl Crow and Stevie Wonder will also take the stage for the final night of the Democratic convention.

UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson will perform the national anthem Thursday night at Obama's acceptance speech.

  2. Being a celebrated candidate is a GOOD thing

Since when is being admired by millions of people a bad thing? Actors and musicians are just as excited about this election as the rest of us, and they have the right to use their status to get the word out about why they support Obama and not McCain.

Funny how most of these celebrities make a lot of money...shouldn't they be interested in McCain's tax plan?

They prefer Obama because he's the better candidate.

If Obama were white, then we won't be giving Clintons so much publicity. What happened to our media?

Excellent! But where is the news about Senator McCain and how much he enjoys Daddy Yankee's song 'Gasolina?' Wonder if they will be playing that one at the Republican convention?

To those of you who thing that Hillary has a chance in 2012, without the support of African Americans, it’s impossible to get the Democratic nomination and presidency . The Democratic Party is home to almost ALL of the African American voters in this country. Read the reports. Check out the breakdowns of voters and be careful who you offend. We need each other.

It is going to be wonderful. Look for the McCain supporters and the pundits to chime in with the negatives. As I see it those who can do and those who can't look for something negative to say about it. Let's see McCain do this.

Too bad Barack Obama abandoned the original “Yes We Can”-hope-change premise of his presidential bid as best exemplified by his New Hampshire primary night speech in favor of the cynical politics of just winning.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Obama ignored the political “professionals” and stayed on message.

That message, while inspiring at the time, is long gone.

    The real dream ticket...

    Hillary/Warner 2012!

Why? If Obama loses, and it looks like he will, and McCain will win.....

Only a Clinton can defeat a Republican Incumbent president...
